I always had a wonderful experience with Family Solutions. I attended for many years and never had any trouble with scheduling, staff, and everyone was accommodating. I can still call and the ladies know me by name and ask how Im doing.

Im greatly disappointed in Family Solutions.I reached out for guidance on a personal matter to improve the quality of life of an issue for myself and family, but got absolutely no response, no call back, nothing. I called every Monday for a month left messages for the friendly staff to get in contact with Dr. Scott Shelby but got no help, which raises great concern and faith in the practices of Family Solutions and the value they hold for their clients and families longterm wellbeing.Food for thought, consider other counseling options and who you or your loved one will be confiding in.

This was an incredibly difficult business to navigate with a teen on the Autism Spectrum. We already had a therapist that our child was comfortable with and only wanted medication needs at this office but their policy was that they would only see your child for medication needs if you used one of their therapists (where they could reap financially from). We loved the nurse Practitioner but did not have any luck with their therapists when it came to helping someone on the Autism spectrum. We tried several and it did not work but we were happy with the medical side. Then they flat out refused to see our child for medication needs because our child therapists was not employed by their company. I understand the need of pairing medication with therapy but the owner refused to allow the psychiatrist and then the nurse Practitioner to continue to help us because our child felt more comfortable with another therapist that was not employed by Family Solutions. In most fields a physician or Nurse Practitioner can not self refer to someone employed by their own company. Its called the Stark Amendment. But when I brought this up they sent us a letter saying they would no longer help our teen.

I’ve been going to this clinic for 4 1/2 years, and since I’ve moved to Alexandria in 2016, it has always been worth the drive just to stay with my doctors. They are so understanding, patient and truly loving towards their patients that I feel like i am family when i go there.
