This family-owned newspaper has served the Black Community for decades, providing important news that many local Blacks care about most and for a great price. It has a faith calendar, ads, political and community news and of course, the obituaries. If you have not seen someone in a while, you know that they are alright if they have not showed up in the Times’ Obits. The lovely and affable receptionist, Karen welcomes visitors to the office. She can’t talk long, the phone is always popping with folks wishing to place ads. Business is good!!! This newspaper is a staple in the community and its office in the center of the enclave of Brownsville. There’s plenty of parking, with a pharmacy, auto tag agency, Papa John, Checkers and Bank of America sharing the shopping plaza. Being that latest studies show that U.S. Blacks spend over 1.2 trillion dollars annually on merchandise and self-care, it pays to target this group through advertising in a newspaper who readers are mostly of this ethnic group. Keep it up Miami Times, it’s great that you serve as one of the voices in OUR community worth listening too.
