I had lived in my house for about 7 years before deciding to have CKB remodel my kitchen. In years past I had pieced together other contractors/remodels trying to save money, and I was extremely disappointed with some of the quality and how I was treated during the process. I chose CKB because I needed a company I could trust with my forever home. Though they were the most expensive of my quotes, it was well worth it in terms of longevity and materials chosen (cabinets, countertop, tile, fixtures, etc.). They walked me through all details of the project, a realistic budget, and a timeline. Increasing functionality while staying true to the age of my home was extremely important to me and the design chosen by the interior designer was perfect. I cant say enough about all of their staff, including the quality of work and the amount of trust I had in them coming into my home (especially during a pandemic). CKB was there for me not only throughout all aspects of the project, but they allow me to stay in contact and follow up, even months later when I have questions regarding care or touch-ups. I would absolutely recommend CKB for any project.
I sent in an inquiry on a bath remodel and had a timely response. The thing that was weird to me is without seeing the size of my bath, without asking any questions about my bath besides is it a shower, tub/shower combo and the number of vanities, the rep instantly quoted $40,000 saying that’s the starting cost for an “average” size bathroom. I was expecting a time set up for someone to come out and survey the bathroom to get a better quote. What’s an “average” size for a bath? Seems like they don’t need the business. If they’re not even willing to come survey and look at the project site, the job quality may be the same.
CKB staff is marvelous. They handled everything. All I had to do was make the choices of the flooring, cupboard handles, new sink & faucets along it a new garbage disposal and the new lighting. They made if very easy and did all the ordering. (I handled the new appliance ordering and delivery to coincide with the kitchen update schedule.)I am very satisfied with the entire process and I am so glad I made the choice to work with CKB on my kitchen project. Everyone who has seen the results just marvels at the changes. Thank you, CKB!!
We built our house 27 years ago and had a classic 90’s U-shaped kitchen layout that we felt was quite serviceable. When we wanted to update, our initial thoughts were to simply paint the existing cabinets and add new quartz countertops. I can’t tell you how happy we are that we took it a step further and redesigned the space significantly with CKB. We have a dramatic new kitchen that we created from the studs on up. It features a large center island, wall ovens and a very cool range-top. Removing the soffits and going all the way to the ceiling with white cabinets and recessed lighting was transformational. The entire process was very pleasant, we worked very collaboratively with Jolynn and Jennie. CKB’s showroom/design center is very nice and it proved super helpful to see things in an actual space as we formulated ideas. The project timeline tracked to the plan right down to the day, which is amazing. They have awesome subcontractors that not only do great work, but are also on-time, courteous and just really nice people. We would highly recommend CBK.
Had remodeling done in most of house. Crystal Kitchen and Bath did an excellent job. Workers were competent and efficient. They really know their stuff. Completed on time per schedule. I would recommend them to anyone. Best experience with remodelers I’ve ever had.
We had a contractor forget we were scheduled for work in October. They referred us to Crystal who responded quickly. The consultation and design phase went smoothly with on site and showroom visits. Work started on time and kept to schedule. A few minor glitches, but nothing out of the ordinary for a project of this scope. The master bedroom had new cabinets installed and electrical adjustments. The master bath was completely renovated with a walk in shower (marble walls), two vanities, two storage closets, new pocket door and marble floor. Carpentry, plumbing, tile and electrical work were all first rate. Highly recommended.
We had a great experience working with Crystal Kitchen and Bath remodeling our kitchen and laundry room. Carol was especially helpful in creating our design taking into account what we were hoping to accomplish and what would work best for our specific situation. Were so happy with the results - its everything we wanted! Our kitchen is more open, better traffic flow, beautiful cabinets, and tons of counter space! Our laundry room finally looks clean and organized! The demo began right before the coronavirus stay at home order. We were so thankful they were able to continue working and could not speak more highly of all the workers that were involved in the project. They were friendly, considerate, always cleaned up and stayed on schedule. I highly recommend Crystal Kitchen and Bath not only for the high quality work, but for how well they listen and work to meet individual needs.
My home was built in 1956, a classic mid century ranch style home. The kitchen had been updated sometime in the early 2000s with early 1990s style cheap light oak cabinets and slippery ceramic tile flooring. It was ugly, dark, and dysfunctional, shut off from the large foyer and living room with an apple core of 4 small doors. My goal was to remove the apple core and improve ALL aspects of the kitchens functionality and aesthetics. CK & B accomplished that in 7 weeks. My kitchen now, although no larger, is both more functional and beautiful thanks to Kaitlyn and Jolynns assistance choosing a design plan and helping to narrow choices for the cabinets and other finishes. Jolynn provided a calendar detailing the daily 7 week construction activity scheduled and the workmen who would be working each day. The schedule was adhered to with only a few very minor exceptions and was completed on time. The workers were very skilled, respectful and pleasant. The apple core has been eliminated, the doors widened to allow a much better flow of traffic and light. The kitchen is now will lit with more storage, outlets, new flooring and beautiful finishes, Im very happy with the CK&B experience and the result.
Crystal Kitchen and Bath has done 2 major projects for us that both turned out beautiful. First, was an extensive kitchen remodel in our center hall colonial in Edina in Indian Hills. The second project, in our new home, was a bathroom master bedroom remodel that was also very extensive. CK+B works with master craftspeople that are very respectful of your home, family and the impact that remodeling means on your daily life. Joylnn, the owner, is great to work with. We highly recommend CK+B; repeat happy customers.
After looking at many possibilities for new construction and existing homes but not finding an exact fit, we decided to stay in our home of 25 years and remodel the kitchen and family room. Through a referral from a friend, we visited Crystal Kitchen and Bath. It was great to see so many room ideas displayed in their showroom. Another valuable way to get to know the quality of the company was to attend Crystal Kitchen’s seminar on the remodel process and what to expect in a quality contractor. We have been satisfied throughout the whole process:* Working with Mary, the designer, on the vision, the style, and then the plan; helping us all along the way with the selections* The scope of the project was well defined and written out so everyone knew what to expect, including allowing us to organize specific projects ourselves* The work schedule was provided at the outset of the project and each subcontractor showed up on time and finished the work on time* Our project manager, Lisa, was very responsive to questions along the way and kept us up to date with details as they arose* The sub contractors were professional and well trained in their craft; they were a pleasure to have in our home* Jolynn and Mary came on site regularly and made additional trips when further clarification was needed* The final punch list was attended to by Jolynn to make sure everything was completedThe quality of the cabinets and materials and workmanship are top notch. They transformed our kitchen and family room into a beautiful new space where we will be happy to spend time with family and friends.Thank you for making the process easy to live through and making the new space a joy to live in every day.
Usually with a remodeling project there is trade off with cost and quality. With Crystal Kitchens I felt like we had an amazing result at a very competitive price, and the service was excellent. Timelines were met and the staff were friendly and efficient.Tearing out and replacing your kitchen is never easy given that you don’t have a kitchen. Planning is critical, and our designer was thoughtful and thorough crafting a plan that created a beautiful kitchen without cost over runs and delays. The tear out went extremely well without damage to surrounding walls, floors and cabinets. The project manager had a “no nonsense” approach with direct communication and clear expectations. Our carpenter was a joy to work with, and it is a rare life event when you actually look forward to a contractor coming in to your home. The “subs”, electricians and plumbers, were extraordinary in their speed and efficiency. We have very high standards and have worked with a lot of contractors. Given the scope of this project and the need for attention to detail, Crystal Kitchens gets a A+ from us.Tim and Sharon
We are still pleased with our complete cabin remodel and look forward to spending more time there. The master bathroom has been our biggest pleasant surprise – during all of the planning we really focused on the kitchen and the entry way/foyer area, although we did spend a fair amount of time for the bathrooms too. The kitchen and the foyer are what we expected or hoped them to be which is great. However, now actually getting a chance to use the cabin, I really appreciate how functional, and pleasing the bathroom has turned out to be – better than we expected! Whenever guests see the any of the project the first time we always hear Oh Wow! So Thank You for all your help.Grey and Sandy, Emily, MN
After updating much of our 1980s home, we needed to tackle the biggest part - the kitchen! Way too much golden oak to continue living with :) CK&B had remodeled a friends kitchen, and she recommended them. I attended one of their seminars, liked what I saw, and the way Jolynn answered questions - both the easy ones and the tough ones. The design process went smoothly - I felt Mary really listened to our needs and wants, and gave her honest, professional thoughts. She also seemed to get our vibe pretty quickly, so all was well. Her option selections were right on with my taste.Given what we were doing in the kitchen, we wanted to incorporate changes in the living room, family room and stairway. So this was pretty extensive, but not unexpected. My husband had been a general contractor, so we already knew quite a bit going into the remodel. Budget was not a surprise, and Jolynn was able to work around the parts that we contracted ourselves. The timeline was pretty seamless. No small feat!Jolynn handled a countertop delay very well - bad news delivered early was way better than bad news delivered late! She worked with the supplier to mitigate the delay, and there were no issues. We also experienced an issue with the interior of our cabinets, but that was also managed to our satisfaction.Given we had many moving pieces to this project, it went extremely well, and we are pleased with the results. A less experienced and professional company would have been a nightmare. Our new open first floor looks and functions beautifully now. The light streams though all the rooms, and the space is lovely when the sun is out and when its moody outside. We have gotten so many compliments, and the house is no longer stuck in the 80s!
We are so pleased with the outcome of the remodel Crystal Kitchen + Bath recently did for our kitchen and bathrooms. We had late 1980s cabinets, fixtures and tile and worn flooring and ceilings and were in great need of complete updating. Working with CK+B owner Jolynn and designer Mary was a success story in the making right from the beginning. The project schedule, contract documents and project management that were provided by Jolynn was accurate, informative and complete. The cabinet and floorplan drawings by Mary were finely detailed and well done and her design recommendations and selections, as well as the assistance from the rest of the CK+B team that worked on our project, helped us achieve a beautiful, final outcome that fit our style exactly. The project involved a very large part of our home and could have potentially been a frustrating time. However, we actually found the entire process to be enjoyable while we watched the daily, professional progress by the CK+B team. Any issues that needed attention were quickly reviewed and resolved. We highly recommend CK+B and would definitely work with them again.
In the fall of 2000, we decided that our mint green metal cabinets and outdated appliances needed replacing. Earlier that spring, we had toured a kitchen during the Remodelers Showcase that we were quite impressed with. This is how we found Crystal Kitchens. We consulted with them during the summer and by November, we were enjoying a brand new kitchen. We were incredibly impressed by their workmanship. Thats why 16 years later, we have turned to Crystal Kitchens to again update our kitchen. Our work will begin in the coming month and we have every confidence that we will be thrilled, once again, with the outcome. We highly recommend their services!
We moved back to our beloved Minneapolis home after an adventure living in California - and found that our second floor bathroom desperately needed an update. After talking with several contractors, we called Crystal as they had done a great job with our kitchen ten years ago. Thats when we learned they also specialized in bath renovations.Nothing about upgrading a bathroom is easy, but working with Jolynn and her team was as close to easy as it gets. She was there when she said shed be. Her plumbers, electricians, the tile guy, installers - all were scheduled and timely and pleasant - and really good at their work. Carol, the designer, heard us and adapted to our preferences...and it turns out she was right about those features she recommended. All in all - I highly recommend working with the professionals at CK+B.
We purchased our house 28 years ago as our first, “starter” home but now our “starter” home is becoming our retirement home where comfort and relaxation are our main priorities. We were looking for a remodeler that could combine our design sensibility and deliver against timelines and budgets with no surprises.Crystal Kitchen and Bath exceeded our expectations in both areas! Our remodel was extensive: the upstairs bath was completely redone, one the main floor, the kitchen and dining room were flipped so that large windows, an island and a fireplace could be added. Throughout the house, we said “Good Bye” to the 1980s from the popcorn ceilings to the whitewashed oak cabinets- everything received a facelift. We couldn’t be more excited by the final results -thank you to everyone at Crystal Kitchen and Bath that made our remodel so amazing!
The new backsplash on my kitchen looks out of this world. Crystal Kitchen Center did a great job! Ill definitely call them for their services again in the future.
Jolynn & her team of designers ability too understand the goals of our project and come up with a unique and exciting design was impressive. We enjoyed working with them.
We want to thank you and your team for the wonderful experience we had with Crystal Kitchen and Bath. We finally have the beautiful kitchen we dreamed of!As you saw, our kitchen was a complete disaster. The cupboards were falling apart, the lights over the sink didn’t work, the walls needed painting and the layout was totally disfunctional. We stopped at CK&B one Saturday morning just to “take a peek” and ended up talking with an amazing designer (Mary). As Mary was showing us around and talked through what CK&B could provide, my husband said to me “this is exactly what you have been looking for” and that’s when the relationship began.Mary proceeded to work tirelessly putting plans together until we were completely satisfied with the layout. She re-engineered our entire kitchen so it would be much more functional for us all while keeping in mind the style of our home, our wants, needs and budget. She had such a great way of pointing out 3 or 4 options which she thought would work in our space so the project wouldn’t feel so overwhelming to us.Once the project began, we were wondering what we had gotten ourselves into but, all of the contractors who worked on our kitchen were very professional, honest, reliable and on time. We felt comfortable having them in our home and each showed the passion to do quality work and seemed like they really enjoyed working with CK&B. We have been so pleased with the craftsmanship.Jolynn, you had a tall order to fill when we said we needed the project completed before our son’s graduation party but, you were so organized, communicated with us about every detail and really kept the project on task so the short deadline was attainable. You and your team are absolutely one of the best! The kitchen CK&B created for us is truly amazing! It went from a complete disaster to a gorgeous “wow” space thanks to you and your team.Best wishes for much success in the upcoming years.Mike and Amy B.
We loved our kitchen remodel so much, we chose CKC to do fourothers remodels. With Crystal, good design is a given, but wefound that you can’t put a price on passion, integrity, attentionto detail and having a project go smoothly from start to finish. They were worth every penny. We love working with Jolynn andCKC.Holly and Matt, Maple Grove
Coming from out of state, we were overwhelmed by all of the coordination needed for a partial rehab of our new condo kitchen. CK&B was a lifesaver! The decorator, Carol, provided suggestions for the sink, backsplash tile and countertop, so we did not need to spend significant time visiting other sites. When problems came up, the owner, Jolynn, communicated with the contractors on the adjustments and timeline for the work and got back to us. Both individuals stopped to check on the work during the rehab process. When the work was done, the kitchen looked great.
It started with 30 year old appliances on their last legs. I could not see placing new appliances in the context of the existing kitchen in my 1985 townhouse. I attended one of the free seminars put on by Crystal Kitchen Center and was impressed by Jolynns explanation of her company’s process and the pictures of beautifully finished projects. After speaking with Mary, one of the designers, I was encouraged to think seriously about moving forward with the project.During our first meeting Mary used the Kitchen Design Questionnaire to guide our conversation and to develop an understanding of the scope of the project as well as an overall sense of my design taste. Mary and I met several times to review draft plans she developed based on our discussions. Meeting in the company’s show room assisted the decision-making as Mary could show me the design options to consider within a kitchen set-up. Mary facilitated other decisions by making referrals to vendors and scheduling visits with me. By the time we finalized the design plan almost all products were selected and we were ready to move ahead.Once Jolynn established the project schedule there were few changes. Each of the subcontractors was friendly and respectful, skilled at what they did. The project finished as planned and scheduled. Communication throughout the process was wonderful. Both Mary and Jolynn kept me well informed and responded to any questions or issues I had in a timely manner. They both offered thoughtful suggestions and considerations throughout the project which resulted in an improved outcome. Although the priority was the kitchen, the project created an open floor plan and included updates to the dining and living room area – adding additional lighting and cabinetry, painting, and refinishing the existing wood flooring.I am delighted with the finished project. I have a beautiful kitchen that is a pleasure to work in as well as a freshly updated open living space. The kitchen is bright and well designed. Mary and Jolynn managed to include all of my priorities as well as a few extras!
I just finished my fourth remodeling job with CKC. This time it was updating a kitchen - granite counters, sink, floor, vent, lighting and a cabinet. The was done perfectly, and on time. That is why I keep returning to CKC. They get everybody lined up, solve any problems that arise, keep everything going according the the timetable, keep the cost reasonable, and in the end I get a wonderful result!
We bought our 1984 Parade of Homes house in 1986. In 2016 our master bath and dressing area still had the same wallpaper, tile and fixtures from 1984. We called Barb and Jolynn at Crystal Kitchen and Bath who helped us refresh our 1984 kitchen in 2014 to help us with the master bath and dressing area remodelWe wanted to stay within the existing footprint but wanted a new sink, tub, toilet, new tile, Cambria tops and paint rather than wallpaper. Barb who helped us with our kitchen provided the design and Jolynn provided and managed the project plan. All the craftsmen, e.g. plumber, tile person, sheet rock person, electrician, carpenter, painters and Bruce were professional and ensured everything was done to our satisfaction. Jolynn and Barb stayed on top of the project and checked in often ro ensure everything was coming along as planned. When you work with Crystal Kitchen and Bath you know what to expect. Everything is in writing so there are no surprises. The area is move in ready after the remodel. I like that Im working with a licensed woman owned business who hires licensed professionals. Our master bathroom and dressing area looks great.
We are thrilled with our remodeled kitchen and bathroom. We were really impressed with the customer service. I did a lot of research and took a leap of faith and hired CKC. One of the many things CKC did was they thoroughly explained the process and helped us make decisions before the construction began. This helped us avoid change orders and be more cost efficient. CKC actually noticed and corrected a situation that we werent, aware of and did it at no cost to us.Stacy and Paul
We recently had a small update of our 1959 kitchen counters and back splash done by CKB. We learned quickly that there are no small jobs when plumbing, wiring, counters, and walls are concerned.Carol Kornak patiently guided me through the process of choosing a granite counter top and complementary tile. In short order, 4 days were scheduled to complete the job. Every plumber, electrician, and tile person was a true expert who worked quickly and efficiently to complete the job on time. We are especially grateful to Bruce for his expertise in making sure that every detail was completed to our satisfaction. Jolynn was always available and responsive if we had any questions. Our kitchen is now beautiful, light, and airy. We couldnt be more pleased and will bedelighted to recommend CKB to all of our friends and neighbors.
We engaged CKC do a major update on our prairie style home built in 1978. Some updates had been done over the years, some of which we wanted to retain. Other features needed a complete redo. We met Carol Kornak at a Remodeler’s Showcase home and after a long conversation decided she understood our style and what we were thinking of doing. She offered a free in-office discussion which we accepted. More comfortable now with her listening to our ideas and offering us some initial suggestions, we decided to go forward with a full design contract. As Carol’s initial design was presented, we also met Jolynn Johnson. Carol and Jolynn brought their experience to the design suggesting things we hadn’t thought about. For example, Jolynn suggested replacing our conventional laundry room door with a pocket door. We hadn’t voiced that the door seemed always in the way of the dryer – so the pocket door suggestion was an immediate “yes!”. Carol proposed a redesign of the kitchen floorplan to improve the workspace, cabinet and countertop layouts for better storage, and a clean contemporary look we were after. Following two or three iterations of our plan we decided CKC was the right contractor to carry out our project. There may have been less expensive companies for hire, but we had developed confidence in Carol and Jolynn. The project entailed a complete redesign and reconstruction of our kitchen, replacement of all the “builder grade” interior doors and hardware, refinishing of our red oak floor, new lighting, a new look for each of the bathrooms, and replacement of all the outdated and water-wasting plumbing fixtures. Nearly every room of the house was touched in some way! As the plan was cemented, Jolynn gave us a project schedule of about eight weeks. Every key part of the project remained on schedule and on budget – only a few minor “punch list” details needed attention beyond the timeline – exactly as we’d come to expect of CKC.We found all the crafts people who worked on our home to be highly skilled and satisfied only with the highest workmanship. For example, we were satisfied with the match of a new ceiling portion to an older part. But Dan, who was doing the ceiling work, said “… I don’t think it quite matches...Let me have another try at it…”. When he was done the match was perfect! The finish carpenter Mark is a true perfectionist and his work even impressed these perfectionist homeowners! The floor refinishers did an excellent job on our difficult floor – many visitors have remarked at the floor’s transformation. At the end of each workday, the crews cleaned up the day’s dust and clutter, really appreciated since we lived in the house during the entire process – albeit in our makeshift kitchen/living room in the basement! We had the “big reveal” to our family at a Fourth of July gathering. Everyone who has seen the finished project has been impressed with the result. We are very pleased with our “new house” and with the whole experience with Carol, Jolynn, and the CKC team.
Our condo was in dire need of an update from its original 1980s décor. After interviewing a number of design firms, we happened upon an ad for a CKCs Design Seminar. We were very impressed with the straightforward, no-nonsense, informative presentation. All it took was a brief discussion with Jolynn and Mary Maney to convince us that CKC was the ideal match for us.The kitchen and adjacent rooms were gutted. Walls were removed and needless passages were closed. What at first seemed like a daunting task to select materials for our project was greatly simplified by CKCs excellent relationship with their subcontractors and vendors. The knowledge and expertise of the entire Project Team was outstanding. All of our condo neighbors expressed their appreciation for the courtesy and consideration the Team had for them and their home during our project. Before the remodel we did very little cooking and relied a lot on take-out and microwave meals. Now we thoroughly enjoy cooking in our beautiful new kitchen. An added bonus we didnt expect is our weight loss and improved health. We are very pleased with the wonderful results and highly recommend Crystal Kitchen Center.Pat and Mary
