This place is great. It literally does everything advertised. You learn defense, build confidence, improve body control etc.Now this being said, it is a long journey. It is not a one night, week or even month ordeal. You begin this for the long haul. A vast majority of people who have anything negative to say fall into one of two categories.1) they expected a quick fix and werent in it for commitment2) they didnt want to or couldnt follow instruction given. If you find yourself thinking negatively here, take a look at these two options and see which one you can improve. Now go forth. Learn, master and enjoy
I LOVE Z-MI, but I might be biased, Im a sensei there. i started 11 years ago along with my kids. We might not be a hardcore, MMA based type of dojo, but you will learn how to defend yourself if you need to. But really, martial arts is about learning how to move with purpose and balance, we just learn to defend ourselves in the process, and we get to kick and punch things. The Senseis in Z-Ultimate all genuinely care about not only their own students, but everyone who trains with us. I call it a family vibe being part of the Z tribe. Sorry for cheese.
I needed a way to get fit for my wedding and running was taking too great a toll on my 35yo joints. This workout is incredible.Ive worked with a variety of instructors - something I was put off by initially bc I am a creature of habit - but I quickly grew to recognize that everyone shared a love for teaching this martial art - it transferred from one instructor to the next.Ive endured the endless how many 9yo did you have to beat up to... and thats why Im here writing this. This is by far the best workout for my body and mind without being on some dumb machine or enduring that one guy dropping weights from what sounds like the ceiling to prove just how insecure he is. This is a collaborative learning process between people of all different ranks pulling each other up to greater heights. Finally, my instructor/chief instructor, Rachel is the type of person you want teaching your kids how to achieve great things. Go get your free lesson to try it out and tell me shes not exactly the person you hope they would have mentoring their little minds. I cant wait until my 1yo is old enough to have her teach him!
Its a great place to learn self-defense while making new friends! The instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. The group sessions are a great workout and the individual sessions will hone your skills!
