Wouldn’t recommend this place. The artist i spoke to was extremely rude when i showed him what i wanted, which was a simple word. He refused to tat me. Lol. Long story short i went to Bold Traditions walked in and left with exactly what i wanted! If your looking for a great artist, go to Bold Traditions in Middletown and ask for Mike!!!

Went a couple months ago to get two simple piercings. I was getting my septum and my friend was getting her belly. They told us to have a seat on the couch because piercer was out getting food. Totally understandable! Until it was 3 hours we waited… still had a good experience tho just wouldn’t recommend. Different friend goes into today, calls beforehand to confirm the pieced is there. Tells her he’ll be there till 8. We walked in at 7:20 (he told her he’d take her until 7:30) and they informed us that he had just left… I’d rate one star but mine and my friends piercing was done nicely.

I had the best of experiences with Donald I got a tattoo on my collar bones and he did an amazing job for an amazing price I will return him to anyone I meet and I for sure will be returning thank you!

I got my septum pierced thinking that this place is good but unfortunately even though the person that did it was very kind, my piercing came out crooked and I had to go to Body Jewel to get it repierced. Please don’t get pierced here! Even the girl working at body jewel told me that they get a LOT of returning folks from blue byrd there that have crooked piercings. Thanks for causing me extra pain and money, Blue Byrd.

I went in to get my first tattoo today, and my tattoo artist did a great job and I only had to wait probably 15 minutes without having set up an appointment before hand. Eli did a great job, and the place was clean and organized, and everyone was very professional.

I got my belly button pierced here and Donald is amazing! I have a innie-outie belly button and he told me that it may stick out, he continued to say that if i dont like it he will take it out and not charge me. Great piercer and great guy. 100% recommend!

Love Blue Byrd! I’ve been there for several of my piercings. I have 10+ and I can say BY FAR that Donald is the best piercer I have ever encountered! He was very patient and kind, especially when I was having trouble with getting my jewelry in. He accommodated my boyfriend (his triple lobe is pictured) and I, gave us plenty of time to talk things over when the original piercing I wanted wouldn’t work :( I will 100% go to him for all my future piercings! He is an incredible guy with great piercing and customer service skills. I believe he also mentioned he is doing tattoos too, so I’m sure I’ll see him for that also. Love this place! Love Donald!

I was here the other day and I came here because the reviews seemed pretty good. I had 6 other tattoos before I came here and the one that I got looks bad. It could be easily fixed but it looks like they rushed through it. I hate complaining, the staff was pretty friendly and they helped me when I first walked through the door. I’d also like to mention that the tattoo is only a day old and it is still so red. I’ve never had a tattoo this red a day or two after getting it nor hurt as much the day after. I’m kinda sad I paid 100 dollars for it too. I’m pretty sure my tattoo is infected and I have other tattoos so it’s not like I don’t know anything about the aftercare of a tattoo so it makes me question some other stuff.

Took my daughter here for a piercing. They did a great job and made her comfortable in the process. A few weeks later her piercing fell out while she was sleeping. We took our own jewelry in and he put it back in for her for no charge! Excellent place and wonderful customer service! Very nice and welcoming! THANK YOU!

Ive been to Blue Byrd a number of times and always leave happy. Everyone Ive met and had do work for me has been professional and personal at the same time. Scott has now done two tattoos for me and Im in love with his work and style. Hes an amazing artist, along with everyone else Ive met in the shop. I wont ever go anywhere else to get work done.

I work nights so I schedule an appointment for the morning was there at 10 Joey never showed up had to wait until 12 when they officially opened call six times finally got an answer told me he couldnt schedule me for another month after not being there for my appointment he was very rude when I was on the phone with him and told me whatever when I told him Ill have to think about rescheduling with him very rude and very unprofessional

Went with a friend to get a memorial tattoo and got a half finished half a$$ tattoo .When she asked if he was going to finish it he said it is, she said you didnt shadow the feathers and you left out the halo as well as didnt color it. He said come back if you want that done. Everything she asked for was discussed before starting and agreed upon. We went to another shop in town and she got exactly what she wanted if not exceeded her expectations! Beware if you go here .

I was a winner of a FREE RECOVERY TATTOO & when I called to see what ALL was Intelled their response was less than friendly! I WON and the voucher has THEIR name on logo was on IT!!! BUT the woman that answered was not only very unfriendly but ALSO stated she HAD NO CLUE WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT

All the people that worked there made me feel like they were old friends that I hadnt met yet. My artist was Chris. Hes extremely talented and a perfectionist. Blue Byrd in Middletown is the only place I go to get tattoos. I have been seeing Joey for several years now and he always goes an amazing job. He will work with you to incorporate your ideas in an artistic way. He is also open to suggestions and truly listens to them. Ill never go anywhere else.

This place is very unorganized...we waited about 45 minutes for the piercer to do a “sketch” for a tattoo.I don’t live here in Ohio and needed to get my daith piercing changed.We have a very experienced and educated piercing shop back home whom I love and have gotten many piercings from.These “piercers” were not experienced whatsoever the man (never told me his name) took my jewelry out with not problem but then tried to shove an L-shape nose retainer in my daith piercing it was very very painful (I’ve had it pierced for almost 2 years it is completely healed) he had no idea what he was doing I had asked what kind of retainer he was trying to put in he said a basic retainer....A BASIC RETAINER FOR WHAT!!!....he then gave me THE SAME NOSE RETAINER FOR MY HELIX PIERCING....this place is terrible it’s not clean it’s very cluttered and the people that work here have no thought of people and are just here for the money....just terrible

My wife got her first tattoo here. We were treated quite rudely by the staff, but when their buddy walked in he got treated like royalty. The art was shoddy- she got a black semicolon on her hip- and it was nowhere near round or symmetric. Additionally, they didnt do any sanitizing as far as we could tell, and her tattoo got badly infected. It didnt help that their instructions for a first time tattoo is oh, just keep it clean. After a month of antibiotics, we got her tattoo redone at Evolved in Columbus and had a completely different and much better experience.

Very happy to join this team of artists. Clean, professional shop with a talented staff that is more than capable of any tattoo or body piercing you can throw at us. A really great place to work. Come see me and all the other folks here at Blue Byrd!

I use to go to the nail salon next door. Im not into tatoos however the place was always busy and the owner was freindly. Honestly not sure if they are open anynore as I dont live close to the areaa anymore. I have known people that has went there and they did beautiful work.

The lady named traci that pierced my labre & my nose was very knowledgeable & super sweet about the whole experience! She effortlessly made me feel completely relaxed while doing something i had never done before. Even gave me her personal cell number & said to reach out any time if i had questions or concerns. Not only that, but i knew when i originally called & asked for prices, my intentions were to only get my nose pierced, but they had the BOGO & no other shop around could compare to that! Would certainly go back when i want another piercing or tattoo!

Bad customer service. My husband and I came in for a tattoo for myself. The girl at the desk said come back in 45 minutes and we will be ready for you. Came back and someone walked in 5 minutes before us and they took them first asked us to wait 30 more minutes. We left and will never go back. Essentially we had an appointment time, but guess they didn’t want our money.

I have had over $300 worth of ink done here. They charge a fair price, run a clean store, and have several really good artists to choose from. You get to watch netflix while getting ink done, and the team is really friendly and have a great attitude. I plan on going back for more work soon.

My fiancé and I went in to discuss tattoos we picked out and possibly make an appointment. We were told they pups go ahead and take us in that day. They took our pictures that were printed from the computer and began drawing them. This took quite some time...I thought they would just trace them. After a while, they came back with the drawings....mine (heart lock) looked very good. My fiancé’s (key)did not. So we discussed further instructions. After a few more tries you could tell they were getting inpatient with us. But after all this is a lifetime decision and we hadn’t planned on getting them done at this time. We fully expected to make an appointment. They completed my tattoo with minimal interaction (tv was more important). My fiancé went with just the key and is planning on getting the details somewhere else. There was no talk of aftercare (thankfully this wasn’t our first tattoo) and I honestly don’t think they cared much about the customers...just the movies on tv and their food and drinks. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for first timers.

Just got my septum pierced by David Klaiber and it was the most professional piercing I have ever received. Most people who get their septum done complain about the initial pain of the needle and the clamp. David took his time to find the exact spot that would inflict the least amount of pain and I am not lying in any way when I say that I didnt even feel it happen until I opened my eyes and saw the needle sticking out. Phenomenal work David! Ill definitely be coming back to see if his tattoos are as great as his piercing work! Definitely recommend this shop!

The person I worked with was extremely unprofessional. He stopped every about centimeter and a half of line to watch tv (generally, he seemed to pay very little attention to me or the tattoo), glared and was rude in response to involuntary muscle movement so minimal that neither I nor the friend with me could even visually see it, and gave zero aftercare instruction- which if I didnt already have tattoos and know somewhat what to expect, would have been an even bigger issue. Altogether, it was a very uncomfortable tattooing experience. It wasnt a complex or large (though it is very visible) tattoo, but its still a lifetime decision and deserved a better quality of work from someone who considers themself a professional.

I have came here for peorcings quite a few times and I always leave without one. The peircer is either not there yet or not there for the day. One day she was running over an hour late knowing she had customers waiting and then sent us to the Dayton location to do the piercing because she didnt have supplies and didnt really know what piercing I was talking about. The Middletown location is really just a hangout for employees and thier friends.

I walked in to ask about getting a tattoo covered up. The guy in the shop was rude and didnt even get up off the couch when I entered and began talking to him. He took one glance at my old tattoo and told me there was no way they could cover it up. The guy was very unpleasant and dismissive. I guess they werent up for the effort. I went down the road to Voodoo and they ended up giving me a killer coverup a couple weeks later. They were nice to talk to and very professional as well. I recommend Voodoo over Blue Byrd any day of the week.Edit: The owner saw my message, has reached out, and apologized. I have changed the 1 star to 3 stars.
