Owner does not honor her prices, I ask her to tailor and hem my dress pants in which she priced me at 50 bucks; however, she didn’t tailor my pants only hem. I went back to see it she would correct and fix what she had done, now she has the nerve to price me at a rate of 30$ a pair (I have 4 pair that needs correcting) . Please save you time and hard earn money. NOT A GOOD BUSINESS
I never review, mostly because I feel its a tad arrogant and too perspective-based,but I have to comment that there was a female worker who was extremely rude to my mother. Im not sure if it was because of her race ( She refused to understand my mother) but also refused to let her try on a dress because she said it would be too small and suggested a dress size at least 4 times larger than what she usually wears. I understand garments of this kind have different sizing, but correct me if Im wrong, I do think there is a difference between 4- 5 x and xl.
Ms. Mary has been wonderful. She is always on time with my garments and is always willing to fit you on site. She will make recommendations, but will always allow you to have the final say o how you want it to fit. She is professional and friendly. and if it is not exactly how you discussed it .. she will make the adjustments at no charge.
I was able to get my dress altered and it was available for same day pick up. However I believe she is a little pricey....maybe because it was a holiday and she could tell I was desperate IDK.
The owner is wonderful and very nice! She saved my day when she told me she could alter my wedding dress to fit my arms after I was told by two other places there was nothing they could do! Will definitely be going here for any alterations I need.
Last minute prom dress shopping (as usual) for my daughter and the dress we bought was great quality but was disproportionate to her size & height (24 & 55) Mary practically remade dress in 1 week. It was 7 layers of fabric and a 2ft train....she did great work!
The owner Did not honor her price that she told me for alterations to my drapes. I took the drapes there to her for her to see and give me a price, I paid her upfront the price she told me and then she later calls me and tell me it will be double price for her to do the work. Very rude and unprofessional!!
My experience with Marys alterations started out well. I was in a pinch due to losing a lot of weight before my wedding. I only needed it to be hemmed a little shorter, because I had exchanged it for a smaller size. I asked the owner if I was needed to pick it up, due to working 7 days straight leading up to the wedding. My mother in law picked it up and wrote a check for the remaining balance. As I was getting ready to walk down the aisle, we all noticed there was a large bunching of material right at my waist, making me look pregnant. After a few tricks of trying to eliminate this problem, we had to cut my dress and get rid of as much excess material as we could. Imagine the horror of cutting into a 600 dollar dress. The next Monday, my mother in law called the shop and left a message stating the issue we had with the alterations and that she would proceed with stopping payment if we didnt get a call back immediately. We got no call at all. I had planned on stopping by to try and get the dress fixed to a point that I could re-use the dress, but wasnt able due to work schedule colliding and poor memory.Fast forward two months, I get a call stating she was sending the failed payment to collections. I called back immediately to explain what happened. Over the phone, she was very rude and not understanding as to WHY I hadnt been able to stop by and rectify the situation. We finally resolved to have me come in to try and work it out. I showed up there today (one day after the phone call) with my mother in law. She originally came off as defensive and rude claiming that every shop would have done the alterations that way and wouldnt listen to why I couldnt come before the wedding to fix it. We had to come back an hour later for her friend to come over to translate. After about 20 minutes of going back and forth, she wants to discount me 20 dollars for the messed up layer. There is nothing that she wants to do to fix my dress, not that it can take back the tears I shed while cutting my dress.During our exchange, she claimed that all alteration shops would have hemmed that dress from the waist, including Davids Bridal. I called Davids bridal and talked to both of their seamstresses and not only would they have done what I needed for a lower price, but they said they couldnt do it the way she did, because of the style of the dress. The DB seamstress said the way she did it messes up the entire A line of the dress.I dont recommend this shop, even if she has done well in the past. She was unprofessional and unwilling to find a way to solve the resolution.
Decent prices and great selection.
She did good job, with the exception of a blouse took in the sleeves a bit to much
Great
