We have had Joshua or his employees come out periodically to our home, and we couldn’t be happier. Not only did they deal with our ants, wasps, and yes a few mice issues, but they were helpful in getting us to figure out where they were coming from which was complex in our very old home. The staff are kind, thoughtful, thorough, and also very compliant with Covid protocol.
I am not pleased with the service. We continue to have bugs outside. Ants. Spiders. I had to call them to come between their scheduled service dates. Be prepared for lots on granules in your yard for your pets to eat. If you cancel you will have to pay the discounted 1st treatment. I do not recommend their services.
A pleasant young technician came to my residence earlier today. This was a first time pest control visit, and so far Im impressed. We shared what todays outside objectives and expectations would be, and the technician went straight to work with a very positive and professional attitude. (I also noted a freshly pressed white shirt and crisp uniform... totally made he and Joshuas pest control appear top notch at what they are committed to).I was surprised at the speedy and sizeable removal of spider webs and wasps debris on the exterior of my home. (Very nice, thorough cleaning... just that was a great help! Looks so much better). Then he sprayed, put out granular treatment and rodent traps. And thats HALF of what the technician was ready to accomplish for this appointment. I had asked if the inside treatment can be scheduled for a different day and was pleasantly informed that was no problem, just schedule when its convenient... customer support 24/7!So... for my very first day employing Joshuas pest control, I feel I am going to be more than pleased with their professional experience.
The people that have come to my home are very professional and polite. They explain the game plan so I know what I should watch for and what to expect. They never fail to tell me they appreciate my business and if I have any. questions to call. The one time I had to call, I got a live person, not a series of options and pressing buttons. So far Im very pleased with response & results.
Extremely professional! They use products that aren’t harmful to my grandkids or dogs. Responsive and prompt if there is something going on between the schedules applications. I would really recommend them to anyone, and I have used other pest control services over the years for Japanese Beatles. Joshua‘s is the best!
Our tech, Alex, was so pleasant and professional. He addressed all of my concerns and treated the areas that were needed. I’m hoping this will help with the gnat issue so we can enjoy being outside without being eaten alive. Thanks!
I am very unhappy with this company. The employee showed up 2 hours early which was inconvenient for us. He walked around the yard with a bag and only put down a small amount of product on my front and back lawn. The product did not cover my whole lawn as promised and was very sparse in the areas where we have ants. He was done in just 10 minutes which too short to be thorough. The cost of $85.00 for a few minutes of work is VERY high. In order to cancel the contract, you need to send an expensive telegram within 3 days and the company will still bill you the difference between their special price and their standard price which will equal another $150 in my case. Read the fine print - this was a big mistake on my part. Do NOT use Joshuas Pest Control unless you want to get scammed!!

Initially I admit I was hesitant as the sales guy showed up at my door. But he said they were doing a house nearby and offered me a discount to sign up. We have had issues with ants taking over our yard and random bugs inside. A few sessions later though I realized how rarely if at all I see any insects, I don’t even have to think about it anymore. Overall I am satisfied and recommend them.
Scottie was our service person. He took the time to see where all our issues are. He was extremely friendly and polite. He did a great job of telling me what he was going to, then explained once he was done what he had completed and what to expect. I was very impressed!
DISHONEST:In an asinine ploy to capture your attention, Joshua pests lead with this BS story about a Mrs. Smith down a few blocks who just signed up. Strangely, while pestering you with their pitch theyll deliberately forget to mention that if you terminate the service theyll withdraw the starter discount initially offered and slap you with a hefty penalty for early cancellation. Yo Joshua, why not be upfront with your clauses from the onset? Imagine binge shopping on black Friday and later being denied a full refund when attempting to return unused products, would you recommend such a sketchy vendor, huh?The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 applies where retailers leave out important information or present it in a way that hides or disguises it from the buyer, if it’s ambiguous or not provided at an APPROPRIATE TIME.The treatment did not even eradicate spiders as advertised, what a waste!

Very poor company with a bad response rate and lousy customer service. You can never get ahold of anyone and when you do it is always someone different who never seems to know anything about what is going on. People continue to show up at your house every other day even though the schedule they provide is once per quarter. That means every 4 months.Still, someone shows up once a week and they charge the credit card every time! Ive even told the worker that I dont want them here. One guy wouldnt leave so I had to threaten to call the police!I honestly cannot believe they are still in business.
Its spent 2 weeks now and I still have days and flies going all over the place and not webs problems were still left up in areas of the ceiling. I had a purchase Bee traps just to keep them at bay a little bit. Did not seem to be a very thorough job.
Wade was very personable and explained everything he was doing. We really loved good customer service and people skills. So far I’m impressed with the service! They made everything very easy! I don’t know yet If the service is effective because it’s only been a day, but I’m sure it will be. Also, they will come back if it not, so you can’t go wrong with this company!
WADE is Awesome! He was very knowledgeable and professional. He listened to all of requests and was very thorough. We have a leukemia patient in our house and he was very good about wearing a mask and keeping his shoes covered! We liked him so much we almost had him come in and join for dinner! Very rude, pushy and unprofessional door to door sales person. He came to our door later in the evening to sell this service. My husband politely declined his service offer, but it didnt stop there. My husband again politely declined and said that we are trying to get our daughter to sleep and would like to talk to me (his wife) and would let them know if we are interested in the future - my husband even asked if he had a business card, but he didnt have any business cards or flyers with him which seemed sketchy. The sales person then asked approximately what time our daughter would be asleep so that we could give him an answer as soon as possible. I stepped in and said politely to please listen to people when they say that they are not interested. We do not need this service and would not recommend this company based on this experience.

So far so good. Met the sales guys Braden and Sam on Friday. Wade came out Saturday and did the field work. Everyone was exceptionally polite and courteous.
My son is autistic and loves to play outside in our backyard, so I’ve been thinking about hiring a pest control service for a while now. Door to door sales is really hard - so I wish people would give these industry members an easier time ... the young man who initially set up the service with me was very nice and knowledgeable, and the young man who completed our first spray was equally as nice and knowledgeable. The price seems fair. So far so good.
One thing is they will keep charging you even after you canceled their service. Raise prices on you. Also with the service they could not tell me what type of inssct I had in my porch he told me well it is dead so do not worry about it. We did also continue to have mice and spiders even after treatment was done. Poor customer service.
We just had Michael sell us a control package a couple of days ago and he could not have been more professional. Today Wade & Forest came by for our first application and they were fantastic. Super polite, fast, efficient and very responsive. They guys are great. Highly recommend them!
Gunner came to our house today for our first service. He gave us a heads up prior to arriving which is nice right off the bat. When he arrived, he was polite and personable. He asked if I had any questions, answered them, didnt seem rushed at all and did a great job. Thanks Gunner!!
Their salespeople go from home to home cold calling on prospective clients which is still legal in most places. It’s irritating and invasive but it must work for them. However they use rolling two wheeled hoverboards as their means of travel and wear no helmets or safety gear of any kind, showing they have very little respect for their employee’s lives. In Medina a few days ago I nearly hit one of their workers in a head on collision on a curve of a narrow county road with no shoulder. They were on their hoverboard in my lane coming head on and made no attempt to step off the board or take the ditch. Oncoming traffic prohibited me from swerving out of my lane. I had to stand full strength on the brake and eat the dash to avoid vehicular manslaughter. EXTREMELY unprofessional sales approach and equally so on safety. If they care this little about their employees lives or safety, I certainly do not want them setting foot on my property or in my neighborhood. Google still hasn’t figured out how to rate zero stars but that’s my sum for this company after they nearly ruined my life.

Love this company. Jordyn, the sales lady was very polite and new what she was speaking about and very down to earth. Pricing was very reasonable. Wade, the technician who came out to my house to spray and release granuals was very professional and courteous. Spent time with me, listening to my questions and was on time. Also described to me the process of the services and what he would be doing to control/ eliminate my issues with the pests. Just had the privilege of connecting with Wade and Rayne for treating the yard for ants, spiders, hornets, wasps, etc...They were extremely professional, easy to talk to and able to answer questions, and efficient with the time. I also connected with Jeff as my sales rep and he was able to give us an affordable price for the treatment of our yard. I would highly recommend these individuals based on this experience and look forward to having a safer backyard for our three children. Appreciate the business fellas!
Jonah did an excellent job on the initial visit for interior and exterior treatment of ants and spiders. He was on-time, professional, and friendly. He explained every treatment and double checked to make sure I knew to call with any issues. Looking forward to see how the treatments work and to the second treatment in a month.

They came to our door pretty late trying to sell their service, so that right there irritated me, but I was polite and listened to the sales guy do his little pitch. After politely declining the service, it should have ended there, but it didnt. He tried again to convince me I needed the service. I politely declined again. He still wouldnt leave, and then offered a discount for the first application. I politely declined again, and he then tried again again. I think I had to repeat myself at least five times that I was not interested. Please, just stop harassing people with the hard sell when theyre not interested. Be professional and walk away when someone is not interested.

Really nice young man and I love that he was very personable, came when expected, explained everything and made great suggestions. Also offered to come back if we see any future problems. Very professional, on time speedy service. We signed up for pest control yesterday and they came out to do the treatment the very next day. Wade and Jonah were our technicians and both went above and beyond to ensure they hit on all the spots we had concerns on. Would highly recommend Joshua’s to anyone needing summer insect control.
Had someone come to my door to see if I’d be interested in their services. I had just had a competitor of theirs come out the week before so I was uninterested, no did I need their service. The agent who came to my door continued to grill me about the competitor and tried to make me feel bad for using their competitor. At one point the agent said that what the competitor did for pest control was illegal, which I can’t imagine was the case.Will never go with this company after that interaction. If you want perspective customers, don’t make them feel stupid or get mad when I don’t need your service at the moment. Who knows maybe I could have gone with them in the future, but not after dealing with their agent.Seems sketchy!
Wade came to the door to note his arrival. He discussed our plan and proceeded to do his job. He did return with a dead rodent and gave options on what I could do to cut down on those. He knew his stuff. He was thorough. Super nice. Wade gets 6 out of 5 stars.
We used Aptive for 2 years and switched to Joshuas because they were local. This review is not a reflection of the people. Everyone that we interacted with has been great (the reason for 2 stars and not 1). The company just doesnt get results and has poor customer service/communication.After switching to Joshuas we had all of this for the first time in the 3 years weve lived here (the first 2 years we had Aptive): mice droppings in our back deck area, mice in our garage, ants all over our sidewalks, spiderwebs like crazy in our windows and entry area and yellow jackets in our back yard. I called for an extra service to help take care of the yellow jackets and they hardly tried. They sprinkled some stuff in the general area I told them. 5 minutes and a can of wasp spray got the job done myself. Why do I pay these guys?? Again, theyre nice people but it is not a good product..Switching back to Aptive.
Ive only had my first service, but Owen, the technician was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. Owen was there when he said he would be, and I received a summary of what service was performed.

We have a bee nest in the front top of the roof of our home. To remove the nest required using a ladder to get on the roof to reach the nest.The technician did not have a ladder and attempted to spray a liquid from the ground.She sprayed a large quantity of this liquid toward the nest. Some of the liquid reached the nest but it did not dislodge the nest and was only partially successful on the bees.The nest was not dislodged and still remains.She stated “we may need to get an exterminator to solve the problem.” Also, The liquid wet the stucco extensively. I asked that the spray not be used if it will stain the stucco. I am concerned that our stucco is damaged as some of the liquid that appears on the sidewalk below is greasy.You have not solved our problem and may have caused structural damage to the stucco.Our requested service is included in the scope of our contract. We are not going to pay extra.We ask that you solve the problem and pay for any damage done.Please contact me to discuss.
So disappointed.The sales reps are experienced in playing the your neighbors are doing this, you should too, card. I originally signed up because we had a wasp problem, and by the end we had more wasp, flying ants, and mosquitos in our home than ever before. Each time I was met with a we will come back out and lay the pellets again and (more ridiculously) the insects are being pushed into your house by the pellets... when you end the service they will break back into the eaves and cause more damage because you cant see them.This on top of what I initially thought was responsive and understanding customer service, which ended up being lies told to me by the company owner. When I tried cancelling my contract (due to being out of work from the pandemic), they talked me into finishing out the contract, which was a mistake. After the contract ended, they continued to service my house without notice or authorization, then sent me the bill!This is so disheartening because I want to support local business, but if your service is bunk, PLUS youre not being honest and fair, you deserve to be called out.
I believe its just a big scam! Spiders also die off in late summer and early fall. Thats when they go door to door. We tried calling him to cancel and we did not get a hold of anyone. It was very suspicious how they came around on a scooter as well.
They came to my door selling their services, which is fine. However, the rep decided to try to make the sale by lying to me. Completely unprofessional.If theyre that comfortable lying, why would I ever believe that theyre telling the truth about the quality of their services?

This is a total scam. In their cancelation contract, it actually says you can cancel within 3 days by telegram! Telegram! So theyre not only interested in trapping you in a contract, they like rubbing it in. Their door-to-door, I dont have a business card act coupled with their aggressively unhelpful customer service do not reflect honest business practices at all.

I especially appreciate that today the rep found five more wasp nests that I thought I had & took care of them! So happy with all their services and the great customer service!

What a scam! Person that came to door didnt tell us about a contract. We had 2 nice kids come out but after my husband had cancelled the service. Were going to pay for what they did for miscommunication (although on their part) of to find we have a contract with them! Have to pay to get out of it! It is a joke and reporting to Better Business Bureau. Dont get scared like us!!

Technician showed up and didn’t have all the equipment to do the entirety of the job that was promised - he wasn’t able to spray under the eves of the home and still left cobwebs and wasp nests around the exterior of the house. Inside, he only did spot treatment along the baseboards when I was promised full interior treatment for the initial service - window, door, bath, and baseboard treatment. Also, he used a a measuring cup to distribute the granular lawn application, not rotary spreader - I can’t imagine shaking it out of a measuring cup ensures full coverage...
Just moved into my new home, lucky enough to be mowing my lawn and came upon salesman Sean Martinsen walking in my neighborhood. Sean explain every little details about pest control and gave me a deal offer price. Set me up an appointment in a few hours with tech James Hernandez and he came on time, wiz out all my webs and sprayed my whole interior new home. Knowing that I needed to control my bug issues moving into the new home, God sent me these guys to handle my problem for the future pest problems.Highly recommend!!!

Seeing no reduction of vole infestation even after repeatedly pointing it out every quarter. There are several vole tunnels right next to the supposed bait boxes you have set up. Will not be using your service again. Very disappointed

They were always on time - and they bill immediately - however I have had workers show up stoned, and more than once I have watched after they came to the door and told me they would treat my entire yard with granules and skip half the yard. This last time I had to let the technician know that I watched as his trainee skipped much of my yard - there is no way that my entire yard was treated with one hand spreader - with no refills. He said she would redo - didnt see it done. Last time the tech didnt spray around my foundation - the guy was here for such a short time - not possible to do my entire yard, do the eves sweep and then spray the foundation. I was on a work call, but one guy was here and gone in ten minutes. They do pressured sales, they will come back if there is a problem - but I just want to be done with this company.

UPDATED -(8/12/2021)->Ive update the rating levels for this review from one star to four stars based upon further discovery. After speaking with the AG Department about licensing practices, this person did actually what they would expect, before spraying the applicator looked up the labels and understood what he was spraying. The AG department was very happy to hear that the applicator was taking the time to review the current labels, as they can change. The applicator is fully licensed, passed the tests, and was in good standing.It appears it was my mis-understanding of what the applicator was telling me about training.Over all... Services were okay, leaving me a couple of questions about some services actually being done, but Im not an expert and the person worked very quickly.MOXIE SERVICES MINNESOTA LLC DBA JOSHUAS PEST CONTROLService in Anoka county - MNThe kid stated he did not have any training what so ever, but he was super nice and shared the facts in an honest way. (See update above added on 8/12/2021)Actions conductions: (15 minutes at max) Sprayed insecticide around the outside of the house, put down granular insecticide around the house, put down a couple of mouse bait boxes in the garage, spray some chemicals inside the home around the basement. After he left a report came back.... Analaea was awesome!!! She was very thorough, friendly, and knowledgeable about her job. She was able to give great advice about the best location for traps as well as for areas that would be the most effective when sprayed. I would highly recommend Analaea and request that she personally come next time we have have our premises sprayed and our pest control taken care of!

I wish they had an option for 0 stars. They lure you in with shiny deals, but the service never worked. We still have ants, so does my mother in law (signed up the same day). They treated in the winter (when there are no bugs outside) and did not tell us they were coming out. Then they send us a letter saying they are switching to monthly payments but no details of how much and when. We left messages for them and never got a call back. They came out without the 24 hour before text or email. We are honoring our contract but they wont let us cancel until our term is up, basically because they wont remember. The rep on the phone was rude and made up policies. My in-laws have this service as well and just canceled as well and now we cant... Hmmmm. DO NOT TRUST THEM!
Wade showed up 30 minutes earlier than planned (good thing). I showed him the hot spots inside to get covered and he went to work. He completed the first treatment within 40 minutes.
Wade was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions relating to the treatments that were done to my house. He was very knowledgeable on how the deterrents worked, and what I should expect.
The sales people didnt understand that termites cant survive in Minnesota/Wisconsin. I had to explain it as he was trying to use scare tactics to sell. I ended up hiring them to spray for mosquitoes. They never bothered to tell me they were coming and charged for a service in which someone walks around my house once and leaves. So I called them to ask about this service. I was under the impression that they sprayed the yard. I had to wait a day for a supervisor to call me back so he could tell me they provided a service. He didnt bother to ask me anything about my experience. I still cant belive the attitude I received from the supervisor. I assume he probably has a lot of bad days when a company is run so unprofessional. In hindsight I should have realized that their sales people dont know what they are talking about and this trickles down through the entire company. I urge you to learn from my mistake.
