I had my taxes done in March. At the conclusion of my appointment my H&R Block agent asked me if I wanted to pay the amount I owed for my Federal Taxes before I left. I said yes and gave her all the information she asked for to arrange to have it paid in full from my bank account. Last month I got a notice from the IRS saying I did not pay my Federal Taxes. I checked my bank statement and verified the amount was withdrawn from my account on the day I visited the H&R Block office. I returned to the office to inquire what happened to my payment. The only answer I was given was to contact the IRS. I told H&R Block I didnt even have information about how the payment was made except that H&R Block was the one who arranged it through whatever payment service they use. Again, I was told I would need to contact the IRS and that was it. The exact amount of my Federal Tax money owed was taken from my bank account the day I visited H&R Block. Im now left trying to fill in blanks about who withdrew the money from my account and where that amount went, and deal with an impatient and threatening IRS wanting their money NOW. H&R Block says they stand behind their service. No they do not! Their answer is to pass the buck and simply say contact the IRS. I will NEVER use H&R Block again and will recommend to anyone else to avoid them.

I can’t rate them on how well they did our taxes because we ended up leaving before they even looked them! We arrived on time for our 4pm appointment and was told by reception that she was running late and it would probably be 10 minutes. Okay fine. No big deal. But 45 minutes later (no one spoke to us at all during this time we were just ignored in the lobby) the 5pm appointment showed up to check in. Our lady finally came out to talk to him, not us, about still being late. When it was pointed out by us and the receptionist that we were her 4pm appointment and still waiting to see her, she finally talked to us. And said that she was running late because the client she was working with was missing documentation and COULD WE COME BACK AT 6? At 6? Why because you are going to take the 5pm appointment that just showed up and completely skip us, your 4pm? And also if they are missing documents they should be asked to come back later and we should have had our appointment as scheduled! I left work early to get to that appointment! Zero communication, zero professionalism. We left and our taking our taxes elsewhere, and will not be using H&R Block in the future. Very disappointed in our experience.*update: I originally had this as a one star review but they did call me today, within 24hrs of our botched appointment, to apologize and see if they could be of any help to complete our taxes. (Which we had already gotten done elsewhere). While I still dont think we will be using HR Block in the future, I do appreciate the professionalism of the follow up call after our bad experience.

Got an appointment fast. Even though the office was short handed due to covid, the gentlemen was able to multitask with no problems. I got a max refund, they able to help with stimulus money as well which was huge help. I cant remember his name but I definitely reccomend the St. johns street office. Ive gone there the last three years and always had a great outcome. Thank you!

It took more than 6 months for the branch to file my returns. I had send more than a dozen emails, made multiple visits to the stores and made numerous phone calls. All evidence is available.

Without asking me, the preparer added a $40 charge to my return so she would get paid out of my return. I didnt ask for or want that. I was prepared to pay for the service. It seems excessive to charge a $40 fee for a $130 charge (loan) for a couple of weeks. Seems like usury to me. By the time I was made aware of the charge, my return had already been electronically submitted & accepted, so she said there was no way to go back & change it.

Gentlemen at the counter not wearing a mask and when he was asked to put it on for safety, instead of doing so right away, he repeated false insignificant facts instead. He was not worried about the health of ones around him AT ALL. Our business can be taken elsewhere, we didnt go to do our taxes to hear about someones thoughts about how covid isnt that deadly, I suggest someone talks to him about his attitude towards the well being of all that enter your place of business. Very unprofessional & unkind. Will not be recommending this particular branch because of this gentleman.

Went in to figure out my taxes, and I wasnt able to even ask question. Instead of being help I was told to do stuff I dont know why Im doing it. Not helpful and didnt explain a why, wish I knew who to complain to but they dont help you there either.

She was speaking so loudly everyone in room could hear information about my income and account numbers. Mary was not very professional at all and it seemed like she wanted to charge me maximum fee versus getting me the maximum refund. I wish I had gone elsewhere more personal or don’t the tax myself. I will be sharing my experience with everyone.

Im only disappointed that I cannot give this team a higher rating!

I was extremely unhappy with our tax preparer and her professionalism. She missed our state tax return, didnt follow up on setting an appointment and when we came to check in on the state return, she totally forgot who we were even though weve had her prepare our taxes 2 years in a row and she had just seen us three days prior for almost 2 hours. Then she didnt have it done for the appointment time and we now have to come back a third time. Very unprofessional!

I was blindsided by the idea that filing married would make our appointment price be charged for 2 people. We didnt get any money back for our return, we owed and set up a payment plan and then had to pay the appointment fee upfront which was almost $500.00

First I was told Ill get $200 tax return, so I complained, it turned out she forgot to add that I had insurance. she then told me Ill get $900 so I complained again and it turns out she forgot another thing now Im getting $1011 even though my astimate at turbo tax sain $1300, I dont what else she might have forgotten. Then she charged me $104 for a her sirvace instead of $60. I always used H&R block Ill never use it again.
