Bought a Piano/stand/bench today, The staff(Andrew B) was very helpful. He took the time to guide me on the type of piano I needed for my son. I was kind of overwhelmed with the welcoming environment. I had the same experience a few months ago when I rented a violin for one of my kids. Looks like I found a new place to purchase all my kids musical stuff. Possibly take some lessons too😊

Im new to the music scene and these guys got my back. I took some lessons and the instructor was really nice, the pace was perfect. It was all I needed to gain a little prep into going about it on my own outside the classroom! The service is willing and very welcoming. I got some heads ups on different recording interfaces and it ended up really helping my overall studio setup in the end. These guys like seeing you come in, so dont be shy.If you are looking for a good guitar instructor, talk to Clay!

I am not one to usually review a place...but I had such a wonderful experience here I thought it shouldnt go unnoticed! I went to Music and Arts on a Tuesday night and was helped by Mike. He assisted me with assessing an older instrument in need of repairs was so helpful and truly honest about what he saw. Just an overall great experience!! They were out of stock on the Trumpet starter kits so He called around to other stores in order to secure one for me..it was totally unnecessary but he was determined to make sure we had what we wanted for a successful start. I was so appreciative! Everyone was friendly and helpful - I even saw a younger employee assisting another couple about a guitar for their son and he too was fabulous!! all around great, helpful, and honest folks!!!Will be going here again for my music needs!

Good staff, good selection, and sweet practice spaces. Unless you play a glass harmonica or some esoteric instrument, theyve got what you need to continue rocking on.

Its a cool little store. Its not the nicest, but you cant expect much from that part of Milford. The staff is very helpful, if they dont have something in stock, they order it for you and call when it arrives. If they have a shipment of said item coming in, they always set one aside for me until I came again. Theyre very easy to talk to and they definitely know what theyre doing. I take lessons here too, the teachers are very nice and helpful. I love my lessons, and if I need to buy a book or something for them, they give you student discount for taking lessons. Theres a ton of traffic sometimes, but it depends on the time of day, but if you dont like waiting, theres always back roads. A lot of the streets are one way if you take the back roads, so I wouldnt recommend taking them if you dont know where youre going because you cant just turn around and go back if you get lost.

I love this store. I dont go to any of the big name music stores anymore but just come here instead. I know its part of a chain but it really has more of an individual feel. Great special events, lots of lesson times and theyre within a two minute walk of the municipal lot right in the middle of Milford so very convenient to get to by car. Traffic in Milford is not the stores fault: you just have to know when to travel around Milford, as most of us do who have lived here for any length of time. Theres a nice mix of very useful electric and acoustic guitars (my focus) and if they dont have something you want, theyll order it and call you when its in. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. I bought guitars from them, I rented instruments for my kids from them and Im constantly picking up accessories that I need. My friendly local music shop.

First.. as qualifier, I try my best to purchase locally. To me, it is very important to support local businesses.. you know.. the ones that help out with the local little league teams, provide jobs (real life experiences) to youth, etc. You are not going to get that from some faceless corp headquarters down in Atlanta. That said.. as long as local business can come somewhat close to on -line sources, I go with local businesses. For what may be perhaps petty change it is well worth supporting a nearby local businesses. Keeping them in business also means we have local places to go try out (hands on) items we are considering purchasing.I just purchased a new Yamaha keyboard from the Milford Music and Arts location. As it was a major purchased, I did some research and provided some legitimate competing prices for the exact item. They verified my data and concluded that they could come pretty close to that price (again... I provided legitimate, documented competing prices). So my point here is...try to keep your business local. If you see a diff in price that is enough of a diff to matter to you.. have a friendly conversation with the manager at that business. It may be that they can come pretty close on price. You will feel good supporting your local business whom in term supports your community with employment, building rental, sponsoring your little leagues, etc.Short of it... the staff was extremely knowledgeable on the products and features (not just the keyboard I had in mind, but showing some alternatives as well). They were able to price match to a level that the diff was trivial in the over-all scheme of things. They needed to order the keyboard I finally decided on.. and delivery was very quick (like 4 biz days).I recommend making your purchases there. Keyboard is brand new.. no issues.. so this is not a long term review. I will update the review if I have some issue with the keyboard and M+A is not there with the support after the sale.Update 10/24/19; Well... who would have thunk. The brand new Yamaha keyboard I purchased died on me. The Milford Music and Arts made the whole return / exchange process painless. If I had bought on line (Amazon for example) I would have been past the Amazon 30 day return period and on my own on this. Thankfully I bought local. Just dropped of the defective keyboard at the M+A store, they took care of rest with an exchange. Great after the sale support !

I bought a higher end Eastman acoustic guitar based on a Music and Arts sales pitch that Eastman provides a life long warranty based on the quality of their workmanship. Just under 3 years later, the finish cracked on the back of the instrument and Im a month into the process of getting it addressed with Music and Arts. Eastman claims the New England climate is known for its changes in humidity and that their instruments dry out because of this. They wont accept a return or even provide a return authorization as a result. Their guitar came with a humidification package which, I purchased. I guess if you live in New England, and are expecting Eastman to stand behind their warranty, you can expect this response if the guitars body drys out and cracks. I have had Taylors and Martins and this problem has not occurred. This sales pitch is a sham, as is the warranty....and the Music and Arts team completely steps away and leaves you on your own. Not worth spending money on Music and Arts premium Eastman line.
