They had a courtesy puppy up for adoption and I was lucky enough to meet these amazing people they had already given its sibling away unfortunately and lucky enough I was able to get the other puppy that they had that was another courtesy puppy and thanks to mobile SPCA I was able to adopt a beautiful little baby boy and hes an amazing puppy and I think these wonderful individuals for getting me in touch with these people so I can adopt my baby boy🥰🥰🥰

The only thing I can say about this place is they are not open on the weekends which makes it difficult for people to adopt pets who are only available on the weekend. If they were to run some weekend hours every now and again this would be a better place.I would like to thank the owner of the SPCA for their prompt response. I was unaware that you were open on Saturday, when I call during the week I was told that you were never open on the weekends so I apologize for the mix-up. I am Overjoyed to hear that you are open on the weekends and would love to come by and a got a new friend. Would definitely like the opportunity to amend my review Once I have visited and gone through the adoption process

The Mobile SPCA is awesome!! I couldnt fully afford for my sick cat and when I called them for assistance, they told me they would donate $30 directly to the vet of my choice! Simply amazing people!

I can truly say I will not ever return to this place. Me and my boyfriend wanted to adopt a dog from here and we were lied to by the staff. They told us that he came in with a brother (Huey) whom had already been adopted and that we couldn’t begin the process for adopting him (Louie) because he was to be the pet of the week and we had to wait a week to allow other people to see him, this was Saturday and they had already limited which dogs we could choose from because of where we lived. We expressed that Louie was the one we wanted and that we’d be in touch. On Monday morning we watched the pet of the week because we wanted to see Louie but he was not the pet of the week, his brother Huey was, the same one they claimed had already been adopted. Since they are closed Monday we called all day Tuesday and received no answer. On Wednesday afternoon they sent us an email saying that we were not fit for Louie because we didn’t have a fence and he is now adopted. After being lied to, ignored, and discriminated against for where we live, we know we could never trust an organization that would flat out lie and then insult us with a poor, material excuse such as a fence.

I went to get vouchers for my girls to get fixed today and the ladies working were so sweet. There was like a cuteness overload in that place as well! Theyre angels up there for what they do! Blessed be yall ❣️

Great place with a very good cause as the work they do helps poor innocent animals to survive . please donate whatever amount of dollars,time or to their thift store to help them continue with their wonderful work

Well obviously they care for the animals! Very strict adoptions policies and are not afraid to call you out for being a poor pet owner! Made me realize that maybe I’m not ready for a pet right now. Great staff and great business in general considering the reasons they even exist. But seriously, dont shop instead adopt! Keep your fur babies healthy and spay/neuter to help prevent more having to be stray/euthanized. This place can & will help you with everything!

I had to recently deal with these guys and l am going to give them a three star. Not because of there attitudes or bad customer service but because of what seemed like a lack of help you get here. I needed them to help with my baby because l had no choice but to rehome him because of where we are moving and they only thing they would tell me was sorry we are full and dont know any place that will help you. I thought these guys were the one you turn to when you get caught in a situation like this but l was wrong. These guys were just like the rest just the very basic were sorry we cant help you. I hope in the future they maybe see this and use it as a wake up that people need help sometimes. I had no choice it was either my kids and place to live or my fur baby. This pandemic is hard enough already and finding a place is harder and they wouldnt allow my baby because he has what the landlord believes is a small part of pit in him. It broke my heart and to be honest l was referred to these guys by several people only to get the basic response.

Worst spca I have ever been too

I can say that the mobile spca was very help with trying to get my female dog spade. They even sent me a $10 of coupon that a generous amount of vets take. They helped me out with the office visit fee. They are a little slow in the response time to call you back. They call you back however. I say THANKS Mobile SPCA and all animal support places.

Picked up a lost pit and took him here to see if they could locate a chip. This place was clean and very helpful. I found the owner and returned his dog.

Terrible attitude even on their phone greeting that is totally unfriendly, place is not so clean and made us feel pitty for the dogs, we tried this time to drop a donation of dog food, towels and other goodies but had no option to talk to anyone, we were parked outside their gate and saw cars inside but no one answered the 4 phone calls we made, have donated there before but always felt as if we owed them so this time we decided to go to the CITY OF MOBILE ANIMAL SHELTER where we found an extra clean place, happy dogs, and extremely grateful and friendly personnel who received us with open arms. I Strongly suggest you make your donations at the City of Mobile shelter at 855 Owens Street in Mobile, your heart will thank you.

Do not! Support this non profit! This place does not adopt to African Americans . My friends and I all applied for potential adoption and we were all approved, out of all of us(black and white) NONE of the adoptions were with people of color. Join us in boycotting this establishment. We have been experimenting for months, they are unwelcoming and unpleasant and it’s sadly affecting the animals going to good homes. People are willing to take in animals and they turn them away because of the color of their skin. Lets make a change in the dynamic of this city. Our next step is to reach out to news outlets and social media there is no room for racism in this town. We will not be silenced.

I volunteer here often, they take great care of their animals. However, they can always use help and animals will always need homes! They’re super friendly and they will help you find the best dog or cat for you!

We were fortunate enough to be selected to give a forever home to little Foxy the Tripawd Sheltie pup. She doesn’t know she’s missing a leg and plays with her big sister Dixie like any other pup would. We thank the Mobile SPCA for everything they did to help Foxy recover from her accident and would recommend to everyone to rescue their next pet. They know they were rescued and treat their owners accordingly.

Went for a neuter/spay coupon. When they opened the doors, they were fast and efficient as well as friendly. If you are going for coupon you need to call and find out what day they are handing them out and get there early! I got there at 8:17 and by the time they opened the door the line was out to the street! Well worth the wait though!

Ive volunteered here twice so far and Im in love with this shelter. The animals are all wonderful and the staff is friendly/helpful. I love the process they have to make sure the animals will go to safe and loving homes. They all care about the animals and will do anything to make sure theyre safe. Ive never met a better group of people working together nor better animals. I look forward to volunteering as much as I can.

We saw a video on the news about a young Sheltie who needed special care as due to a accident became a tripawd puppy. We were so happy to be able to adopt Foxy and she has been a blessing in our home. Our other Sheltie, Dixie, loves her and they have become inseparable sisters. Our home is complete ❤️

They are the best. My husband has been looking on line for a miniature or toy poodle or poodle mix and nobody has responded back but them. They know every dogs name and history. We are looking at adopting Bells she just arrived that week so shes not ready to be adopted yet. Her owner could no longer take care of her and had to go into an assistant living home.

I am so happy with my new baby he has bonded with me so nicely I hate that something is wrong with his hind legs but will see what the vets say Monday he is still so shy around other people and am having a time house breaking him but we are getting there I do love him so and have only had him a week now he does like to ride in the car he has his own little basket to sit in and he loves it

How can you not love the SPCA? The care and dedication the team shows to all the furry creatures are far above expected.And how does the entire staff memorize 100 pets names? I have no idea. Its becoming so declassé to mention your breeder. Youll get far more respect saying s/hes a rescue of course. No more dirty looks from your neighbors.

My husband and I are interested in adopting a kitten into our home. After reading the previous review, I was afraid to go to the Mobile, AL. SPCA. I decided to give it a try and was I pleasantly surprised! The woman that greeted me was one of the nicest people I have met since living in Alabama. She was friendly and truly interested in what I was hoping to find in a kitten. The facility was well staffed and clean. I would highly recommend visiting if you are thinking of adopting a dog or cat into your home.

Weve adopted several pets from the SPCA over the years. All of the animals are well cared for.

I have adopted two dogs from here and both my fur babies are amazing!! I love the events they put on to raise money for the abandoned lost puppies and kitties. The staff is wonderful to work with and really try hard to make sure those fur babies go to good forever homes. I will be sure to get any and all of my babies from there.

I have rescued twelve cats. SPCA gave me enough coupons to have them spade, and, neutered. Very friendly, had people moving along quickly. There was a lot of people, I was out in twenty minutes.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. They will speak to you and then leave you searching for them after even when their is a member there see you LOOKING for assistance. The young lady who is a red head is rude! You have to complete an application prior to looking at their pets and I listed the pets my mother owned to show I have prior pet ownership and they asked for the vet information. I stated they are not my pets and are my mother yet they wanted the information even though these are NOT my pets. She then tells me to state on the application they aren’t my pets and then leaves me! I can’t see how they have I’ve 4 stars with this service... just rude many wonder why people buy instead of adopt.

Mobile SPCA is a wonderful place! Nothing fancy, but they take good care of the animals and are very helpful. I adopted my perfect dog from here. He was already crate trained, microchipped, neutered, up-to-date on flea/heart worm medication, and well socialized with other dogs. Highly recommend visiting these folks!

Just visited the Mobile SPCA resale shop itself. Had some decent items for sale. A few items way over priced but otherwise a good visit.

Wonderful people - we found a new family member there in 2012! The need is great and they work very hard for the animals!

Just wanted to look around. Checking for a certain type/bred of dog that will fit into my family. It felt like I was applying for a loan on a house I couldnt afford. I agree with checking out people who adopt an animal. But not make people who are just looking go through all the BS. One person I dealt with was a complete sweetie, the other older lady was SO RUDE! Other than that, it was great.

I adopted my two poodles from the Mobile SPCA and they are the best dogs Ive ever owned. The SPCA tested them for heart worms, microchipped & spayed them and they were up to date on vaccinations. Healthy & loving dogs! I found the adoption fee very reasonable. I appreciate them for all they do for the homeless cats & dogs in Mobile and would recommend them to anyone looking to adopt!

It’s pretty sad that they will not even allow a 20 year old to look at what animals are available! They can fight adie for their country, have a driver license and concealed carry license and many other things but cant even view the animals,, I will never donate to them again and never bother with this place again because that’s rediculous

Helped me take in a dog that I couod not keep anymore for personal reasons. Very well kept inside for animals running around. If you have to adopt or want to adopt from anywhere this is the place to do it.

Call for information concerning cat neutering lady was really informative and also sent me a coupon for $10 she was very helpful

They are a wonderful organization. They offer assistance for spay and neuter. They have a place to look at puppies as well.

We adopted our dog four months ago. We had a great experience, and found a sweet girl that fits into our family perfectly. We reached out to a SPCA volunteer, and explained our family size, ages of kids, and a few preferences. They got back to us a few days later with their recommendation. We met her, and she was it! Thanks Mobile SPCA!

This is the second time I have gone to this place looking to adopt an animal. The first time I went was a few years ago looking to adopt a small cat with my brother. We walked in and everyone just looked at us and ignored us. We finally said we are looking to adopt a cat and one woman looked at us and said well if you arent 21 you cant so and seemed so annoyed we would even bother her. She then told us they had NO young cats (which is a lie because I volunteered at the other one people who had small kittens) and told us no shelter has small cats. I went today and was once again just looked at and I told them that there were lab puppies I was interested in adopting. They told me they had none and I told them I had friends come play with them and have pictures. The woman looked shocked and said they arent labs and said they were being transferred up north and I could not adopt a dog from an ADOPTION/RESCUE agency?! She goes you can look at them and left me there not letting me know of any other adoption options. I then asked her why we couldnt adopt them and she said it was because they werent meant for the weather down here. I then asked if they had any puppies for adoption and she said no and left me again. This place is the sketchiest place I have ever been. They lie to people wanting to adopt. There is something not right with it here. Employees are rude and do not care if you are wanting to adopt or not. I will never come back here and will make sure others will not as well. They do not want to help and are sketchy because they lie.

I was going to be sent info on the Info on getting my dogs fixed,it was never sent to me,as they said they were. That is why three stars .they are doing great otherwise.

Really cant say nothing other than good job

MSPCA cares about animals and the right treatment of them. Most animals are really sweet and love to be loved! Each doggie and kittie who lived with our family over the years had a special character and way to communicate their unconditional love and affection. They loved to play! Our two kitties, who are now with us, love to play and receive lubbings, I call it (a combination of love and rubbing at the same time). They surely love their lubbings! Especially, around the head area. Sometimes, they sit in our lap and, sometimes, beside us. We love them, too. 🤗
