We were traveling from Ohio to Mt. Rushmore and started hearing a noise on the left side of the car. We stopped at a place off rt. 90 in Mitchell, South Dakota to see if someone could look at it and hopefully repair it. We couldn’t find anyone to help us until we called Lee’s and he told us to be there at 2. He was ready for us and discovered the problem was caused because when I got new tires the lug nuts had not been tightened on one of the tires. He said we were very fortunate that the tire didn’t fall off while we were traveling. He fixed it for us right away and didn’t overcharge us. We were back on our way with a short time.
He quickly and honestly diagnosed water in gas as our issue. We were on our way in minutes with $5 spent instead of hundreds for an unneeded repair.
I am a college student at Mitchell Tech, my Mass Air Flow Sensor went out the day I was supposed to go home, got recommended to go to him by a classmate. He charged me $350 for a $120 part!! He was never at his shop when I told him Id be there, and made me wait 30-45 minutes just to talk to him. Never called and gave me updates when he said he would and never called to tell me when it was done. Went to finally get it a week later when I finally had the money to pay for it, and THEN decides to tell me that I can only pay with cash. So I had to leave and go get cash and come back again. Very sad that this man can look himself in the mirror every day and be proud of what he is doing to people. DONT EVER GET YOUR VEHICLE FIXED HERE!!
Les does a great job! He is fast, polite, and affordable!
Called 5 places in town just to get a leak looked at. Finally called and he said yeah come down. 15 minutes later, a mechanic lesson and we’ve got piece of mind. He was honest and at no point tried to get more money out of us out of towners! A great experience!
Friendly helpful service by the owner
So my kid is in college in Mitchell, so try to find a mechanic that would be as honest as the one we have back home. We come across Les’s Repair in Mitchell, small business, assuming it would be good. He replaced the air conditioner compressor on February 3rd. It is April, go to use my air conditioner and it blows hot air!!! Take it to my mechanic and he tells me that “used compressors” are known to leak. So guess who is replacing a compressor, guess trusting someone away from home was a bad idea! Hope you enjoyed your $660.00 dollars you stole from my family! You will never receive my business ever again. Thank you for the lesson learned. Also don’t assume your getting a new part, cause at this place it will be used and broke. And the really sad part is we literally sent him a thank you card for saving the day, what a joke.
Being a college student I needed a mechanic that was going to be honest on what had to be done to get my car back on road in a timely manner. Once the parts came in my car done right away. Les got me back on the road as soon as possible. I left with the confidence that the job was done right.
I brought my truck in to get looked at, another repair shop had given me a quote of 765.43! Les fixed it for 287.43. the other shop was trying to repair things that didnt need fixed. i definitely would go back again. Very nice people
He has worked on many vechiles of mine and I never had one issue with my vehicles used or new parts I never had a problem he is a very honest and open minded guy he knows exactly what you need and what needs to be done if you have a break down, flat tire or stranded you give him a call he will be right there as his daughter he has been doing this for years and as a small local business owner support his business and give him a call with all your mechanical needs !!!!
I went in to get my air conditioner fixed, Les was very nice and willing to help me. I’ll be going back to him for sure.
My starter went out on my pickup. I called Les and he came and towed my pickup back to his shop and had it fixed in less than an hour. Very happy with my experience and would go back again.
My husband and I landed in Mitchell on our first day of vacation..on way there our service engine light went on so we drove to OReilly auto parts and they checked and said it was the thermostat...it was July 5th and we were staying one night in town on way to keystone...the only place we could find open was less.he said bring it over...so we drove there and he ordered part. He asked us twice how we were paying and I guess when we said cash he saw that as the green light to gouge us cause to replace our thermostat on our 05 gmc envoy he charged us $419 and change..we thought it was high so he proceeded to tell us just thermostat cost 130.we were from Missouri and in a jam so we had to pay it so we could travel on...since we arrived home my husband checked with OReilly only to discover that part cost around 30.00...now the sad part is they seemed like nice folks.les and his wife who does upholstery...that makes it even sadder...they did save our trip but it sure cost us in long run...Im hoping he installed a new part but when greed takes over it makes a person doubt...I think he needs to send us a rebate but I doubt that will happen..so all I can say is I love Mitchell but I will always remember that bad start to our vacation...it must be family giving the 5star reviews...or he saw two out of towners in a pickle...sad.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Bad service
Les has always done an excellent job
