Eddie and his staff are the best there is! The art and atmosphere in the shop speaks for itself. But then get the grace of watching these guys work... my son ivan wont see any other barbers anywhere else. Ive tried a few and this shop will always have my familys business. Friendly, flexible, makes for great business.

Brought my son here for the first time for a new haircut to start 6th grade with and had an incredible experience! James was patient, sweet,on time, easy to talk to, and listened to my son on what he wanted with his hair. Eddie (owner) was also wonderful and he made sure to greet each person that walked in. Bryan the barber located at this location did an amazing job with my haircut. He made a design dedicated to my grandmother that recently passed away and it came out better than anticipated. I recommend coming here and speaking to Bryan the barber for your haircut and designs needs.

Our son is on the spectrum and has only had 1 other cut and that was traumatic. Eddie was amazing eith my son, quick, gentle, and distracted him. Had him looking so fresh for 5th grade and even gave him a cool design to match his favorite super hero. We will certainly be back. Worth the drive from West Haven!

When you make appointment on lline it said $30 the hair cut. My son was charge $40. Make that clear on your page. We tip for service any way. Last time well get service from new style.

What i love about this place is that they are Autism Certified Studio, so if you have child on the spectrum they will work with you and you child to make sure they have a comfortable and great experience. I wish i coukd give this place a 20 stat review.

My son, who struggled tremendously with haircuts due to sensory issues, had his first haircut with Eddie today. Although he cried and moved, Eddie managed to give him his best ever haircut. He was compassionate and patient. I would highly recommend Eddie to anyone!

I wish I could put into better words the gift Eddie has. I took my 2 nephews who were extremely over due for haircuts this weekend. They both had been through a lot, and both were special needs. The confidence that Eddie gave them was incredible. I watched both boys carry their heads a little bit higher, and I watched their smiles get a little bit bigger. I brought my two year old grandson to get his first haircut to Eddie. Being his first haircut my grandson was anxious and scared but Eddie had a way to make him feel at ease and comfortable!! Today was his third haircut he smiled and he even said “Thank you Eddie!! I totally recommend New Style!!!

Great place for a haircut and all the barbers are certified to handle those with Autism, making it easy for them to feel ok with getting a haircut. They are doing great things.

Gave this shop a try based upon the positive reviews and the fact that its in my neighborhood. I agree with the other reviews about the shops cleanliness and atmosphere but the cut fell short. I had sideburns to the bottom of my ear and the barber completely removed them. This is the first time Ive ever been a new client somewhere and wasnt asked how I like my sideburns.

Just like they prefer 1 day cancellation, I would’ve prefer that as well. I can understand things can come up but they could’ve at least called and reschedule the appointment an hour before cancellation not while I’m on the way there.

This place by far is amazing! I was very skeptical being my past experiences. This place is VERY professional. The fact they are there early is amazing. Fantastic environment. Best barber shop around! Positive vibes, respectful atmosphere and awesome barbers. James has been my barber for a few years and he is the consummate professional. Even when businesses were closed he made house calls to take care of his customers. This shop is also a great environment for children and are active in the community by rewarding students with good grades and providing support for those with disabilities. I brought my 8 year old son to New Style this week, the day before school started in Meriden. It was pretty busy but the staff were all extremely professional and efficient with the customers. This place is very clean and the atmosphere is light and airy. I’ve taken my son to several barbershops over the past couple of years and this one is by far the most kid friendly without being exclusively for kids. Eddie does a fantastic job on my sons hair and keeps him engaged throughout his visit. And if you’re looking for artwork there’s some really amazing pieces for sale at the shop.

You would never think this was a new shop. The energy when you arrive is welcoming and comforting. Everyone there is so inviting and the conversations around typically stem about growth and opportunities, experiences and lessons in life. I want to thank my barber James for always giving me fresh haircut also being more then just a barber someone who considers you a family member the more you visit. This shop has the best vibe of connection Ive ever been too. I recommend them.

It included a FRESH Cut & Shave, Ear Waxing, and a Facial! I left feeling BRAND NEW! I am now a regular weekly client of Bryan! The barbershop has a Modern & CLEAN feeling to it, and all barbers are professional. There is a nice seating area to wait along with arcade games.

Great shop with fantastic customer service, and great craftsmanship. These folks know theyre performing witchcraft on your un-salvageable hairline, and do they hold your wallets hostage? NO! They hit you with standard rates and ask if youd like your eyebrows tended to... I called up New Style Barbershop in the morning and had an appt. that afternoon with Eddie. New Style was extremely clean and cool with an inviting interior. Eddie has his own artwork on the walls which adds a super unique touch inside.Eddie was accommodating, pleasant to chat with, and most importantly gave a great haircut.

New Style Hair studio Is very welcoming making the barber experience a great one. My son who usually doesn’t feel comfortable with haircuts left the studio with a big smile and loving his new look. We will definitely be back again, thank you to all the staff!

Great barbers my go to spot

We booked an online appointment 10:30. The workers there were confused about the appointment. It was way too crowded for COVID. The barber we scheduled our appointment with for my autistic son was working on someone who wasnt even wearing a mask and based on how the place looked they probably werent even going to sanitize that chair before it was our turn. There was a woman still waiting in the waiting area who had an appointment for 10:00. This place supposedly specializes in autistic children but if they actually did they would know how important it is for the appointment to be prompt. I would give this place zero Stars if I could. We walked out. Never again.EDIT: Since the facility accused me of booking my appointment wrong, adding a photo proving I got an email confirmation saying that my appointment was booked. I also got multiple texts confirming that my appointment was booked. If you are going to set up an online/automated booking system maybe you should take the time to learn to use it properly. C.A.T.S is literally one of your online booking options and you have no idea what it is. It says it even says it in the screenshot of the appointment I booked.

As parents to two year old twins, One having autism, We just cannot say thank you enough for advocating and educating yourselves on ASD. Once you have met an individual with autism, You have only met ONE. Everyone is different and you would be so surprised how far compassion, patience, redirecting, a safe environment, and positivity goes. Kudos to you all for what you are doing, and I cannot wait to bring my son in when he gets a little bigger! It brings me a lot of peace knowing people truly do care about others. I have heard nothing but good things!

If you are looking for a new place to get your cut, come to New Style. You are greeted when you enter and acknowledged which is fantastic. Some places you go in and wait for that. Not here. Appointments are the way to go, but if you walk in, they will take care of you. I observed this while there. Waves James did my cut. He did a fantastic job. His focus is on meeting his customers expectations. I will be going back. Thank you James for a great experience.

My son is on the spectrum and is 2yrs old. I’ve been to several barbers and he cry’s threw the whole experience. I believe his name was Lewis who cut his hair yesterday. He was very good and took his time with my baby. He cried a little but not like he usually does. I wanted to say thank you for taking your time with my baby.
