Mariah gave me gel x extensions and I absolutely love them. She was wonderful and extremely detailed. I wasn’t too sure about what design, shape, or length I wanted and she patiently talked me through a bunch of options I might enjoy. She did a superb job! I booked an appointment for Gel-x nails about a month ago and was so stoked to arrive (Ive been tracking Nair Bar for a while and specifically wanted to go here because its black-owned). My technician was a very sweet young woman and gave great conversation. However, there was no actual manicure. My nails were soaked for around a minute and the cuticles were pushed back and then we began. No massage or shaping or anything I was used from manicures at other places. I asked for a french manicure style gel-x set. When it was done, they looked...ok. Id asked for short, but even those were too long, so I asked the tech to trim them and she did - but the length on the hands were noticibly uneven. I felt like it was pandemic and the tech was nice so Id let it be. Plus, I had to go. The nails started lifting within 24 hours. In 48 hours after 2 short showers (no bath, no long soaking in water - i wash my dishes with gloves on), I could see lifting around 7/10 nails (4 of which were significant). This meant that everything got under them. I tried to keep them on for two weeks, but eventually got worried about infection and just honestly hated how they were looking because of the buildup of stuff between the gel-c and my nails becuase of the lifting. From the other reviews, it looks like I had a bad experience at an otherwise awesome spot. Which makes me happy because I really want black owned business in the Twin Cities to thrive. FYI, I spent $80 - $65 for the nails and the rest for the tip. For me, thats a lot. I dont normally write reviews, but Im putting this here in case it happens again so that you dont feel like youre alone/crazy.

I have been to The Nail Bar MN several times and each time the staff has been very professional with a very welcoming environment to their clients. I have had my nails and pedicures done there and i have never been disappointed with the service they provide. I highly recommend The Nail Bar MN.

I arrived to my appointment on time. Was asked if while I soaked for my pedicure if she could fix a clients nail. I had no problem thinking 10 or 15 mins max. Turned into 40 mins later I was left still soaking in cold water and I was never offered anything for my time or an apology. My appointment was at 3:15p. I did not end up leaving until 5:30p which caused problem because I had other things to do. I spent $65 and I will never return or recommend this business.

Kimberley did a FANTASTIC job with my pedicure and foot massage. It was clearly evident that she cares about clients and takes pride in her work. The best pedicure ever!!!

Such a lovely spot to get your nails done! All of the nail techs are so kind and attentive to detail. They really take their time to get designs on right and their Instagram account is full of inspiration!
