If your are ever in Miami, I suggest you stay at one of their properties. The staff is always so pleasant. The rooms are beautiful and clean. And the location!!!!!! Great locations and VIEWS!!! If I could give this company 10 stars I would.

Abrasive, unprofessional and unaccountable management team. Threatened to cancel my reservation without cause.Did not properly disclose that the pool was under construction and not available for use until one week prior to my scheduled check-in date. After reading negative reviews online, I called in prior to my check-in to confirm that the pool would be available for use. At the time, the company’s website prominently featured pictures of the pool and clearly stated that amenities included a rooftop pool and did not mention anywhere that there was a $25/per guest/per day fee (website has since been amended after I complained about this issue).On the phone, I explained that I had made the reservation back in August 2017 (scheduled check-in date was March 2018) and that at no point in the past 8 months had management informed me that the outdoor pool was not available for use. Management offered to allow me to cancel my reservation – however, given that the reservation (for the following week) was for the same weekend as both the Miami Open tennis tournament as well as the Ultra Music Festival, booking another hotel at that time would have cost $500-$1,000+ more.I tried to explain to the management team that booking another hotel that late would be cost prohibitive and that no one had reached out to inform me of the outdoor pool closure in the 8 months since I made the reservation. I respectfully requested either a waiver of the $25 fee to use the other pool or some form of consideration on my reservation. The representative became curt and asked if I wanted to cancel the reservation. I told her no as I had nowhere else to stay, and she abruptly hung up.Approximately 30 minutes later, I received a call from the manager to inform me that, as their rooms are not hotels but rather private rentals, they are under no obligation to honor my reservation. She asked me repeatedly how many guests would be staying in the room and, after I told her it would just be one other guest and myself, threatened to cancel the reservation if there was any “partying” in the room. Overall her attitude was confrontational and extremely unprofessional.After I got off the phone with her, I received an email requiring a $500 security deposit, which was inconsistent with the terms that I had agreed to when I made the reservation, which only stipulated a $250 deposit.As a result of management’s extremely hostile and confrontational attitude and their unwillingness to be accommodating in light of the previously undisclosed pool closure, I didn’t want to give Sunnyside my business and instead looked into alternative lodging arrangements. Ultimately we ended up paying a significant premium ($600+) to stay elsewhere at a property that was of a lower quality and located approximately 20+ minutes further away, rather than give Sunnyside our business.Overall my impression of the management team is that they are dishonest and unaccountable. Would recommend to avoid unless as an absolute last resort.
Con Artist!!! Charged me in additional $243! That I was told was a hold! And when I called to ask why, I was met by the rudest person to ever be allowed to answer a phone, Ms( I use that loosely) Munes? Who is apparently the“ minion” for Ms. Valdes’s dirty work! Thieves and unprofessional!! Don’t stay here, avoid at ALL cost! Please don’t be like me and ignore the reviews!
Amazing atmosphere within walking distance to 5 star restaurants and night clubs. Next to all the shops in Downtown Miami enjoying great views of the bay and Miami River. Luxurious accommodations in beautifully decorated units and great amenities. Highly recommend!!!!
DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!!!!If I could review this lower than one star I would. I recently stayed here for work and unfortunately it was one of the most horrible rental experiences I have ever gone through. We booked for 3 nights of our first week of the trip and 3 additional nights the week after. First of all let me start by saying that we booked through hotel booking, with a price that was around 100 a night. Upon booking they charged us an additional fee that we were completely made unaware of until after of 250 dollars. I felt scammed from the start but tried to keep a positive outlook. After booking we received confirmation that our check in was at 2. We arrived at 2 after traveling 8+ hours, extremely exhausted and were told that check in was at 4 and that there was nothing we could do despite their email clearly stating check in was at 2. Check in was miserable they do not have parking and charge 30 dollars a night for valet and additional charges every time you move your car. The valet workers were very rude and made us unload and carry all of our bags alone without offering any assistance what so over. Once check in was almost complete they told us we had to pay an additional 250 dollar deposit that was also not listed anywhere. We paid the deposit in cash and stayed for 3 nights Upon our return the following week we experienced the same issues with valet and check in, however this time there was a different gentleman checking us in. We were prepared to pay for the 250 dollar deposit once again but this time the man said “ oh if you are paying cash it’s actually 300”. We mentioned that we stayed the week prior and paid 250.... Not a good look, so I spoke with the manager who stated that the deposit was “200” which after I approached him about the price said oh actually it is 300. It seemed as though they were trying to scam us at every opportunity and were extremely rude when we asked for clarification on pricing. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE. This rental company is scamming people and have the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced.
I stayed at their icon property for my birthday and it was the best experience! Their customer service went above and beyond to make my birthday special and accommodate us! Definitely staying with them again!

My family and I rented Sunnyside Retreats through VRBO. They tripled the price, stated they allowed dogs (which they did NOT), and had us stay in a moldy room which my child has respiratory issues. They did nothing to be more accommodating. They are crooks and make people sick. Do not rent through this company.
!WARNING: DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!My reservations were booked on 10/25/17 for my wedding night directly thru their CS phone because they advertised on their site that they price match and also offer an extra % off. I gave them my CC for the deposit and I received email confirmation which included basic details, policies. That same month I toured the building w/ property manager Francisco & he showed the room type I booked. I got an email on 4/18/18 saying my reservation was cancelled & If there has been a mistake please call or email us. I called & sales rep said The units that I was going to get are no longer available & that I could get a refund. I asked to speak to a supervisor, & Sabrina Valdes said back in JAN they changed owners & the units for me were no longer available. I ask why the room types can still be booked on their website? She said that if I want those same rooms, I would have to rebook again. I ask why cant they just re-accommodate me as rebooking now the price is three times more what I paid. She said would have to rebook myself or get a refund for my deposit. I try to explain cancelling my reservation due to switching owners is not for the guest to resolve on their own, & they should be honoring my booked reservation. I told her nowhere on your site or in the email I received did it say that they can cancel due to this. Other vacation rental home companies would do their best to assist their guests with re-accommodations. I asked to speak to a manager but was given email of CEO, Alejandra Gomez. I wrote a very detailed email, yet she responds back with a brief, unsympathetic response Our sales team should have contacted you before cancelling, as this is our policy, and explained to you that we cannot confirm your Standard Refundable reservation. At this time, we cannot reinstate your reservation as we no will no longer be managing those rooms after August. This is a lie, as of writing this (6/19/18) they are still selling these room types.I tried one last time & called Francisco & spoke to him about it. He said hed look into it & see what he can do & get back to me. A week went by & nothing from him, so I text him to see if he had a resolution, but no response. Another week went by & I sent him another text, & he finally says, Hello it was cancel that booking was done with Lyza when she was here. She no longer works in the company and the amount she gave is not the right amount for the booking for those units that is what I was able to find out. What?! This was not the first time someone from your company mentioned that Lyza who made the reservation for me was no longer working here. The company is putting the blame on pricing issues on a former employee. I responded to his text stating that the price of your rooms were what they were back in October for my September dates (I have the screenshots to prove). Regardless of the price & who booked it, your company should be held responsible in providing me with another comparable unit. Francisco did not reply to my response. A week after that, I went through their Accounting department to get my deposit back. This whole experience has been a nightmare!Sunnyside Retreats has scammed me! They are still selling these same room types on their website as of this letter (June 9, 2018). They have no written policy that reservations (even with deposit paid (mines was held for half a year)) can be cancelled if they change owners/units and guests must look alternate accommodations as the company will not assist on their website or in the email confirmation guests receive when they book. The guests are left to look for their own re-accommodations, this company could care less about guests! I would not wish this experience on anyone! I booked my reservations in advance for my wedding night, to be stress free, but this company is trying to get more money out of another guest by cancelling my reservations, yet still offering the same room types for three times the price I paid! What they are doing is a bait-and-switch.
I booked with Sonesta By Sunnyside Retreats for my wedding in coconut grove, I really wasnt too sure about using a vacation rental company or to book a hotel but I realized this company offers both! All of their vacation rental properties are in hotels and offer hotel services. We got the same service and paid less! There were no hidden fees or paying after your stay. They always give discounts and since Im part of their Friends & Family program now I get discounts monthly. We did have an issue checking in but as soon as we called Lyza the customer service representative she sent someone over to fix it! It took 10 mins and we were able to settle in our apartment suite! Overall I had a great experience with Sunnyside Retreats and cant wait to book with them again for my next stay in Miami! Dont bother booking anywhere else these guys are the best!!
