We had to take our precious furbaby Lulu. We were changing the oil in the lawnmower when Lulu took the old filter. Needless to say we didn’t notice. She became very sick so I called her Dr. MedVets number was on the recording. She had to stay overnight. Luckily for her she passed everything she ingested. We had many updates and were happy to get her back. ❤️

Have used MedVet twice for after hours emergency for our dogs. They helped our old dog pass peacefully. Two of our dogs were bitten by a pit viper on Labor Day. They spent the night in the hospital. The vet updated us every 3 hours or so and sent pictures of them. Fortunately, they both have recovered. Im so grateful they were able to treat them immediately. The staff were all polite and very kind. Minus one ⭐ because they are very pricey.

I recently took my old cat in to get put to sleep and the staff was amazing. You can tell they truly care about the pets and their people. They made sure that my kitty was as comfortable as possible and I am very grateful for that.

This place is triple the prices of your regular vet just because they call themselves an emergency center and are open 24 hours. I had a friend that had an $800 bill and they literally locked her inside until she paid it. And if you cant pay the bill, they keep your animal until you pay it. They want $135 just to get in the door! The rest is history! They are thieves just like insurance companies and banks. And all they do is get your animal stable so you can take it to your vet when they open up. So, you pay them hundreds and in most cases thousands, then you go to your vet and pay hundreds! My cat had diabetes and her kidneys were failing. They gave her fluids under the skin and pain meds for right under $700. We were there 30 minutes. Theyre crooks and they know it! Their own tech told me to take her home, try to feed her and give her water and just hold onto her until the next day when my vet opened. I was stupid and didnt listen to her. Theyre crooks and they know it! They arent specialty vets or anything. Theyre regular vets and they do the exact same thing your own vet would do, except they triple the prices. My vet is the one that recommended them! After he saw the bill for what all they did, he lost it and told me hed never recommend them again and actually apologized to me! TAKE YOUR PET HOME AND JUST HOLD ON FOR YOUR VET! Unless youre rich and dont care! Theres NO WAY I would recommend this place! I wouldnt even recommend it to a rock!

My Lil Bootsy gal has been to MedVet on two separate occasions, both life threatening. These people saved her life both times. The women there who had a hand in her recovery I owe my life to them! No words, no gifts, not all the money in the whole world couldnt add up to what they deserve for saving any life! They took Bootsy in as soon as they seen us at the door, ask a few important questions as well as keeping me informed of her status, and everyone I talked to were very friendly and understanding. Forgive me if I worded something incorrectly and last but not least Thanks everyone at MedVet!!, and Thank you God!!, for giving us folks like them and furry animals like my Bootsy gal cause they sure give love, laughter, and life back to so many others!

Everyone is so sweet, thoughtful and caring!!! Most of all supportive of the stress that the owner is going through of our beloved family pet members. Thank goodness for these wonderful people, without them my baby would of died. She went into cardiac distress over the weekend and we are so thankful they were open.The staff and doctors were amazing with keeping us updated with her progress. I highly recommend them if your fur babies have a medical emergency.

Dont trust these vets AT all. They will quote you something WAY outside any normal hard working families price range for treatment and most of the time their diagnosis is completely false and unnecessary not to mention the only solution to save your potentially dying animal is to either come up with the money they want or care credit which really isnt a viable option for most people living paycheck to paycheck. I have been here 3 times and every time, they told me my pets needed extensive surgery or expensive treatment or even euthanasia, i declined, brought my pets home and they were completely fine. Will never and i mean NEVER return to this god awful place ever again.

Very overpriced and didnt give the proper dosage of medication to our family dog. Our dog needed surgery and they did not tell us this. We found out the next day after calling another vet due to the cream they provided to us not working. She could have died had she not have had the surgery the other vet performed on her. Please do not take your animals here if you genuinely care for them.

Last year on February 18 Dr. Bufkin did a bi- lateral TPLO surgery on Babygirl. I was unable to bring her in for her final exam at the end of her recovery period because of job relocation. MedVet in Toledo did her final post op exam and I am happy to report that everything healed up perfectly. Today Babygirl is back to 100% . She can do everything she used to be able to do before her injuries. I cant thank Dr. Bufkin and the entire staff at MedVet Mobile enough for taking such good care of Babygirl and for reassuring me that she would be fine. Needless to say I was upset and nervous when I dropped her off for her surgery. However, like I said the staff was very compassionate and reassured me she would be fine. Once again Thank You So Much for getting Babygirl back to 100%. My 16 week old golden retriever puppy ate a piece of sago palm, I live in Pensacola & all of our ER vet clinics here refused to see him until I got ahold of poison control (I was on hold for 30 minutes) my puppy gradually became more sick so my last resort was MedVet. The receptionist was so sweet & told me that they would see him right away & to get him loaded & head over, she would ask me information on my way there. Bear has been there since Sunday & he is doing so much better! I love that I was able to video chat him to see how he was doing; he seemed super happy! I also love that they would give him walks everyday, this office gave me so much peace of mind in such a difficult & scary time for me, yes their treatment is expensive but your pet will be in great hands! Thank you to the MedVet team for saving my puppy! I am so grateful for the compassion from your team❤️

They are rude when they know ur are at ur most vulnerable.. and they are robbing us blind bc we love our pets.. they are a money hungry people.. nit people who love and want to help animals... Its just sick how they pray on the broken-hearted and the people who dont have 1200$ plus to drop on a dime...

Extremely expensive but the only 24-hour option for emergency veterinary care in this area. I do feel like the vets had good intentions and were compassionate, but the prices were unreasonable for anyone making a median income or less. I had my cat there for about 5 days and in all it costs me close to $5,000. She was in DKA and getting IV insulin, fluids, and tube feeds. They wanted to keep her there longer but I could not afford to spend any more. I feel like to an extent they gave me some false hope that her prognosis was better than it actually was. I took her home after the 5 days and gave her subcutaneous insulin but she continued to get worse. When I took her to a regular vet 2 days later, they were more honest with me and said her chances of recovery were slim even if she was readmitted to the ICU with full care. They said cats with feeding tubes tend to do poorly, something I was not told at Medvet. At that point I made the decision to humanly euthanize her. Unfortunately I lost both my cat and thousands of dollars. I would have preferred for Medvet to be more frank about how sick she was upfront. I can’t help but feel like they gave me false hope so they could order more tests and make more money. I especially regret letting them place a feeding tube in her; she looked so miserable with it and I think she lost her will to live after that.I have definitely learned my lesson from this experience: purchase pet insurance for your pet and take them to regular check ups, even if they’re young. My cat was only 3. It’s much better to have a relationship with a regular vet than to have to take your pet to one of these ER vet places.

When you and your pet are faced with an emergency situation, go here. Your pet is in good hands at MedVet Mobile. I brought George, my French bulldog, to this clinic after he swallowed part of his stuffed animal toy. While on surface level, the problem appeared to be ingestion of a foreign object, MedVet identified a more serious congenital abnormality. George is 2.5 years old with a history of difficulty feeding and vomiting. We chalked it up to him being a picky eater and never thought to look further. X-rays revealed a diaphragmatic hernia that he was born with, where parts of his stomach, intestines, and even part of a kidney were outside of where they should be pressing on his lungs. Surgery was scheduled the next morning, and one day post surgery George is safe and sound back at home with me. MedVet communicated with me prior to any decisions being made regarding George’s care plan, before and after surgery, and throughout his recovery day. We were discharged with clear instructions for how to take care of George at home while he recovers. Great experience from start to finish. MedVet has significantly improved Georges quality of life, and I am so grateful. Thank you to Dr. Maertans, Dr. Bufkin, and all the medical staff at MedVet for taking such great care of George. You guys are heroes!!

Overall bad experience 👎 *I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place * Staff had bad attitudes and did not deal well with our injured pet or upset family. Maybe they can take some classes on compassion, working in this field thats a good thing to have.

Absolutely way over priced! They quoted us a price then five minutes later raised the price and ran our card before they did anything. $1800 for a spider bite. No surgery. Just oxygen, steroids and antibiotics. Never again!

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a vet. all of the bad reviews for this vet are correct. Drive to another city to find another vet. It takes hours for them to see the vet, while your pet is sitting in the back dying. The staff is not friendly. They were asking how much money I had to spend to treat my animal accordingly... honestly a very unprofessional way to go about things.. and multiple times of brining up money definitely helped paint the picture of their intentions in their practice. My dog was poisoned and they didn’t treat her for 3 hours after getting her that they couldn’t get all the fluid in her because she was losing the ability to swallow. She’s yelping in pain and in the no better condition than when I brought her in. I wish I would of drove to another city or state because the wait time would of been the same. Almost $700 gone just to get some fluids and anti-nausea medicine in her system, nothing more. Listen to the reviews, do not go here. And Medvet, do not reply to this review with your copy and paste message, there is nothing you can do to improve the terrible experience you’ve give me and so many people, and your poor service is letting animals suffer.

Paid $140 for the exam (baseline fee for everything) just for the vet to tell me literally nothing without me paying more money for a diagnostic that my pet only had 1 symptom for. Will never use them again, and I highly recommend waiting for another vet appointment unless it is a life or death situation for your pet and theres literally no other options.

Took our pet there and after a few hours we were told in order to run any test they needed us to pay $1800 up front that after everything it would be at least $2200 once we got him back. So we paid 134.00 for the vet to call us and say he wanted to run test....very unbelievable and sad !!

MedVet exceeded my expectations!! They are so kind, from the front staff, to the nurses to the doctors. They make you feel heard and in good hands while they hold the precious life of your beloved animal in their hands. I am so grateful to MedVet.

This is the first emergency vet we have ever had to use. Our dog was bit by a venomous snake this past weekend and MedVet was the closest place to us. They were very responsive and kind to deal with. They explained everything to us and for the most part we understood what was going on and the treatment plan for our baby. Yes, it’s expensive but just like an ER for humans, it’s going to be more expensive...that’s just the reality of it. Honestly, money wasn’t an issue because I would’ve spent anything I had to save his life. In the end, we ended up receiving a credit because they did not need to utilize the ‘funds’ of our deposit which was a nice bonus. Very grateful for the staff and doctors that took care of our Bentley.

Incredibly slow and cares more about the money then the pet

My local vet sent us to MedVet when my Chorkie was hit by a car on Thanksgiving morning. We called on our way because we knew her condition was critical. They took our information as we traveled to Mobile. They kept us informed as they assessed her and as they communicated with a surgeon in New Orleans. Ultimately it was decided there was nothing that could be done for her and she was euthanized. The nurse that called to go over the paperwork with us cried with us as she read it. They brought Pippa Grace out so we could be with her and say our goodbyes. The entire staff was so kind and compassionate during the entire process. About two weeks after her passing, we received a sympathy card signed by the entire staff. They are amazing and go above and beyond.

Every staff member from front desk to nurses to doctors were compassionate, professional, caring and exceptional professionals.I will not hesitate to go back if needed. My fur baby is still with me because of their effective team.

Medvet cares more about money than they do your animals well being. I needed medicine for my dog and she was seen at this location a little over a week prior. They had her medical history on file and knew that she took this medication on a daily basis. Medvet refused to supply us with this medication without providing a full exam on her ($134) extra dollars.

I was referred to MedVet by my vet to get an intestinal obstruction out of my lab. That same evening around 11pm they fixed Max and sent me updates with pictures of him recovering during the early morning. My whole experience with MedVet was great. Thanks MedVet.

I had to select one star to leave a review,I dont think they even deserve one star. After being charged $130 to walk in the door we were charged $310 for a parvo test, that then leaves $300+ for a couple shots bringing the bill to $700+,the parvo test results were negative they said. Thats when they wanted to know how we were going to pay. Because my friend didnt have $700 on her,they acted like they were doing her a favor by charging half making the bill $350,I had to pay some of that for her to get her dog back and then they discontinued services for the dog. It turns out that the dog did have parvo and died because she didnt have money to see another vet in time. I called a vet that I have used in the past and she told me her office visit was $20. And a parvo test was $39.00. I just want them to know that they didnt do anyone any favors by taking this womans money for a misdiagnosis and refusing to treat the dog. It was a terrible experience and I hope they change their was.

My Cat had a miscarriage for her first litter and had trouble passing them through, took her up there just yesterday and was told given 2-3 days she would pass them no problem and be back to normal, sounded kinda funny to me at first I don’t understand how a 12 pound cat can handle being in labor for 3 days but I took their word for it, and my cat passed away tonight, will never come back here could’ve been so easily prevented.

The doctors, nurses, and staff are amazing. They kept me updated on how my furbaby was doing and was ok with me constantly calling for updates. I love them.

I have taken 3 fur babies here for various energency issues. Although they are always super busy, they take the time to give care to your pet as quickly as possible and give consistent updates. They are professional and have a friendly staff and give great service. They really care about your pets needs and care about their well being. I will always use them when I cannot get in to see our regular vet during business hours. Amazing vet office!

Very over priced!! They will say the fee is $130 and then add another $40 for “nursing care” so really the upfront fee is $170. They have strong opinions on how you should care for your dog and make sure you know you’re being judged for whatever happened that was out of your control. They took almost 2 hours just to tell us what they wanted to do in the mean time did nothing to help him besides stick him in a cage. I will never take another pet here even if they are dying.

Dr Martin was patient and kind with my mother whos cat was injured. He and the team gave great advice and dealt with her grief well. The cat ended up healthy and happy.

Dont read into the bad reviews on this place! I was expecting the worse and being charged a lot! These people really do care about animals and are reasonably priced!!! They required a deposit which I got money back, honestly they can keep the extra 50.00. My dog hunter was diagnosed with cancer and needed a specialist to remove it from his nose. I went in for an appointment to talk about the plan for my dog. I have worked in the animal field for many years and I was so impressed with all of the staff. The front staff are on the ball they knew who my dog was and me. The techs were very smart and answered all of my questions with no hesitations. The doctor is very talented and treated hunter with care. For something that was very scary for our family all of the staff made us feel so good. Not to mention I called to check on him alot and they never cared they were so nice that to me was so important. Oh and hunter was always happy to see the staff . Wonderful people who need more credit then they have gotten. Specialist and 24/7 hospital will always be a little costly but you have trained staff that you can trust your pet with and thats all that matters.

Dr. Bufkin provided expert, professional care for our dog and the team was very responsive and helpful in keeping us informed during his surgery and hospitalization. Glad to have these specialists in Mobile.

The vet and staff here are professional and very compassionate. We had to bring our elderly dog in for euthanasia over a holiday weekend when our regular vet was not available. Their kindness was very comforting in a sad situation.

I can’t explain how grateful we are to have this Emergency Vet in our community. My family found my 2 year old dog in our back yard collapsed with tongue out and about an hour from a very painful death. We rushed him to the Med Vet clinic. We called on the way to let them know the situation. He was barely hanging on. We didn’t know if he got bit or what happened. They were super professional and let me know up front the Initial expense without knowing if he’d make it or how long he’d be there. They did their best.Our dog ended up having Addison’s disease where they collapse in a crisis state. They went above and beyond to diagnose, treat and save little McDuff’s life. I couldn’t be happier with a job well done by all who touch my baby. I would like to say please be a little easier on these guys. They do the best they can. They have to ask up front about money because in a tragic situation many people just expect service. They come in frantically needing help. I would imagine they are like everyone else and can’t run a business off of charity even though every one of them would if they could. They are really caring Doctors and staff, it really is an emergency situation facility.Big Shout out to B for being his buddy, cleaning him when he didn’t have his dignity. LoL....Elissa for giving me the most caring updates and loving on him,Dr.life for being awesome and explaining his condition so well and caring for him all those nights,Dr.Rehm I absolutely believe this girl is a great asset to your team. I’d also give a zero if available. MedVet was my dog’s on call Vet. My dog acutely could not stand on 2 legs. She also had a fungal infection . They did nothing. Never checked her legs, advised arthritis medication and something for itching. They were out of any meds for fungal infect... all fungal infections.!! I took my dog back and left. I’ll never go back there. Beware.

This place is not for low income people. If you have a animal in need of service they rather your baby die before seeing them due to MONEY. My baby is a 6wk old puppy & was ran over by a truck & needed assistance. I informed them of this info before bringing him out & when i got there i was told it will be $130 for office visit & $200+ for X-Ray & other stuff. This wasnt an issue, i just didnt have it all @ once. I am happy to do a payment plan or something so I was told to do Care Credit & was denied so my baby still laying around slowing dying & in pain. Money is all they care about the animals means NOTHING to them!!

The amazing people that work here helped me so much with the passing of my cat Otter. They were genuine, kind and compassionate in my time of need. They quickly went to work on him as soon as we brought him in on a Sunday but unfortunately there was nothing they could do to save him. Amazing staff, nurses and doctors. They took great care of our chihuahua Daisy Mae in he left most critical time. They are compassionate, eager to answer any qeustion we had and just phenomenal. We feel she received the best care that put her on the road to recovery. We can’t thank them enough for all they did to help our sweet Daisy Mae.

The staff helped us add soon as s we walked in and gave us regular updates. They were ahi nice to my family, my pup, and myself. The only reason I give a 4 is because of the cost, but our pets are priceless.

Really sad that this is the only emergency vet in our area. All they care about is money. So strange to me how a vets office can be so unsympathetic. No bedside manner. They are in the wrong profession if all they want is money. They definitely dont care for the animals-- its just another day at the office for them. I would avoid this place if at all possible!! Dr. Skinas was so good at explaining things and establishing a plan of care. The DC instructions were very detailed; I was comfortable with how to manage at home.

Our dog was hit by a car and passed away. Not sure what to do about his remains, we called a few places before calling MedVet. They explained all of the options to me over the phone clearly and calmly while I was panicking, and we were able to bring his body in for them to send off to their third party cremation center. My husband and I arrived very distraught, and the two ladies who met us were calm and sympathetic, and showed us to a private room where we could cry and fill out paperwork. They were just the help we needed on one of the worst nights of our life, and we will be bringing our other dog there if we need an emergency clinic.

Compassionate staff - private room (not exam setting room) provided for those that have to say goodbye to their loved one. Excellent staff - sensitive to families needs.

Our 6-year old Dachshund was expecting puppies and her delivery was anticipated for this past Thursday/Friday. She began to exhibit labor symptoms and eventually her water broke. After several hours of watching her and taking her on short walks we were not seeing any puppies. She did not appear to be in distress but was obviously tired and acted as though her labor was stopping. Our vet referred us here and we arrived around midnight on Friday. The staff was very friendly and caring and presented us with options for X-ray/Ultrasounds to check status/health of unborn puppies and then go from there. The tests identified a problem with the pup in birth canal and suggested c-section to get pups out. We left her in their care to prep for surgery etc. The doctor and staff kept us posted over the next 4 very long hours and we received good news that Momma came through surgery fine with two healthy male pups. We were very sad that the pup in birth canal did not make it along with a smaller female. But considering the urgency of the situation and the quick and thorough response from the MedVet team, we focused on the very positive (Momma with two boys) and able to bring them home a couple hours later. They are all doing very well and Momma loves and cares for her two sweet boys. It certainly was not an inexpensive experience but no surprises as the team relayed estimated costs (low to high) along the way and we were right in the middle. And Google search confirmed the costs to be fair and reasonable when compared to other emergency vets (especially for a Fri midnight). Thank You MedVet in Mobile for saving our Momma and pups and for treating us with extra care cause we were borderline crazy dog people in distress! 💙💙

My Daisy Mae was treated by the amazing staff at this facility. They were patient with all my calls no matter how many times or the time of night I called to check on my dog. They were very thorough with me even though they had such a busy load at the time we were there. The doctor didn’t once try to rush me and truly cared. They offered much comfort to me when I needed it most and were just so compassionate. I cannot thank them enough for treating my baby like their own and helping her begin her healing process.

We went in at around 4 in the morning. Our 2 week old puppy was not feeling well😔 I was tired and exhausted with staying up with Twixx. We have feed her from birth. Something was wrong and my daughter and I was really scared. The staff and vet was so sweet and understanding of our concerns. Explained and answered our questions. We are really thankful for this place and the staff. Never stop caring! Be blessed! Twice has bee doing good! 2 more days and we will be at the 3 week old mark!! Blessed! Love our fur babies! Thank you front the bottom of our hearts!!

The staff took the time to take my phone call, give amazing information, and lead me to to make the right choices for our kitten (who is doing great). Thank you doesnt even seem adequate, BUT thank you!!

I went into this vet tonight in tears because my puppy all of a sudden fell ill. They would not even see my pup without a $130 upfront charge. After I told them I didn’t have the money right then they offered to let me apply for care credit.. when I was denied they came in the room and told me there was nothing they could do To save my puppy because I didn’t have enough money. My puppy most definitely has a twisted stomach and the only thing that will save her is an emergency visit to the vet and emergency surgery. These people turned me and my dying puppy away over $130. Now as I write this I am sitting here watching my puppy die, in pain. These people have absolutely no compassion for people or animals. I am furious and devastated.

I had an emergency with my dog, Dante, last night. Dante was taken in and treated quickly. I had a long wait to talk to the doctor but, they had some serious cases last night and she got with me as soon as she could. Dr. Life was knowledgeable and kind. We made the decision to have Dante put down and it was so peaceful. I had always dreaded the day I would have to put him down but, I am so glad Dr. Life was the one to do it. She explained everything to me and did the procedure with Dante on my lap, petting him and telling him how much I loved him. It was a hard situation to be in but, Dr. Life made it a lot easier on me. Everyone at the clinic showed me kindness and courtesy.

Nice staff. Good DVM. Kind of costly - charges 104$ examination fee to be seen + additional medication/procedure costs.

Everyone from the front desk staff to the vet was very kind and compassionate towards us and our 🐈. While we did have to wait 30m to be seen, this is to be expected as they are the only place open in Mobile for pets at midnight. Just like a regular ER, some situations take precedence over others so depending on your animals situation, you might have to wait depending on what other animals are here and their problems. I like the fact that once they call you from the lobby, they have private waiting rooms with couches for you and your pet to relax in. The vet came up with a plan of attack and took into consideration the cost of everything and did them one at a time as to not do any unnecessary costly procedures/testing. Would highly recommend this place, their services are cheaper than my regular vet has charged in the past and I felt like they actually care about my pets health after I left the facility.

I just want to say this place is very unprofessional. They have no clue about animals and while you wait 8 hours on a non busy day in the lobby. They like to laugh and joke with each other while your dying dog is in the back room that you can’t see. The vet Lauren was nice but was stumped as to what was wrong with my paralyzed dog. So no broken bones as she did an X-ray $500.00 and referred me to a neurologist. they pushed me out the door practically with no clue of what was going to happen. told me to push on her stomach to help her pee and didn’t even try to explain or describe the ordeal. Now my dog is dead with blood coming out of her rear end. Not only do I feel robbed angry with these money hungry people but sad that there was little to no help with what I was told to be the best vet to go to.

The nurses and doctor here are very nice, they were comforting when I had to euthanize my cat. Amidst me sobbing I felt truly like the nurse at the front desk really cared. Its an emergency 24/7 vet care center so I wont complain about the prices. It is expensive but worth the good care you get.

The staff were all very friendly. Everyone treated me and my dogs with kindness and respect. Though I was there for an emergency and was a little anxious, everyone was calm and professional which made me more calm. I love my primary veterinarian but I was very pleased with my experience here.

Dr. Lackey and her team went absolutely above and beyond for my furbaby. She was kind and informative, explaining what was going on with my cat, his medications and what they were going to be doing to him. The facility was extremely clean. The team was also wonderful and sweet, answering all of our questions. They treated Jeff with care as well as eased all of our worries. They worked with us as we were on a budget and it was an emergency visit. I would highly reccomend this clinic and Dr. Lackey

This place is the WORST. Try George county vet in Lucedale Ms. This ?medvet place tried to charge 500$ JUST for x-rays and exam not the total!! Couldnt imagine what it woildve been after any stitches or cast. While George county charged 235$ TOTAL!!

Do not take your dog or any animal here because they charged for our dog and they had to known he was going to die without the medicine that could had saved his life. They failed to give the medicine to him until the next morning when he should had taken it as soon as he arrived. I think they didnt have the medicine and they waited until the next morning to get it but acted as if they had it and that he didnt need it until 12 hours later. Trust me when I say the dog needed the medicine, it was very obvious. I repeat DO NOT take your dog here. There are other emergency vets in Mobile like Theodore Vet where the technology is impeccable and service outstanding. Also Rehm animal clinic is open at night. Take your furry family member to a more professional and seasoned establishment. If I could rate a zero I would but I cannot. God bless!

I sit in their exam room writing this review because we are so mad. I have wanted over and hour and a half just for someone to take my cat out of the exam room and take her vitals. Which really means they just took my cat out the exam room and set her somewhere else so I would think they are doing something. not only that you will be charged 95 dollars for an exam, just the exam, you dont get to see the exam so who knows if they actually did it. needless to say if you enjoy waiting for hours with your sick animal for the doc to see you this is what you will get here. Please do not come here.

The most advanced and best equipped vet that I have ever seen. Very knowledgeable staff. Speaking of the Metairie, LA facility. The Mobile location is an extension of a larger network of Medvet offices and the only 24/7/365 emergency vet in the area.

Stay away from Dr. Maertens! His lack of empathy, experience and knowledge shows in his every word. No one returns calls or seems to know what is going on with patients.

Id give ZERO stars if it was possible. Someone please investigate these people for cruelty.

Dr Bufkin at MedVet is amazing. He will sit down and talk with you, not at you. He is compassionate and very knowledgeable. Our girl had a extremely rare muscle disease(she was the third ever case in history). He helped us get a extra 2 months with her that we would not have had otherwise. Ultimately her battle was lost. However we are extremely appreciative of those last two months we did get with our love.

I am ONLY giving one star because our dog is still alive.That being said...although the vet saved our dog’s life from eating a foreign object using emergency surgery...we had to wait over 4 hours to even be seen while our dog was in pain. He did not even go into surgery until 5-6 hours from our arrival.We were referred to Medvet from our regular vet bc they did and X-ray and said our dog could have a less invasive endoscopic procedure if we went to MedVet.Well...We couldn’t have that procedure anymore by the time they finally saw our dog. At that point, it had traveled beyond the stomach to small bowel...it’s possible that if our dog had been seen in a timely manner for an emergency clinic, it might have have been retrieved via scope.It was $2400 for these services. They also misquoted us on price and charged us an additional $300 when we went to pick our dog up.Then our dog ended up with an infection we had to have treated by our veterinarian, which cost us an additional $400.00.I shutter to think what would happen if you had a time sensitive emergency such as a car accident...I do not recommend MedVet unless you literally have no other option.

Came here from Pensacola. Pensalcola told us it would be 6000 minimum to operate on our pup, due to an obstruction, even though no tests were done other than one vet feeling her tummy, and a second vet also feeling her tummy mentioning she couldnt feel it. Still we were told we had to pay 6000 to have her operated on immediately otherwise she would die soon. They wouldnt even stabilize her until we could get the funds together, and 6000 was way more than we could afford.Called this place, drove to the next state to take her to be told exactly what we were thinking... our pup should have xrays and blood work before any kind of surgery. The vet said she didnt seem critical, and that its most likely worms or parvo, and he spent a lot more time examining her than Pensacola did.Anyway, they have our pup, and are testing her like a vet should for 1600, as well as keeping her for a couple of daysThank the lord. We prayed and prayed for help. And the lord has come through. The guy who is taking care of her is amazing. Its worth driving out of state here for treatment from a vet who isnt trying to scam and uses common sense before cutting puppies open.Thank you. This place needs a lot more credit than is given!!!
