Update: I am now 3 days out and am lowering my rating to one star. Now that Im not in too much pain to touch, I have found that a TON of unwanted hair was left behind, whole strips of untouched hair. The skin on my groin line is peeling from hip bone to sit bone. It appears their waxer needs some mentoring.I was disappointed by my experience. I went in for my first ever Brazilian wax, hoping that the price was a reflection of the quality of the service. This is the most is the most expensive Brazilian wax in town, and I did not get what I paid for. I was left with quite a bit of unwanted hair and was tender and bruised for days. I had some skin peeling the day after. The technician didnt do any skin prep and I had to ask for aftercare instructions even though she knew it was my first time. I do not feel I received a premium service and will not be going back.

I was a part of a bridal group for a mid-July wedding in Wisconsin and we all had our hair and makeup done. The group all saw different people for hair and makeup but I was lucky enough to be paired with Nikki, who was absolutely phenomenal. My hair and makeup looked amazing and remainder intact for the entire timeevent and night (and my appointment was at 9am!). Nikki absolutely understood my vision and both my hair and makeup turned out the best out of the group. The only reason I am rating ANiU a 4 is because of the other experiences of the bridal party. Two bridesmaids needed to redo their entire face of makeup because it looked terrible and the bride’s hair came out shortly after leaving the salon. I have been going to Morgan for years now for my hair, and I have never once had a bad experience with her or with the salon in general. Everyone is always nice and the salon is always clean and looks great, in my opinion. Morgan has always done exactly what I ask for with my hair, and I’m now at the point that I completely trust her and her opinion on what I should do with my color/cuts. Could not recommend her and aniu enough!!

I said I to leave it long and curly but the lady cut all my hair off and the end result looks nothing like the picture I showed her

I can not recommend this salon. While the individual who did my facial was pleasant and professional, everything else about the salon was off-putting. The facility is a sterile barn of a building dressed up with cheap decor to make it look like an unsophisticated persons idea of high-end. More disturbing was realizing that the spa was a small, single room located in the basement floor of the building, accessed by leaving the salon, walking through the building atrium, taking an elevator down to an awful area with a single locked door which opened into the facial area.There was nothing, nothing about that experience that suggested a high-end salon, although the fee was equivalent is a true high-end salon. I expected that, but as I checked out I was asked if I wanted to tip the person who waited on me. Really? By charging premium rates, salons are assumed to be paying their staff an appropriate wage.Dont go there, find another place, one with nicer ambiance and a more appropriate price structure.

I would not recommend this salon for any bridal needs. I was drawn to it because of their beautiful Instagram, but ended up leaving unsatisfied. I was okay with my hair, but by no means was it worth the $100 I spent. My hair was curled and half up with about 6 Bobby pins. The first time she put it up, I had to have her redo as it was not even on both sides (one side was tight and the other side was loose). I have very straight and smooth hair, but it looked tangled with flyaways on top. other than that it was pretty. My make up was an absolute disaster. I felt like the makeup artist helping me had no idea what she was doing. There was no confidence and she was even asking the artist nearby what to use. I left looking like I hadn’t even gotten any make up done. I didn’t want to speak up because I just wanted to leave and do it myself at that point, plus we were on a time crunch. When I went to pay I think the receptionist could tell I was visibly sad and asked if I was happy with it. I told her it was okay, but I didn’t feel like I got bridal makeup. She kindly comped the makeup, and continued to apologize. I will say the ladies at the front desk were very kind and professional.

Ive never had a bad experience coming here. Stella is amazing and really listens to what you want and color options are always spot on!

The girl I went to dyed my hair charged me 300$ for something I didn’t even want figured i could get used to it and I had to come back and get what I actually wanted charged me 215$ around there made me blonde and even tho I told her I didn’t want blonde ( what I showed her was more of a light ish brown ) and how we talked about what i wanted and coveted up everything she did on my hair the first time so why couldnt she just do what she did the second time the first time and could have saved me so much money! She made me so blonde and I had to go back and get it toned and didn’t do what i wanted again. If you can’t do what your customer asks for and you charged her 500$+ just say you can’t do it and make me waste so much money what a shame.

100% recommend!!!Went to their temporary place after the floods in 2018 for a trim and help with my bangs that I butchered. The stylist did a good job helping salvage my botched job. Just recently went in for a cut. My hair was too my mid back and most of it was dead and frizzy. My stylist Winona did a great job getting rid of the dead hair. It looked fantastic! Curly or straight, still looks great! Im going back in a couple weeks to color it for the fall....more to come!**UPDATE**Went here again for my birthday to refresh my Bayalage and got curtain bangs as well. Loved Ginas work. Turned out beautiful!

I have a lot of mixed thoughts about my visit there. The lady who did my hair was very nice, and the customer service was excellent. However, I came in for a dye job, and when I got home my hair started breaking apart in my hand, and falling out. I did get my hair lightened, and expected damage, but not to this magnitude. Its at the point where I am scared to brush it, because it keeps falling out. My hair before the visit was very well taken care of, and had no split ends, breakage, nothing. Now its a chaotic frizzy ball of tangles and breaking hair. I did call the store afterwords to get advice, but the only advice i got was the cut the damage (it goes up to almost my chin) and come in for a treatment. The funny thing is, I payed $25 dollars extra for a treatment when I went in, that was supposed to prevent this from happening. Now I cant even put my hair up in a ponytail because the damage makes the hair break. Im out of options and really sad about it because I payed a lot of money for this hair dye job ( it was my first time coming here). I took really good care of my hair for my entire life and I am extremely dissapointed that it is so damaged. I was a little sad to see the service so excellent, the workers were so friendly, but the actual dye job turned out badly.

As always, Karen transformed my wreck of a hair into a style even a Disney Princess would be emvious of. The color, luster, and cut were perfect for my face shape and coloring. I was able to have the nostalgic summer blond I love even in these winter months without it looking too forced or washing me out. Thank you so much, Karen!

Grew my hair out on a whim. Never thought I would be told by a stylist that because I grew my hair out she wasnt comfortable/qualified to cut my hair. Its a two because I appreciate that she was honest with me. If she doesnt feel qualified to return me to the short hair cut Ive had for the last 10+ years, please put the scissors down, and walk away from the head. Still just kinda reeling from the experience....

Pricy for sure, I have longer hair (past shoulder blades) and paid $50 for a trim (2), A layer, and bangs. The staff are always friendly, however, and provide excellent care. The only issue I have ever had is that I have a hard time with them getting my bangs cut right.

My bridal party and I had our makeup and hair done and we all were so impressed at the efficiency and skill level at ANiU. I absolutely loved my hair and make up! They took such good care of me and my bridal party. Would definitely recommend!

Went to see Amy for a formal style for a charity event and she did great! Listened to what I had wanted to do. Since then I have come in for a cut and color and the cut is perfect and the color is very flattering and right touch of lightening up. This is a large and very nice spa. They offer beverages when you arrive and receptionist staff was nice. Best part - Kate, who was recommended by a coworker, gave me one of my top two all time favorite haircuts...and Im very rarely happy with my haircuts. So, I will definitely be going back!

I started seeing Amber about two years ago, and she does a fantastic job! She helped me find a style that I really like, and visit regularly once a month. Also, despite her moving up to a level 3 over the years, they only charge me what I originally paid when she was a level 1. From my experience they are very loyal to their customers, have an experienced team, and a classy environment. I highly recommend it!

Love Quinn, she is a great stylist and easy to talk to! I have always had a wonderful experience. She even helped me donate my hair to Wigs for Kids (they are very particular with how they receive the hair). The receptionists are always extremely friendly and accommodating as well.

Went here for the pedicure. The service was nice, my feet were taken care of very well. However, the room itself was dirty! the sits were also dirty and old, the massage function of the chair also did not work. For the price they charge I would expect better atmosphere, cleaner, updated, working. I wont come back there.

Nothing spa like about the massage, no music, no pampering. Massage itself was fine but the room is in the back, and you listen to the noise of the salon space. so many other places to get a massage in Madison that give you a SPA experience.

Got a beard trim from Zach...Really excellent! I wish these guys would put in a barber area for men...Hot towel shaves and the like! There just isnt anything good for men in the area and these guys do a fine job!

Take cautionAs I was leaving the salon today after a haircut, right outside the door I couldnt help but noticed there was a female sitting with a male and she was crying and upset. I initially walked by because the building also has other businesses. When I went to open the bathroom door I heard the woman say Stop!, Dont point at me. Dont yell at me. So I turned back around and there was now another man closely standing in front of her. At this point, of course, I asked if everything was ok. The man standing in front of her then walked away into the Salon and the other man answered by saying oh my god are you kidding me. When I responded by saying I wasnt kidding because there is clearly a disturbance and I need to make sure everyone was ok and no one needed help. The upset woman than aggressively told me I needed to stay out of it because it was her BOSS. While she is talking to me the man sat there now focusing his frustrations at me telling me saying things like omg youre joking and omg are you serious. At that point I removed myself from the hostile situation and went into one of the entry way doors of the building while they continued the same behavior. I had picked up my phone and waited a minute to make sure everyone was ok as the body movements became more aggressive. I would have just left and not thought much of the interaction but after they finally walked away, they both got up and went into the ANiU salon!. They are employees there!. I am in complete disbelief that not only would they have a full blown argument in the middle of the entry way where everyone has to enter AniU, as well as, the other businesses inside, but that they would talk to someone that way, period. Especially someone who is only there because they are utilizing their business!! I had scheduled another appointment on my way out today that I will now be canceling because how unbelievably uncomfortable? I really liked my stylist and she did a great job but there is no way I can justify that type of work environment or client relationship. Come spend hundreds of dollars here so we can cause a disturbance and belittle you for trying to help. No thank you. Someone really needs to look into management and that work environment if that is what is tolerated. Im so sorry that the employees there have to go through that.Update: I just called to cancel my appointment and when I was asked why I explain the situation above and the lady on the phone apologize profusely and asked if I would speak to the owner. When I told her that the owner was probably out there she said that he was not, so I agreed to speak with the owner. She put me on a brief hold and when the owner got on the phone he started by saying I dont understand what the problem is and continued to yell at me over the phone until I finally just hung up on him after multiple attempts of trying to explain why they would make anyone uncomfortable and he just would not listen or let me talk. Holy smokes guys!! beware!!! I have never seen somebody act so ridiculous before simply because someone was trying to do the right thing and make sure someone was ok.Imagine walking into a hotel, or a restaurant, to the owner and 2 employees in an emotional dispute causing a disturbance right in the common area, then basically being told to pound sand when inquiring if everything was ok? It would make for an uncomfortable stay. Who knows what was really going on, but, at the least, it should have been handled behind closed doors. If you’re going to present yourself in that manner, in a common area for multiple businesses, you need to accept that you are going to cause a scene and expect others to react accordingly. Be better.

Went in with my LONG THICK hair for a full highlight and TRIM ONLY haircut with Meghan.Spending almost $200.00 I left with only 40% of highlights. The hair that was highlighted was burnt off leaving strands of uneven 3 inch pieces of scraggly thin hair. My once long even ponytail looks like a hack job.They didn’t even offer me a refund for this train wreck that will take months to regrow.Enter at your own risk.The high reviews are for the building, not the staff.

Saw a level two stylist for a woman’s haircut. She cut off about two more inches than I wanted and also pulled really hard on my hair when blow drying. The salon was beautiful so if I go again I’d probably book a higher level with more experience.

I always love the haircut and/or color that Kate does for me! If something isn’t quite what we were going for she will tweak it until it’s just right. You want your stylist to be a perfectionist & Kate is just that! The salon is updated and clean & staff are always very friendly.

I am extremely picky about my hair. Somehow, Jemree, manages to listen to all of my concerns and requirements and makes me look better than I expected. She is a saint.The salon is very nice. They offer you a beverage while you wait. All the salon services I have received were top-notch.

Ive tried this place twice in the last 10 years...Im not sure why I gave them a second try at all. While the second visit recently was pleasant in terms of the stylists personality...she did not give me what I was looking for at all with my highlights. I wanted more blond and came out dark brown. Not at all what I wanted. Disappointed again...

Had a bad experience with my hair cut! I even brought the photo and explained in details how short I wanted my hair but the girl still had a mind of her own.She cut it way too short even though I kept saying not too short, not too short But you cant see what she does in the back until itt too late.Anyway, trying to think positive that my hair will grow back, its not a permanent damage, but still...To make things worse - that was a gift to myself for my Birthday :( For whatever reason its posted under my husbands name, but you can tell - its a woman review.

I had an excellent experience at this salon Tuesday night. I had a fill done at another salon in town, and my acrylics were uneven in places and four of them had broken. Barb worked with my broken, uneven acrylics very patiently for well over two hours and made them presentable again. I would highly recommend her to anyone in my situation. The prices at the salon are more expensive than other nail places in the area, but they have well trained people and use high quality product. Personally, I would rather have quality work that lasts a long time rather than a cheap fill with an unlabled acrylic powder. Thank you Barb!

First time customer and I was very impressed. First of all, I really enjoyed that they had each of their artists listed with a description of what their skillsets were on their website; this was beneficial in deciding who I wanted to book with. I just wanted a simple LOB (long bob), but apparently have not been able to get this perfected anywhere in the Madison area the past couple of years that Ive been here, until now. When I arrived, I was promptly checked in and they took my jacket to hang up. Afterwards, Mallory (the artist that I chose), came out to greet me and bring me back for my haircut. I was still indecisive and debating between a normal LOB or an a-line LOB, she was very information and helped me make the right decision. She also suggested texturizing my hair versus actual layers, because I have fine hair and Im so glad I listened because it worked out great! Mallory provided an excellent haircut and was very professional. It truly was a great experience and Ill definitely be going to Mallory and ANiU!

Went to ANiU for both nails and hair for a recent wedding I was in. The night before our nail appointment I cut my finger/nail pretty badly and didnt know what I was going to do. I brought along a fake nail hoping they could cover up my badly chopped nail, but was nervous about what they might say. The staff was wonderful and was very open to my idea of painting the fake nail. They even agreed to paint an extra fake nail in case the first one fell off or got lost. Wonderful Experience!

Had mani/pedi, hair & makeup done as part of a wedding party and I was very pleased with everything. Its quite a large space, so conversing with others in the party was not as easy at times, but it made for a very organized & relatively fast set of appointments! I would definitely go back for any of these services.

I had an excellent experience at ANiU! I got a haircut from Jordyn, and she made sure I had exactly what I wanted. I wanted a pretty drastic cut (7-8 inches off), and Jordyn did a wonderful job! She told me to call if I had any problems with my hair after styling it myself - an offer that I took her up on. I went back for a recut to get my layers adjusted, and Jordyn had my hair looking perfect in no time. Skilled professionals, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and an overall wonderful experience! Not the ANiU I remember. I was given a gift for spa treatments at ANiU. Ive been here before on two other occasions. When they first opened and had an amazing pool and steam room, and then the recession hit and they had to close that part of the business. Then the next time, it was a similarly good experience minus the pool. This time however, many, many years later, Im not sure how they continue to call it a spa. There was nothing spa like about it. They served water in plastic bottles, how about something infused with cucumber, lemon or mint? The room was vacuous and not intimate where I received the massage. I had to get undresed right next to the table (no more locker room and nice terry robe). And no music! All I could hear were the murmers of the women outside the door having pedicured. The therapist, Rachel did a great job, its really the management that has abandoned making their client feel special. After the massage, I had to put all my street clothes back on for my pedicure. It really blew the idea of a relaxing afternoon having to go back out to the open salon where you were in the same space as everyone else getting hair cuts, etc. The nail tech, Mattie was very good and nice, so again, no complaints about the service, just that there is nothing about this place that is even spa like anymore. For $20-35 extra dollars per service over what I pay for these elsewhere in Madison, there was nothing remotely special about it at all. The tip off that theyve lost their way should have been their website. The online scheduling didnt even work on most browsers. There was nothing so remarkable about this place that would compel me to come back.

Great service and amazing stylists!

The salon itself is beautiful and very clean, and the staff is tentative and friendly, but I was not overall pleased with the services I received here. I went in for a full set of gel nails - which cost $75 from a Level 1 technician. The girl was very friendly and explained what we were doing along the way, and I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, when I left the salon, the nails were thick and pointed upward - a detail I did not notice until I got in the car, due to the angle I was sitting at in the chair. Two days later, I had to remove the polish, reshape and thin out the nails myself, because they were so thick and gaudy looking. About a week and a half later, 6 out of the 10 fingernails had fallen off, chipped away, or started detaching from the area near my cuticle - which I was told wouldnt happen with gel nails. She told me gel nails essentially are like an addition to your own nail, and the only way to get them off is to file them down gradually until they grow out.... I would have expected this sort of thing happening if I had gone to a cheaper salon to get them done, but paying $75 for a set of nails I had to reshape myself, only to have them fall off a week later, is a bit upsetting. In the future, I will stick to the basic manicure at this salon, and never receive a full set from them again.

I have a lot of hair and I have never been able to find someone who can cut layers into thick hair as well as Winona. I have tried many different places in Madison and ended up with uneven layers, missed hair, a thin bottom layer and thick upper layers, and choppy, unblended layers. I actually started seeing her when i needed a layer fix from a different salon. Winona is stuck with me forever because Ive walked out happy every time and always look forward to my next appointment! She is also wonderful when it comes to balayage and toning, I have beautiful ashy blondes in my dark, dark brown hair that look natural and arent streaky(which I didnt think was possible)!
