I had an in-home lesson with Dierdre that was tailored to all the questions I had for beginner sewing as related to fabric. This was EXACTLY what I needed to get over my fears and finallllllllly just start sewing!!!She was very prompt, kind, fun, patient, easy to be around, and was very good at explaining things so my ADHD brain could understand. I loved that she used simple and practical examples just by referring to the fabric, stitches and hems of my own clothing, so I can refer to them in the future for easy refreshers. My 60 min session was able to be extended in 15 min increments for $10 each as needed. This was VERY helpful since I was taking lots of notes & asking questions. She even got me started on a sewing repair project I had for a skirt that had torn. This was well worth the money to get me started & I wouldnt hesitate to have her back for another lesson.
I went in for a sewing class. I had a great time and made a little pouch/purse. I will be back for the second one on one class and will participate in the group classes as well. She was very thorough in her explanations and offered a great hands on experience. The owner was also really helpful in giving recommendations for a quality sewing machine which I have already purchased.
While my alterations were done in a timely manor, it was not as expected. I wanted my gown hemmed and shoulders taken up because I bought it 3 sizes too big. The photos show the gown hemmed with the heels I wore for the marking. I called Sander’s and expressed how upset I was. Initially, they were trying to be helpful, but they became dismissive and rude in the end. I have attached screenshots of our text conversation where they are confusing me with my sister. She brought her dress to get altered a week after I picked my dress up, but she decided to use someone else for the alterations that same day. So, they never touched her dress. Yet after the texting, I waited until they were open again to call about my refund. She deflected by saying, “Didn’t you say you didn’t even like the dress? Didn’t you say you hated the color?” - which were all things my sister said about her dress. Eventually, I was thankful that she decided to give me the refund - even with her sarcastic attitude when I came in again to receive it. “Did you bring your shoes? You know the shoes you had to buy for the dress and why you need a refund?” I told her I could go get them, but she shook her head and waved me off.I have worked with the public for years and understand the frustration of returns and refunds. I felt that I was being nice and understanding only to be treated rudely in the end. I can’t imagine how they would react to someone less patient.
The ladies were awesome!!! Prices were fair and the work was beautiful!! I recommend them for ANY and ALL your sewing needs.
Best alteration shop! Friendly, fast, & professional. Not kidding: I drive an hour out of the way to give them my business.
Do NOT use Sanders. I took four items to be altered and had to bring back three of the four to be fixed. They fixed two of them and they work well, but RUINED a pair of my pants! 1st it was going to be darts down the back to bring the waist in and they were CROOKED! 2nd try was a “waist in” and now the seam is lumpy and creates a horrible dent right in the middle of my butt. I’m not going back to try a 3rd time!!! My pants were over $150. I’ve never worn them, and now I never will.
They take time but do really good work on pants. Price is fair. Happy with service.
I dont know what the other reviewers are talking about. This place is an absolute ripoff. My daughter had a skirt shortened and they charged me $135 and put a rush charge on of $25. She only told them that she needed it as soon as possible. So i paid these people more than the dress originally cost. Im very upset at the unmitigated gall of these people. Avoid!
Timing, pricing, quality of work, customer service---all 5-stars!!! We LOVE Sanders!!
