Who knew we could feed giraffe on Long Island???? Although its about $22 to get in pp, it is really well worth it! We go to all the Zoos and Aquarium s, this was really a lot of fun! Up and close to Zebras, spider monkeys, having birds fly to you and hand feeding them...it was such a great day! Really, it is so worth it! And to hand feed the Giraffe, it brings out the kid in you! Plenty of umbrellas tables for eating and a good food area serving hot dogs, burgers and fries and chicken fingers.(dont get the pizza)..there is a ton to eat and do!
What a fun place!!!!! Whoever came up with this idea needs a medal!!!!! Went there on a weekend, the place was packed, but even so it wasnt crowded, the farm is pretty big and the weekend ticket includes almost all of the attractions and shows, except for the pony ride and feed for the animals. Their Landing birds part was absolutely endearing with those little parrots landing right on your head to enjoy the food. My daughter loved feeding animals( giraffes, Brahman cattle, goats, sheep, miniature cows, miniature horses, ponies, zebras, monkeys),loved her pony ride and the Texan Family show, that included dog show and we didnt even do a few other things, like the hay ride, puppet show, magician show and painting pumpkins, which is definitely something for the next time. The only downside is okay food, which is overpriced, but thats how it usually is in any place of fun.
Nice little farm. Great fun for kids. I feel like the farm had a lot more to it but seems like part of the farm was closed. The pony ride was good fun. A little rushed because the pony wanted to walk pretty fast but the kids still enjoyed it. The monkeys, lemurs and birds were fun to watch and interact with. All in all the kids loved it. Good for a day visit 👍
Amazing place for both the kids and the parents. This farm really allows you to interact with the animals. You are able to feed them and even have your child enjoy a small pony ride. There are many playgrounds that the little ones can run around and play in as well. Inside, they have a giraffe where they allow every individual to freely feed it a slice of carrot. Only downside is that many parts of the farm were closed when we went. We were unable to see the magic show and none of the food stands were open. And a word of advise before going is to make sure you bring cash because they do not accept credit cards. But overall, a great place to take the kids!
The only thing is it is overpriced, but there are many options for kids and family fun, including hay ride, pony rides, can feed parrots goats cows and more, a good zoo with giraffes and zebras and camels; different playgrounds and big houses for pretend play, kids shoes and entertainment. But I wish at least for food they wouldnt only ask for cash which comes out with tax. What theyre selling is overpriced
Great experience for kids with lots of animals, train ride, pony ride. You can feed Giraffe and take a picture. Lots of other exotic animals. Though I pity these animals living so far away from their natural wild habitat. Lots of play areas for kids to explore. They have light snacks available in the farm. Carry your own.
The farm itself is well done and the entertainment is family friendly. The reason for the 1 start review is the petting zoo. I have seen larger enclosures at slaughter houses. Most of the larger animals, that are accustomed to roaming free for miles and miles are confined to a few hundred square feet( as shown in the pictures). The zebra looked sick and sad. Extremely inhumane. There is no reason this place should have a petting zoo.
Had fun there. Great place to visit and take the kids. Had alot there for kids to see and do. Rides, food, and little farmers market that was priced pretty good. So definitely recommend taking the little ones there to see some of the animals and have fun. They also have a pretty nice playground there with swings and slides. Reasonably priced and wasnt too crowded.
Good place.. fees are 23 dollars per person no matter the age....not a bad farm.. has 15 animals or so.... in order to feed animals u have to pay and buy their food and feed them...riding the train has a separate cost.. feeding the parrots you have to buy their food as well.. but still not a bad bad place...
This place is quite the hidden gem! We had no clue this was so close and it was such a fun trip out of the house. Great for families and young children. Feeding the giraffes was so cool.
An impressive amount of highly interactive and entertaining activities for kids and adults alike. Feed goats, hold birds, watch little monkeys play! Theres food, rides (appropriate for small children), playgrounds, a seasonal pumpkin patch, etc. This is a relatively inexpensive and really enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. Clean space, friendly staff, very good value.
Please educate yourselves on how exotic animals live in the wild before you spend $70 to see these exploited animals. There is nothing cute or fun about feeding giraffes next to a sign that says do not feed giraffe seeing depressed animals is not my idea of a fun day out for my daughter. If you want to show your child animals, look up farm sanctuaries that actually rescue animals and are concerned with the welfare of animals.
Omg what an amazing new experience! This is a great place for families, couples, friends and of course children. The price for the ticket is good and worth it! You don’t have to be a kid to come here lol. I am 26 and I went here with two of my friends. I haven’t been here since I was 4 years old so of course I don’t remember what it was like. So many animals and so many fun things to do here! My concern was a limit with the food lol. So many people feed them that I wonder if it can make them sick from over eating. A lot of the workers were nice and friendly, very welcoming. I liked the gift shops and the farmer’s market was great. My only complaint is a young woman working the register at the farmer’s market was rude and rushed. I definitely will be back!
The deli food is very good. Sushi, too. Nice to eat outside on lunch hour. The grocery store has wonderful seedless black raspberry jelly and fabulous apple pie. Ill never bake one again! Cashiere seemed distracted and was rough with my purchases. She overcharged on the bags and forgot to give me my receipt. Took off one star for that. Perhaps it is just a sign of the times...The petting farm was well attended by lots of families. The gift shop has some fun holiday decorations and garden supplies.
My kids spent amazing day and enjoyed their day with animals, I wish we could go into the fields and walk through the plants
This place was recommended to me by my coworker and I couldnt agree more. I took my 3yr old daughter and she absolutely loved it. She was afraid to feed the animals but she had fun. Also they dont accept credit cards or debit cards, just bring cash only. They have ATMs available. This farm is great for children.
The birds are very beautiful, but well-fed. Better to come to the opening when they are still hungry.
Price of admission to the petting zoo was about $24. A handful of food was $0.25 from a quarter-operated machine. Here, there are farm animals as well as some exotic animals. The disappointing part was the zebras which looked bored and sad. Everything else was fantastic. The cows were friendly and loved eating out of hands. The camels did not eat out of hands but really enjoyed getting scratched through the wire fence. The goats were extremely sociable and a few could not get enough attention. I highly recommend seeing the goats. The bird houses were also very much fun since the birds sat on people holding purchased food sticks. They were comfortable with people. Some animals could not be pet like the monkeys and lemurs. There were food options but I didnt eat any of it.
Awesome!!!! What a great time the kids and I had!! The petting/feeding zoo was fun and open with no restrictions other than socially distancing. They had hand wash and sanitizing stations everywhere! The aviary was fantastic the birds eat from your hands, land on your head, shoulders and are pretty friendly although the birds don’t let you let them. They also had like a mini zoo with camels, zebras, giraffes, Brahma bulls, etc. All the staff were very friendly and hospitable. We had a fantastic time. Would highly recommend for people with small children. Oh and they have pony rides!!
A lovely place to visit with your kids. My son was soo happy to see so many dofferent animals in real. The best part was to pet the animals.
They have a nice animal farm, any plenty of places to play for the kids. The pricing wasnt that bad...but they charge quite a bit if you want to feed the animals. Not that different than anywhere else though. The food line was huge, could bring cooler and eat first. It is not too far from the west/east as its in Melville. We had a really nice day there! No fees for parking!
Great place!! Great Farm too!!Spend a wonderful day with my familyMy son enjoyed fed the animals a bucket of animal food costs around $6 and they offer milk bottles to fed the goats for $3 don’t forget the pony ride costs $5 and change, train ride it’s the same price too and adults can ride too!Snacks are available too, they have hot dogs, fries and much more.Hay rides, pumpkin picking and more fall treats are soon available. There is also a small shop in the front so you can take a souvenir.Be aware some animals like the giraffes are notAvailable in colder months.Don’t hesitate visiting this place!!
Amazing experience with the family. We celebrated my sons 3yr old birthday. He got to ride a pony, feed a giraffe, enjoy a magic show, feed goats, birds, ride a train, and eat his birthday cake! Definitely recommend it. Bring lots of cash, no credit cards accepted. Lots of space for social distancing and the place is kept very clean with lots of hand washing/sanitizer stations.
Great place to take the family for pumpkin picking during the season. Off-season the farm is open to see animals and take part in feeding them, there is an area for birds. One can go in and interact and feed the birds. The animal foods are at a minimal cost or you can choose to get a small bucket with seeds, and milk bottles to feed the animals appropriately...There are several play areas for children, a hayride, an area for concerts and a large food court area. The farm also has a large green house to get in season plants for sale and lastly a store to purchase farm made items like pies, ground foods, jams, honey, peanut and almond butters. Give it a try! The kids will love it!
VERY VERY EXPENSIVE, you pay $33 admission per person regardless child, baby, adult… and nothing is included, pony rides are discontinued, bottle feeding (the goats) discontinued and replaced with regular expensive feed, everything inside you pay for including the feed, attractions end almost immediately you realize there is nothing to do.. sucks big time. Fix your prices… never again.
We went yesterday with our one year old and this will definitely be a yearly tradition. The farm is packed with so many fun activities for kids of all ages. The petting zoo stands out the most in my opinion. There are so many animals and most of them can be fed. The cages are spaced out appropriately too which makes it easier for social distancing. They have a ton of park areas for smaller kids, my daughter loved that most 🤦♀️Tons of pumpkins to choose fromI was also impressed with the wide range of fall foods and snacks. They had a magician, hay ride, train,Pony rides, and a corn maze.Overall a great time and many fun things to do.
Amazing farm want to go there again and again
White Post Farms is amazing! My family and I went there on a quick decision and we loved every moment of it. I have two children, 4 and 2 years of age and they had a great time. There are several different types of farm animals that they can feed and pet.A singing chicken show and other activities as well such as pony ride and hay rides. I will say this about the pony rides, the cost is $6 per token, which is per child; what I didn’t like was that 1- its a quick ride due to the waking distance of the path and 2- the staff members walking the ponies walk at a faster than normal pace and when you speak to them they do not acknowledge you. The ride lasts between 1-2 minutes for those $6 per child and for that I removed 1 star from my review. Theres a pumpkin patch where you can take beautiful photos and even purchase! Also, there are several play areas with slides and little shacks to play in. On the other end of the farm, there is a corn field but we didnt make it there.Overall we are very satisfied with our visit and would 100% recommend to others!
Quaint farm.. wonderful setup of animals with reasonable admission price. Inside the train ride was great and my daughter enjoyed feeding the goats, it was a great variety of animals to feed. Wished I would have shopped in the farmers market on the way out but my baby was tired.
This place is cool but a complete rip off. Weve been going here a few times a year for a while now but at this point its not even worth it. I get that you need to make money but the fact that going here for a few hours costs a few hundred dollars for a family of four is just ridiculous. Not only do you have to pay 150 just to get through the gate but you wind up spending so much more once you get in, and of course everything inside has to be cash to keep it under the table. This year was disappointing they had no bounce houses or any fun activities for the kids just a bunch of shows which was a bummer. What kid wants to sit through shows they want to play. Its a nice place but definitely not worth the insane amount of money they charge for everything. Maybe include the horse ride, train ride ( which actually wasnt even working when we went ) & hayride and maybe it would be a little more worth it.
I want to start off by saying I felt racially profiled from when I walked in the farm and wanted to hand in my tickets.I want to begin by saying my son was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, meaning a seizure can happen at any time.we are a family of 5 so this caused for our other children to get scared.Soso I doctor recommended a service animal. To make a long story short this means our animal is able to come with us anywhere and alert the proper people when something happens.by far the experience here was disgusting! the security stopped us we gave all the proper paperwork.then he had the audacity to ask us why is the dog at service which is against the law.we went on to try and enjoy our day .the First Lady that took out tickets had an attitude once she seen the dog.we end up bumping into her again were she got real nasty telling us we were not allowed by the animals.we explained that they told us up front if we held the animals we should be okay.she came back with a man who pointed in my husbands face yellinh and screaming in front of my son.if you have children with special needs I advise you this is NOT THE FARM FROM U!
Wonderful place for children! Just make sure to bring cash as you can only pay with cash for things such as pony rides and feeding the parakeets. In addition to purchasing petting zoo food you can purchase bottles of milk to feed the animals with.
Great farm they have here love all the animals, specially the bird exhibition.
Came in 2019 and loved it will be back this year!
Worth the money! This is a nice place for kids. All of the staffs is very accommodating and nice!
This farm had a lot of a different animals including giraffes, turkeys, zebras, goats and cows. I was pleased with the clean bathrooms. They even have a small market selling fresh fruit and vegetables. You can also pick up a lot of knickknacks and decorations for the fall like pumpkins decorations etc. The farm also had food for purchase such ad pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets and fries. While it was a fun day to spend with the family they really need to do something about the bees! They were everywhere and made it difficult to eat lunch especially if you ate sitting by the train ride.
The best farm I have ever been.
White post are highly recommended.Amazing place to take the kids, even though its packed but its outside so you have enough of social distancing.Everybody must ware mask and they really make sure everyone is warming it all the way included covering your nose.Great zoo for this kids .
Wonderful for children. They get to feed animals including 2 Giraffes. They have a Bird Sanctuary, you are able to go inside, the birds land on you and you can feed them. They have an assortment of animals, and also have pony rides, and a childrens train ride. You can buy food and refreshments and you can buy fresh produce and bakery goods.(they are a little pricey, but quality is excellent)Free Parking, its a great day for the family.Ticket prices for adults run around $25, which includes the tax.
Yes my kids pet a giraffe. Yes its really cool and there is a lot to see and do.... but.... it is a money pit. EVERYTHING a la carte. You want to feed the birds.. 2 kids ten bucks. You want to feed the goats... ten bucks. You want a pony ride? Pony up and pay. Admission is pricey and gets you in, nothing more. Family of four, feeding birds and goats, your in about $125 or so. Nice and clean, lots of well cared for animals, but your gonna pay.
Great selection of fresh vegetables and locally grown produce, Sushi chef is very good and creates excellent quick take out sushi plates daily!
The farm is a nice size not to big nore to small perfect for small kids under the age of 10. Also they have plenty on sanitation stations and hand washing stations. Loved it. I came with 4 kids ages between 7 month - 5 years of age and they all had a great time. I will keep on coming with my family.
It was a great family friendly environment with lots of animal accessibility for the little ones in our family. A pleasantly unexpected surprise!
It is very nice for the kids. However, there were not many animals. The best one was the aviaries. My daugther was a bit disappointed, because as its eastern week she was expecting to see and pet the bunnies. And I was disappointed because the giraffes were not out, and the observatory was close. They should make it that even if they are not going out (because of the weather, they said it was too cold) it should be glass windows so at least people can see them. I know a lot of people were sad they didnt get to see the giraffes which is one of the bigger attractions they have. Maybe I will give it another try by the end of summer, beginning of fall.
Kids loves this place and wanted to visit again. Kids enjoyed a lot.
A nice petting zoo in part of Long Island thats great for kids that are young. There are additional costs for pony rides and food for parakeets. For the most part you can finish the whole area visit in about 3 hours give or take. Overall the places run very safely and is enjoyable for family looking for a quick farm adventure.
The place is good for kids. Your kids will have feeding food to animals. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is the way I feel about animals behind bars. It was my family who forced me there. My 8 years old son however had a blast.
Beautiful little farm.. lots to see and do.. very expensive for what you get in my opinion. And you have to pay for everything once you are in.
Entrance fee is $22 which include just to enter it supposed to include train ride( which was literally 2 mins just goes in circle) and feeding the animals ( one bucket food wouldn’t hurt to provide free)
I’m giving two stars because they made me pay a 34 dollar entree for my two year old immobile daughter with special needs who literally isn’t leaving her stroller, isn’t going to touch or feed the animals. I just think that’s disgusting and money hungry to charge for children who are too young to participate.
Charges $40 per person, regardless of age or time. Went with family about an hour before they closed and was told we still had to pay full price.. huhhh? Website information is totally different than whats offered when you arrive. Save yourself the trouble and drive another minute to Schmitts Farms in Melville..
Great place to bring family the kids. Definitely enjoyed all the animals. Feeding the animals was great for the kids and social distances is being implemented. Alot of the stores with in the farm are close so the full experience is unavailable however it was great.
I loved it! What a great place to bring the family! I went to the White Post Farm with my daughters and grandkids. We had a blast! We had so much fun feeding the goats, cows, monkeys and even giraffes! My daughter really enjoyed feeding the giraffes! I would definitely recommend that everyone, young and old, visit the White Post Farm! You will not be disappointed! This was my first time there and I am looking forward to going back again!
Nice but pricey.
Love white post farms. My kids enjoy feeding the animals, the train ride, pony and giraffes (hi patches 👋). Youre gonna want to bring change or small bills to feed machine. Weve never had lunch here, just bring our own snacks & water.
Picked up some of their fresh baked breads. Pumpkin, apple and banana breads.
Perfect farm day! Highly recommend going at opening time with reservation. Towards midday the line will be endless regardless having a reservation 🙌🏽 we arrived at 1030am no line just straight in and had a blast till 1pm👍🏼
I don’t even know where to begin this farm is beyond amazing! When we were greeted it was so warm and friendly. They made my daughters first birthday so great! They gave her a pale to feed the goats and cows. They let you keep it and it’s cute if you wash it out you can use it for the beach! There was a baby lamb born an hour before we got there! Which was so cool!! They told us when we first got there so we could go see it! We went into the bird room and they gave us a stick with bird food on it so they would fly onto us and eat it. The staff and I believe the owner that we spoke to was so friendly and wonderful! I raved about it for days after! We will be visiting again!!A++++
Always a fun experience!! Dont know anywhere else locally where you can feed/pet giraffes and birds in one place 😍!!
I have been to white Post Farms several times and enjoy it everytime... everything is so clean the animals are well cared for its a wonderful day out... thank you White Post Farms 🚜🐒🦓🐷🐮🐫🐏🦒🐰
Feed a giraffe. Take pony rides. Feed goats . Ride the trolley. Great day out . Grandparents had a blast with my daughter. Great memories. Best to go right when they open. To avoid crowd surges.
Best farm animal experience in NYC/ Long Island area! Top quality general store and fresh market with wide range of food (I mean fresh sushi on a Farm!? How awesome!) Came for Easter event--well organized with phenomenal photo ops with a live rabbit and Easter bunny. Huge playground was a massive hit with my 5 and 7 yr old. Will return for future events for certain!
Love the place very big very nice for kids. Where they can improve is the party time frame its very small even though they charge a little bit more make it 3 hours. Like that you dont feel that youre running to do everything
Such an amazing place for children.....
Great animal farm and great baked goods. Apple crumb is my recommendation. Animals are well cared for. Lots of entertainment. And in these times very clean and staff was out disinfecting the grounds. It is pricey... $60 for 1 adult and 1 child.
Really cool farm. It is a bit on the expensive side $30 per person, but its actually worth it. They have very exotic animals from giraffes to zebras and more common animals like goats and sheeps that you can pet/feed. All the attractions are free the only thing you have to pay for is if you want to feed the animals.
Love this place!!! My kids loved it
SPECTACULAR. The downside is that the smallest things are super expensive. Like 2 bird feeding is $5 each looks like its worth a dollar. But otherwise, was a beautiful experience!
So many animals! Its all so fun. They have Giraffes!Great place, definitely go!
Not so much varieties of animals. The place is small and a little bit stinky. Its pricy too and the train ride for kids is just so short. The bird cage is fun. They have mini-houses on display that are really cute for picture or photography. Since the place is small, you can tour the whole place in less than an hour.
Great place to take the kids all age. The kids and i had a wonderful experience especially with the birds.
My family and I had so much fun at this place. It has so many interesting things to do and one thing that really surprise was that you can actually get to feed the giraffe!! Its also cute that you can bottle feed animals, although most of the animals that came for the bottle were adults instead of the babies. There are also lots of cute shows and some fun ride! Also you get to be in the large bird cage with the birds and you can also feed them. Some of them would fly to you if they feel comfortable around you! It’s really good experience for kids.
Farm has jacked up its admission prices and it’s become sooo soo crowded, just not as enjoyable as it used to me, esp for what they are charging now
My two year old loved it! But just as an fyi everything is extra once inside. The initial fee is just the entrance fee.Giraffe feeding is included.
Wonderful place! Giraffe is awesome 🥰
Kids love it, bottom line. Cool animals to pet and feed, plenty of space to roam. Parties, rides etc. Yes animals are in tight quarters but seem well taken care of. One wish is that they could have a sprinkler area for kiddos for days like the one we went. Theres no place to cool off... My toddler was about to use the koi pool 🙈🤯 be prepared to shed some cash...
Place definitely has some unique animals that you can get real close to! The reason for the few stars are for these reasons: the staff was extremely rude! They harassed us and a few others over masks even after they were told medical exemption/ vaccinated. One man literally followed us multiple times! The place is outdoors. Get with the rest of Suffolk county! Also, there was hardly any food items for purchase so on a hot day you can’t make it too long of a day there.
Had a great time with my daughter
Its a wonderful place to take your kids oe have a party. staff is wonderful. Many animals in the farm. The only thing is that the party event time its very short everything goes too quick I think they should prolong the time even if they charge a little bit extra..
This was a great place to bring my daughter, she had a great time seeing and feeding all of the animals. She especially loved the Giraffe encounter
Nice place to enjoy fall fun not too far fron NYC. Kids have a lot of fun with farm animals and birds interactions.
Price was little high $30 a person considering not everything was open ( covid ). However seeing and feeding the animals with the kids is always a experience. Thanks for great time
Beautiful place animals where awesome parking was great clean as you can get with animals kids had fun
Love the place nice for the childrens
Lots to do for kids, although we are not thrilled about animals kept in cages. you can feed Patches the giraffe some carrots. cute. they have good playgrounds, wish they had sprinkles area for children for when it gets hot.
Great place to take kids or if youre an animal lover. Plenty of animals to fed from goats, birds, monkeys, Lamars, camels, cattle and Giraffes. Theres also poneys to ride. The farmers market is great to, we got banana bread which was delicious and sweet corn we grilled up. Fall has great fall activities and festivals. Being outdoors is a huge plus especially during this time of Covid. Loads of fun would recommend!!
It is a good place to visit with the whole family, good food, good shows, the farm is very clean and very organized. I like it.
I visited the Farm when it was pumpkin picking season. The admission price was definitely worth it. My family had a blast here. We were able to visit the Zoo, pumpkin pick, get food and catch a show. Highly recommend this place to anyone with children. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly.
My 3 year old & 14 year old loved this farm. They had farm animals & exotic animals, i couldnt believe there were camels, monkeys, & zebras & more. You can feed the farm animals & give them a bottle of milk. It has a great play area for toddlers. Pony ride & a train ride. My kids loved the magic show & were very entertained. We enjoyed visiting this farm.
It is so beaitifull, and is good for all ages,,you must go there..
