I took my sons iPhone for a diagnostic and I was pleased with the experience. Even though I had to wait longer than I was told for a diagnostic, the customer service Mr. Justin provided made it all better! He was able to expedite the service after listening to my concern and I only had to wait a few minutes longer. He explained what was going on with the phone and encouraged me to return if the issue persists. Highly recommend!

I took my iPhone 7 here for a battery replacement. After promising it back by close of business the day I dropped it off they told me the tech did not get to it and it would be ready by end of the second day. At end of the second day they told me they didn’t have the part yet. I picked it up in-repaired after 2 days and took it to UBreakIFix. They completed the battery replacement in less than 3 hours and kept me updated with email status reports. I will never re-visit Tate Computer Systems, Inc.

While visiting family in Memphis, my keyboard stopped working. My battery was already damaged and so were my speakers. I reluctantly put my computer in the shop and prayed it would not be a long process. It did take a little over a week but that was because they were waiting on the parts to be delivered. I called daily and they were very transparent about everything.When I got my computer back, for a moment, I thought they gave me the wrong computer because it looked brand new! They replaced things I didnt ask them to and the price was still very reasonable. My Macbook pro works like a charm! I highly recommend Tates Computer for Mac computers!

The Apple Support advisor said that this was the Apple certified repair shop in Memphis. The advisor made an appointment for me, and therefore, on Monday, January 11, 2021, I went to get a new battery for my iPhone. I had to leave it overnight (high anxiety), but I could get the the next day.So Tuesday I went back and got my phone. I was happy! I saw a portable changer hanging on a display and bought it (less than $7). The employees were wonderful and I was singing their praises!Well, no more! The charger was not for an iPhone! No one told me that. I took it back on Thursday, January 14. I was told that they did not accept returns. No one told me that either, nor was it posted in the store. They told me it was the owners policy because of COVID that Tate was not accepting returns.I honestly couldnt believe it. I left my name and number for Sylvester Tate, the owner, to call me. The manager would not give me his number, which is understandable. He has not called me.I want a call back Mr. Tate. This policy is unethical, and I would really like to have a conversation with you. Please call me.I really dislike
I wish I could give zero stars. The front desk girls were nice but management policies are terrible. Took advantage of my money and had terrible customer retention policies. I sent it to apple and told them about the issue I was having with Tate and apple said this is not the first SUSPICIOUS issue they have had with Tate nor the first time a logic board has gone bad when Tate replaced it. I was informed by apple that their engineers will be investigating their store. Do not go here, wait to go to apple, save yourself 500$ And stress.

Very unprofessional. Takes a minimum of 3 days to fix your phone and they won’t give you a price until they diagnose it. I called plenty of other repair shops that gave me prices over the phone and told me my repair would take no more than an hour. Kim Harris was very aggressive on the phone and needs to work on her customer service skills. She speaks with a condescending tone.
I brought my 2020 macbook pro in with a burnt out LED in my screen and i received it back within 24 hours!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE. After making an appointment I arrived on November 30th Monday to drop off my phone for screen repair. I was told that I would get a phone call back during the day. I never got a phone call. I then called 4 days later and asked for an update on my phone. They said that they would notify me soon and that they were short on staff. I waited an additional 4 days (Tuesday afternoon) and was told they couldn’t repair my phone because it had find my iPhone loaded on it. I wasn’t told this when I initially made my appointment. Extremely displeased with this horrible business. I waited for over a week and they didn’t even bother to tell me if I hadn’t if called. IF YOU NEED A REPAIR CONSULT SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT BE HELPED

I was referred to Tate Computer by the Apple Technical Help Desk as my battery would no longer charge. I have been so pleased and happy with their service. They have done exactly what they said they would do and in a very prompt manner. Every person I dealt with could not have been nicer. Its been a pleasure to have received the prompt, curteous service that I experienced. I highly recommend Tate Computer for your technology requirements.I will certainly been using them in the future. A++ !!9/24/20 I just had to take my laptop to them AGAIN for Apple service. Tates service was just terrific, as it was the first time. One of the service assistants took over and did everything needed for me to get hooked back up on my computer after receiving a new mother-board. She did it in 5 minutes while it would have taken me a much longer time with lots of anxiety and frustration. To say again, I love their service.
I brought my macbook pro and they kept it for two weeks told me that my logic board needed to be replaced and said none of my old data could be transferred into a hard drive that I had to buy . I decided to take it to snappy computer since I was getting impatient and they told me that a logic board did not need to be replaced and they were able to save all my data. They wanted to charge me $400 for something it didn’t have . They also had terribly slow and unprofessional service. I will not be going here again.
I made an appointment thru apple to get my phone fixed that part of the screen wasn’t responding. They had my phone fixed in a hour. They were very understanding that i needed my phone for work and i wasn’t expecting to have to leave it. I waited in my car while they fixed it and they brought it out to me when they were finished. I totally recommend them!!

I scheduled an appointment through the Apple repair app two weeks ago. I went in today to get my screen fixed. They said the phone WOULD be ready today. I was just told that it would not be for at least a day!!!! Then they called to ask me to turn off FindMyiPhone but couldnt tell me how to do that on a computer when they didnt have the phone turned off. How can you be an Apple Certified Dealer and NOT be able to tell your customers what to do. They also quoted a price that is $40 higher than what it said it would be on the Apple Repair app! GO to a different authorized dealer, NOT Tate.

I was told by Apple to take my MacBook Pro 2020 to this business to be checked out to see if the damage would be covered or not. Upon arriving at Tate computer systems I was told by “JJ”, an employee there, they would have to send my MacBook off to Apple so they could look at it themselves to see if it would be covered because they were not sure. I was also told I would be contacted by someone within 3-5 or up to two weeks. Here it is over two weeks and I decided to call only to find out my MacBook has just been sitting at Tate all of this time and “they needed consent to send it off”. Consent is what I gave when I left it with them. If they needed my consent why did no one contact me? I left my number and email with them so that does not make any sense. Also, I saw on the paper they gave me after leaving my MacBook with them that if they had it for 30 days I would forfeit my rights to it. That sounds exactly like what they were trying to do! Please DO NOT take any of your belongings to them! They’re just a bunch of crooks who tried to charge me $590 after the fact. Trust me you’re better off going somewhere else! Read the reviews people because I wish I would have listened! They will never get any business from me ever again!

Was looking forward to patronizing a black owned business. Front desk acted like I was more of a bother. Not friendly at all. Came in this morning to drop off my sons laptop for diagnostic check . I approached the front desk to explain that I’d booked online but needed to drop my computer off earlier then my appointment time front desk said that was fine and to fill out the from. Did that and I saw I couldn’t wait any longer to drop it off before work. So I said I’ll be back front was like ok. At noon I called and asked how long would the wait be. Front desk says: oh I can’t tell we’re busy and I can’t guarantee that a tech can get to it today I said that’s fine I’d just like to drop it off to get the diagnostic done I can pick it up later still no answer so I repeated my answer and young lady says oh maybe 10-20 mins to drop it off. So did a search and found cooper systems was way friendlier and their front desk asked what issues I was having and their actually cheaper. My opinion is in business you never but someone on your front line that could careless about potential clients because it appears that’s what your business is about.
I had a wonderful experience. The customer service is exceptional. The receptionist, Tiffany was attentive and exemplified the company well.
I wish I had more positive things to say but I do not. I chose this spot from an Apple recommendation due to my device being outdated and also because I saw it was BO. A simple trackpad fix has appeared to turn into me purchasing a completely new system. I came in with one issue, the trackpad not working properly, I receive a call after diagnostics stating yes the trackpad is the issue. I pay for the $100 fee of it being out of warranty plus the price of replacement. Once “fixed” I receive my device back and it no longer charges, the fans are extremely loud, and there’s a strange eject button showing in the toolbar. I called to inform of the new issue that was not present prior to bringing my device in and I’m told to bring it back in. Mind you, I’m 3+hours away so it was a feat. Long story short after returning my device a second time to get the issue repaired I got nowhere. I feel there was a major lack of communication and concern for correcting an issue that was clearly made by the technician. This isn’t a great way to handle business and I am highly disappointed in this location as well as Apple for sending me in this direction.
I have been doing business with this company for years and will continue to do so. The customer service is second to none and the technicians are the most knowledgeable people I know. Very good prices to go along with great products and services.
If I could have left zero starts I would have. This company kept my phone for 8 days and still did not fix my phone. Their attitude was terrible and the lies they would tell you. They didn’t keep a record of when I called or when they called me so we were always back and forth. Bad experience. I only went there because Apple recommended them because I never heard of the company before but I did let Apple know how I was treated at this company.Long story short I got a brand new phone delivered to me from my carrier on May 9 and I’m happy 😃Don’t take your phone to these people period
I took in a 2011 Mac that was running very slow. Apple couldn’t fix it, so they referred me to Tate Computer Services. Raymond was so helpful with everything. Very fair prices and very quick service. Will definitely be back in the future
I brought in my computer on Monday. The rep said it would take about 2 days to upgrade my computer. I get a call from him on Tuesday morning to say my computer was ready for pickup. I was impressed how quick with the turn around was. The staff is extremely friendly and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend Tate Computers.

Was told from Apple that there was nothing they could do for my 7 year Mac desktop. It crashed after an update and was told I need a new one. I took my chances with Tate Computer Systems and dropped off my desktop to Raymond. He definitely knows his stuff! Not only did he fix my desktop in 1 day, he replaced it with a much faster hard drive and now it is even faster than when I bought it brand new. I would definitely recommend.

I was facing a reboot loop (software) issue which Apple was unable to repair. I brought my iPhone into Tates and within 20 minutes they were able to reactivate and solve the software glitch and all for free! If you need any sort of help head to Tates. A thousand times better than any of those big tech retail stores e.g. Geek Squad. Wow!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I called to get info and the guy couldn’t give me any, so I said I would just come up there. I get there and they tell me I have to make an appointment. I didn’t need a diagnosis of what was wrong, just order me a phone battery and let me come back for you to install it. Don’t complicate things....

I dropped it off at Tate Computer Systems thinking it would take a while to repair. This was not the case at all. They were done installing the hard drive the same day actually in less than an hour. I dropped off my computer Thursday afternoon. It was an 11 year old MacBook Pro. Eric called me within 30 minutes with the problem solved. He ordered the parts and had it fixed by Monday. Great service, very pleasant to deal with. I will definitely return to them for future business.
I was having trouble with the HDMI port on my Mac, went to Tate since they are an Apple authorized repair location. Eric was my technician and he immediately diagnosed the issue, notified me of the results, and also cleaned up the debris that was on my Mac. And he did all of this and my Mac was available for pick-up before I expected.Great work, wonderful customer service, and nice location. I cant say enough good things about Eric and Tate Computers. Ill be a return customer without a doubt.

I went in with a slow Mac desktop. Raymond quickly diagnosed it and gave me a good option to fix. I left the unit with him and he gave me good updates and I never felt like I didnt know what was going on. Not only did Cassell fix my old standby, but he also gave me some invaluable information to keep it running in great shape.Then a few weeks later I brought in a box set of CDs that I could not seem to download. That also was done with ease. Why would I go to another place, when these guys are knowledgeable, quick, and reasonably priced? And did I say I bought a refurbished 13-inch? Yeah, I did.Thanks, guys.

I had the worst experience ever! I was recommended by apple to go to this place.. NEVER AGAIN! I went in for a cracked screen. Everything on my phone still working before I walked in. Once they were done they said my home button or my front camera was no longer working! HOW?????!!!! Everything was fine until I walked in there .. smh! Saying something about my motherboard. Went to apple the next day and didn’t have not one problem!!!! I wouldn’t recommend this place to ANYONE!!!!!

When the graphics on my Mac Mini went out recently I searched the web for local Mac repair & service options. I decided on Tate Computer Systems due to positive reviews and close proximity. I took my Mini into the shop and was greeted by Ray. I explained what my problem and symptoms were and he took it in to do a systems check. The next day he called and said my graphics card was fried and needed to be replaced. However, the cost of replacement parts was almost equal to buying a new unit and then I would still have a five year old system with old technology. (Hard disc drive vs modern solid state drive with latest ops system)After looking at my options of repair or replacing my five year old Mini I decided on replacing with new.So now I have a nice iMac with Mojave ops system, 21 inch monitor and a very clean desk. It’s amazing how cluttered a desk can get after 21 years of four PCs and three Mack Minis. I must have gotten rid of all least three power cords and three low voltage power adaptors.I really enjoyed talking with Ray and would highly recommend taking your computer problems in to Tate Computer Services. They will do you right with either you Mac or PC.
I am writing this with the hopes my issue will be resolved. I paid to have information transferred to a computer and found upon receiving my new device that most of the data was missing. Their office is closed over the weekend and I have no way of contacting their office till Monday. I will update this review as I try to get my data back and or the final result. The staff were really helpful and I am hoping this was an oversight. Rating 1 Star. 6/30 update we returned the device and were able to get our lost data. I would recommend writing your name and labeling any chargers or equipment you leave to get fixed. Raymond was a huge help through the entire ordeal. They do good work here.

Very nice, and very helpful, extremely fast! I work from home and on my laptop everyday so I needed my laptop back very fast. Apple wanted to charge me $500+ to fix my problem I had with laptop and send it off for like 3 weeks. Went into Tate Computer Systems, told me they could fix it for $190 I WAS THRILLED!! I didn’t want to get a new laptop because I love mine so much! So they helped me out and I will continue to go to Tates for anything I need. Thanks y’all!!
I have taken two different MacBook Pros there to be worked on, and my wife took hers there yesterday. Im overdue for a positive review of Tate. Each time we have visited them, their service has been fast, professional, and more affordable than the Apple Store. They even advised me on how to save money on one of my repairs, even though it meant making less money off of me.

I was very pleased with the service at Tate Computers. I brought my MacBook Pro in with a broken hard drive, they replaced the hard drive and gave me my computer back working the same day. It works like brand new and it cost me around $160, which is better than paying $600-1500 for a new laptop.

This was the best experience! I had taken my MacBook Pro to the Apple Store originally because my computer would not boot up. The Apple Store rep told me that he thought it might need a new Retina display and that they recommended sending it off for $280 to get it repaired, their flat rate method. He never took the time to do a more thorough investigation other than to try to mirror it onto another monitor. Apparently Apple doesnt touch helping get your data off, so they recommended Tate Computers and I am so glad because Tate Computers not only retrieved my data the same day but also fixed the computer and had it ready to go when I picked it up! It didnt need a new Retina display as Apple suggested, it only needed a reboot of the NVRAM. Tate Computers saved me money on a repair that wasnt even necessary! Tate Computers was also able to get this done quicker than Computer Labs of Memphis could and for half the price. Highly recommend them! Will be a future customer!

Tate Computers is banking on the common stereotype that most Mac owners dont know anything about computers. They routinely misdiagnose problems on purpose so they can get more money out of their customers.I took my laptop to them. They ran diagnostics on my hard drive (which they charged for diagnostics) and determined that the logic board must be bad (because the hard drive was good). They didnt run any diagnostics on the Logic Board. They rang up an estimate for $780 on a new logic board and installation (because the model is old -- A1286). As someone who has had far more work (than a mere motherboard replacement) done on a laptop without paying more than $120, I was skeptical. I decided to get a second opinion.I took my laptop to Snappy Computer Repair (In Bartlett), they ran diagnostics on all the components (for free) and found that my hard drive and logic board were just fine. The problem was actually with the top cover. :: The Original Problem :: ***All type characters were appearing as if the shift key was being held down even though the keyboard was clean***Snappy Computers accurately diagnosed the problem (FOR FREE) and replaced the top cover. I ended up paying $50 for the part and about $40 in labor.If I had continued with Tate, I wouldve dropped $780 for a new logic board and installation and my laptop would still be malfunctioning.Only go to Tate Computers if you enjoy wasting money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He helped me make the best decision for me. They worked quickly to transfer my files to an external until I was able to get a replacement computer.

I waited 3 days for an Apple appointment, for them to tell me that I would have to go to an authorized dealer to get my Macbook Pro repaired. I dropped my computer at TCS and in two business days my laptop was repaired. Excellent service, and very knowledgeable. Will just go straight here for my computer needs.

A big thank you to the folks at Tate Computer Systems for getting my iMac back up and running after the High Sierras latest update left me with a few corrupted files making it impossible to start up. Whats more they were able to do it while I waited! Unheard of these days!I had tried everything mentioned on the internet but nothing worked.
Casel is very knowledgable of my Mac Book Pro. He did a Great Job analysis the problem and came up with a solution. It worked very well . I AM VERY GRATEFUL.

Go to apple to get your stuff fixed..... this place was a NIGHTMARE. They replace macpro batteries for the same price as apple anyway so just go to apple. Tates sells faulty 3rd party parts for the same price. I originally went here 3 months ago for a new battery, they replaced it and it died 3 months later. Went to apple after I started having problems, because tates was closed where they ran the tests in front of me and was told it was a 3rd party battery and not good. Went back to tates and had changed again and i was told it was fixed. I was a little weary, so i went back to my local apple store again to make sure everything was good. Well surprise it wasnt- was given a faulty part again. When I had left Tates and drove to the apple store, which is about a 10 minute drive- the computer had DIED. Was practically fully charged when i left tates. Was told at apple they gave me ANOTHER bad 3rd party battery, so I called tates to explain the situation and they told me to come back and let them run some tests and that it wasnt the battery. I told them after 2 chances I just wanted my money back. They proceeded to argue and tell me its not the battery apple doesnt know what theyre talking about. So i said so youre telling me the company that manufactures the product doesnt know what theyre talking about when it comes to their parts? he proceeded to tell me he couldnt fix it if I didnt bring it in. Apple also told me that tates didnt log ANY of the battery replacements they had done on my computer, which they should be doing if they are apple certified. It informs apple of any outsider repairs done on any device. Apple put their own battery in my computer ( i made sure it was done in front of me)and the test came back that the battery worked, unlike the 3rd party battery I got from tates. Because of they didnt log any of this with apple I couldnt take back the faulty battery to tates, along with the new apple one to show them it was THEIR battery. The man on the phone called me again and said we dont log any obsolete repairs, i understand youre at apple so youre going to believe whatever they tell you. Might I add, fixing a battery is not obsolete, its one of the simplest repairs for a mac. After 3 hours in the apple store and many trips to Tates, Apple felt so bad about the situation and how messed up it was that THEY GAVE ME MY NEW BATTERY FOR FREE and said they are looking into the matter. Will never go back to tates, terrible and rude customer service and faulty parts. Im all about supporting local businesses and all but these people just want your money and were not helpful. #applecustomer4life

Sucky beyond belief.I went in for a minor issue--laptop not charging, and I already knew that it was either the cord or the brick, and the guy, who was just lounging, nobody else there, adn not doing any work either, said it would take 24-48 hours! The only reason I went there is becasue the APple store is always crowded and you have to make an appointment etc., and tyhis place is usually empty. I figured maybe five minutes to diagnose, a new cord/brick/both (computer under warranty), and off I go. But no such luck.I have been there a few other times, and there was a different employee there, so it may be employee dependent.Lesson learned.
The team recovered my data and installed a new HD in my Imac in 24 hours. Nicely done. Thanks.
