The people that work here are amazing. They are dedicated and very caring for all their patients. I am so grateful our local wildlife have such an awesome place and caring people to take care of them when needed. ❤❤❤
This facility allows 24 hour drop offs of any injured or misplaced animal. The intake is contactless and the animals are attended to asap. The staff is friendly and informative.
I called the number on the website, had to leave a message and a phone number, about 40 minutes later I think it was I got a phone call from the animal hospital, they verify that it was me that called, we exchanged information and instructions and address, we came to the drop off area, put in the new patient, a baby bird that had fallen out of its nest, very friendly baby bird by the way, informed the hospital of the drop off and they were very happy.
This group is amazing, they were the only group that would help me with a wood stork all the way over in Orlando! Thank you so much for all you do!!
Great place. I found a couple stray baby birds around my apartment complex and they took them in without hesitation. They have drop off boxes for wildlife and someone is always there to take care of them.
Very disappointed an update cannot be given to a concerned citizen who has taken the time to not only capture an injured animal but transport it to your facility. Surely, if its a matter of staff, an intern would be happy to answer calls from the public. Ive worked at busier wildlife centers and we at least tried to answer the publics calls. Not very transparent.
Not very happy that they wont take a fledgling mockingbird that is perfectly fine because I dont know anything about how to take care of a wild bird. He eats and hops around, but he cant fly. It makes me sad that I cant seem to get any help from any of these wildlife havens.
Definitely bring any wildlife there and fill out the form. Give a specific location for where the animal was found so they can release it back into its territory.
There is a Retention Pond near me that has Muscovy ducks in it.I brought a sick duckling to them and emailed them on asking how the duckling was doing, they never got back to me.A week ago I called them for an injured adult duck, they said they could not help it because it was not native to Florida and gave no referrals as to where I can get this poor animal help. Very sad and disappointing. 🙁 🦆
What a great place to learn about the care and support for animals rescued from injury and accidents, hoping to restore their health and safely return them to the wild.
Found an injured bird in the St Johns River. Called the wildlife hospital and they said I could drop off even after operating hours. Someone me as i dropped off the bird. Staff was super friendly and sympathetic.
For the amount of time it takes to Explain Why you you dont tell those who call How the said animal is doing you could use the same amount of time telling us HOW the animal is doing. Not that much time.Took 4 minutes to tell me why you dont, how long to say yes its doing OK??Why even have a prompt on the phone directing you to this option to say you dont have this option.
Great staff, and the dont charge.
Ive taken a lot of injured wildlife to them over the years, and they are fantastic.
What an amazing place, I wish there were more places like this. Ive already taken a few birds and a couple of racoons that needed help. Will definitely support.
They do great work.
Nice place to drop off any animalNice clean cages with clean towelsReally/cares about animals
They were very helpful we found and injured bird and called them. They called back right away n dropped the bird off w them for care.
Grateful having the ability to drop off injured baby rabbit after hours, 2:30 AM so he can get medical attention first thing in the morning. Almost cant wait to find out if he/she is okay. 🙏Is it possible to find out if the baby rabbit is okay?
Brought a baby racoon in that we had for a few weeks. Loved and cared for it, but knew we couldnt get permit to keep it so brought to wildlife hospital believing he would be in good hands until he could be back outside and able to survive on his own. Was informed they put him down. Is that really how they test for rabbies??????
If you find an injured critter be careful but do everything you can to save it. Get the injured one to the FWH immediately! Call as you drive to 4560 US 1 and let them know you are coming. These people do all they can to help every animal (feathered or furry, two or 4 legged) that is brought in. They care and have compassion and are so very kind. They are there to help animals in need but they also need OUR help. Go to their website and see what they need. And be grateful they are there
They are so compassionate, kind, and caring. They help so many animals. Even though they are overwhelmed and extremely busy they take time to educate you.
Wonderful what they do to save the native wildlife.
Florida Wildlife Rescue has taken good care of several orphaned critters I’ve found. It’s a relief to know that they are in good hands. Such a great service to have nearby. Thank you.
We found a juvenile sand crane with a damaged leg walking in the Home Depot parking lot. The rescue took it in. These compassionate caring people do a great service to our community. Ill be donating to them this month.
Very helpful to me I had a bout with the heat they gave me water and waited till I felt better
I’m disappointed in this place. It’s a very different wildlife hospital from when I volunteered for 6 months 10 years ago.Not only do they euthanize most animals on the spot, but they also no longer give updates on animals that have been surrendered for rehabilitation or injuries. Which is very disheartening for those of us who deeply care about the animal’s life and well-being.I don’t recommend bringing a raccoon or squirrel here... If they’re babies and the hospital is otherwise full, they’ll euthanize on the spot. If it’s an adult and has some kind of head injury or broken limb, they won’t even TRY to save its life. It’s not “worth the resources”. It sucks that this is the only rehabilitation site that’s conveniently located in Brevard county, but I’m going to try my hardest to find somewhere else with more integrity to bring injured animals.
Excellent place. Great staff . Very informative
Fantastic wildlife care. No visitors allowed
Found a wild water chick and brought it over on a Sunday. It was very easy and explanatory about what was supposed to be done. Staff member with a mask came out and took the bird in with her.
Awesome help to local wild animals that get harmed. Volunteers are great too!
We had to drop off a baby squirrel we found that was having health issues. they were so nice there!
This is a singular community asset! This Hospital treats over 5,000 wildlife patients each year, working with multiple statewide organizations seeing to the interests of wild lives and sometimes human lives as well. Without benefit of any state or federal funding, the Hospital runs on donations, grants, and fundraising activities that provide many programs and interactions for the public with live ambassadors from several native species. The Hospital is professional, disciplined, and resourceful as it continually strives to Keep Wildlife Wild!
The staff here is always nice friendly and helpful. They are a great resource for our community. I have brought wildlife here on numerous occasions and they have always done the best they could to help them. So to the staff thank you for what you do for our wildlife! 😁
I had to bring a baby squirrel in that got injured in my yard and the staff was ready to help the baby and mad sure to get all the info about what we did before I left. I felt safe leaving that little angel with them and hope he gets returned to the wild healthy as can be!
Love the ppl here. Very nice and curtis. Good place to take Injured wild life!
The best thing about this hospital is its employee Rita. She cares so much.
WONDERFUL organization! I found an injured baby opossum and had no idea what do to with it. I did a search and found this place and took it there. The staff was so caring and accepted the animal without hesitation. They accept sick, injured or orphaned wildlife 24/7.
This place has been amazing. The work that they do for the animals including the one I dropped off. Sadly, it was humanly euthanized but I knew it was better than leaving it to suffer.
I greatly appreciate the presence of Florida Wildlife Hospital in our county. On 2 occasions over the years I have utilized them to care for Wildlife babies. They have been excellent. I am very thankful for their extraordinary work. I became a member again today and will continue to support them in their good work!
So helpful to the vibrant wildlife we have in this area! I rely on them when I find wounded animals. They do their very best to help and educate.
We just dropped another animal here. The first was a squirrel that my kids found after a bad hail storm then yesterday it was a hawk that we found laying in our back yard. I am so grateful to know there is a place we can take wild animals that need care!
This place has an overnight drop off cage for after hours . If by chance someone rescues any wild life at any given time. Also they check the cages for new rescued wild life periodically though out all hours in the day. Donations are welcomed
I am so thankful this place exists. I appreciate the hard work these volunteers put in. I dropped of orphin opossums in the night drop, I called the next day and left a voice mail to check their status. I wasnt expecting a call back, I hoped but figured they would be to busy. I was wrong, I received a courteous call back, and although not the best news, the effort made it all worth it. Thank you again!
Thank You FWHS. Always there when we need them. Helping injured animals. Making a difference in our community.
So glad we have this in our area . Very friendly and knowledgable staff.
Had 3 baby rabbits in my fenced yard where my dog goes. My dog would not leave them alone she wanted them to play. I knew my lawn service was coming today and didnt want to see anything happen to those precious babies. I called the sanctuary and asked if i could bring them there as i could not take care of them, they were very friendly and helpful. I gave them a donation to help take care of the babies. I just hope they make it.
A little over a month ago i discovered a baby owl on the ground under a big tree..seemed it just recently hatched...as i wasnt able to get it back up in the nest my daughter took it here and they made sure he was healthy and put him back up in the tree in a basket...it also had a sibling up there which they put in the basket also..I walk by that tree daily and get to see Mom and Dad taking care of them...Thank you for all you do for the animals.
These angels do what they can for our local wildlife. They are there for them like no one else. Please consider checking their web site and wish list and giving any help back for all the help they give forward.
Taking care of injured wildlife 24/7
I called this morning after finding an injured turtle in the road. The volunteer who took my call was very polite and they accepted the animal, no questions asked. Im very thankful this facility exists!
Theyre the best at what they do, whenever you can please donate they are true miracle workers.
IF I find a hurt animal such as a possum or Birds or turtle Im able to bring it and drop It Off there for help
My experience with this hospital is one of the best experiences. Here, the medical staff is well-trained as well as experienced. I am completely satisfied with the services that I receive from this hospital.
I am very impressed by the knowledge of animal behavior. Wonderful people, deserving of your donations!
I called about a sick/injured duck, when there was no answer I left a voicemail before I decided it was too urgent to wait, and started driving an hour that way. When I finally am 5 minutes away I get a call back and I relay the situation, to which the lady replies that this duck is not a native Florida animal so they will not treat him and also that they don’t actually treat sick/injured animals, just reintegrate them back into the wild? (Why then does it have the name “Wildlife HOSPITAL”) I pleaded with her and told her he needed treatment right away to which she suggested that I “find someone to euthanize him.” Was seriously sickening and very telling of how much they actually care for the lives of animals.
Beware or this place. I have dropped off 3 animals and everytime they are euthanized. If you bring in a sick or wounded animal they wont nurse it back to health. They just kill it. Pretty sad today. The woman there dont act like pure animal lovers. Please find another place to take the precious animals.
A wonderful, well-organized, hospital, with a hard-working, outstanding staff. As well as my wonderful co-volunteers, who are always willing to helped as needed. This is a very rewarding place to volunteer!
Brought a squirrel who was injured during the hail storm. They took real good care of the baby squirrel. Unfortunately it died that night
Wonderful place I love anyone who loves animals and cares as much as they do.
Extremely rude and ignorant staff. We had found an animal that was severely hurt and called to have it picked up. Instead of calling us back or coming to rescue this animal (2 miles away from rescue) they chose to ignore us. Despite this being a dangerous animal, we brought it in ourselves because it deserved immediate care. We were greeted, more like glared at when we informed the staff that we brought the animal. After refusing to listen to us on how we found this animal, they jumped to conclusions and told us that it wasnt going to make it. We left this rescue with an uneasy feeling that we left the animal in awful care and they did not want it there. The staff by far was one of the worst staffs I have ever spoken to as well. I have been calling and leaving messages to find out the state of this animal and we have not had any calls back. We will NEVER leave an animal at that place they call a rescue.
These people are the best. The work they do is fantastic!
Have found to different birds called them and they took them in right away.
Ive taken some birds and baby squirrels there they do a wonderful job bless their hearts for being able to do a job like that then they send you a letter saying where they release them at which is nice I helped out with bleach and cleaning supplies forearm cuz they dont have a a lot of money themselves they will support on volunteers
Such a wonderful organization!!! If you are in the area go by and say hello and put a $20 in the jar....they need it!!!
Everyone there does such incredible work with injured and rescued animals. Wonderful caring people!
I brought an injured rabbit to the wildlife hospital. They were very quick to accept it and genuinely care for their patients.
Awesome and friendly staff who do the work of giants.
Had a great time. Also resonably priced
I took a paralyzed bunny in today. he died peacefully and didnt suffer. when i called they were very nice and told me i did what was best for the little guy.
Amazing place!! They do such great work for the animals.
Love animals so I love this place and anymplace that helps animals in anynway.

They are REAL animal heros!!! They save every animal!! They live the true meaning of Aloha and CoExist!!! Call them when you need an animal rescue!!!!
Had a couple of baby squirrels after Irma. They take care of them and release them back in the wild.
Super nice staff. I called and sent them photos of the baby ducks and they identified them and told me they would take them.
Awesome staff! Quick to take in/care for animals.
Wonderful people, thank you for taking in the baby bird.
Great, caring ppl working there! 💜🕊💛🐢💚🐍❤🐦💜🐾
This sanctuary takes all sorts of hurt wildlife. In the few minutes that I was there, there were 4 other people coming in bringing hurt animals. So Im assuming theyre extremely busy all the time! They accept donations so I will be donating here now that I see just how many animals they are helping
Awesome people caring for injured wildlife!
Professionals! Underated! However I once dropped in and hoped to take some exotics pictures; I was disrespected as though I was bad press. Still; Professional!
Great people, great facilities, rescuing wild animals.
Last year I brought them a baby possum, they were very friendly and thankful, this year I called about a sandhill crane that I saw on the side of the road that had a plastic bead stuck on its beak causing it to be disformed, they were understaffed so they couldnt go to the bird on the Sunday afternoon, they gave me the number of animal services so that the bird could get thw help it needed.Thank you for your help and hope that you can keep upvthe good work
Very nice caring people doing a great service for wildlife. I became a member.
Kudos for this place helping
Great organization!
Theres a biologist that works inside and outside who knows a thing or two about a thing or two.
Friendly and knowledgeable people
Found a baby mockingbird on my back porch table that had probably been dropped by a predator(couldnt locate the nest). Called them and they offered to take it in.
Lovely place, great people
