They didnt have the car that we picked (ahead of time) when we got there but we ended up with something better. So they gave us a different car but after reviewing it I didnt like it so I picked another one that was a lot better (not to mention cute lol) and they were fine with it. The check-in process was a little slow but smooth with only one person ahead of us. Everything went as planned for the most part and we were very happy with what we ended up with. The people there were nice and the price was very reasonable for 2 days. I feel as though theyre better than the bigger name companies (price wise) and I definitely would recommend this place to anyone. πŸ‘ So dont think because its not a big name brand company that you wont get good service or a great price, because sometimes its even better. Overall we had a great experience. Thanks Guys!

I was happy with our rental, the staff was great, no huge lines, we got the car we reserved (BOOK AND PREPAY IN ADVANCE). They are super serious about limiting their liability and it can be a little off putting but at least theyre up front and honest about their expectations. Florida tolls were super easy to pay for (make sure you check out when you return the car.)

These guys saved me. After having reserved a car that turned out to be a scam, I needed a split second rental in Miami. I just walked up to the Family desk in the airport and they helped me out - didnt gouge me! The service was top rate and the car was perfect. Review was for one day rental on March 17, 2021.We were a bit worried about renting from a non, name brand company but we didnt have a choice since everyone else was sold out.Im glad it worked out that way as the process was painless and quick. We reserved online two days before for a 7am pickup. We thought we made a mistake as the sign at the counter said they didnt open until 8am until further notice. Just about the time we were getting anxious, a friendly fellow shows up at about 7:05, not a big deal. In about less than ten minutes we had our keys and were walking to car. After another 5 minutes we were on our way. Completely painless.Drop off took all of 5 minutes and the guy was super friendlyThe only ding was we reserved a Buick Verano and got a Chevy Malibu. Car was clean and we didnt even mention it.Great experience.

I called and reserved a 15 passenger van at least 2 months before our trip and called back to confirm after I received email. They called me 3 days to confirm and said they haven’t heard back from me and I told them that I had called to confirm after I received email. When we got to the airport to get a rental they stated that they did not have a van for us and that they spoke to one of the other places across the hall from them and they were going to honor the price and rent a van to us and that they were expecting us. When we went to the other place they had no clue of what I was talking about and said that they did not order any prices from the other person and that it would cost me 300 more dollars to rent a van. Seeing how we had no van and needed to get to where we were going we had no choice but to rent out another van. I’m very disappointed in the family auto right now because they pretty much flat out lied to me about speaking to the other people and saying that they were expecting us and other people had no clue. I will never ever ever rent from family auto they suck.

DO NOT GET ROBBED FROM THIS PLACE! I went to them during a very busy spring break because they had no lines and now I know why! After returning the car I was wondering why my 500 deposit wasnt returned and i come to find out they charged me an extra DAY! They do not respect their customers and are doing bad business.UPDATE: Ricardo, thank you for your response. My math is not bad at all, your business does not listen to voicemail messages, I called ahead of time and never received a call back. Also, my agreed upon rate was $205 per day!! I loved my experience. I still think of them as my go to car rental place, even though my trip was 2 years ago. I will be flying to Orlando in 4 days (5/15/2021) I wish I could rent a car from them while I am there. They saved me big time, twice!!

Found this place from the awesome reviews on google compared to the hundreds of terrible reviews at other car rental companies and also from really bad personal experiences.I reserved a specific time/date with the company and per their email TO CONFIRM YOUR PENDING RESERVATION, please contact us through email or by phone. We have the right to cancel this pending reservation if you do not contact us to confirm it. I know some people were having issues with showing up and vehicle wasnt ready so make sure to email/call ahead.That being said, they sent an email to confirm my reservation with the wrong date but after I emailed them they quickly fixed it. Seem like a very accommodating company. Will update in May once I return from vacation!

Hector saved our trip with FamilyAuto Rental! This was the first and worst experience at Miami Airport that me and my family have ever had! Priceless Car Rentals closed right when we arrived at closing time but we did call ahead and they said Come on!. They wouldnt answer after that and we were stranded for atleast a night, ATLEAST!!! They need to be called Careless Car Rentals!!! We were traveling for an entire day and exhausted-family of 5!! Hector saw us tired and frustrated. I approached the desk and they were fixing to close and he said Im gonna take care of yall, so dont worry! Quick transaction, easy process and the nicest car we have EVER rented! Very horrible experience first i made a reservation and prior to me arriving i find out they didnt have any vehicles available so they had to make a vehicle available. Then when i got car it required a 300 dollar deposit that the man told me id get back all to only receive 86 dollars of the deposit back and when i called the man said it smelled like smoke in the car, when i tried to explain that i dont even smoke the man got rude and very nasty with me and told me to come see him the next time im in miami and also said that i could not rent from them any more after i spent 1,200 with them OH AND BY THE WAY THEY DIDNT EVEN DESERVE THE ONE STAR THEY ONLY GOT THAT IN ORDER FOR ME TO POST THIS

Awesome experience renting a Camaro from these guys at Miami airport. Was about a year old, 22,000 miles and drove great. Easy to find for both pick up and drop off, loads of signposts in the multi storey. $500 deposit credited back to my account less than 2 days after dropping it back off, will definitely use them again next time were in town!

In my 12 years of renting vehicles I have never had such an experience. The only reason I selected this company was because it was the only establishment with any vehicles available. I am a loyal customer of Enterprise and now I know why. This company first brought out a white Toyota Camry with more dents, scratches, and scuffs then I could count, I eventually stopped taking photos during the pre-check and requested another vehicle. The employee brought another vehicle and I completed checkout. Unfortunately, during my rental period the Valet service of the hotel had an accident in the vehicle, slight damage to the front body skirt. Once notified of this incident I immediately obtained a police case number, photos, incident liability claim (from the responsible party), email & number to the claim preparer, and business card to the director of the hotel! I retrieved all this within a few hours all while still trying to enjoy my Laborday weekend prior to leaving. You would think that would be enough to satisfy any company. So why has it been over a week and this company still has yet to release a $500 deposit they placed on my card. I was told it would be released once they have receipt of liability (lol)! Now I dont work for an insurance company, but I am certain thats what the (Incident Liability Claim Form) is! Oh, and $330 for a 2018 Toyota Camry with 25,000 miles for 3 days with a $500 deposit is outrageous. NEVER EVER EVER again, I will rent from TURO before this company.

This is by far the worst car rental company in Miami! We rented a compact car from them, and had to return it hours later because the smell of marihuana was so strong we could not breath. After we exchanged the vehicle for another old smelly model, it was stolen the following night. We believe the agency had their own vehicle stolen for insurance claim payout purposes. After the car was reported stolen (in Kendall) to the police, they refused to activate the low jack system, however they immediately filed a claim to my insurance company for full payment of the car. Days after the theft, the cars tracker was never activated. The car was found by the police near the airport 10 days later and an arrest was made. We believe they hired someone to steel the vehicle in order to claim it to my insurance. In addition to all this, they charged my credit card $840. Beware with these small car rental agencys in Miami, they are very untrustworthy.

Its so upsetting. I had a reservation made and the attendant said I didnt and even though I had all my papers with me. He charged me double the price I was gonna pay. He insisted speaking to me in Spanish and never told me that there was gonna be a holding fee of 500 dollars. If i knew all those things before hand I would never rented there. He put me in difficult position that led me no choice but renting there. Make sure there arent small print info that you may be not aware so you arent compelled to rent with them because you have no other choice. Thoroughly disappointed.

If I could give them zero stars I would! This was the worst experience Ive ever had renting. Not only did my car need service but the registration was expired 4 months prior to my reservation. I was pulled over by the police due to this. Ive called now 30 times and still have yet to hear back from the so called general manager Rick. I highly recommend you spending the extra money to go anywhere else to rent a car! Diana was a joke to speak to and Ive talked to 3 staff now that constantly say Rick stepped out of the office. Either this Rick is fake or an awful manager. We have the registration here to Prove that the car and tag was renewed in May 2020. The Service Light She says is the Normal light that turns on in all the cars suggesting you should soon change the oil. Now she wants to Pay nothing for driving the car for 8 days and putting over 600 miles and only paying 179$. She is out of her mind and should go see a doctor. I did rent a Grand Cherokee for 17 days and everything was good.I appreciate that this company is smaller than others, it means, when you arrive from a long flight, you dont have a long line to wait, and thats a very good point (but this may change if they have too much customers).The only bad point was the fact they charged me the deposit instead of hold it ($500). Depending from which country you come, your credit card provider may charge a certain fee for every transaction and if they charge it instead of hold, you will lose this amount (2,5% in my case). But Family Auto Rental was fair and after I complained, they accepted to refund me the deposit + the 2,5% when I gave the car back. Thats why, even with this little problem, I still give them the 5 stars.About the car, I had the car I asked for when I did my booking, and thats a good point. It had a relatively low mileage (17k), everything was working well and I had no problem when I gave it back, this was quick, they didnt try to force me to pay for damages I didnt do like some others bad rental companies do…About the price now, I think the price for the car I did rent, with all insurances included, was relatively higher than many others companies for a similar car. I did compare and found many others companies with prices with similar type of car (even with v8 engine), unlimited mileage and tolls for 30% less… But I dont know those companies and I prefer pay more for have a good and quick service and no problems with I give the car back.So I recommend them, my experience was good.

On 1/4/ 2019, I had a car reservation with Avis Car Rental Miami; however, the employees there refused to acknowledge my reservation once they realized I was a local resident and was only going to rent the vehicle for one day. They used the excuse that they could not accept my debit card. (I previously rented from Avis Fort Lauderdale and did not have any issues with them with using my debit card.) Obviously I was furious, as after 24+ hour of flying and the fact that I made a reservation expecting for it to be honored. (At this point I had to figure out how to get home, my husband sees the sign Family Car rental and decides to go there-- best decision ever! We arrive at the counter, and are greeted by Hector and another young lady (sorry I cant remember her name). We explained what happened, and the NEED to a rent a car in order to get home. He was extremely transparent about the companys policy with respect to us using the debit card, terms of rental, etc. This is true customer service and professionalism. Further, in the midst of all the chaos, my husband left his cell phone at the counter-- we only realized after about an hour later when we arrived home. When I called Hector, he had the phone, verified it was ours and made sure it was safely kept. Kudos to Family Car rental for hiring professional individuals who care about the customers (understands their situations and tries to help) and makes sure to take care of the customers need from beginning to end.

The price was very reasonable and the guy (Frank?) at the counter was very friendly. They offer a military discount. Helped us out a great deal when we flew in late at night and the off-airport​ rental company (advertising to be open until midnight) told me that they were not going to wait for us until 11:35 pm to get there, even though I had a reservation. So, Family Auto Rental was a life saver. Their prices were a little higher, but it was worth it to be able to pick up and drop off at the airport. And to have a car instead of being stranded in Miami Airport. I will definitely consider renting here again when I come through MIA! They were not trying to upsell or push me into some insurance I didnt need. Good, smooth, friendly experience!

The people at Family Auto Rental treated us very well. Their agents were efficient and friendly. We booked our rental online. They clearly post all the costs on their website. There are no hidden fees or surprises. The car we booked online was a Nissan Versa. What they actually gave us was a 2017 Hyundai Sonata, which was fine with us. Except for some minor stains on the seats, the car was very clean and performed flawlessly. Their vehicles are equipped with Sun Pass and you pay only for the actual tolls. We were allowed to use our own insurance. They only asked to see the card from our insurance company. They do require a $300 deposit. This was refunded to our credit card within 4 days after we returned the car. They deducted the tolls from this deposit, which for us, was less than $15. Highly recommend Family Auto Rental of Miami.

Booked a car with Family Auto Rental only to receive an email two hours later that they did not have a car available. They did not call, I just happened to check my email. When I called the business, the employee told me they had minivans but would not rent to me for the price I had that was guaranteed in my original rental, that it would be 560.00 MORE than what I had. Insisting there was nothing he could do, we hung up. I cant help but think there may have been something that could have been done and it seemed as it because I need the car tomorrow morning, they were trying to get more money out of me.Poor service. Go somewhere else.

I must say I made the right move when choosing Family rental car, We had a smooth check in with Hector who was very friendly and honest. Cons? 4.5 stars. Great price and very accomodating. Booked a RAV4 online prior to arrival at MIA airport for a family of 5. Upon pickup at the counter, I had the choice of keeping the RAV4 or taking the Hyundai Tucson (slightly larger) for the same price. I opted for the Tucson and picked up the vehicle in the lot. Unfortunately, after loading all the luggage and installing the car seat, we couldnt figure out where the rear middle seatbelt was. The attendant couldnt figure it out either, so we switched to another Tucson and we went on our way. A few days later, we needed to upgrade to a 7-seater vehicle as we would be driving friends in the area as well. Called the counter, went back to return the Tucson and paid a reasonable price to upgrade to a Nissan Pathfinder. No hidden costs, cc hold was released within 24h. Downside: there is only 1 location for the rental so if you need to swap the vehicle, you will need to go back to the airport. Minus half a star as the backseat of the vehicle was not very clean. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

The woman checking in and out the cars downstairs in the garage was not interested in being friendly at all. Horrible Customer Service!!!! We had a convertible rented to drive to Key West from Miami International, when we arrived of course no convertible was available, and my husband had called the night before to make sure the car would be ready for us upon arrival. The gentleman at the front desk proceeds to tell us there is no convertible available but we could have a Jeep Safari for the same price and it was a t-top, not what we wanted or what we paid over $700 for. We were then told if we had called the night prior (which we did) the car would have been available, yeah not sure how that works because we left a $500 deposit and $200 was taken out of my husbands account today when we returned the car on Sunday for a smoking fee, which I find odd and almost comical since we dont even smoke! I have called the BBB and will be taking whatever steps necessary against this business and I use that term lightly. BEWARE DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!

This rental company was a super saved-the-vacation kind of deal. I cannot recall the staff persons name at the counter but she was very helpful and accommodating to the fact that we were traveling with small children. They gave us an awesome deal beating the competition. The car was excellent and you CANNOT beat the savings for the included sun pass (only paying for what you use) VS their big-name competitors who really push for an inflated, flat fee and scare tactics.I will be looking for more opportunities to do business with them.

From the moment I went to the counter I made up my mind whenever Im in the MiamI area,Family Auto is it...Had one mishap..The rental did not come with any tools to repair a flat. This was a slight setback in my plans.The manager was very professional and understanding of my iritation.This is a part of the vehicle. Road side assistance came and sorted me after about an hour.I am bringing my family back to Florida this Christmas Ill be renting from Family Auto Rental..

Amazing service! I was cancelled by a major franchise and they were incredibly accommodating. Fortunately they are inside the miami international airport next to all the major companies so it is a very safe location. The cars are nice and new, and unlike most auto rental car companies their rules are much less strict. I ended up saving money from my original reservation! You have won a client. If you are heading to miami and need a rental car, go to family.

I haven’t even returned my car yet but I wanted to write on the terrible customer service from the lady who β€œinspected” our car with us. She rolled her eyes multiple times and refused to write down all the scrapes and scratches we were pointing out. She said it’s in β€œrough shape”. The inside of the car has stains all over it as well. So we as customers are concerned and didn’t want to be held responsible for the pre-existing damage. I’ll probably go elsewhere next time where someone seems to be concerned about my worries instead of ignoring them... We return it on Saturday, so we will see how the return process goes.

We got a parking ticket and we had until Dec 18th to pay it.. when I checked my bank acct. a few weeks ago, they had pulled out $31.00.. when I called and asked why they said because I had a parking ticket and they couldn’t wait for me to pay it. They didn’t even call to let me know nor did they tell me this when I was renting the car. Second, they charged me $31.00 while my ticket was only $18.00 plus the manager (Janira?) was very rude. I guess besides that, the car was very reliable & clean.

I rented from the 29June to 3rd July- Dropped off the vehicle with no problems. HOWEVER today is the 13th July and my deposit has not been refunded. I called and got a very dismissive answer saying the deposit was refunded the same day. Luckily i got in contact with VISA who confirmed that family auto had a hold of $300 on the account. This was also confirmed by my local bank. I rented from Family before and had no issues. But this time, one call and 10 emails later, there is NO answer. Why am i being run around? refund my deposit. I am probably never going to use this service based on the lack of response. I can understand if this was a mistake and it wasnt released but, dont ignore my emails.

Every went smoothly, from the web reservation to dropping off the car. Reasonably priced and quick. From the time we walked up to the counter to the time we were loading the rental car was only about 20 minutes. No hard upsell for ancillary items. No surprises on the bill once we returned home. Having the sunpass included at actual cost of tolls is a big plus. Rental center located a short tram ride from the airport is convenient also.

To be honest I wished there were negative feedback, so I can give one to FAMILY AUTO RENTAL. Long story short in my life rental experience i have never been so disappointed and literally discussed by the management and customer service. I rented a car from FAMILY for 5 days in Miami FL. When I went to return the car early in the morning they were still closed. Little bit flustered of what to do since they were still closed and i had the flight to catch I noticed there was a key drop of slot in their garage booth so i dropped of the key and left to the airport. as soon i landed in NY i got a voicemail from the Family company that there is a problem and to contact them, so i did so. the gentlemen asked what i did with the key so i explained. they kept me on hold for over an hour trying to figure out whats going on excusing them self for keeping me waiting since they are very busy. After an hour they hung up on me and charged my credit card $172. i called them and they told me that they will call me back of what happened- they never did.i called again and spoke to the manager who assured me to look into it and get back to me within a day- never did!! called couple more times with no results. bottom line. i know i dropped of the key and i have a friend that was with me that witnessed that the key was returned!! and you know what ? im tired of calling them just to get a lame excuses! at this point if they did replace the key i want them to prove it with some documentation. I think small rental companies like this one take advantage of people and I would like for people to be aware of it!!! go with anyone else other than FAMILY AUTO RENTAL

Do not get a car from here. They will keep your 500 dollar deposit and say you scratched the car. They also will bill you more. Not worth it. Scam.
