The name Opportunity Center is very fitting, as there are many helpful services provided here. Breakfast and Lunch are served here- check their website for the specific meal times schedule. You can also go to the facility in person and get a monthly calendar of the services offered there; the calendar is available at the front desk right when you enter the building. To enter the building and utilize any of the services, including meals, youll need to scan your Community Card. If you dont have a Community Card you can get a temporary card for the day- if you want a permanent Community Card (& theyll probably suggest it) you can get one at Saint Olafs Adult Shelter Connect. Staff here is helpful and kind, from the front desk to the volunteers and employees serving meals. Services here range from meals, enrollment in the Lifeline phone program, locker access, showers, a Culinary Arts program, Soles for Souls (foot care), assistance searching for employment, and more. If you want to utilize any of their services, I recommend you call ahead and find out if you need to arrive early to get your name on a list for first any first-come, first-serve services. For example, the Lifeline phone program representatives take clients one or two at a time in the order of the sign-up list. You can stay and sit at the tables in the main area between meals if you want to beat the heat or avoid the cold- or just need a safe place to spend part of your day. However, during mealtimes you may be asked to leave once youve finished eating to allow room for the 2nd round of people waiting to eat. This isnt a 24/7 center or a shelter; its only open for about the first half of the day. I gave it 5 stars and took the time to review it because its an excellent resource to those who can benefit from its services. I am grateful for the Opportunity Center and all that it provides, keep up the great work!

😱Security thugs and the employee preyed on vulnerable homeless. Staff and Security at the entrance to the shelter behave like psychopaths . sometime homeless people have to bribe themselves into the shelter . those who dont have money and things to bribe were throwing out.The homeless people there were horribly being mistreated by staff and security thugs.Perhaps, the most eye opening for me about this horrible place was the realization that homeless people are more often than not, powerless in the face of mistreatment. One of the realities of being homeless in our time is that if your homeless. you are very powerless and very vulnerable.

Quality program and services, I believe that if you need the assistance its ok. You feel OK you are ok, be. Cell phones on Mondays and Saturdays, bring an EBT and proof of SNAP and/or card. meals here 7:30-800a 11:30-12:00a Monday-Saturday. Dont drink the coffee! Just kidding its not bad maybe free just isnt a expectation of quality. I think their is a computer lab in the afternoons, and consults for job search help. A cooking program starts 4 times a year for those who enjoy working in restaurant industry. Closes from 12-1, closed Sunday, & holidays.

Great breakfasts I just got my apt around CORNER after homeless for4 years and I get up for 7am serving of breakfast just to find my eyes open and heart beating well for each day NOW As kinda a new ritual to start ea day and now not on salvation 3rd floor with 86 other women ITS kinda quiet in apt too much at times..Also the Catholic charities has a healthcare for the homeless clinic went to at salvation army for colds and therapy appts so it transfers over to this site.and a foot care clinic As well as at Sallys too on WednesdAys BUT BEST of all for me at least they have 2 yall bookshelves full of donated onceread books both paperback and hardcover that are free for PPL to borrow or just plain old have for themselves and I always CAN find amazing theological topic authors and their writings in between all the many novels of drama and crime mysterys. So Im getting to point where my small studio apt is going to need what I cherish myself and that is ..my very own bookcase full of specially picked out and read books for rest of my life to re-read every few years or so...and they also serve two sittings of lunch between 11 30 and 12.00 with a morning snack approx 9.45am...I can honestly brag. That IVE NEVER EVER LEFT THE BRANCH. HUNGRY ANY TIME OR DAY THAT IVE BEEN THERE FOR ANY MEAL OR SNACK BETTER THAN HOUSE OF CHARITY ..BY SO MUCH FURTHER HANDS DOWN TRULY.....SOOOO MUCH MORE SATISFYING ....YOU DONT LEAVE HUNGRY AND ITSALWAYS WELL BALANCED.
