Visited on 07/02/21 and really enjoyed the exhibits, especially the Distance exhibit which was interactive. This museum is located in downtown and we had a great day exploring the museum and then shopping and eating downtown. I look forward to visiting again in five years or so, this downtown area has lots of potential.
Interesting and eclectic collection with thought provoking pieces. Some interesting social statements. Didnt agree with some, but they were well presented and showed the artists intense feelings on the subject matter. And being of a libertarian bent, I appreciated the visual statement of the point of view. There is some nudity in the adult section; however it is not gratuitous. Those familiar the nudity with more classical art will be comfortable.Typical of contemporary art, there was a fair variety of media used. Got a chance to speak with the executive director. A very interesting woman. Admission is a donation in the amount you choose. Worth a side trip if you are downtown. And take a few minutes to enjoy the Moblobz mural on the building exterior. A fun and fanciful work.
Loved loved loved this venue. Nice pieces of artwork. Will definitely visit again
Really nice clean love art, great place to have a event.
Awesome commercial space that was converted to a gallery and studios.
Beautiful, open space showcasing the work of a variety of talented artists. Lots to look at. My young sons enjoyed it. Little, cute gift shop.
I went on a Friday during free admission times. It was a small exhibit and I spent a little over an hour there. I could have spent another 30 minutes there if I took the time to admire more of the sculptures and art, but I had to leave for another appointment. Bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly. It was a nice fun event for a tourist like myself.
I took a class of high schoolers on a field trip to the Center. The staff did a great job helping the students experience the galley and leading an industrial design lesson in their classroom space. We had a wonderful experience.
Great organization
Beautiful space. Definitely worth checking out.
Small, but quality little gallery in downtown Mobile. They host rotating exhibits and coordinate related events. Right now, there is a terrific mixed-media exhibit of Cuban artists. This place has a lot of potential to modernize the Mobile art scene. It flanks one side of the lovely cathedral plaza, so you can check it out before roaming around the church gardens or having brunch at A Spot of Tea. I sort of hate the art on the outside of the building, but I wont fault them that. Entry for the exhibits changes I believe, but was reasonable at $5/pp.
👍
Unique inviting and beautiful gallery space. The contemporary Art shows change frequently offering unique experiences.
Great show tonight! Best ever! The music really helped the atmosphere. Cudos all around.
Great exhibition in June 2019. Very edgy for Mobile. Need more like that.
This place is awesome and does a lot for the community! The people who work there and put it all together are wonderful!
I do yoga there and the instructor, Lisa, is awesome! I bought a family membership so the kids can come on Saturdays while I do yoga and they get to do art classes.
