My landlord called two times for the garbage container to be removed.Since I moved in Ive called five weeks in a row and they still have not removed the container they are not returning phone callsThey take messagesBut never return the phone calls.

This company is incredible! I have worked with several companies in the area over the past ten years, and I wish I would have found Home Town Disposal sooner! Their customer service is great, they offer a discount if services are prepaid a year in advance, they always arrive on schedule, and they pick up everything! I really couldnt recommend this company enough.

I watch these guys every Friday morning when I work from home. They are very efficient. I think, okay, they arent going to see that piece of paper that flew away - they always do. They pick up after themselves.

I called to set up service and the rep took my info to set up the account. After taking my info, she began to tell me what the restrictions were for the pick up items. I got upset immediately because she hadn’t explained prior to this. I asked for a supervisor. Christina came on the line and I was still pretty upset and explained why. I explained that the rep hadn’t explained this prior to taking the money. She explained things better and said that everthing is in the welcome packet. I responded by saying that customers should be explained these things before they are charged. I ended my call with her after she explained the details in the packet. She called back a few minutes later and stated that my card was not run. She said she wouldn’t do business with me because I was rude to her. All I could do was laugh because this is a business and I expected professionalism and didn’t receive it from this company. Customers aren’t going to always make you feel warm and cozy. Anyone in the industry dealing with people knows this much. I spoke to them and expressed my anger without yelling or cussing at anyone. But the management said she won’t do business with me because she doesn’t feel it’s a good business relationship since she doesn’t like my attitude. Im happy to not spend my money here! They should mint be in business if they can’t deal with difficult people.

Horrible lazy workers. Even though we are allowed to leave 5 cardboard boxes they never take them. My husband called the owner about this issue and instead of helping he was very rude to my husband and accused of running a business. Has he not heard of online shopping? He also told my husband to go find another trash company. So unprofessional!!

Ive used all the different options and this has been the most consistent company for keeping to the schedule. I dont care about all the other complaints mentioned on here, I just want my trash collected per the schedule. They do that.

I have had this company for the last 3 years and I have never had a issue great customer service every call I ever made to them. I forgot to put my can on the side of the street and was walking out the house for work and the guy was walking up to get it. I would highly recommend them. thanks Home Town Disposal 5 stars from me.....

This is an awesome company!! There have been a total of about 6 mornings I forgot to take the trash to the curb. 3 of those mornings (when they we’re running early) they pulled it from the top of my driveway down to be emptied. 2 of them, they didn’t run until after 7 and I was able to take it before I left. 1 morning they skipped me. Guess what? I’m not even mad. My paperwork doesn’t say they do that at all! I’m sure they want to prevent having to come back if we call but they could also just be dedicated and want to help us out. I LOVE this company. They pickup flattened boxes, extra bags, etc. Give them a try if you haven’t, prices are great, service is great. I got my receptacle within a few days of paying but the first pickup day I didn’t have one. I just used my last providers since they hadn’t picked it up yet. Hometown emptied it as usual.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! FROM THE MANAGER CHRISTINA TO THE OWNER BARRY - VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!! ALL I WANTED WAS MY TRASH CAN REDELIVERED. THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND NEVER DELIVERED MY TRASH CAN. THROUGH RESEARCH OF MY OWN, I FOUND OUT IT WAS DELIVERED TO THE INCORRECT ADDRESS AND ASKED IF IT COULD BE REDELIVERED. THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME TO PICK IT UP MYSELF OR WAIT ANOTHER WEEK (IN ADDITION TO THE7 BUSINESS DAYS PREVIOUSLY GIVEN). BARRY THE MANAGER EVEN WENT SO FAR TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS MY FAULT AND THAT I SHOULDVE JUST PAID ON TIME AND CAN TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. SIR I APOLOGIZE IF FAMILIES ARE MAKING PRIORITIES DUE TO LAYOFFS BUT WHEN I PAY YOU $160 TO REDELIVER MY TRASH CAN, I EXPECT IT TO BE DELIVERED WITHIN YOUR TIME FRAME. I am shocked at the negative comments I am seeing...is this REALLY the same company who services my home? We have been with them for 3 years and they have been nothing but wonderful. When our service first started, my can was delivered a couple of days earlier than promised. I put out ”too many” outside bags (not knowing there was a limit) and when I called about bags being left behind, they came back for them. Because its 3 months at a time, sometimes I forget and they offer a little grace and still pick up my trash. One morning, we were late putting trash out, but they waited. Communication is key in any relationship. I would recommend Home Town to anyone. To those of you with bad experiences, I am terribly sorry.

I wanted to keep my money local instead of using the national conglomerate that also operates in Memphis. Signed up for service and they drafted my bank account that day for my first three months. I dont see where I got a free month like their google information ad shows underneath their contact information. They stated I would have my trash receptacle within 7-10 business days. Coming up on two weeks now and still no trash receptacle. Im having to store my trash bags in my garage which is a serious odor problem because the weather is warm. I called them today and they stated they are waiting on new receptacles to come in and will get one out to me as soon as the new shipment comes in. That doesnt help my current situation as I have to get up before 6AM and haul my trash bags to curb to ensure they are picked up instead of rolling a receptacle out the night before. It also means that I continue to have to deal with a rather nasty odor in my garage. I inquired if I could receive a credit for this inconvenience and they stated that I am still receiving service, inconvenient or not. The secretary who answered the phone was very polite, but I dont think that this company really cares if they lose new customers due to their inability to provide the agreed upon equipment. They send out a nice letter telling you what to expect and how much they will charge you if you damage or lose their trash receptacle, but cant provide it to you in a timely fashion and cannot give you a time frame of when to expect one. I should have used the national conglomerate and paid a little more each month for the service. At least they are consistent and timely from my previous experience with them. Find another alternative for your trash needs, these folks dont care if they inconvenience you or do what they tell you they will even though they clearly outline what you can expect of them over the phone and by letter when you sign up.

Home Town Disposal took advantage of my widow disabled mother by charging her $30 for a service on a separate call after confirming with me it was no additional fee for a courtesy. They never performed the service and changed their pick up requirements with no notice. She still got charged.If you want to be treated like the trash they barely pick up be a customer of their’s for 12 years and they will.Do not listen to their customer service department. Top down very unethical company.

I just recently switched to Hometown Disposal from another provider, and today proved it was the best decision. We put out some empty boxes (large) that our previous provider kept leaving behind each week. They just wouldn’t take them. This morning Hometown picked them all up!!!!!! We are so THANKFUL!!!!!!!!! Great job!!!!

We switched over a few months ago and everything is wonderful. The owner is polite and easy to deal with and we have had multiple interactions on the phone. Its nice to have a local picking up our trash and the cost is a lot better. Thanks for all you do.

So for the last two weeks we have forgotten to put our trash by the curb, but somehow it was being picked up we were thinking our neighbor was being kind and we wanted to do something for them so we rolled the cameras back. To our surprise our trash collector sees our can by the gate walks up looks in it and picked up or can. He could have kept going with an oh well but he didnt. This is what we call great customer service. Thank you for great service.

Not a big deal. I have a can left from the defunct J+J Co. They left with my money, I guess I bought the can. So I have my homeland and j+j. I used the j+j for yard debris. Homeland won’t empty it because it’s not in one of their cans. Petty Rule. Otherwise they are okay. I’ll get by, but I shouldn’t have to think twice when it comes to garbage.

Wish I could give a half of a star. Our pickup day is Thursday. Due to Thanksgiving, they “claimed” they were running a day behind which would leave our garbage to be picked up Friday. Well, low and behold the following Monday, our garbage was STILL at the curb. Called the office and they stated they would send someone that day. Tuesday arrived, garbage still there. When I called Tuesday morning, the associate on the phone was as unprofessional as ever! Stated we wouldn’t get a credit or anything. She didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience. Do NOT use this company. I will be shopping for another waste disposal company.

I switched from one other local service to Hometown Dusposal ams I can honestly say that I am truly thoroughly satisfied with all of the services that they have to offer. The drivers are prompt and professional. The ladies in the office are so pleasant and highly professional. Hometown Dispisal are an excellent example. They are the standard and the epitome of what service, quality and dedication is all about. Hometown Disposal has set the bar pretty high and I cannot fathom leaving them at any time.

Very service and bad business tactics. DO NOT USE THEM. They always send me my bill out late so they can get a late fee. You only pay every 3 months so if youre a few days late they get that late charge every time. Find a good service that charges monthly and does auto-draft which Hometown Disposal DOES NOT. Signed up with them 3 weeks ago and promised my trash would be picked up that Friday. They came and didnt pick up. I called them and was told they would come for evening pickup or that following Monday. Well needless to say they didnt come until I spoke to supervisor. Keep in mind I havent received my trash can yet as well. I refuse to pay for trash pickup when the people they have working for them are trash. The worst customer service ever!!! If I could them zero stars, I would. They claimed that were going pick up the bags from in front my house. I had 15 bags, they left 9 bags. They said that they would pick up 10 bags for FREE!!! How the hell does 15 minus 9 equal 10?! There workers are lazy. The owner has a nasty attitude and wanted to charge us for services we are supposed to receive free. DON T USE THEM AT ALL!!!!

Very disrespectful people I have ever met. They missed 2 weeks of picking up my trash and said it was because I had a car parked in my driveway.... not the curb.....but the so call secretary and so called manager said if I dont like it switch to someone else. I will be suing for my refund for the time they missed plus the rest of this month that I prepaided for. I will also call the news and the BBB about their actions. Please dont use these people. If I could have given them zero stars I would have. I guess stupid is forever. I will be outside Wednesday morning waiting on them so I can let them know how I truly feel about the lies they told to prevent from doing their job. Missed picking up my trash and then the next week (this week) after Christmas We put all our trash out and again, it didn’t get picked up. Secretary called dispatcher and he called out my address immediately. Dispatcher stated that he came out at 6:38am (lies) because if he did, he would’ve picked up my boxes that were out there the night before. They saw all my trash and decided to make up why they didn’t pick up. Called back and talked to owner. Very rude. Said he believes his workers over the customer because they never lie. Stated that I need to pay my bill on time and that reviews don’t hurt his business because he’s doing just FINE. Btw: My bill is at a zero balance. I owe them nothing and for him to say my credit history is not up to par is out of line! Owner doesn’t appreciate his customers. He likes to verbally throw jabs and think that his wealth will last forever, but I serve a God that is much powerful!!! Like I told him, his business will not prosper talking to his customers like that. He stated he’s been in business for years and my review wouldn’t hurt him. He stated that he’s not the only company out there that picks up trash and since I don’t have a contract, I can find somewhere else. I will definitely take that small tidbit of advice and do just that! The free month they offer is not worth the headache! Get a service that cares and not literally full of “trash”.Update: trash was picked up after phone call; however, the comments by the owner himself were very uncalled for and rude.Update: owner called me to tell me that my trash had been picked up and since I’m paid up until January he’s going to cancel my services because he said his driver said that my trash wasn’t out in time and that will make it better for everyone. I am a customer of this company and when I called to inquire about the billing I was treated rudely and very disrespectful. I was snapped to, cut off when speaking, told she did not want to hear what I was saying and she was not interested in any other company that I used as an example. I would never insult a client in such a way. My wife has spoken to them on various occasions and was quite pleased with the company however when you dont care about your customers that is sad. There is a way to speak to customers and apparently the owners dont train their frontline employees that.

Hometown Disposal are frauds. I canceled my service and was due the final month refund but they came up with an excuse not to pay me my refund. The receptionist said that they picked up fencing for me but didnt charge me The previous week but the owner of the company said that he would send my refund the previous week. They are a fraud because they dont always pick up your trash when scheduled and when they come the following week they dont pick up double trash because they missed your pick up the previous week. Do not spend your money with this company because they will try to take your money and not refund your money when you cancel. The owner has a nasty attitude and disposition and he tries to intimidate you when you speak to him but I was not intimidated. Hometown trash disposal company has terrible service. This is your warning.

Local Mom-and-Pop garbage disposal company in Memphis. Owned by Barry Thomas, servicing those living in Cordova, Eads, Millington, and different sections of Memphis. They offer a rate much lower than all other corporate companies, and offer more hands-on, individual service. They are quick to answer to the phone and offer assistance, and have expert, caring customer service. Its the obvious best choice in the Shelby/Fayette County area.

The garbage service man steals money from the company by picking up other peoples cans when individuals pays him cash onsite. Then the company keeps him on the same route with the same contacts so he is still take onsite cash money from the other contacts he has on his route (Pitney and Breckenwood) are just two of the others that I know of that he collects money from. If it wasnt for the driver the company would be great. But Im canceling service because of the way the company handled my complaint when turning in this drive to them. Hes still on route collecting two paychecks and the company knows of his theft.

Very very pleased with their services. Office staff is very polite and helpful. The guys picking up our trash are awesome and very hard working. Even emptied out the trash cans I still had from the othe crapy company (waste conection) 2 weeks in a row. Strongly recommend them. Thanx guys!
