I recently when in to browse their selection and narrow down what me and the wife were looking for. We were met at the door by Kevin, a great salesman who made it clear to us that he would do what he could to make sure we leave in a vehicle that meets our needs. After some comparisons and a test drive our decision was made. Next was checking to see what was available in the options we wanted, in comes the Sales Manager Alan. The options we wanted were not allocated at the moment, Kevin advised us to wait if we wanted until they were. Alan had the typical extremely pushy car sales pitch that made us second guess if we even wanted a Toyota. We left and compared at other dealerships up to 50 mi. from home. A day or so later, we called Kevin back to check on their allocations and with our luck, they had a few coming in about a week. Unfortunately every one coming was going to get a lift kit and wheel upgrade which would raise the price a little more than what we wanted. With the holiday weekend coming up, some got the upgrades put off and Kevin called us immediately! He let us know he transfered the deposit to the cheaper option and it would be available to look at later that day. When we arrived, Kevin immediately told us there was a mistake and Alan did not transfer the deposit. So if we did not buy that car right now, there was already someone that would buy it within the next couple hours, definitely being pushy and pinning us with our backs against the wall. Thankfully it was exactly what we were looking for and we bought it, had it not, we wouldve not ended up purchasing that day. Overall Kevin was a great salesman at 5/5 and Alan was the worst rated at 1/5, hence the 4/5 we rated. Kevin was the highlight and only reason we purchased the vehicle!

Aaron Rubalcaba and Rick Moncrief were really helpful. Aaron went out of his way and even kept me in the loop on the status of my trucks home delivery on his day off. If you go shopping for a new or used Toyota at Modesto Toyota dealer, you better hope you get Aaron to help you because he goes above and beyond for customers satisfaction.Definitely worth the hour trip I took to get here.

Went today. Had a On line appointment for 1120.... Didnt get out of there till 230... Had oil change and Multi Point Inspection on My Camry Hybrid...See like there was Alot of Angry People there. Cuz they were waiting so long... There is a Lounge there get free Coffee Tea .. In the Future I know what to Expect... Hurry up get in. Sit down and wait..

Friends don’t let friends buy a car from this place. I have dealt with this vehicle not making it over speed bumps & in driveways. It is so low, it did major damage & they refuse to make things right, blaming it on my driving. You can count on being hung out to dry. I am sure this is either going to small claims court or Superior court

Such a terrible experience here. We normally change our own oil but my husband and I are both working a lot of hours. We don’t want just anyone changing our oil so I make an appointment at Modesto Toyota. I get there 10 minutes early. The service lot looks like the zombie apocalypse has happened. Cars parked catywompus everywhere, no one in charge, nothing being managed. So I park and walk through all the salesmen standing around talking and doing nothing and go in to the service desk to figure out where I need to go because it’s not clear from the driveway mess. And I wait for several minutes for people to even look up from what they’re doing to help me. I get my car in, the guy who checks it in is very courteous and helpful. I wait 2 1/4 hours. (I had an appointment) and they finally call me up and tell me they can’t change my oil because I have a finger switch on my drain. You literally use your finger to switch it. Easiest thing ever. If you don’t want to do that you can unscrew it. Also easy. I asked additional questions, trying to ascertain where exactly this incompetence happened in the chain. Apparently the mechanic just didn’t want to deal with it. Okay. Major fail, Modesto Toyota. My household full of Toyotas will take our car sales and our service business elsewhere.

The experiences I have had on the phone with this location absolutely erased ANY professionalism or service I have received in person. It is not only impossible to get in touch with someone as they put you on hold immediately upon picking up, every person who has picked up the phone has had the WORST attitude imaginable. If you have employees who hate their jobs or hate talking to customers, then they are in the wrong industry. Abhorrent, unimaginable, and disappointing.

I took my Tacoma in for a 20,000 mile service and was told they could not do an oil change because they did not have the tools needed to remove the skid plate. The tools needed were an Allen wrench and a socket wrench. It’s very easy to remove and I was able to do it at home in my driveway in about five minutes. I would not trust them to work on my vehicle. I’ve never had this issue at any other Toyota dealership.

Excellent experience kinda pricey and well, I was not able to do those things myself so......Ive never been disappointed by Modesto Toyotas service. They communicated things as they were happening via text and asked my permission before performing any extra service. I will go back again.

Dropped off my vehicle on 6-4-2021 at 7:30am today is the 9th and have not heard from them at all, called them at 7:30am today they said they would have supervisor call me back in couple hours. its almost 4pm and still not call. Called them got transferred 3x and on the 3rd one they hung up on me. had to call back got same first girl Anna very nice she transferred me to a voicemail where i had to leave a voicemail - not happy with Toyota at all right now - never had this issue with them before but come on you have had my car for 6 days now with now info on what is going on!

Amazing service! I live in Turlock and went to Jiffy Lube there. They weren’t able to loosen the oil filter and suggested I go to the last place that serviced it. Off to Modesto Toyota thinking Im paying more and waiting longer. Talked with Steve the service manager. He took care of me right away with NO CHARGE! Almost bought a 2017 Pathfinder but I noticed that all tires were under 50% tread and two were getting close to bald. They got us down to table and lured us by entertaining idea of including tires. Then they turned 180 after saying theyd replace tires and said no way. Showed us bogus valuation numbers instead. Not only were we tricked but revealed how little they care about vehicle safety. I have two young kids and insisted if they want me to spend over twenty thousand on a car it should at least have safe tires. This company clearly values profit over safety. Beware.

Totally incompetent service department. They don’t even know about the services they offer. Had a simple question of whether the Toyota app could unlock our car (with three dogs locked inside) from them nobody knew and they transferred me to someone who couldn’t even pick up their phone. They assured me calling roadside assistance would be the quickest way to unlock our car. I explained to them we live remote and we would not be able to get a tow truck up here for at least half a day (had already called). Sick of people not listening, being incompetent at their job, and just not caring. Very disappointed.

This rating is mostly for the waiting area in the service center. The chairs are too small, they all have arms, and they are too close to the ground. Once they tried to charge me $40 to replace the cabin filter. They cost less than $15 on Amazon, and it takes about 2 minutes to replace it because its inside your glove box.However the customer service representatives are always great.

I took my car to get serviced there a couple days ago and they didn’t correctly place the bottom plastic cover. As I left the dealership i started hearing an unusual sound so as I pulled over. I saw that my cover was dragging on the ground. I had never had that problem before til i took it here to get service. I went back to the dealership to ask them to screw it in correctly and they said it was my fault that i hit something when I really didn’t .I was driving on a flat street. Finally they proceeded to make me wait 2 hours to supposedly fix it but they really didn’t when i got my car back I checked and it was still the same nothing was done to it.Never going back here

I had an appointment today at 1 o’clock at Modesto Toyota for a recall on my Toyota Corolla. I was reminded the night before by a lady of my appointment and was told that the appointment should take about two hours only. When I spoke to the assistant manager Mike Wilson he informed me that they were running behind and it would be much longer. I got upset because I had other plans for the remainder of the day. I could not imagine how wonderful Mike Wilson was for me to solve the problems about my car recall. He is not only good-looking and very smart and very knowledgeable but I also was very patient with me since I am in my mid-70s. He was very calming and assuring and work out the problem so that I could get my car in the two hours. He went out of his way to make me a satisfied happy customer. Modesto Toyota should feel very happy that they have such a great employee representing their company. He definitely outperforms anyone that I’ve ever had at the dealership help me. He directed me where to go was very kind and I couldn’t ask for more he is my superman for my car thank you Mike Wilson job well done ❤️I actually was out of the dealership before 3 PM I would recommend him to everyone. In today’s world employees do not behave as well as Mike did. He acts like it’s his business

Kim Larkin of Modesto Toyota puts Customer feel ashamed. Her comments with an attitude to me are: “The bulb replacement service is free and replaced, so that Police will not pull you over” and “I will put a notice in the (Toyota) Computer System, that on the next maintenance service, you will be charge on replacing the none-working-back light”. - - - On 19May, I have an Oil and filter change appointment. During service maintenance, I saw the 2 mechanics opening and dis-assembling the back part of my car back-door. I was confused why the mechanics were dis-assembling the back door which I have an oil & filter change ONLY. So I asked Kim Larkin if I could talk to the Manager. Kim Larkin directed me to the Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager could not understand me, so he asked Kim Larkin to find out what was my question. And he told her to get with the mechanics. (fast forward) The mechanic explained - he just changing the back light and showed me the paper work order. And I said Ok (no problem) and lay low. But Kim Larkin was started to shame me with low tone voice attitude. She said “That bulb replacement service is free and replaced so that Police will not pull you over. The next time bulb replacement service - we will charge you, I will put that notice in the (Toyota) computer. system.” I replied that “I will not return to Modesto Toyota anymore.”

The place is really nice and makes you feel like youre at home. The salesman Louis was extremely kind and polite. If it wasnt for the Finance Manager who couldnt take no for an answer, I would have rated this place 5 stars. If youre dealing with customers, I would recommend somebody with better charisma and not a no means yes mentality. Next time I deal with a finance manager Ill make it clear from the start what I want and what I dont want. It would have saved him his breath and 10 minutes of my time.

I wouldn’t recommend buying any extended warranty. I bought a used RAV4 with 3 year extra warranty. Driving down the road I heard something pounding on my car, saw that a thick piece of rubber weatherstripping had come loose and was beating on my car. Called Service to learn that this was not covered by my warranty. I’ll spend my money elsewhere if it’s no good here.

I went to this dealership yesterday 12-12-20 (without an appointment) looking to purchase the 2021 Camry XSE 2021 with the red interior. Sergio was very helpful and polite. He had mentioned that he saw one being sold and that he wasn’t sure if he had another one. He went out of his way to see if he had another one and since he couldn’t find it in the front he searched for it until he found it in the lot. He was very professional and knew a lot about the car that I didn’t even know (and I had looked at reviews online!). He answered questions that I had. Before I took off with the car after purchasing he made sure to give me a rundown again of the features to make sure I didn’t have any questions. I definitely would recommend going to him. He went above and beyond. If you go in or book an appointment you should definitely ask for Sergio.

Great dealership. I dont personally expect much from dealerships but this one is comfy for the wait when bring in my car for regular servicing. They usually over estimate on the wait times but TVs and a thriftshop not too far seem to make time fly. They have a good selection of items from vending machines. The bathrooms are usually quite clean. Their staff is friendly and helpful. What more can I say about a dealership, really? Its convenient, comfy, roomy, with a wide selection of cars to choose from if you ring buying.

I took my Avalon for a recall repair (air bags) and was very impressed at the cleanliness efforts.Your employees and most of customers were wearing face coverings. Hand sanitizer readily available and then the man who pulled my car around at the end wiped down the steering wheel, other surfaces and even the keys. Best car buying experience i have ever had.Kevin Miller approached me and my husband as we were pulling into the lot, introduced himself and went on to show us vehicles that were within our price range.His energy felt as if we were buying a vehicle from an old friend. Super laid back guy, easy conversation but got the job done in the same breathe.Kevin showed us a few cars that were exactly what we were looking for, and we took his business card and told him we were going to check out a few other lots first, and we went on our merry way.We went to three other dealerships but were back to Modesto Toyota in less than an hour.Two of the three other dealerships were pretty awful. One salesperson made numerous jokes about happy wife, happy life, implying that I am some kept woman/bored housewife (i wish haha) being showered with gifts to appease me or something.The other sales person LITERALLY was rubbing his hands together and licking his lips like how a slapstick comedian would imitate a car salesperson, and then he went and showed us three cars that were about FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS above our price range. This guy was an absolute joke of a salesperson.We just wanted to get back to Kevin at Modesto Toyota.We knew that we were probably going to be taking home a Toyota that day, but honestly we could have been easily swayed but Kevin and Chris are the reason we went for it.They showed me the pros and the cons of each year of vehicles they suggested I test drive, they didnt show us a single car outside of our budget, and we ended up driving away in a 2020 RAV4.Even the finance guy Sargon felt like an old friend.When my husband is ready to upgrade his truck, he will 100% be buying at Modesto Toyota with Kevin, Chris and Sargon or BUST!

BAIT AND SWITCH! This dealership cannot be trusted. Wish I could give them 0 stars. Found the perfect car for my first time car buyer daughter. She loved it, the salesman was great, we test drove it and she decided it was the one even though it was at the top of her price range. We sat down to look into financing and gave them all of our info. after over an hour of working with our salesman and manager, we were told that the car we were trying to purchase, was actually $3000 MORE! They sited human error when printing out the price on the window. They would not sell the car to me for the printed price, but they would give me $1,000 off. REALLY?? That just means you will charge me $2000 more than the listed price. Horrible way to treat a customer...and illegal to bait and switch someone at the end of a transaction! My daughter was so disappointed she wasnt going to get to buy the car she loved and I wasted 2 hours of my life, not to mention they ran my credit! NO INTEGRITY and you just lost a faithful customer Modesto Toyota, for your lack of professionalism and unfair business practices.

Absolutely awful experience. Came here with my girlfriend and family to help her find a car. The sales rep didnt know where any vehicle on the lot was, and didnt know much about the vehicles we were interested in. I was responsible for explaining the features and abilities of the vehicle she chose, and we were not shown any other options despite displaying interest in other choices. The only positive side was the financial department who was friendly and explained everything, but I think Im going to have to talk my girlfriend out of buying another Toyota after this experience. It was brutal.

“Few hour wait” to replace 1 piece of trim (under warranty) above glove box on 4runner held in by clips at a 9 am appointmentAlso service advisor Mike Wilson doesn’t wear his mask over his nose only his mouth, every other employee I saw including service providers wear mask correctly. He was wearing his mask like this on 3 separate times I was here.Mike Wilson also doesn’t check his text messaging from the number they give to ask questions about service etc. I text every 10 min for 2 hours straight with no reply. Sat and watched him inbetween customers and when it was slow he never replied.Why does Mike not have to wear his mask over his nose when every other employee wears their mask correctly ?

He responded to messages in a timely matter and was professional the entire time and did everything he could to make sure I was safe and back on the road as quickly as possible. No professionalism and bad etiquette. Absolutely their salesman (I don’t want to quote his name)needs training to treat every customer in a professional manner. Now a days most customers have more knowledge than their salesman. At least treat every customer with respect. When will they learn. If a customer comes for the second time to their yard at least think that they are serious car buyer. Don’t show his attitude. Anyways other Toyota dealer got the benefit. As simple as that.

When I made my appointment I was told that all employees and customers were required to wear masks. When I arrived there were two service advisors with masks under their chin and one with it under their nose. Talking, laughing and spewing their disgusting stuff all over the place. There was a guy in a button up shirt who looked like some kind of sales person walking around with his mask under his chin. I stood outside watching for 10 minutes and it was clear that this unsafe behavior was the norm not the exception.If this is how the front line workers behave I am certain the back of house people (mechanics and such) are absolutely not following safe covid protocols.This is why Modesto is getting put back into the purple tier. I left, I won’t go back.

Service is horrible!! The few women that work in the service department have very standoff nasty dispositions. A simple oil change takes 2 or 3 hours cause theyre always backed up. Unless you must go there run ...service is lousy!!!!!!

Not happy felt used, Everytime i go in there the salesman is wonderful and encouraging to sell but the main manager is greedy and makes you feel like you are an ATM ***every time it is **I need this many thousand to make it work, went across the street an bought a HYUNDAI and the staff there was remarkable, they made the process so easy as it should be. BC they want to sell a car. Modesto Toyota main manager has always been the same for the last few years.

They are relatively quick about the service when compared to other dealerships Ive been to. Clean and spacious waiting areas are a plus.My first issue with them is that the online serivce appointment calendar says theyre always booked for a week ahead but when I call to make an appointment they have plenty of openings just 3 days away!My other big issue is that theyre not just constantly pushing you for unnecessary services, theyre lying to you to do it. On 5/2/2018 Mike Wilson told me my scheduled service was one of the big ones! He prints out a quote for $696.44 because Im due for Engine Coolant and transmission fluid. (According to the handbook the Coolant is 100k and the transmission is good for the life of the car.) After this I started looking in my Scheduled maintenance handbook (PDF on phone) and he tried to stop me by saying or we could just do the oil change if you want. And then he immediately just handed me off to Jennifer V (who, by the way) has always been sweet and helpful every time I come it and never fails to smile).My last issue is that theyre not hesitant to charge you for parts and labor for a cabin air filter despite the fact that the glove compartment has been jammed shut for longer than Ive been coming to this dealership.
