Felt nice to get a cut after corona virus restrictions and lock downs have eased. John re organized and re modeled the shop to have an open, clean and feel safe vibe to an already great environment. Also easy to book on the Booksy.com app. I recommend this barber shop experience for sure!

John and the other barbers there do an amazing job every time. The place is looking cleaner and better every time. Going during Covid I feel totally safe as well. 10/10 would recommend every single time. Definitely worth it and totally an awesome time. Love going there.

Outstanding service! The owner (Shawn) definitely has a great establishment. From the old school barbershop relics in the front window to the atmosphere inside. Fast and extremely friendly service. A great place to get any kind of hair cut or style that you desire. The guys do a great job. The shop is clean and they all conduct themselves professionally. Completely Trash & the worst haircut I ever got definitely not worth $20. on top of that They had me wait like a whole 30 mins when I was the only one there and they had 2 barbers. One of them was eating and chilling and the other one was just talking having a full blown conversation doing nothing, Never coming here again. Can’t even give a correct lineup. I can give myself a better haircut than they can

Great spot! Passing through the neighborhood and stumbled across this hole in the wall. Could use a little remodeling but don’t let that deter you. These guys can fade.

A great barbershop always clean and welcoming everytime I go. I drive 30min just to get my haircut because they take their time and make sure you look good. Now that Im in college I take the train their. Highly recommend trying them out.

Came here once before, met Jay...super nice & easy to talk to actually The entire staff is pretty cool. I come here to get a shape up before I re-twist my locs...I like the natural (aka soft lines/edges) look and J does a great job!!! Today I challenged him to a style and he aced it!!! Thank you!!! First I just want to say this barbershop is the cleanest shop Ive ever been in. All the barbers are very friendly and the other customers that go inside are very nice also. Each barber inside can cut very well but my perosonal favorite is John. Hes on the first person on left when you walk inside right by the cash register. Ive had a lot of people cut my hair but nobody has like John does. The closest anybody else has been to cutting my hair is standing from a mile away. Not only is John a GREAT barber hes also very kind person you can talk to ! Though each barber inside Main Street cuts very well I recommend John !

Looks like an old-school barber shop. But I didn’t get an old-school haircut. I got a bad haircut.I tried them after a pretty good haircut at another Metuchen place. I had liked it at first, but the more I looked at it, the less I liked it. (I couldn’t go back and edit my original review to make it more accurate. Lesson learned, I won’t write anymore reviews until the experience sinks in a little!) So I took a shot at the Main Street Barber Shop.Timmy seemed like he knows what he’s doing, but he wasn’t doing it when I was in his chair. I think the problem was related to him reeking of marijuana. No judgment about smoking, but you need to bring your game face to work. And 9:30 in the morning seems kind of early to be firing up a big old spleef out back.I had to come back another day to get it cleaned up. But that cost me another hour and a half: drive there, cruise around looking for a parking spot (have you ever tried to park a car in Metuchen?) waiting for a barber, the actual cut, drive home... Who has that much time to waste? And the repair job required cutting my hair shorter: not really stellar. A semi-crew cut wasn’t what I was looking for, I needed to look sharp for a job interview.I’m going with 3 stars here because they were packed first thing Saturday morning; they must be doing something right. Otherwise, it would have been just 2 stars.
