Wonderful client services. Set up appointment via email. Very responsive. Kept in contact while working on my vehicle and was quick and efficient. I will be using them going forward for my car maintenance. Thank you!
They replaced the engine in our 2002 Honda civic. On time and good customer service at a fair price.I would recomend them for sure.
Had a major oil leak and needed emergency repair. They slotted us in same day and got it done in the blink of an eye. Quality repair, with better materials/parts! Price was not an arm/leg. I highly recommend!
Bro at front desk needs an attitude adjustment and im not talking about WWE
Went in on the hottest day on record on Washington and they got everything done in a reasonable amount of time. They were very professional and Jeff walked me through everything that was charged. Thank you guys for letting me get back to work
Better price for new spark plugs than other Eastside locations I checked, and service was great. I asked about replacing missing plastic fasteners that hold down the engine covers, and the guy at the counter walked out with me and showed me how to do it!
I used to go to apex auto which I absolutely loved, they had great prices, great people, and amazing quality. Then they changed owners and are now Monroe foreign auto. If I could give you zero stars I would!! Completely opposite of what Apex auto was. They wanted to charge me 1100 for something more simple (new brakes, brake flush and said I needed a new hose) so I left and went to les schwab, and les schwab charged me 500 initially then after deeper inspection went down to only 400 seeing some systems were still okay (thanks for the honesty les schwab) and said I did not need a new hose only brakes. Foreign auto also charged me about 80 dollars for the inspection which apex never did and neither does les schwab. Then I took the inspection sheet foreign auto gave me and gave it to les schwab and come to find out foreign auto didn’t even fill out my inspection sheet fully it was about 1/3 done!!! So les schwab did another inspection for free to make sure everything was actually looked at. This place is a rip off. You should refund my 80 dollars for a half done inspection. They charge double for everything than anywhere else!!!! Will never go back. Ever. I miss apex auto. Les schwab has a new customer! You try to say it was 868 but you forget the additional 200 plus dollars you guys tried to charge additional for work that needed to be done for again simple maintenance, so with that it was almost to 1100 including taxes. I had way more work done when it was just apex and the amount I paid was like 500 including water pump needing to be replaced. Foreign auto again is a rip off as the other car shop even said your prices were a rip off. I usually don’t leave bad reviews either but your pricing deserved it when I got other opinions
Awesome work from Brian and his team. In addition to my 40k service, they solved the mystery leak in my door. Good communication and pricing.
Great service and excellent customer service! Go see these guys for your automotive needs.
They did a great job fixing my Porsche, finding the part quickly and having me back up and going the same day!!
Ive been using this mechanics shop for a few years now. They are the BEST!! They have awesome prices and GREAT mechanics! They will actually only do what is necessary and what you have authorized. They will get your work done quickly and correctly. They almost always throw in some little extras that they dont charge for. We are truly blessed to have these folks in our neighborhood. If you are having any car issues, these are the best folks you can go to, bar none!!!
Super fast and very accommodating (I needed oil kept and stored for an analysis and keep the oil filter to inspect). Also a very fair price.I appreciated the communication and engagement to understand what I needed as a customer.Glad to find a solid shop!
Manager and staff couldnt be better. Knowledgeable, professional and personable. The manager I worked with, Jason, was very helpful and clearly super knowledgeable. I highly recommend this shop.
Took my car in without an appointment and Installed a new battery and did an oil change and I had my car back within a few hours. Will go to them again!
I was very pleased with the service that I got here at Monroe Foreign Auto. I took in my 2004 VW GTI that was having boost surge issues, and they diagnosed that I was having a poorly slipping clutch and I then had a clutch replacement done. This was an expensive job, but I was pleased with the result, and most of all, I was at work right down the street while the car was finishing up, and they actually brought my car to me around the corner while I was at work and got me the keys and everything. It was fantastic customer service, them doing something that they totally didnt have to do for me but it was the best experience getting car maintenance done at any place, ever. Thanks to Brian/Bryan for this.
After purchasing a used car and only driving it for only 100 miles before it broke down on the side of the road, we were in need of some answers. Luckily, we had our car towed to Monroe Foreign Auto. Bret was extremely helpful and empathetic to our situation. We told him that the repair would have to go through a warranty service, and he graciously offered to advocate for us by being the go-between. He gave us constant updates about the process of having the car repaired, and was able to relay what the warranty service was saying in reference to what that meant for us. He gave us sound advice and explained our options in a way that made us feel like someone was looking out for us. In the end, a fine print technicality in our warranty did not end up covering all the needed repairs, and any work done would have likely be coming out of our pocket. But instead of allowing us to be taken advantage of by a warranty service that would not commit to fixing the problem until a costly amount of work was completed, he told us the truth about the situation, and saved us a lot of money. We are extremely appreciative of Bret’s professionalism, kindness and honest approach to running a business and taking care of the vehicles in our community. If we ever have a need them again in the future, we will definitely take our vehicle to Monroe Foreign Auto Repair, as well as recommend their service to anyone else.
This place is awesome they do a great work and their pricing is fair
My wifes car broke down 350 miles from home. Brian and his employees took the car without hesitation and it turned out to be the high pressure fuel pump. Additionally the in tank pump was showing under pressure as well (yes there are 2 pumps on a 2012 VW CC) After removing the tank pump it was discovered that the tank pump was in fact ok so they put it back in NO CHARGE for labor. These guys are stellar and honest I would not hesitate to use them anytime!!!
I was Having Issues with my 2006 Volvo XC90, it was telling me that their was Low Oil Pressure and not to drive it. I am a single mother of 3 Children under the age of 5 and I was in a horrible spot because we rely on my car. I am also new to the Monroe area I have only lived here about 5 Months now. I immediatly started calling around and trying to find someone who would look at my car for a reasonable price, and who would not try to scam me because I am a women who honestly has no idea when it comes to anything with a car other then how to drive it. The first place I called tried to do just that tho, I told him what was wrong and he immediatly told me a needed a new engine without even looking at the car. So I said nope not going their and the very next number I called was Monroe Foreign Auto. I am so happy I found these guys, I talked to Jason first he was very nice and explained everything in detail to me, and answered all the questions I had. When my car arrived their they called me to tell me it was their and give me and estimated time for when they may know what was going on, They called me within an hour to give me the details and what was found. we talked about that. They quoted me and amazing price I was so relieved and then they had me back on the road by noon the next day.
Manager and staff couldnt be better. Knowledgeable, professional and personable. The manager I worked with, Jason, was very helpful and clearly super knowledgeable. I highly recommend this shop.
These guys are so wonderful. They are so kind and get the job done right. They also dont rip you off. They charge fair prices for the great work they do. And Brett is a great guy.
They did great work on my daughters Jetta
My husband and I are extremely pleased! Reasonable price and excellent service! They greatly exceeded our expectations. We will definitely return in the future.
Great service, great helpful people. I highly recommend if you need and honest repair shop and service.Thank you Kyle !!!
Needed an oil change and transmission fluid change for my Volkswagen, every other place i had gone to would either say they couldnt do it or would try to charge an absurdly amount. I called first thing in the morning gave me my quote within 5 minutes and charged me a fair amount. They gave me a ride home and completed it all within the day. They called me a week later to check I was all good, over all i can say they are trustworthy and reliable! Will be recommending this place to my friends.
What a great find! If you are looking for a place to have your car serviced and you are in the Monroe area this should be your first choice. I just moved across country with my family and wanted to make sure the noises my brakes were making were not something serious. They did the break inspection and determined nothing was needed. Prices were reasonable and they are AAA approved. I am a huge fan of small town businesses and will continue to be their patron.
Ive been taking my car to Monroe Foreign Auto for several years now. They take very good care of my little Prius C and me. I trust them to do good work at a fair price.
The folks at Monroe Foreign Auto Repair provide efficient, quality service on my vehicles. They are professional and provide excellent customer service.
This is the only repair shop I will use now. They have always been honest and upfront, which I really appreciate. I had work done on my truck a few weeks ago, and when the same issue started happening again - I was told to bring my truck back in. Monroe Foreign Auto was true to their warranty and took care of the problem at no extra cost. They take very good care of their customers and do excellent work!
I brought my old car in to get the starter looked at and get an undiagnosed issue resolved. Bret called me constantly to keep me updated and gave me a follow up call a week later to make sure everything was going well. I appreciate the professionalism I got here.
Very friendly and welcoming, they have great pricing, they work on all types of vehicles, we highly recommend them and will be taking all of our vehicles in for maintenance and repairs! Awesome local business!
The team stayed after hours to let me check in, diagnosed and corrected my electrical gremlin, and even helped load it back on my trailer. Nothing but high marks from me. Thank you for the quick help.
It is difficult to find a quality shop that will service high end imports. Monroe Foreign Auto Repair is clean and professional. Most shops will have oil pools and broken cars sitting around. MFAR looks like almost like a surgical suite for cars. They were very prompt with my service and actually took the time to learn my name. My BMW is the first import I have owned that I wont do my own service, so I cannot comment on costs. Usually, if you own expensive, you pay for it in all areas so Im not too surprised at the bill for my service.I would recommend Monroe Foreign Auto Repair to anyone.
What a great experience for me today when I had the oil changed on my vehicle, they were very friendly and made me feel at home, I would recommend this auto business to anyone that they service.
This place is absolutely awesome! I called on Thursday. They got me in on Friday morning. My car was diagnosed and fixed that same day. The price that I paid was very reasonable! They even offered to drop me off nearby at work when I came to drop my car off in the morning. I am extremely pleased with the amazing service! They greatly exceeded my expectations. I will definitely return in the future. Thank you monroe foreign auto repair.
I brought my Hyundai in for scheduled maintenance and, as always, my car was ready when they said it would be ready. They added on a brake job after checking them and finding them in need of replacement. Since the car was there, they were willing to replace the brakes then and I was good to go. These guys are excellent.
Very good service. Took me in the shop and showed me under my car and the damage, no one has ever done this. Did not feel like I was being taken advantage of because Im a girl. Gave me options and let me know the most important things to fix.
No pressure. Offered up our options, didnt pressure me to do everything and even explained the why of what he was proposing. Definitely will be bringing my vehicles back to him! Thank you Brett!
Quick and friendly
After sharing a problem with Bret and his team with my wifes Santa Fe, they quickly diagnosed it and gave me a quote to fix it. Had it fixed the same day before closing. Great work!
Long term customer here. These folks provide outstanding service and I place total confidence in them.
I was looking for a local Saab tech. Looks like a found one. I needed someone to install a stsrter, fuel filter and sort out the O2 sensor. I brought it in and it was done the next day.No up selling, the O2 sensors were a bit of a surprise, but well worth the improvement in performance. Its not easy to find a Saab Tech, looks like I found one, Thanks Jason !Eric Lindgren
My serpentine belt broke and AAA recommended Monroe Foreign Auto. While I was waiting to be towed, someone from the Fire Department stopped and asked if I was okay. He had just had some work done on his own vehicle at Monroe Foreign Auto and highly recommended them. He was right. Excellent service. I had been getting oil changes at one of those quick service places and was never told that the serpentine belt needed to be replaced. I am now getting my oil changed at Monroe Foreign Auto. I recently had my headlights buffed for better visibility and a new battery. Great service. I am not a good judge on price but seemed reasonable to me and the oil change was actually less than where I was going.
Mike and his crew are fantastic! My engine light went on (EEK!) and he was able to squeeze me in and fix my car that very same day. He was so helpful. He explained everything and made me feel so at ease. They did a fantastic job with my car too. I cant recommend this business more.
Happy to have mechanics we can trust to work on our vehicles no matter the make or the problem !
My vehicle was looked at sooner than the shop said it could have been, and completed to my satisfaction sooner than they said it would be. Also, follow-up call a week later was a nice touch.
Our van was repaired quickly and the service was great!
Honest. Efficient. Informative. Highly skilled. Fairly priced. Have been a satisfied customer for 19 years.
Mike is great. Friendly for a mechanic and smart about all makes and models. Hes worked on my sons car twice now for large repairs and both times have fixed the issue. He just did the shank shaft sensor that Condido (down the street) said was the fuel injectors. Glad I took it to the right place :)
Over $200 for an oil change because of a diagnostic fee that was not listed on the estimate. They wanted to replace an entire part that was going to cost us over $1k, took it to the dealer and they said it was a wire issue and fixed it for less than $200. Most places will look at an issue without charging you a ridiculously high fee. Like other comments say, Go somewhere else for diagnostics.
Honest service, prices are explained upfront, and all work is discussed. This shop does a great job working on my Nissan Xterra.
Remember the feeling of an auto garage that was laid back, easy going and made things simple. You match that with knowledgeable staff who work hard to do the job right in a timely fashion.Had my 08 Tundra taken there to be serviced. Water pump was bad, needed a new belt and thermostat. Dropped it off the night before, they took it apart the next morning, told me what it needed, had the parts delivered that day and called to tell me it was done around 2pm.Easy Day.
They provided quick service and repaired my car for a good price.
You Wont Be Sorry!Moved here from out of state. Needed service for my 2012 Nissan Armada. Saw the good reviews for Monroe Foreign Auto and thought I would give them a try. They did a fantastic job and now I will only use them for both of my vehicles in the future. Reasonable prices, personable and friendly service and they dont try to upsell you. Awesome place!!!
Update - 5 years later... same car, a few more visits, car running well, still happy with themAnother satisfied customer. They got my 10 year old BMW fixed up for a much better price and with a better overall experience than the dealership where I had always taken it since I bought it new. Plus they are close to where I live. I am very happy to know I have a local place to take my care now!
Helpful, informative ; but booked solid & behind on working on vehicles.
Took my 2003 Mini here they were amazing fast service very knowledgeable. Will be back here every time!!
I can’t say enough good things about Chad, the new owner of MFA. I had the clutch and rear main replaced in my older Subaru at MFA a little over a year ago. I was then transferred to DC, so I drove the car out there, put it in storage, and then drove it back to Portland. I’d only put ~7Kmiles on it. When I started driving it again, I noticed little pools of oil beneath it. A few oil change guys looked at it and said the rear main was leaking. I wasn’t happy. I called MFA only to learn that Bob retired and sold the shop to Chad. I talked to Chad about it and he said he would take a look if I brought it up. Well, before I could get it up there, the clutch went out. I had it towed to a local shop and they tore it down. The clutch disc had literally exploded, damaging the linkage, the fork, pressure plate and fly wheel. Upon further inspection, it turned out that the rear main wasn’t leaking – someone had failed to tighten a nut on the power steering line. Clips were missing, bolts were loose or missing. It really looked like shoddy workmanship.I called Chad again because I clearly couldn’t get the car towed to Monroe. What a nice guy. He didn’t have to do anything – the work had been done under Bob’s watch and Bob is gone – but he did. Chad offered to cover the cost of the replacement clutch, and when it became clear the fly wheel was damaged, he covered that too. I did end up having to pay labor, but in all, it worked out really well. Chad was very reasonable and helpful during the entire process. He was never rude or irritated, and never talked down to me as some mechanics do with women. I truly appreciate our interaction and would now recommend MFA to anyone. Everybody has a bad day, and shops can make mistakes - the true test is in their customer service, and Chad went above and beyond anything I expected. Thanks!
If you want a no hassle honest opinion about your vehicle take it here. You can generally get your vehicle in within a week time and there rates are honest.
Fair and honest. What more can you ask for.
Ive always received honest and courteous service. They are quick and friendly and get my car back to me as soon as they can. Much appreciated - thank you!
Hats off to this place! As Im sure you all know, finding an honest shop that delivers quality work can be a long road.Mike and the crew at M.F.A.R. are genuine and capable.
Like previous posts, if I could give them a 0 I would. These guys are unequivocally unethical. They charged $115 to give an estimate but didnt disclose a fee upfront so big surprise there! They also proceeded to start performing the work on the car WITHOUT getting consent. So I signed NOTHING, had to stop them from working on my car (over the phone) and then got charged $115. Also, I got a second quote for $400 cheaper for the same work.Expensive, dishonest hacks.
Fantastic service! They fixed our AC, but it went out a few weeks later. We called and they said to bring it right in and they would fix it at no cost. Incredibly honest and kind people to work with. Thank you Bob!
Always solid service from the guys at Monroe Foreign Auto Repair Fast, dependable, knowledgeable, they always go above and beyond!
Nice guys. Saved me money compared to the dealership. Also provided me with a lot of valuable info about my car.
Professional, friendly and honest. I definitely recommend this place .
Amazing! They repaired my vehicle in a matter of hours, at less than the quote, and Chad gave me a ride home in his personal vehicle while I waited. These guys are rockstars! When I got back to pick up my car, the mechanic spent an extra half hour answering all my dumb questions with patience and respect. Those guys are amazing! I will be taking my vehicle to then for the rest of the time u am living in the area. They are way better than the speedway chevy place!
We really appreciate the work that Chad and his crew at Monroe Foreign Auto Repair did with our car. We had put off basic maintenance because wed been looking for a good diesel mechanic for my VW TDI for awhile. When my timing belt went last month my car sat for a week at the Green Car Company and they still hadnt even looked at it. This left me scrambling to get to work and when we let them know we needed our car repaired in a timely manner they were rude to us and told us it was in the way in their yard. I had Chad pick up the car and he had it in his shop that very day, and back to me very quickly - even with major engine repair necessary. We would definitely recommend his shop - for any kind of vehicle!
If I could rate this a 0, I would.I had Mike and his team install a pair of headlamps into my Subaru which costed over $200. Now, 9 months later, I take it into Marysville Subaru because one of my headlamps burnt out already. I had a weird feeling about it, so thats why I took it to the manufacturer. After a quick review, they said it was in fact a wire harness that had melted because the headlamp was too close which means the bulb itself was installed incorrectly.I called Mike to try and resolve this issue politely, but even after him trying to argue with me and speaking to a Subaru technician he still denied the fact it was his teams fault for a bad install. CRAZY! I opted from arguing and asked if he was going to pick up the tab or tell me to stick it and move on...Now I am responsible for a $130 wire harness and install. Is that amount of money worth losing a customer over and receiving multiple 1-star reviews? I dont, but he does apparently.
For 6 years, Monroe Foreign Auto Repair is the only place I trust my Toyota Camry to for any service or repair. The first time I took my 3 year new Camry to them for routine maintenance, when I went to pick it up, Bob took me aside and said, I want to show you something. He then proceeds to bring out a disgusting, clogged, mold and mildew packed air filter, which turns out to be the Cabin Air Filter. I did not even know that my car had a Cabin Air Filter. What was more surprising, it was absolutely clear that it had never been changed! This was especially shocking since every service interval, had been performed by the Dealer. When I bought the car new from the Toyota Dealer in Kirkland, I prepaid for 3 years of service and faithfully had every single service completed there. Since then, Monroe Foreign Auto Repair is the only place I have my cars serviced. They keep my cars running like new and do all the work that needs to be performed at a fair price.
Great work, reasonable prices and knowledgeable
Fast, reliable service. Totally satisfied
Amazing service, great customer service, and my car drives great after this service. This was my first time to try them, and wont be last
Always accommodating & does excellent work!
Tried to cheat me out of over a hundred bucks when they did a diagnostic for my vehicle they didnt have me sign anything or say that it would cost anything, also didnt like that i didnt have there preferred insurance
I have always been happy with the service and workmanship at Monroe Foreign Auto. They even gave me a ride and picked me up when my vehicle was done. I recommend them when you need workers that you can trust.
$240 for an oil change and diagnostic. Then quoted $275 to change out a brake light switch. I did it in 20 min for $8
Quick and to the point. Fixed my car asap. Took them a few days to have time for me to get my car in but once they got it they were fast. We droped it off thursday morning got it back Friday around noon. Needed a whole new front axle. They even fixed our clicker for free for us. They didnt ramble on a list of bs that needs to be fixed like most places do to try and sqeeze that extra money from you. Just fixed your problem heres your car thanks. First time coming here but will definitely be comeing back.
Very helpful, great communication, excellent service. Thank you!
I would recommend this shop, I’ve had nothing but good experiences here.
Love these guys! Honest and trustworthy!!
They are keeping my 2000 Cabrio in tip top shape. Went in for 100k plus service...great job as always.
80,000 mile service and timing belt replacement. They did it right with replacing exposed parts that were needed. In 2 days...wow what a shop...
Great, friendly service
Always a great experience!
