New ownership is great! Clinic is renovated and very professional. The massage was great. I really enjoy the facial, it really helped clear up my skin! Thank you Massage Envy. I joined the membership so i will be back!
I give this business a 0 rating, but I have to give it one star or it wont post. The management is unresponsive and never available to customer requests. I submitted my 30 day, membership cancellation on February 6, 2020, nothing has happened. My credit card was charged again on March 8, 2020. Very poor management service. I would be very afraid to sign up as a member of this location (Modesto). Sad, because the people that work there are great, friendly and kind.
I’ve been coming here on and off for 4 years. Recently they reopened under new ownership, and I had the luck to have massage therapist Souporn, who has helped me immensely with my pains. She is such a pleasant individual also, and very responsive to when I ask her to adjust pressure and focus areas. I look forward to having more massages here. Front staff is friendly.

Went to your massage envy store located in Modesto CA. at 3:30pm on Wednesday 2-12-2020 to buy a gift card for valentines day. The door was locked I waited less than a minute and saw someone approach the desk. She saw me and approached the door I thought great Im going to get some service. Nope she said nothing and put a sign on the door saying back in 30 min and rudely walked away. I called the store within a few minutes and she answered saying its her lunch time. I see no reason why she could not open the door and sell me a gift card but can answer the phone on her lunch? Ive been a loyal customer for over 5 years even through this location was shut down and recently reopened.Your Company lost money today and will never get my money again.Am sure they get these complants all the time but hope someone talks to this owner in regards to this lunch time shutdown issue.
Amy is wonderful at her job, very great massage therapist. There was a little issue with the billing at first, but the girl at the front desk sorted it all out.
The absolute worst customer service!I used to love getting massages. Especially when the person knows you and you can go in and get taken care of. When I moved out to California though, I found it difficult to find a good place. They seem to like to attack the spine out here. Why?!?! It makes no sense to me. Anyway, I found massage envy and it looked like my kind of place, hopefully where I could find someone who actually listened when I said “please don’t bruise my spine up”I called the one in Modesto on McHenry and they just hung up on me (that should have been my first sign). I then tried booking online which after I verified my email, still said it was not verified and would not allow me to book anything (that should have been my second sign). I then called the Modesto one again and this time someone picked up. Seemed nice and didn’t have any appointments for that day but got me booked for the next day for when I got off work.I’m starting to look forward to it all day long, especially since my upper back is killing me. It’s hurting bad and I definitely need some pain relieved. I walk in and attempted to get checked in and it seemed to be taking a long time and the girl kept saying umm a lot....not looking good. I immediately confirm with myself the number I called and the location which the number belonged to and then also confirmed I was at that location. It all checked out. I was at the right place.She then says there is nothing booked for me so I asked her to look up by my phone number since the lady on the phone didn’t seem to understand that I said my name was Tia and may have wrote it down as Kia or something weird like that. She found me in the system and said “oh looks like you’re booked in Stockton” what?!?! So I show them my phone and the number I called and they said ya that’s us. So apparently the receptionist booked me for Stockton and didn’t tell me....why?!?! This makes no sense.At this point I’m hoping they will say something to try and remedy the situation. But the lady said “ya you’re booked in Stockton and we don’t have anything available today, sorry” basically saying “sorry go away now please”I used to work for a salon and if this happened we would immediately let them know how apologetic we were and offer something! Anything! Whether it be a different service that day for free or discounted for the inconvenience and then booking a massage for me for another day to ensure my return, or just discounting my massage which they would help me book for another day. Literally anything other than just saying sorry and giving me a look of please leave now.I’m not the kind of person to yell at the people there, clearly they aren’t going to do anything and it’s just going to make my day worse, but I sure as hell make sure to write a review. I used to love this place, but have recently canceled my membership due to their poor service. Their phones are always busy, Im placed on hold for long periods, and their staff is no longer friendly. Theyre always booked so I have a hard time setting up my appointments. Maybe its time to open another location to keep up with the demand ...? Your popular business has become not so popular with the level of service youre giving in return. You might want to have your front desk signed up for a massage. The latest times Ive been there they seem overwhelmed and just annoyed to help. Good luck with that type of service.
Went in for a massage for the first time today. The massage was great. Customer service from the therapist? Horrible. Anna was my therapist and from the start her customer service was a 1 star. She didnt introduce herself, didnt smile once the whole time I was there and did not explain how or what was going to happen. After she said we were done I was confused because it was not a full hour. Being my first time, I was unaware that the session is only 50min hands on, 60min session total. I also was misinformed that the deep percussion add on was included in that 50mins not on too, even though it is an additional cost it is not additional time added. After the massage I asked Anna about my time and she snapped right away at me. Saying well I dont know what to tell you. I have an appointment in 5 mins so i cant do anything. Someone told you wrong. You can see our protocol if you want. I dont know what to tell you. I told her that when I called the day before and asked how long my whole experience would be they said 1hr 10min. My whole experience was 60mins from the time I walked in the door. Mind you I had two sets of paperwork to fill out and had to change. Anna proceeded to walk out of the room and go to the receptionist Adri. I could hear from my room that Anna was extremely rude to Adri. Adri was so apologetic and understanding with my experience with Anna. Even Adri said she felt attacked by Anna and no other therapist has ever talked to her the way Anna did. For someone going in for their first time, this experience does not make me want to go back. Its a shame because I went in feeling tight and anxious and I walked out feeling even more anxious because I felt attacked for asking a few questions to my therapist. Thank you Adri for working hard and providing me with excellent customer service. 5 stars for Adri. 1 star for Anna. 4 stars for the massage.
This company essentially stole $80 from me. I had a $100 giftcard and when I went to use it it rang up $39.99 which meant I lost $60 off my giftcard and had to pay $20 for my FREE 1hr massage. Ive been trying to reach corporate 6 different times since Sunday 12/8. I strongly advise you not to get giftcards here and besides that I would never go back to a company who doesnt abide by the law(giftcards must hold its cash value no matter how long ago it was purchased and they do not expire) or contact their customers after several emails and voicemails. Massage Envy is the WORST.
My massage therapist is excellent! Shandra is always very professional and consistent in her technique of massage. I have never been disappointed. Ive been going now for 12 months.

Well, the young man who answers the phone is very rude. Can’t be bothered to answer questions. Have been trying to book a couples appointment, or at least 2 that are staggered closely together. Nothing is ever available due to only have two people working there. Told I can’t book a couples massage that far out. Well if nothing is available for 2 months why am I not allowed to book? It’s just terrible. I walked in on day. To a kid with headphones on having to wave at him to acknowledge me. He was busy eating and playing in his phone. When asked about services. (This was at 2pm) he said nothing avalaiable. Everyone went home. Asked him to look for openings. He rolled his eyes as if I was asking too much, so I walked out. Won’t be trying to book here ever again!!!

Agree that another location needs to be opened. I live up in the foothills and can go to Stockton, Modesto, or Tracy (whichever has an opening) but Modesto is where I bought my membership. Its been getting more and more difficult to get an appointment at any of these 3 locations. Once I use up my accumulated massages (that I have a hard time using due to being booked up) I will likely cancel my membership.
