Ive been using Northwest Differential for more than 20 years (started in Kirkland). Friendly, knowledgeable staff, with top quality parts and service.
Great work. Time frame was longer than expected, but the work was awesome
Dan really knows his business. The cost turned out to be higher than I had planned, but we wound up doing more than originally planned as we were trying to get rid of a whine at 40 mph. Got rid of some noise but not perfect. Nevertheless, they worked very had to make me happy and even did some work at his expense...I would highly recommend Dan & his team for differential and rear-end work
What a great shop! Dan/ Northwest Diff took good care of my white whale of a van when even Ford stealership wasn’t able or willing. A niche done well here, easy to do business with, communicates well and would recommend and use again! Thanks!
I phoned Dan to describe my truck concerns and he said he was 30 days out but had me bring my truck on 3/23/21 so he could check my truck and determine what parts need to be ordered. This way while the parts are on order I could bring my truck back later when the work can be done. I agreed.I brought my truck in because I sensed my Driveline has a slight vibration when reaching higher speed and wanted this checked, and I also wanted Dan to check evidence of fluid leaking from the rear differential. Please note I was referred to Dan by the transmission shop that had previously inspected my truck.Dan checked my truck after it was raised on the lift while another person was also present (did not appear to be an employee but a friend of his). Dan informs me the Driveline was too level and needs to be adjusted. He began to ask me if I wanted to change rear gears to 3.55 and I said I might depending on the cost and whether the condition of the existing gears are worn and might require replacement or not.I then asked Dan what it might cost to add Posi-Traction and with a straight face he told me $5000. After being told this I also looked at Dans friend and he also had a serious face. I then replied this would be too much for me and Im not interested. Dans friend then pointed out the brackets holding the transmission need to be replaced. I then said that the transmission shop who referred me to Dan after they had also inspected my vehicle did not bring this up to me, however, we could include this work if needed. The explanation given was that after Driveline is adjusted it will create more stress on the brackets. Reasonable enough I supposed.Towards the end of our conversation Dan said that the rear differential leak was not serious at this time. Dan concluded by telling me he would call me back with parts costs and options. I asked him if he has my phone number and he said, Yes.It is now 04/09/21 and I have not heard back from him nor expect to. I will not follow up with him for reasons I will describe belowI experienced this once before when he had my Jeep for months. I would call him time and time again when I wouldnt hear back from him after he said he would call me back but never would. After intermittent weeks of delays he informed me of what needed to done to the Jeep. This delay cycle was repeated with him telling me later of more work that was needed. It was a lot more money than originally quoted by him but I trusted him because he had glowing reviews; and I loved my Jeep.In conclusion, Dan does great work as was done on my Jeep. Unfortunately, there is a lack of professionalism Dan has shown towards me without cause when all I have ever shown him was patience.I have learned by my own experience with Dan that stellar reviews can be highly subjective and do not tell the whole story about a business. It was not easy for me to write this review but I felt my recent frustrating experience with this shop should not go unnoticed.
Quality service, fair price. Friendly!
Lot of knowledge and experience to help with what I needed.
When the rear end on my Chevy Silverado went out, I called Dan based upon the excellent reviews I saw on Google. I wasnt disappointed! He did an excellent job of communicating with me about a realistic range for the work before they started. Once they got the differential apart, he called me back to give me an updated price based upon what they actually found, which was right in the middle of the range he had provided. When I came to pick my truck up, the bill was exactly what he told me it would be--absolutely no surprises. Dan was respectful, personable and answered all of my questions in an understandable way. I will definitely be back because Im totally satisfied with my experience. I highly recommend Northwest Differential!
Known the owner for many years, and Chris does a top notch job on everything hes given. Always gotten a straight and upfront answer for work needed. There going to just tell you how it is. Hard to find these days
Great job, cost what they said. Truck drives fantastic!
This place is amazing I had needed a bearing press for my snowmobile twice no problems quick and perfect not only I needed help with a another project had nothing to do with drivetrain differential and they were on their way first thing in the morning with their personal vehicles the best couldnt ask for better people
Dan helped turn a nightmare around! Ended up with a truck with a cracked axle housing but couldnt find parts anywhere. We called Dan for trying to figure out how to make the truck safe to drive again as we couldnt afford a new truck. He got the housing welded nicely and helped fix a slew of other problems and now the truck drives like never before. He was so knowledgeable and helpful.
Great place to do business
Honest, reasonably priced, great quality work fixing my differential, and fast turnaround.
Called in for a quote and he was extremely helpful I plan on doing business with him
NW Differential repaired the my Ford Explorer rear differential for $450 cheaper than the dealers estimate. Not only that, but they do a good job too. They were incredibly knowledgeable and described further actions they were taking to make the differential last longer than the stock setup. I would recommend NW Diff to anyone.
Amazing small family shop!! Very homely and trustworthy.
I bought an older fixer-upper F-150 4X4 pickup, had it into the dealer for engine issues, and they told me the shift motor, of the four-wheel drive, was unhooked and wired up to the cross member. Well, I cant afford their hourly rate JUST to troubleshoot, and I had dealings with Northwest differential on my Ford Escape, so I took it over to them, and had them go through the whole drive train. They replaced the shift motor, serviced the front and rear differentials, the transfer case and the transmission, and even took it over to the muffler shop next door for me, WHILE they were waiting parts!I figured Id be out $1000.00+++ for everything they did, but was pleasantly surprised when the total came in a bit below that! These guys are friendly and honest. They will tell you if there are options available as to what parts they can get you. If you want dealer parts, they will get them for you. If you want to spend a little less, but still get good quality parts, theyll do that too!All in all this was a great experience.
Great work on my husbands truck, I would recommend them to anyone
Dan and his staff are very knowledgeable.
They know there stuff.
Had a truck towing a trailer break down on side of the road had to leave the trailer to fix the truck and I called them with my situation and they got me in emediatly less than 1hr later. Could not thank them enoughHighly recommend these ppl
This was one of the friendliest, honest, and helpful shops I have ever dealt with.
NW Differential performed an rear end overhaul on my Dodge Ram 1/2 ton and I am very satisfied with their experience, knowledge and work. Thank You!
Well they added a traklok and axle seal kit but actually did not replace the pinion seal or bearings. Pinion froze and brand new clutches roasted. Cutting corners sucks!!
Dan is great high quality repairs for a reasonable price.
Top notch customer service with the knowledge and quality work to back it up. I will not go anywhere else.
Great experience, friendly staff.
Dan is good guy
Thanks dan!
