Been doing my taxes with R&A for over 10yrs in doing my business and personal tax accounting great job

I wish I would have never worked with Rue and Associates. My husband and I feel completely taken advantage of. Insanely high prices for minimal work, hidden fees, and “customer service” that has left us in the dark regarding serious tax matters. We are way better off working elsewhere. I will make sure friends and family avoid this place at all costs.

Rue and Associates is a great tax and accounting firm. Most of the negative reviews here are from desperate individuals that ultimately put themselves in that situation. Dont be so quick to publish your biased opinion or child like feelings if something negative arises. Also, keep in mind that youre paying professionals to remedy your problem and it may not be cheap. The firm specializes in delinquent taxpayers (very disorganized individuals) and often these individuals are in bad situations and are quick to point the finger at someone else. Provide Steve or any other associate junior/senior the documentation needed to solve your problem and it most likely can be resolved. Not all tax problems are negotiable, taxpayer beware !

I would not recommend this firm. The pricing is outrageous and a secret until they give you a bill. I inquired about whether I needed to contact the IRS & VA TAX to work out a payment arrangement and was sent all kinds of POA forms but never told this would be additional charges. Well, the IRS never received anything and was threatening to freeze our bank accounts and file liens against our property..I called them and it took 45 minutes and everything was set. Rue did give us a credit for that but not the VA tax..thats $450 folks..ridiculous. I didnt charge them for my 45 minutes on the phone to fix their mistake..live and learn..never again!

I met with Melanie Butler for a consultation on my income tax. She was extremely delightful and helpful. She seemed very trustworthy and knowledgeable. I ultimately decided to complete my taxes on my own, and unfortunately cannot speak on their actual services. But as my financial situation grows increasingly complex I would not hesitate to return for their assistance.

Doing taxes on my own may be quicker but going here helped me save more money! I loved the service, the friendly staff and will definitely be coming back. 5 stars for sure!

I was referred to Rue & Associates by one of my friends and couldnt be happier working with them. They are incredibly responsive and have been helpful with larger tasks (such as setting up my LLC, setting up my payroll system, etc.), as well as any quick one-off questions that I may have. Their fees are reasonable and I love not having to try to figure out all of the back-end bookkeeping and filing myself. I would highly recommend Rue & Associates to anyone and have already referred a few people to them.

Professional Tax service that can handle both the little and big jobs. Quick and efficient and would definitely recommend to the average person like me that has a huge problem doing taxes!

My experience with Rue and Associates started out on a positive note. I met with Steve and Neil to discuss an amended tax return. Neil, who i can only imagine was a junior associate, handled all of my interactions after the preliminary meeting. Neil was disorganized at best. He wrote his notes on scraps of paper and didnt follow up when he said he would. He frequently told me i have to check with Steve which didnt inspire much confidence on my end. After all of my paperwork was mailed off and the matter closed i was charged triple by original quote. After i discovered the overcharge i tried to contact Randi in the billing department via voicemail and email. Finally a new Associate, Hugh, was able to contact Randi via email and copied me on the interaction. The response I got was that my costs were more because Steve didnt include filing the taxes in my original quote. OK...Ill eat the extra $500 i was charged and not quoted but the extra $525 Neil took my check for was already taken out of my bank account was too much for me to stomach. After a week of voicemails and emails that Randi never responded to, I drove to their office to see if i could catch Randi in person. When she introduced herself i asked if she had gotten my voicemails or emails. She responded, Yes i thought you were working through Hugh, I told him i would issue the refund. Bottom line is this firm didnt honor the original quote and couldnt even bother to return a phone call when i was due a refund for a full week. I had to physically leave my job to drive to their office to get a resolution. This is the last time i will use their services and i highly recommend using another firm if you are looking. Besides Hugh and the wonderful ladies at reception this company is not interested in customer service.

I paid this company $ 500.00 to file my 2017 taxes. I paid taxes in 2 different states. Both states sent me bills. I have received letter from one that he said I receive a refund but noooo. I now owe due to the fact this company never sent in my W2. Now if it had happened with one state I would it the State fault. this happened with 2 states and the federal government. I paid over 1000.00 for a amended return (2016) due to military disability. was rejected due to incorrect paperwork. when I called and asked if they knew what happened was told they only file paperwork and were not responsible for anything after that.

Jung Park is very unethical and did a horrible job on the IRS Representation on 11/12. I dissolved my business entity when I moved out of state. He lied to the IRS that I didnt make any money, even though I was continuing to make income as SE! Now I owe $250K to the IRS because of his incompetency!! I found another accountant when I found out I will owe $1M for 2+ years!!!

Had such a great experience with them, they were fast, friendly and very helpful. I hope others use them for all their needs
