Worked with assurant for a year and it was an excellent experience as a new nurse. The owner is more than fair, not only to his employees, but to his patients and their families. Communication lacked at times but this was to be expected working in home health away from the administration.

I would not advise anyone to work for this company. I have worked for them myself, and so has my mother. My mother was fired while on medical leave. The owner of this company is sticking with his story that he was not aware she was on medical leave, but also states the paperwork from her doctor was faxed to his office.... He hired a new employee to take her place while she was medical leave, yet stated to the unemployment office that she quit her position. My mother was told on the Monday following her release from medical leave, while standing in her clients kitchen ready to start the work day, that she had been replaced. Yet, the owner of Assurant Healthcare Staffing bold face lied to an unemployment judge that she was a no call, no show.I would not advise anyone to waste their time working for a company with such low morals and integrity.

Im writing this, assuming Ive been let go. 2 weeks ago, i was contacted by my boss, telling me he was sorry but he needed to take me off the schedule for that weekend and he would call me either the next day, which was Friday, or Monday. To this day, i have not been called to discuss the situation, or about whether or not i was being let go. I dont know what i did or didnt do, and for the last 2 weekends now almost 3, i have waited to be talked to about this. I had not been written up, nor had i been verbally warned of any wrongdoing up to that phone call. Ive lost 2 full paychecks now and i havent been able to pay the bills needed. I was also told not to contact the other employees or the client and family. I loved working for this company and the client, however, the communication is something left to be desired.
