Loved the experience here! Vincent and the other man were so nice! My friend even broke her flip flop while we were walking away with our kayaks, and they were quick to whip out the duct tape to help fix it for her! Thanks so much south beach kayak!
My group and I did the 1 hour route that allowed us to take a nice dip into the lake, and it was really fun and easy! I’ve been kayaking multiple times, but this is easily one of my favorite experiences. Not only is the staff (Vincent) super nice and cool, but the route was nice and easy. I was able to enjoy kayaking without feeling exhausted by the end. I genuinely recommend this to anyone reading this. Also, it’s super cheap!
We had the best time! Vincent was amazing! He was friendly, fun, knowledgeable and most of all patient for putting up with my group! Weather was questionable and he did a great job keeping me updated on whether we would be able to go out. I think the pricing was totally fair and the route was fun. Would totally recommend the SUP.
Just our luck. Picked this rental based on location only to find that it was too windy to get to our destination. The guy running it must get a lot of people who dont get it cause he explained everything at least twice and went over the map with us 3 if not 4 times. Hes not sending anyone out unprepared. The biggest down side was the amount of work required to get the boats to the water and back. Not sure how theyd make that easier but it was work. Overall we had fun, the guy was helpful and informative and three price was right.
Micheal at South Beach Kayak was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and gave us full instructions before sending us off to the water. We rented a double kayak and had a blast. Reasonable pricing and excellent customer service. If you are looking for a fun time go check out South Beach Kayak !

I had a great experience renting a paddle board from Michael the owner of the company. He was very knowledgeable and friendly as well as helpful about the area. Prices were reasonable. I will definitely rent from Michael again!
We rented paddle boards for two hours here and it was a blast! Vincent was very nice and went through the paddleboard techniques very clearly.The only problem was that we burned our feet returning barefoot from the dock to the store and one of us developed a small blister on the sole. The road in front of the store was immensely hot! The website recommended wearing sandals but I wish there was a stronger warning that barefoot can be dangerous in the summer in Florida. If I do it again, I will probably wear slippers on the ground and store them on the paddleboard when on the water.Anyway, I highly recommend South Beach Kayak! It was one of the most fun things I did on this vacation.
South Beach Kayak 2 hour kayak rental is an experience worth having! Vincent is very knowledgable, friendly, and offered us great advice around the area. The price is fair and the kayaks are well kept. 10/10!
I forgot the guys name, but he was so friendly and you can tell he loves his job. he’s very informative, and made DOUBLE sure we knew the route/wind nots/currents/etc. such a cool dude. we will be back for sure.
We had a great experience! It was pretty busy when we got there, but they took care of us promptly, gave great directions on how to get out on the water and we were on our way. Had a beautiful sunset kayak with friends. Definitely recommend for locals and tourists alike. As a Miami Beach native, this is one of my favorite spots. Will be returning!

We had a great experience. I made reservations online for the next day. the process was very easy. When we arrived, Michael took care of everything. He had all the equipment prepared and ready. He gave us a lesson and had us out on the water in no time. It was our first time paddleboarding, and we had a unbelievable time. we enjoyed every second.

Fantastic sunset standup paddle board tour with Michael! Highly recommended. Saw dolphins and amazing sunset. Also got a ton of fantastic pictures taken by Michael.
Was a lot of fun kayaking the ocean. Couple things I wished they did different. 1) they make you carry your kayaks down the street to the water and gives you an extra 10 minutes to do so. Depending on the day, there could and usually are a lot of people trying to get in the water and the docks are busy. It eats up the time on the water. 2) they don’t tell you that if you weigh over 200 lbs, you can’t take a single kayak out. You will need to take a double. 3) it’s clear bottom kayak (single only) but you can’t see the bottom anyways cause the water is always murky. But great service and great guys working.
Staff was really nice, we left 1/2 hr later than we booked and he was ok with us coming back 1/2 hr late. They explained the route of kayaking very well.I would highly recommend this place.

Friendly and helpful, very communicative. The weather and water conditions werent optimal on the day I reserved my paddle board and the staff reached out with plenty of time to re-schedule my reservation.
Very friendly staff. Location is easy to find. We rented two paddle boards. The launch area seemed very crowded as it seems to be shared by the public and other rental businesses near by.We kept our distance but still. a lot of people were waiting to be serviced and the time to wait for a board was long as people who brought their own stuff were taking their sweet time to get into the water.

This place is fantastic, they offer kayaks and epoxy paddleboards. First of all, they give you a very detailed map of the area, as well as a recommended route (with time considerations) based on the tides, winds, and conditions. A full on land lesson is also included free even if you only remotely question your abilities! There are others in the area that may be a bit cheaper, but trust me, theres a reason theyve been here for 20+ years. You absolutely get what you pay for when it comes to this place.

Gentleman at the rental shop was courteous and helpful. He made sure I understood the rates, and warned me about leaving my personal belongings behind as they would get wet. Im glad I listened because everything would definitely have been soaked or under water. Kayaks are well maintained, and definitely serve their purpose. Highly recommend this place!

Must do when in South Beach! My fiancé and I spent a few days in Miami and this was definitely my favorite part. The instructor (owner?) was very informative not only on what to expect with kayaking, but also places to eat as well as areas to see. His customer service was more then excellent!! Expect to see beautiful homes and boats on your trip down the water, as well as manatees :) Highly recommended.

Rented a kayak for a great price and had a blast with my boyfriend! The employee recommended a path that took up almost all of the allotted time and we got an amazing view of the bay and houses. It was my boyfriends first time kayaking and he is hooked. Well definitely do this again next year!
First time I ever went kayaking, pouring down the rain for half of it. But still enjoyed it and the two routes. Reasonable rates, helpful staff and waterproof boxes for phones is a bonus (for a charge). Would definitely recommend them.
We went on the guided tour to the island and it was great. Our guide was very friendly and basically made our experience much better. We called up the same day and was able to book the tour for 8 people. No excess or hidden charges. Over all my group was very happy with the experience.
Id never say Im an expert kayaker, but Im definite an avid one. Of all the places Ive rented a kayak from, this one was the easiest. No struggle to get in or out of the kayaks, because you roll the kayak to a ramp and ease your way into the water.Once your in, you have easy canals to paddle up and down in and a lake where you can jump out to take a quick swim. You also get to gawk at stupid expensive houses and dream big if you ever win the win the lottery.We were able to leave our stuff with the staff so to avoid messing up our cell phones, etc. The guys were pretty funny, too.
I love this place!!! The people were so very friendly and extremely helpful. They train you on using the equipment. They tell you which way to go based on the currents and the tides. Their equipment is top quality. The boards are not the cheap type, they are in great shape. The rates are very affordable and a much better deal than their competitors.

To make a long story short I had decided to drop my jet ski off at the marina down the street from this kayak shop. It was me and my girlfriend who drove to the a nearby island only accessible by water yet not far at all. After driving around for a little I realized I was having mechanical failure on the ski so I had no choice but to bring it in. Now my girlfriend still being on the island I had no way to bring her back to the mainland as my steering cable was torn completely. The Police, boaters, not a single person would help me out or to even care that I was in a rut. I was completely helpless and I looked around and got the idea to get a kayak and bring her back. I had no wallet, or anything. Only my phone and a car key with the jets hitched to the back of it. I came into the shop and Bonnie the owner was very very helpful. She sent my girlfriend a electronic waiver over the phone and we had them signed very quickly. She allowed me to give her my vehicle car fob and key as collateral. She was speedy as most of the day had already gone by and sunset was approaching in a few hours. She helped me carry the kayak all the way to the Mariana. The Service, Kayak equipment, price and hospitality is one of a kind. I would recommend the Kayak shop to anyone seeking kayak fun on the water! Thank you again Bonnie for your help I will come back to kayak soon!

Absolutely the place to go. Antonio was GREAT to work with, and helped to make the experience amazing.We didnt have reservations so we just showed up, and he answered all of our questions, helped us find breakfast before we went out, helped us launch, gave us tips where to go, and was there when we finished.The price was cheaper than other rental locations, and he was even kind enough to let us use a dry box as we had forgotten ours.Cant say enough nice things!
Rented a tandem kayak and everything about the experience was was 5 star. The 2 gentleman working that day were friendly and helpful. You could tell they really enjoyed what they were doing. Kayak was great and prices low.

Easy to find, RIGHT across from the marina(2 minute walk across the street). Friendly staff(Alex is great). Free water and youre given instructions of the tide and which way the wind is blowing for ease of navigation.

Enjoyed myself with a big group to go kayaking, and all of us had never tried before. Kevin was happy to give us a quick lesson and Bonnie gave us a great route to follow and have a good time. They even provided sunscreen and bottled waters for a buck. Great pricing!
Was pleasantly surprised with how awesome our kayak tour was, kayaking is always a good time but the tour is well worth it, Kevin did a great job talking about the area and plotting out our course for the kayak tour . The week we vacationed here is very windy and the shop wasn’t open due to weather, Kevin opened to take us on the tour and mapped out a course for us to avoid the majority of the high winds, it certainly helped a lot and all of us enjoyed the trip .I would highly recommend taking a kayak tour from south beach kayak, I’m sure we will all be back and I have advised some of my friends to check it out . The area is beautiful .

What a perfect kayaking experience, we are all beginners but the company gives you a quick lesson to help you out. The waters were calm and the mansions were beautiful. A definite must try!

Greatly priced with a friendly staff and non of those inflatable stand up paddle board. If its your first time going out definitely let the staff know and theyll give you helpful tips so that you can enjoy your time out. They are also kind enough to let you know that the weather or current is too strong
Really disappointed. Had other plans but I came here to rent kayaks on friday 3/8/19 at 2pm with a small group. When we arrived we saw a sign which stated “stepped out for a minute” Had a drink next door returned at 3pm and the sign was still up, went for a walk on the dock and returned at 4pm and the same thing. This must be some Miami minute. We Eventually went around the corner and rented paddle boreds, which isn’t the same thing. They were nice tho and gave us a good discount.
My wife and I had a great time kayaking around the islands. We also saw a Manatee. This was one of the best things we experienced at Miami Beach!!!

It was my 1st time paddle boarding and the staff (Bonnie) was extremely helpful. Provided clear instructions making it a great experience. The trip around the inlet took exactly 1 hr so mind the time .
I have been renting from South Beach Kayak for 3 years. The staff are super fun and helpful with ideas on where to paddle. The gear is in good condition. I have seen a manatee and 6 dolphin while paddling recently. I cant recommend them highly enough!
