Reasonably priced auto repair. The staff is nice. They have very little waiting room space, so dont plan to stay and hang out during your repairs. During the pandemic, all the people I interacted with wore masks.

Had a tune up of sorts and oil changes done on my vehicles and I was pleasantly surprised at how thorough they were, and how detailed an investigation they did to check everything on my car- Their prices are fair, and their staff was really easy to work with both of the times I stopped in.

On top of being very hardworking Ark and his mechanics on staff are very honest and committed to their work. My 92 Volvo 240 wagon gets the love it needs when I cannot attend to repairs myself. I went to Lindems Auto for a tire patch repair for my flat tire and I was blown away by the service I was given! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the patch took 5 minutes tops! They gave me a great price for the patch as well. I was dropped off by a friend at Lindems Auto and was just going to take the bus home and instead they gave me a ride home AND installed the tire back onto the car for me. Definitely will return back here for any future car issues I run into! Highly suggest!!!

Been going to Lindems for years now. They always do superb and honest work whether it was my old barely running clunker of a car or my newer car that needs regular maintenance and upkeep and they ALWAYS ask me before they touch anything not discussed. They always seem to fit me into their schedule at my convenience even when it is a last minute tire patch before a road trip. The only mechanic I trust in the Milwaukee area.

The woman who worked the desk was very rude and attempted to charge me $20 more than what the mechanic had communicated to me (and the total that was on the paper I signed when dropping my car off). It wasn’t the petty $20 that upset me, but rather the general disrespect and strange attempt at “conning” me out of $20.....Also, pretty sure the mechanic messed up the lock on my drivers side door. 0/5 would NOT recommend.

I’ve been going to Lindems for the past 6-8 years and I wouldn’t take my Volkswagen Jetta anywhere else. They have very qualified mechanics for all types of vehicles and are always welcoming and professional. We brought our truck to get some body work done. Instead of putting a new part, they fixed existing one, some spots of damaged body they had ignored. I couldn’t take my truck on the road on time because it wasn’t ready by the day they promised to me it will be done! I paid for hotel for me and my co-driver extra 3 days which I didn’t count on at all! When I’ve simply asked about three days delay and hotel related expenses for me and co-worker ($200) Ark (owner) started shout at me! He pointed he’s not making enough money on my car. And he doesn’t care about the delay and my expenses. Even he knew this is a commercial truck my company pays for $190 daily cost.I’ve also been told to get out and never come back. I left this place with screwed feelings as a customer who not only spent $1800 for my car but also tons of my nerves and ruined faith in American customer service.I wish You won’t be next. Highly not recommended.

Left car for a thermostat replacement with an indefinite wait period, nothing more discussed. They called 4 days later telling me they had to also replace the catalytic converter and water pump, but they were giving me a great deal at $1600. Whether or not I saved a couple hundred dollars on what those repairs would normally cost, its no amazing deal when you left thinking your bill would be $200 to $300. No shop I have been to would ever make repairs on something without informing you first, especially when you specified what you wanted done.Owner is belligerent as well when confronted on his shady practices. Had to hang up the phone to avoid being cursed at any longer. Currently seeking legal counsel on the issue and have already been told what they did was completely illegal. I see several people had great experiences there (assuming theyre all authentic customers, not friends of the shop or burner accounts by owner)...I also see several having experiences similar to my own. Id suggest trying any other shop, unless you want to gamble which experience they want to give you that day.

Sincerely the very best customer service and repair work that I have encountered. Great communication. I have been to a lot of auto repair shops in my lifetime. Their integrity and honesty provide me the security that my automobiles will be fixed right.

As a young woman with very little car knowledge, I try to avoid going to the mechanic alone, but my car broke down on Capitol and I am very thankful I found this place.Ark not only told me what was wrong but took the time to show me the problems with my car even though they were very busy. He did not try to upsell me on anything and their prices were incredibly reasonable. His wife Ana was kind and courteous to me, and they even lent me a loaner car even though I spent very little money.This is the only place in Milwaukee I will go now if my car has problems. This is a family operated business and my go to place for trustworthy and fair priced auto repair. I have found the management at Lindems to be honest in every regard. There are always opportunities for a repair shop to pad the bill . . . not at this place. They will give you a realistic assessment about your repair request. They even discourage repairs if they feel your vehicle no longer warrants the investment. Thats honesty!

This is my second review for Lindems. Went there to have them help me with a leaking headliner on my Subaru Outback. My Subaru sevice department was not helpful at all and wanted to charge me hundreds just to figure out the issue. Lindems took care of it in just a few hrs. and for less cost than what Subaru charged just to tell me they cant fix it. I will NEVER return to Subaru dealer for my car. Lindem is my new love!!!!

We left our truck there for several months so we were charged for storage and 11 hours of labor totaling $1000The 11 hours of labor was for moving the truck in & out of the garage as well as driving it on and off the street.We had repair work done which totalled $1800 so a test drive had been doneWhen we were less than a mile from the shop when our truck started to SMELL and SMOKE! Our breaks were on fire! 🔥We should have been told about this immediately especially since they had the truck almost 5 months and driven it a total of 11 hours.We were put in unnecessary danger. It was reckless not to provide me with the damage to the breaks.

I have had nothing but great experiences here. Ark is an honest mechanic you can trust. I brought my car in when I got it for them to check over and they said everything was great (when others may have seen a money making opportunity). I had a few lights replaced and a tired and the price was more than fair.This year I brought my car in because, after going to the dealership for an oil change and new key they gave me a list of things that needed fixing. So I took my car to Ark- and he didnt even want to know what they had suggested because he didnt want to rip me off. Its super appreciated since he suggested only the sway bar links need replacing.I definitely trust Ark and Lindems auto. And its a big deal for a girl in Milwaukee to find a trustworthy mechanic.

When I first moved to Milwaukee I did all my repairs on my own. I did not trust a soul to do my repairs. I was recommended by two of my friends here. It was a good sign to see a 60s era Volvo Amazon in the shop (as all I drive a vintage 200 series Volvos). The prices are reasonable and the work is honest and highly satisfactory. I have always been impressed with the quality work I have had experiences at Lindems Auto Repir and I am happy to know mechanics that I can trust (for the 1st time in decades).

He did not do his job

Please be aware, if you have taken your vehicle here and they have done any repairs without your consent, they have broken the law. My girlfriend had taken in her Volvo that was having problems with stalling, hoping they would diagnose the problem. She had specifically asked to be called back before anything was done. Later in the day they called back saying everything was fixed, and it would be about $800 for all repairs. She unfortunately didnt ask for an explanation on the phone, so I decided to go down with her to see why it had amounted to that price.I contacted the DATCP beforehand just to see if what they had done was within their rights. They informed me that if she hadnt consented to any work, what they did was definitely illegal. They even offered to send an officer if anything went awry when I was to talk to them.After arriving there and meeting the woman at the desk, I asked what exactly my girlfriend was being charged for. The only clear answer she could give was a fuel pump relay switch replacement, a roughly $15 part that a YouTube search showed could be replaced in under 5 minutes. I began to explain to her the questionable pricing and how my girlfriend had asked to be contacted about any repairs before being made, when suddenly her face dropped and she immediately called her husband. Her reaction gave off a strong vibe that this wasnt the first time this had been brought up.The man came out asking the problem, she explained off to the side, and he walked up and immediately became hostile, demanding to know why we were refusing to pay. I said that I had simply began to ask about the bill when he was called out, and still hadnt been given a clear answer. I then mentioned speaking to the DATCP, and before I could finish he went apeshit. While cursing and calling us crooks (please be aware I hadnt even refused the payment, I had only asked questions and stated my awareness of the law), he told his wife to grab our (expletive) keys.After a few more moments of being berated, he ripped up the paperwork and left the area. His wife then released the car to us, making sure to inform me that they were trying to be good people and that cheats like us were robbing them and ruining their name. I once again reiterated that I had done nothing more than brought up the issues with the bill and explained rights as a customer, rights that they would have no excuse not to be aware of. Nothing more was said, and the car was returned without further incident.I dont know if people have legitimately taken advantage of this business before, leading to their behavior. But from my personal experience, they had most certainly tried to take advantage of an uninformed customer in my girlfriend. The fact that they simply ripped up the paperwork and handed over the car after mentioning contacting the DATCP, without ever offering a clear explanation of what amounted to $800 or why my girlfriend wasnt contacted before repairs, doesnt do anything to convince me that theyre running an honest business 100% of the time.I didnt expect this to turn out this long, but wanted to give as many details as possible in case anyone can draw any parallels to anything theyve experienced. Please just be aware of your rights before going here, or any auto shop for that matter. Dont hesitate to call the DATCP or a lawyer if you think something is fishy, vague, or even if youre just confused as to what is actually going on. Repair fraud is a much more common thing than you may be aware.

My family has been loyal Lindems customers for nearly a decade. Ark and Anna are straight shooters, know their cars, and treat customers fairly. I can always count on them to give me the best price and options for repair and they stand by their work. Over the course of 5 years they have helped me replace my entire suspension of my 20 year old BMW. Whereas other shops and dealers would have insisted that I replace everything at once, weve been working on an as needed basis allowing me to keep within budget and not pay to replace perfectly good parts.I trusted them enough to buy my newer BMW from them because they would stand behind the car. They have been great with it as well.The negative reviews Ive seen are mostly emissions checking related which in my experience tends to bring the worst out in people. (Annoyance of govt interference, penalties, late charges, unexpected repairs, or long overdue repairs - all above and beyond the usual issues of getting your car serviced or repaired). Ive heard many exasperated emissions customers annoyed that Lindems wont bend the rules for their P.o.S. car thats belching exhaust and the muffler is dragging on the ground.Lindems is fair, ethical, and responsible. Their only quirk, is that rarely call you back. Just call them back

These are the most rudest people Ive ever dealt with. I went in to have an emissions test done and breaks and a tune up. The woman was rude cutting me off after one or two words. I wanted to schedule an appointment but she already scheduled me into one without even asking me was I available! I cancelled and just got my emissions test. The men that work there as well have no customer service skills and speak to you in a derogatory manner because I know about the pieces to my car and they tried to argue with me otherwise. Needless to say I will never look to that establishment again for service.

A one star would be too much for this place. I paid $6,000 to get my car fixed and i later found out that the hood to this day does not open and have to use a screw driver to open it. The fog lights are disconnected. Some of the rudest business owners i have ever encountered. SO much so that it is not even worth the head ache of going back to deal with this. Very disappointed, i wouldt go back there even if walking was my only other option. Took my car in for body work and my car came back with more paint marks than it went in with. Absolute careless service and quick fix no trouble shooting at all. I will say that the prices are slightly lowe than else where but if you are ok with going somewhere else and paying to finish the job and end up paying near double then great. But id say just save yourself the headache and spend the extra 10% and get it done right.

They do not do emissions testing here! Google needs to change this so that it doesnt come up on on list when you search
