The best rate and service. I always go to this place and find the best rate. This is a treasure in Downtown area, and in Miami. You don’t find a better rate than Abbot Exchange. If you want to save money go to this place. The owner is always polite with me. Do not hesitate he is the best in Miami to exchange your currency without doubt.

The location was recommended to me by a co-worker who said it was the best exchange rate and sure enough, it was! Gentleman working there was welcoming and helpful.

The exchange rate was only 2 cents above official for the €. I was in and out quickly. The cashier was efficient and the man I spoke with on the phone was helpful. The office is in the middle of downtown Miami, but I wouldnt go there after dark. Only complaint is the only bills in stock were €50 notes, nothing smaller. Needed some initial money before heading overseas

I exchanged Dollars for Argenitian pesos at 3.93 while all the other exchange locations were offering me 3.2 for my exchange. The exchange rates are above competitive. Having now read the previous reviews i am amazed more people dont know about this treasure.

Very poor customer service, in simple words VERY RUDE. The exchange rate was not that bad taking in consideration the current market rate but the owner of the place, Peter, and one of the cashiers, who seems to be his wife, were extremely rude. I work close to their location and I could say that I send them daily about 4 to 5 tourists that stop by my work asking for a place where they can exchange currency in that area but definetly I wont recommend them anymore for such a bad service!!

They do not answer the phone. Only answer one time and place me in hold for 15 min and hang up. It seems like they dont need the business.

I have just shopped around today for currency as we ran out of dollars (other half overspending again!) We have been staying in an apartment in Brickell so looked at all the money exchanges nearby and this one had some good reviews.I still called 4 or 5 though to see who would give the best exchange from Euros to dollars and Abbott Foreign Money Exchange gave me a pretty much unbelievable rate over the phone. I actually deal in currency a lot back in Europe where I live so know a thing or two about changing cash and I very doubt I would have done better back there!As previously mentioned its not a fantastic area but it is very safe during office hours and was just a 5 minute walk for us downtown.I really cannot see how any other exchange would beat what I was given today - I changed 500€ and they gave me a rate 7c better than another exchange I called - 7c! Thats a huge difference! Plus no fees or any other charges - just a straight exchange rate - definitely worth visiting if you have money to change in Miami.

This place offers the most competitive rate in all of Miami (at least for Euros). I dont know about Rockclimber70 but the place in the Aventura Mall is a lot more expensive. I needed to buy Euros, this place sold them to me at 1.37 per dollar, the Aventura mall place was selling at 1.42 plus a $5 commission. How do you think they can afford the expensive rent at the Aventura mall? Abbots charges no fees or commissions. Its not the safest part of town, but during the day its fine.
