I would give zero stars if it was an option. They picked my mother up on time & the driver was professional who drove us to the doctor officeThe fun starts when I call to get picked up.The manager tells me I must wait an hour for the next available driver. Nobody told me this happens 60% of the time.My mother is a diabetic & needs her insulin at strict times of the day. I never use them Again. They are one and done in my book.
Drivers are nice, kind, professional, and friendly. However, my experience with 1st Choice was not the best with regard to scheduling and on-time performance.Pick up from a hospital to a nearby specialist was scheduled a few days in advance with 1st Choice. They arrived 1.5 hours late so the appt. was missed. They actually arrived for the pick up past the appointment time even though it was scheduled for 1:15 hours prior to the appointment, to travel 2 miles. The patient was waiting in a wheelchair for 1:45 hours at that point. Thankfully the Doctors office was flexible and was able to see the patient. The return trip pick up time was scheduled pursuant to their advice (to call 45-min ahead). I called 1st Choice and was given a pick up time of 45 minutes to 1 hour later. After 1:15 had passed and no show yet (though another 1st Choice Ambulette was dropping off someone) I called and was told that dispatch fumbled the schedule so the ambulette was never dispatched!! 30 minutes later an ambulette arrived. As noted, the drivers were on point. However, the scheduling and on-time performance was woefully inadequate.
Called for a quote, when I said a famous persons last name compared to mine, Steve really told me what he thought of that person. Highly offensive, unprofessional, and bad business. Such a prejudice, in todays environment.
They are not bad but need to hire more drivers as ambulettes return trip pick up time is too long.
Driver 98 is very rude to patient arm never cover
I always use 1st choice transportation service company. I use them 5 times a week.Recommend greatly. Jenn is very good dispatcher understanding, and friendly on the phone. Irene and Steven both of them are good drivers. Both drivers are always aware of their surroundings, drives within the law and anticipates danger. Both drivers are very Punctual courteous and helpful. Their vehicles always clean and comfortable. They try to get you to your appointment on time .
This was my first time riding with First Choice ambulette company & I must say the Van was so clean . Dwayne #88 so nice & polite, most importantly he was on TIME.
I started taking 1St Choice Ambulette when I was 18 years old and now I’m 33 years old and they have been taking me to dialysis 4 days a week and doctors appointment just about every other week overall 1St Choice is the best transportation I have ride with before I started with 1St Choice Ambulette I was with another Ambulette service and it was bad I would have to wait 2 to 3 hours after I was done with my appointment I love how 1St Choice always have a drive in the area so it don’t matter where you go for a doctors appointment it’s most likely there’s a driver in the area so you don’t have to wait to long to get transported back home. I’m not going to lie some of the drivers can be vary nasty and I just don’t want to get in the van with them but The OLDER staff members especially Irene Remy, Axel, Willy, Steven and Kirov van 90 van 56 the driver is nice but can be vary inpatient when he pick me up from dialysis or home van 76 the driver is a good and nice driver but Irene is especially my favorite driver that 1St Choice have the first time she picked me up she was so nice I and I just new I was going to love when she picked me up I wish Irene can pick me up all the time instead of some of these new drivers they have working with the company now but over all the Original are great assets to the company. Very courteous and respectable.
First choice. Ambulette services is a reliable entity. The OLDER staff members especially Irene Remy, Axel and Steven. Steven especially is my favourite but over all these four are great assets to the company. Very courteous and respectable.
Picks up my son grandmother theyre very reliable.. Irene and Stephen are her best drivers .. 90% of the time on time, very friendly, drives very well she feels very safe using 1st Choice ... L. Lewis
We started using First Choice Ambulette in March of 2019 when our mother started dialysis. So we get 6 trips a week with them. I find the company very reliable. Its a difficult job. Carrying passengers with special needs, the elderly, the patients on years of dialysis, are all very complicated. They try their utmost best to pick up our mom on time. It is only under extenuating circumstances, like weather, traffic jams, unexpected emergency with the previous passenger, that they would be late. And they always inform us. Starting with dispatchers Jenifer, Rosie, and Lance to drivers Willy, Irene, Steven, Ron, Othneil, Jean, Alex, Nestor and rest of the team, they have all gotten to know us and Mom and treat her with care and courtesy. They do their job with responsibility. Always taking all safety precautions.I read some of the old reviews in disbelief and then inquired directly from the company since I wasnt a customer then. Apparently, ever since Gil took over the company and Jenifer joined the company, there has been a complete overhaul. They add new vehicles every 3 months. And have a lot more drivers than they did in the past. I would encourage other current users to share their experience.

Was impressed by the service from Mr. Nicholas Boland 💪💪 excellent worker.
Ive been riding 1st choice with my father 3x/week for dialysis for a few months now and Ill be honest that my initial impression was awful (Though we didnt need ambulettes before and were accustomed to luxury minivans.) but I realize now you cant expect a level of quality like a 911 ambulance since most of them on this level of insurance are underpaid and probably have a LOT of costs involved in running such services. At least theyre trying to improve now by acquiring new vehicles and weeding out some of the subpar drivers. My biggest complaint is definitely the older trucks; Awful shocks, uncomfortable side seating (forcing you to lean forward otherwise you hit your head every bump), no headroom getting in/out, and theyre literally falling apart - one of the wheelchair lift bolts came loose on the highway almost hitting me a couple weeks ago. Its like a roller coaster ride in the older trucks and especially painful/exhausting if youre sitting in a side facing seat. My father doesnt even use a wheelchair so it would be nice to have better seating arrangements but at least now they let him sit in the comfortable front passenger seat now. Both of us have bad backs so the bumpy ride is not good for anyone with herniated or bulging discs, though I cant say how the ride is if one were in a wheelchair - I can only hope it would be a lot better. That said, the newer trucks are great! Smooth ride, lots of headroom, plenty of comfortable front-facing seats, working seatbelts, and we dont have to worry about unidentified flying bolts/screws.I also wanted to give a huge shout-out to Irene for her above and beyond service (We usually get her as our driver on Saturday). Very entertaining driver, never complained or drove away when we were running late, very smooth driving (newer vehicle), and excellent service helping him enter and exit the vehicle. Also has great timing on pickups (otherwise wed have to call) - shes often already inside helping him to the elevator and to the vehicle. My father even said once that we wouldnt still use them if it werent for drivers like her. Also very pleased with his usual driver Albert; ditto on much of the above - very polite, helpful, great driver, and excellent service.BUT... some of the drivers weve been stuck with on odd schedules have been pretty bad. Seemingly rude, talking on their phone the entire ride, arrive late, little effort helping in/out vehicle, and one driver just dumps him at the curb on the street corner making him walk by himself to the gate and up two sets of stairs. That is not an ambulette, not even taxis do that. AND one driver was so impatient he even threatened to call an ambulance and put him in the hospital just because he was moving too slowly after a rough dialysis. How can you trust someone to get a loved one there and back safely like that - especially if I need to take a day off and put my trust in a company, but I hear theyre under new management now so hopefully things improve.I do have to give them credit for working with us during tight schedules or when were running late or during holidays and bad weather - one of the drivers/dispatchers William even drove us himself last thanksgiving when no one was available and the schedules were all messed up - Thanks Will, we would have never made it there otherwise.Anyhow, to sum this up Id like to see more of the newer vehicles, better seating and shocks, and more permanent drivers so theyre not so short-handed arriving late a lot of the time, but to be honest WERE often late getting ready too so I cant blame them if theyre late once in awhile since I dont expect them to wait outside a half hour, but lately hes been late every day the past month... not sure if scheduling mixups or what. Also they could call us when theyre on the way or if running late so were not left wondering where our ride is. This way we could also let them know if were running a bit late and can notify his dialysis center ahead of time too.Ill update this review again next month if service has improved.
I want to thank mr.Nicholas Boland for helping me out. He is an extraordinary young man and a big help....
Best ambulette service ever. My wife just had a Pacemaker put in and we were afraid to drive her myself as she might fall. Driver came 5 minutes before due, took her in her wheelchairand safely put her in ambulette and safety wise was attached and comfortable. Drove us toDoctor being very pleasant all the way and put her into lobby as I myself wanted to takeher up.When her doctor was through I called for the pickup to go home.Lady that answered said she would call me back ASAP and give me an ETA and we should wait in the reception room. Pushed her wheelchair back in and sat down for two minutes and the driver WAS THERE.Nicest and also as competent as first driver.Took her down and we waited 30 seconds and the van was there. He took her out to it, loaded her in as before and away we wenthome.Got home, got her out and wheeled her into the house and was also pleasant all the way home.by the way.We actually enjoyed both drives and of course in going we got there evenbefore scheduled appointment.
Mr Raymond provides excellent customer service
Love this Company Nicholas Boland was extraordinary
This was a trip to the doctor with my 93 year old wheelchair bound father. The driver was nasty and controlling. The seat was enormous made for a fat person and did not adjust to small. So on the ride back I sat in the front where there was an adjustable seat belt. He told me I had to sit in the back. I said but the seat belt is to big for me and he kept telling me to sit in the back and there was a seat belt. I sat there and showed him how it didnt fit me since I am thin. He insisted I sit there and said Its a seat belt Then he gave me the form to sign and I gave it back but he ignored me so I dropped it on the seat next to him. He sad I gave it to you in your hand, give it back to me in my hand I said NO.
Great driver excellent service by Nicholas
Driver showed up 1/2 our late without any sense of urgency. Dispatch did not pick up when I called for return ride and I had to load my elderly mother (with a broken leg) into my car. They refused to refund 1/2 of my $130.00NEVER AGAIN!!!!
