The lady was nice but the hair she cut it way too short to begin with i honestly didn’t like it and couldn’t do anything with my hair.Front was long and back was super hella short.They don’t call to remind you that u have an appointment coming up.These are just students practicing on you they don’t have a fully experience.I would recommend going into a professional hair salon studio who got skills more longer.

I am over the top pleased with the service and outcome of my hair color. Daniel Erasmus helped me to understand the complete process. His skill and knowledge made the whole process very enjoyable. It was nice to see how the instructors and students supported and worked together. It was a great experience.

So I booked 2 months in advance for my 11 year old daughters birthday. She and a friend were going to have their nails and makeup done. I received multiple texts and emails for the next 3 days before her appointment. I confirmed everything. I then received a voice-mail 3 hours before her appointment saying that the appointment was canceled. I called back saying that it was her birthday and I had scheduled 2 months in advance. The woman on the phone said they are a school and they didnt have any students available, even though I booked 2 months in advance. We went to the mall anyway and I found a nail salon but not before seeing three students at the front desk of the school hanging out doing nothing but talking and laughing. Such a joke of a place.

I booked a hair appointment for 2:15 on a Saturday. It takes me about 30 minutes to get to the Melbourne Mall where the salon is located. I started heading up at 1:30. I got a phone call at 1:45 asking if I could please wait until 3:00 because the hair stylist is really busy and has a client and they are running late. I graciously agreed. When I went back to the salon to check my name in the place was complete chaos. I have never seen anything like it. I stood at the register without even being acknowledged for 10 minutes. finally a woman acknowledged me and checked me in and then I stood there for another 15 minutes waiting for stylist to come up to get me. Finally I just got irritated and I left. Nobody tried to call me or reach out to me or anything. tons of students standing around talking and laughing and joking. Frustrated clients. The place was complete chaos. They should be ashamed of themselves and how they are running the salon .. They are teaching the future students how to be unprofessional and greedy. They should be teaching their students how to be compassionate to clients and teach everybody with dignity and respect. I will never go there again and I will never recommend that place for any future beauty school student. I would not want my child acting like any of the students I seen there on Saturday. That place is a joke they are just there to make money. I dont think they care about teaching the students professionalism

I attended TSPA in 2012 and still have my academy friends and a sense of family to this day. I was taught hair cutting techniques beyond industry standard and the business know how to prevent me from becoming the starving artist and to the thriving salon professional I am today instead.

My experience here with Bianca the Barber was fantastic! I went in to get french braids. She was quick. Bianca took the time to ask questions and really took care of me, my braids lasted 6 daysuntil I took them out, they were also the nicest braids. I got so many complements that I am rebooking with Bianca and also, the price is very fair for the service.

The service was good and l was very pleased with my haircut.The floor supervisor was very unpleasant and never came to check how the student was doing and if everything was right.To top it up, the front desk was also unpleasant and did not even tryed to help with a facial appointment l asked to reestablish and was ademant that l will no get one.Very disappointed today

I stood at the front desk for at least 10 minutes and no one acknowledged me.. complete turn off. I was also a prospective student wanting to use my GI bill and the admissions counselor kept harassing me to start and I told her with the VA its a process and that I also needed to retrieve my esthetics transcript since I completed that program already & would let her know once everything was complete. She texts to ask if she could take me off of her call list.. I said sure why not after dealing with all of that. Beautiful school but employees need work with professionalism. VA students take your GI bill elsewhere and If you already have a license they will not honor that either to knock off at least some hours.. Im glad to be elsewhere

I was not going to write a review at first but I felt that people needed to know to use caution. My wife had an appointment there on Saturday 03/28/2021 at 11 a.m now we do not live anywhere close to the salon or the mall we live in merritt island and takes about 30-40 minutes to get there from where we are so it is not a short distance or drive to get there. When we got there we had to wait to which was not a big deal they where just opening and getting situated and checking in the clients that had an appointment but when we got there to see the hair dresser whose first name I cannot remember but the last name was Morales. The lady in charge or maybe just one of the teachers just told us Oh she didnt come in today sorry and that was that now yes she did ask if she wanted to see someone else but that was not the issue. The issues that I have is that was probably one of the worst and poorest customer service that we have had and I have seen as a business stand point. The appointment was made with the one hair dresser and all that was said was do you want someone else answer me this how do you run a company and not care about your clients one and there was no sincerity at all no care like it didnt even matter that you lost business. We drove all the way out there for nothing waist time and gas for nothing how do you let your staff or students make appointments and then not show and it just be ok didnt offer anything for the troubles. I dont want anything for free im not asking that I just want to know what you do when you train these students to not care about the customers that make their living because without clients you make no money. You need to have some kind of plan in place to handle things like this not just sorry and do you want someone else if she did we would not have had an appointment made there needs to be something that you have in place some kind of policy for situations like that and hold your students accountable or not have them make appointments if they cannot be relied on. I do understand things happen but there was no communication what so ever not from the students or the so called people in charge. I know I will never come back and give my business there at all or recommend them to anyone what so ever this was the first time there and was a horrible experience and you guys could have done a way better job handling it then you did like I said this was a first time experience that will never be forgotten and I will never recommend your establishment to anyone. Please in the future have something in place some kind of policy and hold your students accountable or dont let them make appointments if they cannot even show up to work basically this is the profession they chose this is what they want to do to earn a living and this is the worse way to start off by not showing up to your job and not caring about your customers both staff and management/teachers this was the worst and last experience that I will ever put myself and my wife through with your establishment.

I started my journey at TSPA when I started working there last February at the front desk. I never had any issues while working there, I loved everyone I came in contact with and the my work peers treated me great. I got interested in the full specialty program and began school there one month later. Although I had to quit working there to become a student, I felt it was the best decision for me since I had a growing passion for makeup and skincare. School was great up until we got a few months in, most of the issues the class came across was nothing but petty drama, which is totally expected with a full class of women spending full time work hours together. However, the reasons for the petty drama began and stopped with the full specialty instructor, Jodi Warran. When the students started figuring out where the root of our issues were coming from we were all completely shocked. Jodi singled people out and played the victim card. She created a Facebook group for the full specialty students, so we could connect and talk about cool products and new techniques, but it ended up taking a turn for the worst when she deleted multiple people out of the group (who she felt was problematic) and resigned from her position VIA a nasty Facebook post all while also letting the entire class know she was the victim in all of this. Lies, purposeful gossip, and threats were made by this middle aged woman who had it out to get certain people from the very beginning. Not only did my respect for my instructor completely disappear, but I lost respect for the school and its leaders when we voiced our concerns fully and were not heard in the slightest. We were given an exam with barely any studying or guidance, because they took the word of a resigned instructor over the students who were still participating in their program.As far as services go, dont waste your time. Students are not taught proper techniques for services or cleaning. Half of the items given in our skincare kit we never used, mostly more of the harsh exfoliants. Still to this day Im not sure why I paid for products I never learned how to use. Not only did we not know how to use many of the skincare machines and products, but service sheets that were turned in at the end of every week would constantly go missing and multiple students struggled close to graduation because of it. If you think what I have said so far is bad, think about how out of 18 total students that attended full specialty-the skin portion, absolutely no one passed the skin exam. Not. One. Person.As upset as I was in this program, it makes me more upset knowing that I have reached out to Kristen Kohl, who is the owner, multiple times about my concerns and have never heard anything back. Every single person I attended this school with was put on payment plans so they could get their licenses right after graduation. After loans and a scholarship I still owed almost $2k and it was never once mentioned to me I needed to be making payments while in school so me getting my license wasnt delayed. Not once have I received a letter since graduation from anyone at TSPA, except for a 1098T for taxes, and now I am being told I have a certain date to pay them all of the money still owed or legal action will be taken against me.I would never recommend getting services done from a place so unprofessional, as well as I would never recommend anyone to attend school there. From what Ive experienced, its only about the money and how many people they can get in and out of their door.The photos I attached speak for themselves, tools (especially nail tools) are not cleaned and properly sanitized. The pedicure cleaning log is an absolute disaster. Tables are falling apart. Wax is kept at the wrong temperatures, so your feet sick to the ground at the wax stations. Sheets have mysterious stains no one can explain. Youre better off getting services done by an actual trained professional.

Had a haircut here today, and it was an all-around amazing experience. Kai (Kaitlin) was my student hairstylist, and she did an amazing job. She was very professional, had detailed knowledge of the various products she used on my hair, was precise in her cutting technique, and very dedicated to seeing that my hair looked fabulous when she was finished. I will definitely be returning to see what wonders she can pull off with color! Great place I would recommend to anyone. (And I am a nit-picker, I dont write reviews unless I am very impressed.)

I had the best experience with an academy student today! I managed to get a walk-in apt in about an hour which was awesome. Check in was easy and welcoming. My stylist (I’m a space cadet so I literally can’t remember if her name was Hailey or Bailey) was great! Attentive and thoroughly invested in giving me a perfect cut. A teacher gave her encouraging and super helpful assistance when needed as well. I came in looking for the perfect “big chop” type cut on my longish, weird curly hair that can be intimidating to cut so dramatically short. I am so very impressed and pleased with my fabulous cut and everyone’s professional, attentive service.

Spelling?)She was informative and great at what she does!Edit and update for 3/2021I had to take my 5 star review down. I absolutely was done dirty. The hair cut i asked for compared to what i got is absolutely inexcusable. Especially considering the teacher did 90% of my cut. I’m so sad, i literally hate it. So much was taken off and it looks absolutely horrible. I hope it grows back by my wedding . Come on Pedro. 😭😭😭 I’ll never be back.

I have been going here for two years and getting my hair blown out straight. They have been charging me $10 for this service. . However last month they said they have to charge me $5 extra because my hair is long and $5 extra because it is course. My hair is not course for one. And my hair has always been this length. I used to go every week for this service. I will now go every other week because their price doubled. I don’t think it’s right to do this to a customer of two years. I will continue come however, I will never recommend this place again, like I used to. Never.

Prior to receiving a service at this salon, please note that the students are not supervised by an instructor. No instructor visited or oversaw any of the service despite the student looking for her. These students who are performing these services are not towards the end of their program. Both girls had only began practicing and studying cosmetology for less than a month.My friend and I both went for a shampoo and style. No haircut, just simple wash and style and they were not capable of completing this task. My hair was aggressively brushed and pulled out. And they did not know how to use a curling iron. Please do not risk going if your are concerned about the final appearance.

Ive never had my hair colored before but decided I needed a change. Heard about this place from a friend who only gets her hair done here and went from brunette to blonde to Broadway Blue with Times Square Teal ends. Very cool to see the progression. Alex was wonderful to work with as I came in with a small idea of what I wanted (basically just blue hair) and she turned it into this! Thank you girl! She also answered all my questions about how to care for my now beta fish/mermaid hair. Its definitely a community in there, too, I probably spoke to everyone in there over the course of the 2 appointments I had (bleaching one afternoon, color on a different morning). Awesome experience for my first time. I will definitely be going back for touch-ups or any other crazy hair color.

I am a current student at this school and I must say this is a wonderful learning experience. I entered the field of cosmetology with little to no knowledge of hair styling, cutting, coloring, and many more things. Thanks to my professional instructors and other staff I WILL be taking a big leap in the field of cosmetology in April bringing with me the tools and professionalism of the craft I am learning. This school not also prepares you for a career but helps you builds a professional character, client rapport, and a sensational sense of style! Just had hair colored, highlighted and butcher cut. The student did a great job, it was the instructor that butchered my cut. Left steps and ridges and uneven cut patterns. I was asked if I wanted it fixed to blend, but if I would have done that, I would have 1/2 inch in length hair! I wish I was able to show a picture so others could be forewarned of the HORRIBLE HAIRCUT that you might get if you go here!

Decided to try this place out as I usually go to other salon schools to get manicures/pedicures (Paul Mitchell, Evans, etc.) and have always had a positive experience. Im very disappointed in my experience here.I went in with a friend to get pedicures. It started off okay, but the students we had were curt and didnt do a stellar job. They didnt trim our nails, or remove any dead skin/apply lotion as a typical pedicure does. I ended up having to redo my pedicure at home because the polish was put on unevenly and on my skin. There was a bit of dirt under my toenail and I asked the student (I cant remember her name, but she had bright blue hair) giving me the pedicure if she could remove some of it, and she said Im not a doctor, its not my job to clean your feet. Which is almost comical considering what I was paying her to do. My friend had a similar experience with hers.Normally Id give them the benefit of the doubt as theyre students and still learning, but our students told us that they were in fact graduating later that week.Definitely will NOT return, and will tell others to go spend their money somewhere else.

I arrived at TSPA for my scheduled appointment time. After filling out a couple of forms, I was quickly greeted by Jacey for my waxing services. She did an amazing job on my eyebrows!! Which they desperately needed. I am very pleased with all of the waxing services I received. Then after a few minutes, I was then greeted and led back to the hair salon area by Anna. I requested a spiral perm. Anna and Kai did an awesome job on my perm. I am absolutely thrilled with the result. I feel so pretty. Both gals are an absolute pleasure to work with. I will let future clients know...... understand that this is a school. Please dont come here wanting a rush job. These students are doing a great job and need a little more time to do their job. I rather they take the extra time to get it right 🙂 I have already scheduled my follow up appointment!! I highly recommend them. Especially Anna, Kai and Jacey!!

I don’t even know where to begin. I have curly hair and I asked for an inch off, and some how ended up getting hair to my shoulders. My hair was long and I told the student that I wanted The length still, and she confirmed it with me. She’s insisted on cutting my hair dry. The only time I’ve had a salon cut my hair dry, is when they wash it first, and then blow dry and straighten it. Usually they wash it and cut it wet and I said this, but she insisted to do it dry. She took a small comb and brushed out my ENTIRE head with it, I literally had a lions mane, and she cut it like that! Finally she washed it and my hair was so uneven that she’s had to cut more off. And of course, the blow dry just made my hair just as big and poofy, and the “flat iron” was one of those stupid hot brushes. Not even an actual flat iron! If you have ethnic hair, the students do not know how to deal with it. The instructors should look over The students more closely. This is ridiculous, and so unprofessional. I said an inch and literally got 4-5 off instead. I’m never coming here again, and I want a refund. Absolutely ridiculous.

I went to Tspa today and I absolutely loved the outcome. Lily was the one who did my hair and it turned out perfect and just as I imagined. I went to her previously about 6 months ago, and even then as a new student in this field she did a fantastic job and really showed her effort and ability, as well as talent to pursue being a hair stylist. I came in last minute and she without hesitation took me in and gave me the full on wash, cut and blow dry, not to mention I have very long hair and I told her I wanted 7 inches cut off and she gave me exactly what I asked for without any problems or complications. Her instructor never once had to come over and help her, she did it completely 100% by herself, so because of that I highly recommend lily to do your hair because she is very professional and knows exactly what she’s doing, I am very pleased with my haircut and I will for sure be back!

This school ruins your life calls my boyfriend and tells him I was with another man inside the school and kick me out for having cancer and not honoring my 3 day leave or miscarriage I had in April 2 to the 3rd I left late and my teacher can even be a witness to it now theyre calling my clients and spreading lies I didnt even talk to the women there everyday drama worst mistake of my life one of them atleast. I spoke with the owner today and she smashed the phone down I should post the call because it was straight forward god help you all. Make sure you record everything.

This is my first visit, the student, Deeana was very receptive and took time to make sure I was happy with my cut. I just had my first massage out of a series package of 5. There was a guy snoring right next to the screen, other students talking, giggling, making weekend plans! Worst ambience for a massage. Not relaxing at all. I spoke to the director and she wouldn’t give me a refund for the rest of my package! I’m stuck going back there for 4 more!

Upon my entrance I saw a very well professional look to this place. I was greeted by Heather A. She showed me around to the different stations they have. Heather was very professional, she took her time, and made 100% sure I was happy with my new look. I couldnt be more happy, my hair looks amazing. I will be a customer for a long time of hers.

I went in for a quick shampoo and blow dry. I was skeptical about going to a school to get my hair done but figured a simple shampoo and blow dry is an easy-go. The girl was nice but didnt know how to blow dry hair, which is rather surprising. She kept looking for her teacher for help but the teacher never came by. They say they are overseen by professionals but evidently they are not. After an hour of blow dry she somehow managed to leave damp areas in my hair. If a simple blow dry is difficult for these students, I wouldt risk a haircut or color with this place!

So happy with my experience. Nathan helped tone my home dyed hair into a much loved blonde. Also he did a great job with refreshing the layers in my hair. Overall great time and friendly staff. Thank you!

Ive been coming to PCI Academy for ten years and have gotten some great hair cuts. The students Ive had seemed like good friends who are interested in me as a person. I enjoy hearing about their lives and what they are planning to do after they graduate. The instructors have been super friendly. Its an enjoyable experience!

Savannah Mulligan is a very professional young lady, very attentive to the needs and wants of the clients. She knows how to listen and her work shows it. She is precise in her cuts and shows a great deal of concern in giving the customer the cut or the color they want. Offering good advice when asked, Savannah is constant in the requirements of her work and shows all the qualities of a great hairdresser. Good job!

I went to salon just to get my haircut trimmed and all the dead ends cut off I spent over 45 minutes in the chair well the girl and the instructor watched and clipped off maybe about a half of inch of hair total on my whole head of hair my hair is pretty long I spent $15 on absolutely nothing it was horrible and all they kept saying was how great it looked after they were done I will never recommend and never go back

Great place to go and support students with their dreams. I have had an awesome Pedi by Kayla, a full set of accrylics by Ashley, an awesome fill and nail design by Trissy, Charnell by far gave me the best message I ever had and Chris O did an awesome job on my bangs, cut & style... Its hard to find someone who can do bangs right. He nailed it!

I want to say a Huge Thank You to Sarah Graves (student) and the instructors. I just moved to Melbourne from Lakeland and a stylist in Lakeland wrecked my highlights and haircut. THANKFULLY Sarah Graves and the instructors at Salon Professional Academy SAVED MY HAIR!! They took a lot of time and made sure my highlights and lowlights were done correctly and did an excellent job getting my haircut looking good.

This business is very shady. Aside from a poor haircut, they wil give you one price on the phone and change it when you are finished. Additionally, I was shorted by $5 when I paid and informed the cashier. She gave no argument - interesting...

I usually go to the nail salon across but chose to try this place out .. I went to get my eyebrows waxed and two people did it at the same time... it felt uncomfortable.I went for a simple clean up but they reshaped my eyebrows and I don’t like them, they look nowhere even .Overall now I will have to regrow my eyebrows to get my original shape back .Hopefully I do ..I do not recommend, find a better place.

Lilia Medina was awesome and very professional. She really took her time with the consultation to make sure we were on the same page. My haircut and style turned out beautiful and have already booked another appointment with her before she graduates in a month. Highly recommend!!! Thanks Lilia!

Made an appointment ahead of time for my little daughter for a child cut and blow dry! I asked for a student that does Ethnic Hair. But we didnt get that! We waited 30 mins to get my daughter in a chair to have her hair done and cause the Salon was running late. The front desk never came over while we waited to let us know our stylist was running late.I was told when my daughter was in the chair they couldnt cut hair cause of the time and the mall closing at 6pm. What is the point of making an appointment for specific services if you cant get them?The floor manger is the one that told me ot wouldnt be enough time for a cut but he didnt even offer me a discount or free hair cut next time for my daughter. And after they were done with my daughter at the front desk to pay that is when I am hit for 10 extra dollars cause of her hair length! I should have been told that up front!Just bad customer service all around. Usually they do a great time. But this time is just 2 thumbs down.

I just had my hair done at The Salon Professional Academy in Melbourne, FL by my cousin, Lilia Medina and she did a fantastic job!! She took the time to see that I was nervous and reassured me that what I wanted could be done. I dont get my hair cut that often and she exceeded my expectations!! I would go to her every time!! She made me feel really good about my self and my hair feels like a million dollars!! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!! :-)

Savannah Mulligan is a natural when it comes to cutting, coloring and styling hair. She is very talented and did an amazing job of styling the hair for several family members preparing for a wedding recently. I didnt know anything about Hair schools in general, if you would have asked, I wouldnt have trusted someone new doing my hair. Then, my daughter Savannah Mulligan enrolled, when she went on the floor 2 months later, I was a little nervous to entrust my head to her, but she did a wonderful job! She has become my favorite hair dresser (even if in training), so far, shes done hair cut, roots, highlights and lowlights. I can tell you that Ive had the same hair dresser for the past 10 years and she is wonderful, my daughter, only after a couple of months practicing, did as good if not better than her! I love the instructors, they are very helpful and always keep an eye on whats going on and manage to do that in staying discreet and not intruding on the student and the client. I love TSPA, my opinion of it has drastically changed now that I have actually gone as a client, and I would recommend it to anyone. Visit my daughter Savannah Mulligan, she has wanted to become a hair dresser since she was a child, and you can tell she is a natural at it. She loves what she is doing, and it shows!

One star is quite generous! and to say that I am EXTREMELY disappointed with The Salon Professional Academy is an understatement, I was a student at TSPA and 8 weeks from my set graduation in Cosmetology my husband was given military orders. As his wife, we packed our things and moved across the country to fufil his military duties having to leave everything behind.I NEVER recieved so much as a letter, or call regarding any bill and recieved a notice on my credit report that I am now in collections!!! I am STUNNED to know this is how TSPA treats military families, the credit with which I pride myself is ruined. To make things WORSE, I have called TSPA over and over again countless times to resolve this issue. I have spoken to the girls at the front desk, who transfer me to Jennifer in Financial Aid who never answers. I have left her countless voicemails asking to call me back to NO AVAIL. After asking the front desk to let me talk to someone else, I was transferred to Tiffany in admissions on two seperate occasions in regards to the matter; who assured me she would have someone from financial aid reach out to resolve the issue. On 6/5/19 I AGAIN spoke to Tiffany who sympathized with me assuring me that she would hand deliver a note to another woman by the name Tiffany in Financial Aid. Another week has gone by and I have YET to hear from TSPA. Unbelievable. How am I expected to make payments on this when they cant even bother themselves to HELP ME!!! I am saddened and disapponted to see this is how the Salon Professional Academy runs their bussiness and treats military spouses. They park student bills without so much as a call or letter and send them to collections when it is convenient. Heartless. Students looking to come here, beware.

This was an incredible experience! The place was not only clean and organized but everyone there was very friendly and inviting! Ive been going to the same barber for years but i came in and got a cut from Jinilin, she was AMAZING! I would recommend this experience to everyone!

I thought the student was knowledgeable, she did a good cut but not happy with the color. I wanted lighter not darker. I will probably call back and see if they can take some of the color out. I hate to complain but not happy with the dark purple color, at 67 yrs old not my color.

I am currently a student of the salon professional academy and if you havent yet checked it out for your interest in the cosmetology field, I would ASAP ! Its a crisp, clean enviroment, experienced instructors who give you one on one teaching and care about your interest in this art. Classes are small and the bonds that you build with each and every one of the students is incredible ! I love that I choose this school and you should check it out for yourself !

I had such a great experience getting my hair cut and styled by Savannah Mulligan. The staff is very friendly and laid back, which makes for the perfect, relaxing experience! I will definitely continue to go back.
