My friend came in soo he could get an oil change with a coupon. Now, he just needed to do a routine oil change, his car was perfectly fine beforehand. Afterwards his car started making a noise and running stiffly. Very soon the engine gave out and started smoking! This completely threw us off guard since everything was supposed to be right with his car (he has taken it to the mechanic to make sure everything is right). Shortly after he took it to the mechanic and they told him that the engine got damaged due to lack of oil. Now, this happened too soon to be a coincidence.Worst part is they are trying to play it off and not take responsibility. Saying they are unrelated when consulting with someone else they can tell it is.Do yourself a favor and absolutely avoid this place.

My work trucks transmission blew up on the freeway. I had called a few other companies and one promised service within an hour. I was ghosted by that company and called Thompsons. He bailed me out of a bad situation, where i could have been stuck on the side of the road for 3-4 hours. Instead his guys came and saved the day. Thanks.

We are very satisfied with Thompsons. We take all 4 of our vehicles here and have been coming for years. They dont try and sell is stuff we dont need, which makes us trust then when its time to put some money into the cars. You can probably find cheaper but their prices are very competitive for a full service mechanic, and way less than the dealer. Even better, my wife trusts them. Its like a good babysitter you trust...you enjoy date night so much more when you know your kids are in good hands. Thats how it is with our cars and Thompsons.

Called them to see if they had someone available to tow my moms car. They had a gentleman out within an hour. He was so courteous and helpful. He also called when he got her car to the auto repair shop to let us know it was delivered and locked up (it was after hours).

Our jeep patriot was with you for almost 2 weeks. You kept changing the day on when it would be ready. My husband and I just got married yesterday and a repaired truck was paid for by my father in law as a wedding present. As we both work nights the the truck was finally supposed to be ready and it wasnt till this afternoon. So my husband didnt sleep. The truck almost overheated on the way home. On our way to work it completely broke down and died on us. We were lucky enough to pull it into the parking lot of my work, as my husband bused it to his work. Thank you so much for not bothering to test drive the vehicle ok r fix it or let us know if we needed additional repairs. You can expect a call Monday. And again thank you for making an important moment in our lives a nightmare.

These guys are so awesome! My car broke down halfway to Payson and after calling several towing companies, they all turned me down. I called Thompson and spoke to Joey. Great customer service and really personable. They said they would definitely come down and help me out. Mike was able to find us on the roadside and hitched us up no problem. He was so great and I would recommend them for sure!

After a horrific experience with Ford Roadside Assistances first towing company, Charity Towing, Ford sent Thompsons. I was given a 45 minute eta, and they were there in 30. The driver, James, called me and let me know where he was and how long hed be. James was very helpful and very nice. Great personality! Had a very good experience with these guys. They came highly recommended. Work was done quickly, and efficiently. Charlie even tried to help when it came to the costs. Auto repairs are never fun to have to deal with, but the guys at Thompsons Auto Repair made it a little bit easier.EDIT: A few weeks later, my AC started going out in my car. I brought it in. They found the leak, fixed it right up, and I was back on the road within 1 day. And they didnt try to charge me for it, since it was related to work they had done. Great integrity.

Great service overall, especially the driver Danny! Couldn’t be happier with the experience. Even though the phone got disconnected after waiting on hold for over 5 minutes, they made up for it with their speedy service. Danny rescued my car from the 202 Freeway in less than 25 minutes. My experience with everyone at Thompsons Auto has been very professional and courteous. I have taken 3 different vehicles in to be serviced and have never been disappointed. They go above and beyond every single time. The one and only time I had a minor issue following service, they had me in the very next day and fixed the issue with no questions asked, no hassle and very little wait. I also appreciate that they are very active in the community, helping other businesses and residents of Mesa. They have earned my business for a very long time.

These people towed my car and held it for well over a month. I reached out to them several times and it came across as if they wanted to work with me. They ultimately auctioned off my car without contacting me or my lender. My lender said that had they took the time to reach out they could have paid the balance and rolled it into my overall loan. Since they auctioned off my 2018 crossover with 3k miles I am now left with a $400 car payment and a $22K loan that needs to be paid off. Not to mention the fact that my personal belongings were in the car. Photos of my children that I will never get back. Thompson Towing has ruined my financial situation. I am paying for a car that I dont have and when I called them to get more information the lady had the audacity to get an attitude with me. I would stand clear of this business. With one call to my lender or even me they could have drastically changed my life. If they cant pick up a phone why trust them with your car?

So my husband and son purchased a used car and had Thompsons come tow it to the shop to get diagnostic on the car. They told my husband after a couple of days that the engine was all gunked up from sitting so they agreed that it was best to drain the oil and do an oil change etc...to the tune of $406. Oh and they originally quoted about $300 over the phone with my husband. so they did that and said that the car was ready. My son and I go pick it up and it starts right up and sounds good. Well we get about 2 miles down the road and the oil light comes on. So my son pulls over and pops the hood and its smoking. So after some investigation, there was oil leaking from the bottom near the oil pan. Any good mechanic would have wiped that down.Long story short we call Thompson to come to where we were to tow it back to the shop so that there was no further damage because we didnt know what the issue was. After they get it back to the shop the next day they call my husband to tell him that now that the engine needs about $4000 worth of work on the engine. So not only did they not diagnose the problem the first time but they had the nerve to charge another tow charge when they picked it up after the work was supposedly done the first time. I dont recommend that anyone go there for service because they are not the honest shop they claim to be

First it was only $50 for hook up, whick is $25-$35 cheaper than anywhere else. Second he showed up on time and was very polite and professional. Will use them for any towing needs now.

Wife and I have been bringing our cars here for about 10 years both for routine maintaining and repairs. We have always be pleased with the work done and found costs very fair. They have been excellent in responding to emergency needs.

I was exiting the 202 freeway at Power Rd, southbound, when my car suddenly stopped and the engine died.I contacted my insurance who contacted Thompsons Towing. Within 15 minutes, much to my pleasant surprise, Mel was there, pulling my car on to his truck.The amazing thing was at the drop off pint, my repair shop, a considerable amount of extra work was required to get the car into my mechanics shop because the right rear axel was seized frozen. Mel went out of his way to help the guys get my car into their shop. It was amazing to watch. Did I mention it was 110° outside? This service was amazing!!!

Bryan and his crew have done an excellent job with all of my vehicles including by business and personal autos. Their rates are very competitive when compared to the auto dealers but they have the expertise, software and computers to fix almost any car out there. As a female who has been taken advantage of countless times over the years with dishonest mechanics, I am always quite reluctant in having to bring my vehicle in to any repair shop. Thompsons team, however, treated me both respectfully and with professionalism when I brought my car in for a free oil change (coupon received via Salvation Armys Christmas Tree Angels). Even when they got grease and residue on the front hood and bumper of my vehicle, they responded immediately and took care of it for me. They even went as far as to offer to have my entire vehicle detailed to rectify the issue. Although I kindly declined, I will remember the gesture and plan on being a returning customer for years to come!

Had my Ford Escape towed less then 3 miles from an auto body to my house, plus this towing company was within a mile of the pick up location where my vehicle was and i try bringing my business back to Thompson to have my car towed 4.5 miles and they can’t work with me on their pricing(it’s just crazy how simple the task is & how much a profit they will make off this probably 30-45 minute job, but can’t shave $15-$20 off the regular price). I appreciate you not helping and am happy to give another company my money.

Honest people. Had a few unexpected issues - but they made it right! Great customer service. I trust them with personal and company vehicles. If work is needed but not necessary right now - they let you know. Highly recommend them.

Needed to see my registration to tow the car to the shop. We are moving houses so all my files were across town and the car has been sitting in the driveway so i didnt leave my information in the car. Driver left as soon as he heard i had no proof of ownership even though he watched me use the keys to open the car and look for my registration. Makes me wonder how would they have known if it were my car had i left my keys inside the vehicle?

I deliver pizza for a living, so its very important to me that my truck is maintained mechanically. I would not trust anyone but Thompsons to do the work. They may not be the cheapest shop in town, but they use skilled mechanics and are completely ethical in their work. They keep an eye on my truck and let me know when work needs done, but never sell me something I dont need. I have been sent away more than once when I think something needs fixed and they check it and tell me its not time yet. All of the employees are friendly and professional and Im thankful to have found this shop.

Im super pleased with how kind, courteous and down-to-earth the people at Thompsons are. They remind me that mechanics are people too. People who also drive cars and care about their maintenance. The owner was kind enough to give me a call to express his apology for one of his dispatcher. It was very kind so I added an additional star back. I understand one employees attitude does not reflect the entire company. I will use again in the future.Used my roadside assistance with Progressive to schedule a tow between 7 & 7:30AM the following morning. At 6:05AM I received a confirmation with an estimated time of arrival for 6:49AM. At 7:15AM Progressive called to ask if the truck was here, it wasnt so they connected me to Thompsons. I spoke to James who apologized and said they had a pick up for 8AM. I said no worries as I know third party lines can get crossed and waited until 8:10AM to call Progressive. Progressive said it would be another 40-60 minutes. This time I called Thompsons and spoke to a woman who was INCREDIBLY RUDE. Told me that they had a pick up on the interstate which took priority (which I understand for safety reasons). I asked why she didnt bother to call me to let me know about the delay and she didnt seem to care. I decided to cancel but then Danny called to tell me he was only 15-20 minutes away. He was very sweet and understanding of my frustration. He mentioned the service they could do for my vehicle at their sho but I told him since that woman was so rude I did not want to take my vehicle there.They could of gave more business and a new customer. I appreciate Danny and James for their service. Maybe they could teach her a thing or two.

I took my Honda Element in for its first oil change and oil leaked out so I took it back, they put another oil filter in and it still leaked so back I go. I had put a paper bag under it to prove the oil was dripping because they laughed at me. Three oil filters later I take it to the dealership because it still leaked oil. I had asked to have my tires rotated and Thompsons said they didnt need rotating. The dealership said my tires had a wear pattern so bad because the wheel alignment was out in both the front and back and my air filter was covered in oil. The under carriage had so much oil from Thompsons sloppy work not using the correct equipment that was why it was still dripping oil. Thompsons told me they had put the wrong filter on the first 2 times!! So they cant even change your oil correctly or with their 27 point inspection see noticable tire wear. Chuck their office manager seems so nice (yuk it up Chuck, did the laughing) and their Newsletter they send out calling you their friends to make you trust them makes me sick. So beware and do not use them. AAA will hear about this, so go elsewhere.

My friend was in accident and his vehicle was towed to Thompsons before the Thanksgiving weekend. The first availability to pick up was December 1st, 2017. Due to work schedule we weren’t able to pick up until Dec 2nd. An appointment was scheduled for 930am, as a courtesy we called 15 minutes prior to arriving as well as when we arrived. We had to hire another company to pick unit out of their yard and he met us there. Once we arrived my friend called and spoke with Brian as no one was at the office. Brian said he would try to get someone out there. My friend asked you will try? I have a 930 appointment. Brian said yeah I will try. After 45 minutes of waiting James arrived. We went into the office to pay fees and there was misunderstanding and amount owed, title questions that was previously discussed with Diane. James called Diane and she quickly corrected him. Everything was just as we were told the day before and it took an hour for him to figure that out... point is, after being in accident which is stressful enough, you have to deal with lots that make their own rules and do things on their own time. We didn’t want a deal or discount we just wanted to get the vehicle out without a fuss. Good luck to anyone that has to go through experience.

Daniel, a tow manager, was the one who arrived to pick up my vehicle after my accident. There I was, in a strange city with no real idea where any services were, needing to connect with a rental car and it was already after 5pm. Daniel offered to give me ride. While with him I connected with rental car services and he helped identify a location we could be at before the offices closed at 6pm. We were in rush hour traffic on a Friday. With Daniels help, I arrived at the rental office 5 minutes before closing and was able to procure a replacement. Daniel then even helped me unload the gear from my wrecked vehicle so we could both be on our way. Because of Daniels help, I was able to make it to my own home that very night rather than be stuck staying where I did not need to be. Thank you Daniel!Next - my wife and I realized I had left a couple of items in the vehicle. We are hundreds of miles away with no way possible to visit their yard and pick them up. One call and an email to Thelma, on of the owners, was all it took! She went to the vehicle, retreived the items, boxed them up and sent them to us. They were in our hands two days later. Thank you Thelma!

VERY BAD experience at Thompsons Auto repair off Main and Stapley. Im not very experienced at dealing with auto repair shops mainly because Ive been using the same guy since I got my car. But they seemed honest and the tow truck driver was friendly enough. Boy was I wrong. Their tow truck driver misled me to believe that diagnostic/estimate would be free as well as the tow to my own mechanic should I choose not to use them (which he did not honor). After refusing to pay the you should have known diagnostic fee, the owner referred to me as you people and accused me of wanting handouts. I could not believe the audacity of the owners self-righteous insult. The driver even admitted to not giving me all the proper information before taking my car to their shop. Without even an apology, or offering to honor his promise to tow my car to my own mechanic; the owner proceeded to preach at me about being a person who wants everything for free! I work 6 days a week and pay my own rent, car, bills, food, etc. I couldnt believe what was happening. Also, I didnt see one single female or person of color working there...thats a big red flag for me because Im Asian American. Curious what the EEOC would have to say about that. Never again Thompson.

Took my truck in for AC warranty repair. Technician broke the trim on the drivers side getting into the truck. Now they want me to pay for something they broke. And not just pay, but pay more than It should cost for the part. Not a good way to treat customers!!!

We have taken our cars to Thompsons for several years. When my Hyundai Elantra needed a 120,000 mile check up I took it to Thompsons. The car was vibrating before and after the service, so I took it back and it was swiftly diagnosed needing 2 new motor mounts. Charlie and the mechanic Michael were very helpful. Car repairs are expensive, but necessary to keep the cars in great running order. My car runs now like new. When Michael said you can barely hear it running, he was right. The idle is quiet and I am very happy with the service. Well be back for the timing belt to be replaced.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I was already being overcharged for my radiator but because I was promised it under warranty I went with it. The owners son Joey promised my radiator/hoses under warranty and then after it was fixed, he said I needed to fix something else for over $400 and if I didnt, I dont get the warranty I was already promised. The tow truck driver told me all my towing costs would be free if I went to them which was also a lie. They even charged me for an oil change I didnt ask for. Save your money and go ANYWHERE else!!!

Do yourself a favor and dont get involved with this company. I refer to their towing service and one of their drivers (have not, wont use its repair service). This driver just does not have good customer service, but the worst is that he also lies to his manager by saying customers cuss at him to cover for his lack of common sense, courtesy and sense of service to stranded motorists waiting for the tow truck under 110 degrees. At the end of the day this drivers made Thompsons Auto Repair & Towing lose money, earning him in the process the lowest rating for never showing up to pick up my vehicle and, worst, for lying.

This is a VERY shady business man. I got in an accident and had my car towed. Bad enough, but this guy, told us one price and then would keep on telling us different prices. Finally when we go to pay him, he said he only accepted cash. He decided to tell us then when we were there without cash instead of all the other times we interacted with him. Probly hoping to get us in extra fees.VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!

I took my 2001 Ford truck in a few days ago, they did ok on fixing it, didnt do anything great to it but charged me enough to buy a new truck. The thing that makes give them only one star (I wish I could give a lower score) is the fact that my emergency cash hidden in my glove box mysteriously disappeared while in there shop. Chuck, the owner I believe, assured me that nobody could have taken it because it was locked in there garage the whole time and he pays his people enough so that they would not need to take my 100 dollars. The money isnt even the part that makes me the most upset, along with the cash was a picture that my little brother had given me years ago and I cared a lot about. That somehow disappeared with cash and ipod to radio adapter. Use anywhere but here.

I have finally found a repair shop I can trust to do the work right and with morales. I had a water pump replaced in a car that I did not drive much and was given a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on it. I had a problem with it about 14 months later and only 6,000 miles later. Thompsons stepped up and took care of me. Since then I have had several other things done to both of my veheicles and have to schedule more repairs today. Thanks for being so honest aand easy to deal with.
