Nick is a great and honest mechanic. He will not push repairs you do not need, like other mechanics do today. Always very punctual and cordial.

I had a great experience when I took my car to Nicks. He was looking at my car within an hour of calling him, and had it back to me in a few days when the necessary parts came in for the repair. The steering is great now, and the exhaust is back to normal.

Nick is an honest, skilled, and friendly professional of the highest caliber, and we are so grateful we took our car into his shop following an emergency related to our steering wheel while visiting family in the area. As someone who is not at all knowledgeable about cars, I dread going to mechanics and always feeling as though someone could recommend me any service with any price tag and I wouldnt know any better than to accept it, only for the issue to repeat itself down the line. When my partner first called Nick, his calm and pleasant manner immediately put us at ease, and he invited us to come by first thing in the morning. In explaining the issue (which he was able to identify solely from my imitation of the noise it was making, which is very impressive), he was informative and concise, and able to use language I could easily understand without being at all condescending. He explained to us there were essentially two ways of fixing the issue, but that he recommended removing and replacing (rather than repairing) the joint that was broken, because although we would have to pay for the new part, the cost of the labor would be significantly less. He was able to have the new part delivered that day and I believe we picked our car up the following morning. We really had no idea how much we could expect to pay after Googling price quotes for the same service and beginning to get worried at the range. We were hugely relieved at the ultimate price, especially for service that was faster, more pleasant, and more transparent than we ever anticipated our trip to the mechanic to be -- this man is so honest that he would not even accept the tip we tried to give him because we were so blown away! And this is all during COVID. Nick fixed our car in November, and its now January - the steering is perfect after an alignment and I never heard that noise again! I will be sending all my family in the area to Nick from now on. Stop reading reviews now and go get your car fixed, you found the one!!!

Cant vouch for the quality of repairs (as he didnt end up needing to do any), but can vouch for the honesty and diagnostic skill. Had a problem that had stumped a few other people I had brought it to. He accurately diagnosed the problem and let me know the part that needed to be replaced. The part was under warranty and could be replaced elsewhere for free. Im sure he knew that, so was very nice of him to help me save a buck even though it wouldnt help him at all.

This review has been a long time coming. Ive been going to Nick for the last 3 years, and couldnt be happier. Hes the best mechanic that Ive had since leaving my home state where my family had the same mechanics for 20+ years. Incredibly honest, straightforward, efficient, helpful, etc. etc. Not to mention has kept my 2010 ford with 150K miles in great shape. Everything you would want in a mechanic. I trust him 100%. I will start by saying, I came to Nicks after Woburn Toyota claimed I needed a new control arm in my 2017 Corolla. Nick not only gave my vehicle a thorough examination (and found no issues with control arm or any components of my suspension), he didnt charge me a cent for the second opinion. My Toyota Highlander developed a whine emanating from the engine compartment. Nick was able to immediately diagnose an issue with the power steering pump. I called and got a quote for spark plugs + radiator flush at around 290. This was already the best price I could find in the area. I dropped off my car and picked it up that afternoon to find a bill for only 220. I will definitely be getting my oil changed here next time and any other work my car needs done. Owning a car in Boston sucks, going to Nicks Auto Service doesnt.

Nick was excellent, I never plan on going to another auto shop! I brought my Subaru in early on Veterans day and though he said he was swamped, he got parts ordered and handled a tricky repair by the afternoon. He is the only mechanic Ive gone to who found what was causing my car to overheat, explained it to me, and fixed it quickly for a fair price! Very impressed with this little place.

Theres nothing better than a trustworthy mechanic! Nick is wonderful! He does speedy, quality work at a fair price. Hes even done urgent fixes for me a couple times when Ive called him in a panic. He has worked on both of my cars: a Smart and a Nissan Versa. So glad I found him.

I got my brakes replaced about a month ago. After getting them replaced, they were squeaking really bad, so I came back in. Nick was upfront about the fact that he was having an issue with the manufacturer and a lot of brakes he had replaced recently were having the same issue. He fixed them up right away at no charge, and I tried to pay him for the time he spent but he wouldn’t take my money. Really good guy and I really appreciate his integrity. I will be sticking with this place whenever I have an issue with my car.

This review is long overdue, I have been going to Nicks Auto Service for about 11 years now, my entire family goes to him. He has worked on all of our cars which included a 2000 Mazda 626, a 2010 Nissan Altima, 2008 Toyota Corolla and a 2002 Volvo and we never had an issue that Nick couldnt fix. His prices are fair and reasonable and the job is done right the first time. Nick is not only a very good mechanic but hes also one of the nicest people I know, I personally consider him a good friend and often go to him for automotive advice. We were recently in the market for a new car to replace my daughters old Volvo and he steered us in the right direction on her purchase, she bought a 2016 Corolla that she loves. And of course we brought the new car to him to have him check it out before she bought it, I cant thank him enough for all of the help hes provided us over the years.Nick is sincere and he tells you up front if a repair is worth doing or not, and we trust him with all of our repairs.

I have taken my Jetta and Santa Fe on numerous occasions. One time when my Jetta was leaking coolant and the warranty on my Jetta had just expired. Nick directed me to go back to VW and make a case that they should fix the issue. VW fixed at no charge. Nick does great work. He is very knowledgeable and honest.

Called Nick’s late Friday afternoon about a noise my car was making. He took me in right away and had the problem diagnosed and fixed in under an hour. I have never experienced such exceptional service!

Nick is amazing – he is definitely the most trustworthy mechanic I have ever worked with. If I was not moving, I would never switch mechanics for life. He always tells me straight which things need to get done and how much they will cost and he has the best labor rates around. I trust him like I would trust my family and you should too! Its hard to come by, thats for sure. Being a young female, I have been taken advantage of by many mechanics who overquote me and charge me for things I didnt need which I only found out later. I needed a new muffler so I took it in to Nick. He took a look under it and called me back within 5 minutes. He was totally honest: the repairs would cost more than the car was worth. He recommended that I just get a new car.Any other place would have been happy to take the thousand for exhaust and let me drive away with failing fuel and brake lines, but I left without spending a dime. This guy is honest, what more do you need from a car mechanic?

Took my car here to put air in the tires and Nick came outside and offered to fill them for free in his shop. Like that wasnt a nice enough gesture, he also saw that I lost a wiper blade and in .2 seconds had a brand new one on there for me. Its a rare day when a woman goes to a repair shop and isnt taken advantage of. Not only was he genuine and kind, but his place was so clean!! Found Nick through various internet searches for a VW mechanic. After the reading all the reviews I added him to my list to call. He ended up being my first and only call! He gave me a preliminary diagnosis over the phone and said to bring it in. When the car completely died and I couldnt drive it he didnt pass me off to some tow company, he recommended AAA - I felt that was a good sign.Within 15min of dropping off the car Nick called and gave me the diagnosis and estimate. He also called to let me know when identified further work to be done. Lastly, he threw in my oil change.The car was ready within a day of dropping it off and runs great now. Further, as another reviewer mentioned - Nick saved all the parts he took out of my car and showed them to me. It increased my confidence in him they he knew what he was doing and did it honestly. Im glad to have found him and look forward to using him again.

Took my car in for some service as the check engine light had come on and the car was driving pretty rough. Brought it in on Patriots Day and Nick was able to let me know what I needed done, what other issues I might need to address in the future...and all in the same day. Even when I went in to pick up my car, he had the parts that he had replaced laid out to show me what he had worked on. Ive dealt with many mechanics before and Im pretty sure I know when Im dealing with someone whos being honest and means what he says. I heard a noise coming from my truck the last couple of days. Today it got really bad. I pulled into Nicks Auto on Main St in Medford and asked Nick if he could take a ride to hear the noise. He was working on a car that was on the lift but still took the ride. At first he thought it was my ball joint, we got back to the shop and he took the car on the lift off to put mine on to check it out, it ended up being my rear brakes. Within the next 60 mins he had the parts and replaced my rear brakes for a very reasonable price. Definitely went out of his way to please a costumer. Hopefully I dont have to do anymore work to my truck but, if I do Ill bring it back to Nick I recommended him to anyone I know Very Professional and Great Knowledgeable Work

My car had an aggressive shake and thumping sound to it one morning a week after having new tires put on at Townfaire Tire. Returned to Townfaire to have their mechanic inform me I needed new tie rods.I spoke with Nick on a Friday around 2, and said to bring the car down. He will look at it and possibly have it fixed that night, or he works Saturday until noon (awesome).Left the car and had only walked a few blocks when he called and said to come back and get my car, the tire shop hadnt tightened my lug nuts. He could have gone and done the work, and been a crook. Just tightened the lug nuts and all issues were gone.Honest, quick, open Saturday by appointment, convenient.Great Place!

Nick is the man. Found him on Craigslist after Mercedes gave me an outrageous estimate for some maintenance items. Not only did Nick debunk some of the frivolous repair items but was way more reasonable for the repairs and did an A+ job. You dont always get lucky when you search for an alternative repair shop vs the dealership but I will say finding Nick was great fortune and no one else will touch my cars as long I am in the area.
