I bought a week pass and enjoyed my time. Everytime I come home to visit I will train here. Great staff and very clean

Ive been a member here for close to 3 years. Its definitely not a beginner gym, everybody goes about their business, they know what theyre doing. They have ample amount of machines balance with free weights and cardio equipment. Plus two closed off rooms for Fitness classes Etc... one of the rooms also contains a heavy bag and various other equipment. The other has heavy ropes, with other alternative training devices.

The gym is always spotless! Great staff always willing to compromise and help out guest. Locker room is spick and span. Music and tv are always putting you in a great mood to keep working out and getting those gains.

The equipment and gym are always clean. I do believe its the people that run the gym that sets it apart. The manager and trainers are awesome!!!

Ive been coming to Charter Fitness for two years now, great exercise environment and very friendly staff. Big shout out to Zack & Pat for always being so positive & engaging in classes! Recently, Charter has been making a continuing effort to expand its offerings! Such as adding new equipment, and also adding new comfort additions like massage chairs. The members who train here are also very very friendly and helpful, I always feel welcome here. All these factors keep me coming back and youll enjoy yourself here too.

I think that this gym very wrong for charging more for my membership then what was on my contract. And not only that Im stopping my member ship because I feel that this gym is not safe during this covid pandemic. The last time which made me cancel my membership there was because no one including staff were not wearing mask. So I left and knew that I wasnt going back...........

Great place to workout, I lost 14 pounds in my first month. The staff are very helpful, caring and compassionate for their members. The classes are awesome and the trainers will work you hard but its worth it.

Great place com workout at! Has everything you need for most variants of exercises. Celine was very helpful with informing me about the ins and out of the gym and what various memberships had to offer!

Charter Fitness in Merrillville is an amazing place to workout! I have been a member for quite a while and I could not find a better gym. The equipment is top of the line and very well maintained. From day one, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I workout usually in the afternoon/evenings. Chase, Celine and the rest of the staff make you feel welcome and create a family environment. That type of outstanding treatment of their members speaks volumes for what kind of atmosphere is in this gym. Definitely a must if you are looking for a new gym in the area!

The Charter Fitness in Merrillville on 61st has on one the best gym communities. Its a really easy place to make new friends, especially since most of the people you run into go to the gym on a regular basis. Plus they also have a phenomenal staff! Shout out to Celine, Will, Zack, and Haley! Some of the best gym staffed Ive ever met.

So, I have been to a lot of different gyms and the Charter Fitness in Merrillville is the friendliest, cleanest, and most welcoming gym I have ever been to. The equipment is kept clean, the staff are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful, and I have never felt uncomfortable working out here which has been a HUGE issue at other gyms. I have had more progress in my health going to this gym than any other gym I have been to.

A lot of changes have been made to the Charter Fitness in Merrillville - in a good way. They just went 24/7, 2 massage chairs are available, Silver Sneakers and senior classes, yoga classes, etc. The staff there is very friendly and always willing to help. The personal trainers, Liz, Zach and Pat are are all very knowledgeable. You can tell everyone there really cares about their clients.I love attending the team classes. People who attend are of all abilities and everyone cheers each other on. Its a very encouraging environment that makes you want to keep coming back!

I think Celine is a credit to this fitness gym. She is the most helpful person here since I have been coming to this charter fitness in merrillville. She is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating, as well as professional!!!

...back in the day (lol), I was one of those gym rats with memberships at several gyms in the area...but as life happens, you realize you really just need one go to spot to get it done...for the past couple of years, Charter Fitness has been that spot...friendly, attentive staff and all the equipment you need to get it done!

Good gym, health club for someone trying to get back in shape, or exercise to lose weight. One year contract required! Dont join unless youre serious because they will automatically debit your credit or debit card or checking account forever and it can be difficult two quit your membership!!

This had been my gym if choice for years. The staff are great and the facility is clean. Charter does not have major amenities. It is a straight up gym where you can put in work and carry on about your day.

Some machines werent working or working properly. Im not into the chain fitness centers unless its boxing and those of that type. Its not a big place but they have bathrooms with showers and a small group fitness room

I would like to take a minute and give you some info on Charter Fitness . My husband and I have been a member here at the Merrillville location from day one. We have seen many changes through out these past few years . But it’s truly for the better! If you are looking for gym that has something to offer. Like an exercise class they have Team training classes with two very qualified trainers. ( Pat & Zak) Who also offer personal training.Then there is yoga to include classes for seniors. With trainer ( Liz) . Charters in Merrillville has so many workout machines to include free weights! Plus they have added so much more. Then there is the staff, they are so friendly & welcoming. You have Chase, Dre & Celine. Who are always there to help. They even have two massage chairs to help with all of your aches and pains. It’s also great for recovery after exercise. For you seniors out there they even offer Silver Sneakers .I definitely would recommend Charter Fitness in Merrillville.

My experiance here is great, i love the staff they are very personable and helpful, the equipment is very easy to use and even more equipment has been added, I like that the gym has a family atmosphere so I would recomend this gym to anyone looking for a good place to workout

I really enjoy this gym, I workout here five times a week. Chase, Dre, Zack, Pat and Saleen are always welcoming, positive, helpful and very knowledgeable. The culture at Charter Fitness Merrillville is to give your best in every workout to get optimum results. The staff also works out frequently and will not hesitate to give you tips on how to improve your workout and reach your fitness goals. I give Charter Fitness Merrillville 5 stars.

The music in the gym is so loud. It should be at a normal volume so we can hear our own music . Ive walked in multiple times and staff is just on their phones at the desk not watching who comes and goes . Nice staff . Pretty clean gym besides the broken hampers .

I hadnt been in a year, took a friend who just moved back from Canada today and he wasnt allowed to join me!! They said he had a out of ID. Wanted him to pay $10 for today only!! Wouldnt let him do the trial membership either!! Up until now I had no problems, I even took a friend last year, he was my motivation to go back and they denied him!! Can someone elaborated on this type of behavior!!!

GARBAGE!!! ... be careful signing up with this trash place!!!... if you decide to cancel your membership, they will try to keep you on it even though THEY WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU THAT YOUR MEMBERSHIP WAS CANCELED!!! ...basically to keep milking you like an cow!!! So when you look around and you thought your membership was canceled, they would have charged you once its time to pay again for the month!!! LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD!!! ...people, youve been warned!!! 😤

I had 96 reward points deducted from my account and nobody can explain to me what happened, I asked the Assistant Manager Devin to have the owner call me to address my issue. The owner is untouchable!!! He doesnt return calls and Devin was soooo busy working out himself he wouldnt even come to the front desk to speak to me!!!! What kind of customer service is that????? They dont have a issue taking my $19.95 out my checking account but cant explain what happened to my reward points. Devin suggest getting a free team training session, dont tell me how to use my reward points, I dont do team exercises. I need the OWNER to call me and acknowledge my issue. I need my points restored to my account. Horrible Customer Service!!!!
