Great family, friendly place. MJ is a wonderful teacher who pushes his students to be their best by being an example and by his words of wisdom/experience. He trains kids and adults to be leaders and teaches lessons way beyond just taekwondo.

South Miami Martial Arts is a great place to learn Taekwondo, my sons really enjoy their classes. Master Jeff is an excellent instructor and the kind of person you want influencing your kids. If you’re looking for a martial arts dojo this is a great place.

I cannot rate our experience at South Miami Martial Arts highly enough, both for the quality of teaching and sense of caring community extended to the students and their families. In eight years of being part of this community, I have regularly witnessed Grand Master Jeff, and the instructors he has trained, teaching and demonstrating elements of martial arts with diligence and discipline, combined with patience and care for each student, encouraging and/or challenging when appropriate. The teachers coach the students in technique, and also mentor them in applying the skills and principles behind the forms; as they practice in class, they work to develop strength of character as well as physical strength into skills useful for real life situations, following the motto: Master your life.

I cant say enough great things about SMMA and master Jeff. We did a little dragons program for my son and he loved it so much. Master Jeff was patient and structured the class so kids of many different levels could learn together. My favorite part was the way he spoke with the students, using every opportunity for a life lesson, opening and closing with prayer and modeling a great attitude for the students. Cant wait to be back!

The staff at SMMA is unique where they interact and treat every kid with understanding and patience bringing out the very best in each and every student. Great care and understanding has been provided to my sons and family through their time from the early start all the way to their black belt achievements. This is the best place to learn Taekwondo, Master Jeff is very professional, great sense of humor, my son loves to participate in these classes for more than 4 years. All the Masters are excellent, the discipline and activities are wonderful. I really recommend this DOJO!!!

This place is in the middle of nowhere (aka cheap rent) looks like a warehouse and Master Jeff has a catchy voice-mail but is never there. I took my 4 year old for a free intro class.. You know who teaches the classes for toddlers? A 12 year old! That violates the D.C.F. and D.O.H. laws! Its dingy, disgusting and foul smelling. Cmon man! take pride in your company and environment, and dont just teach discipline show it! Ewwww!

Cant even tell how wonderful this place is. Its a little gem. Master Jeff, Master John and all the teachers are truly incredible. They dont only teach martial arts (TKD in my daughters case), but most importantly, they teach discipline, self-esteem and good values. Really great team. Never been here before. But based on their emails I can tell they stay on top of their game. Called one time to ask for advice. Lady on the phone was super nice, gave me a bunch of advice about my business. Even though we’re on opposites ends the country. If a team is willing to do that that means they care.

Master Jeff Wade is a wonderful teacher who has overseen a transformation in my my daughter between her 8th and 13th years on earth.She started out as a meek white belt who was terrified of being hit. She is now a proud Black Belt who is testing for her 2nd degree in February. Master Your Life is not just hot air at SMMA / SMTKD.In addition to rising steadily up the ranks, Jade is on the honor roll at her middle school. She volunteers weekly at a program that serves underprivileged children at the Overtown YWCA.Thanks largely in party to the guidance of Master Jeff Wade, my daughter will be prepared for all facets of life when she graduates high school and heads off for college and if she has her way, medical school.She will also be able to smash cement bricks with her hands and feet.

My son began “little dragons class” last August... I had the idea that TKD would be a great activity for my boy. My oldest girls, ages 5 and 7 at the time, begged to participate, and with some hesitation, I allowed them to try it for a month! 9 months later WE ARE Hooked!!! My oldest girl is now a blue belt and my 6 year old is now a green belt (even though she was in little dragons for 3 months). This place is a hidden gem. It’s a great family oriented place. I love to see that many parents also take lessons with their children, many of whom have higher ranking belts than the parents. The waiting area provides ample space with chairs and tables and internet access for parents like me who enjoy the time to get some work or reading done. The Instructors are Amazing!!! They are very professional and respectful of the children, always encouraging the kids to excel! My oldest child is learning to focus and keep attending to the task at hand, while developing her leadership qualities, while my younger girl is becoming more confident and assertive. My son Is still in the little kids class but loving the excitement that TKD offers! During the entire time that we’ve been locked up at Home because of COVID19, South Miami Martial Arts has saved our family through Live-streams and Zoom classes... 6 days a week!!! It doesn’t get any better!!! Thank you Master Jeff and thank you to the Wade kids for bringing so much joy to our families through your business!

I highly recommend South Miami TKD. As a member for more than 5 years I can tell you that this is my second home. In addition to the amazing Masters like John, and friendship with fellow students, I consider Grand Master Jeff my mentor. As much as my belts mean to me, the respect I have for the Dojo and Grand Master Jeff far surpasses my accomplishments.

This a is wonderful family owned business. The atmosphere is welcoming and super friendly. My five year old is super happy to attend Little Dragons classes, following instructions and all. One of the unique things about this school is that Master Jeff encourages his teenage students to teach the little dragons which actually builds another layer of confidence in the youth and for the children a connection with their peers.

The dojo has the feel of home; kids are appreciated and taught according to their needs. Focus is always in teaching them self defense using intelligence and common sense, while getting them ready to attack if needed. The approach to teaching is with the outmost respect for the kid, no yelling, no humiliating; but somehow always challenging and demanding while providing lots of fun.

Hands down, the best Dojo I trained in years!!All the instructors are warm and friendly, while making sure you are aware that this is a martial art and not ballet dancing. I’ve never left a class without learning something new.Age range from kiddo to teen with a few daring adults/parents: my daughter started TKD a few years ago and I decided to follow. Dojo is well equipped: kick/punch bags, one BOB, and all the pads and gears one needs to train. Top score for Master Jeff’s teaching. MJ manages to make everybody comfortable (from young to adult) into training and conditioning mind and body to become “better” physically AND mentally. I’ve seen him transform “a herd of cats” into well-disciplined human being in no time.

Awesome place!!!! My son has been going here about 5 years and he has always loved it. The other kids are always friendly with the older looking out for the younger. I have NEVER seen any kids being mean to each other or misbehaving. I know that Master Jeff treats my son as his own and always goes above and beyond teaching him to protect himself, self discipline along with all the martial arts skills all while having a lot of fun! He opens and closes with a prayer which sets a great example for my son and others.There is very little turnover for employees so my son knows everyone well and we feel at home here. My son plans to stay at this dojo forever. lol. Oh, the cost is very fair and affordable.

My kids have been members of this dojo for 6 years. The instructors are exceptional and very accomplished in martial arts but my favorite thing about the dojo is the true feeling of family that exists from the top down. It is a wholesome environment where every child feels valued for their skills but also for who they are as individuals. As a parent, I can’t ask for more than that!

This place is the closest thing I have to family in Miami. I absolutely love this school. Really passionate teachers, best place ever to learn TKD in Miami!

My daughter who is 7 started training with one of the instructors (Sensei Ricky) 3 months ago and has made huge progress in her forms and interest towards martial arts. She enjoys practice everyday and has already been promoted to yellow belt. When she broke the board as one of the requirements in the test, she was so surprised she did it! I think it gave her great confidence that if she worked hard at something she could achieve her goal. Master Jeff is really funny, firm, and friendly! He teaches life lessons along with techniques, and to us, the lessons are just as important as techniques, if not more. His students are also courteous and make us feel welcome. Even though we are new to the dojo, we would like to keep our daughter there for a long time until she learns how to defend and discipline herself physically and mentally. Absolutely recommend this place!

As a martial artist myself and Christian I appreciate Master Jeffs way of teaching the art of Tae Kwon Do, but also teaching the students the importance of life skills and respect, such as knowing names, respecting others, being prepared and on time and the consequences that may occur when not. Teaching his students the importance of being accountable not only to others but oneself. If you havent checked out South Miami Martial Arts I recommend that you do, I promise you will not be disappointed.

I have been training in aikido and other internal martial arts for over 23 years, and am continually impressed by the quality and availability of instruction at this dojo! There is an incredibly open and nurturing family vibe from everyone, instructors, staff, and other members and their families. If you or someone you know is looking for martial art training, an exciting way to meet fitness needs, stress management, empowerment, or just to have fun, this school will not disappoint!

I love this place, not only because of the amazing classes, but because you feel like home there. People are always willing to help and there are many activities for kids, like parent night out, summer and winter camps, seminars, etc.

I would rate this 5 stars. I seriously don’t see anything wrong with this program. All of the teachers are great, each with his/her different style. They let everyone participate, unless they could be a threat or bad influence to the rest of the smtkd community. The atmosphere of the dojo is amazing, there are no sanitary problems, and there are even snacks and drinks for when people are tired or hungry. There is a program for younger kids who want to learn taekwondo, which, like I said, opens the doors for everyone. Overall, this dojo is great and perfect for anyone who wants to learn taekwondo or aikido.

My son started the Aikido class. He LOVES it! The whole crew is knowledgeable and really work with him to learn the moves correctly. Sensei Justin and Sensei Jeff are Fantastic! And every so often there will be guest instructors participating in the class! A Real Treat to watch my son meeting a challenge!

There arent enough ways to describe how phenomenal this dojo is. The owner, Master Jeff, is not only is an incredible Martial Arts Teacher, but he has a real, sincere, passion for teaching good character and self-discipline and leadership. Master Jeff is an encourager at all times and he constantly edifies and builds up his students and never brings them down emotionally. My son and daughter absolutely love going to their taekwondo classes and they will accomplish practically anything to make sure they get to go to class. The other non-owner teachers are also wonderful and each teacher has different things to offer so no matter who is teaching the day we go, I know my kids will be fine. I love the fact that the membership includes unlimited classes so we can go as little or as much as we have time for during the week. My son has been there for several months now and he has learned life lessons and character lessons that my husband and I have taught him all his 10 years of life but now he has learned because Master Jeff or one of the other teachers taught the same thing in his taekwondo class. My seven year old daughter is a total girlie-girl but by attending Parent Night Out events and holiday classes (where siblings can join the class) she had so much fun that she begged to join so now my ballet dancing girly-girl loves taekwondo too. If you are looking for a family atmosphere with an owner who isnt there to have the biggest fanciest dojo, but rather who truly loves each kid and sees them all with an amazing potential, then this is the place you should try.
