SPEARity was originally recommended to me as business coaching program that would give me accountability and support for my sales and financial goals, but turned out to be much more than that. It’s a multi-faceted process to get your business and your life where you want it to be.SPEARity is a desktop based app for long and short-term planning and goal setting. You use it to make weekly and daily productivity plans based on your quarterly and yearly goals. You also use it to reflect and analyze what you’ve done and to realign based on that analysis, so you can do more of what works and less of what doesn’t work.SPEARity is also bi-weekly one-on-one coaching for support, accountability and keeping you on track. SPEARity was first introduced to our organization by our co-founder and CEO. Prior to introducing us to Darren, our CEO had been working with him for about six months – the change in him was so evident and so positive! As an emerging leader in our organization, I was thrilled to have an opportunity to work with a business coach.Along with the rest of our management team, I obtained my SPEAR certification in 2017. I could write a novel on how SPEARity completely changed the way we operate as an organization, allowing us to double in size and increase our revenue in 2018. However, Ill simply summarize the two greatest areas of improvement:1. Goal setting and accountability-Prior to working with Darren, we didn’t set clearly defined goals, nor did we meet regularly as a leadership team. Darren helped us get smart about our goal setting. He ensured that we established regular meetings to keep us on track, without wasting our time.-As an organization, we now hold regular, and relevant, meetings: Quarterly and annual planning meetings with c-levels, directors, and management team; weekly 15-minute director to CEO check-ins; weekly 15-minute manager to director check-ins; bi-weekly 15-minute lead to manager check-ins-Corporate structure focused on succession planning, elevating our leaders, and identifying and growing our emerging leaders2. Leadership opportunities-By elevating our management team, we put them in a position to better identify emerging leaders on their teams. This allowed us to create more leadership opportunities in every department.-As we grew, we created “pods” in each department, overseen by team leads.-Our 2019 focus is on leadership development and continuous training. We want to harness the talents of our team members and help them forge a career path with InCheck!The SPEARity app has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. While I’m very organized, I struggled to find the best way to track my daily, weekly, and quarterly tasks. To be honest, I only tracked my daily to do’s without focusing on goals, which essentially meant my goals were very abstract, and not always achievable. Our quarterly meetings hold me accountable to goal setting, and the app keeps me on track. I know that when I SPEAR every day, I’ll crush my goals – even when I’m having an off day!Thank you, Darren and SPEARity for everything you’ve done for our organization, our leaders, and for me. The support I’ve received, both personally and professionally, has been instrumental in my growth as a leader.
