As a person, Melissa was very nice initially. As a divorce attorney, she’s the worst I’ve experienced after experiencing 5 total between my ex and I. Melissa didn’t incorporate a stipulation for my children’s college funds into my final divorce decree which is malpractice ...among countless other issues. I asked her to return some of her attorneys fees because this was her error - she refused and was beyond rude when I asked. I can’t afford to hire a malpractice attorney so this error has cost me/my children $50k+. I would never recommend Melissa to anyone after she botched my entire divorce. I’ve been in litigation for 3 years post divorce because there are so many errors in my divorce decree as wel.

I feel they are not interested in helping unless you are a full fee client.I was trying to find some immediate help for a motion for a temporary parenting plan being heard soon. After spending 10 minutes with the receptionist trying to find out if my legal plan covered family law, the receptionist spoke with one of the attorneys. At this point I was told that the firm is not taking on any more family law cases, which seems like something that should have been shared immediately, seems very suspicious. If no new cases were to be taken, the receptionist should have immediately known this.

Chris was absolutely wonderful! He took care of a car settlement for me and fought to get me the best price. He made sure to communicate with me every step of the way and did all the work of obtaining all documents needed. I was referred to the firm by a friend to handle my divorce, and readily agreed to pay $200 for an exploratory initial session. I was ready to move forward, but then noticed that they require two attorneys to be present on any trial date. When I pushed back on this policy, which my lawyer friends suggests is highly unusual for family law, and questioned the experience of the attorney that was assigned to me (which was three years overall, but little to no trial experience), they dropped me like a hot potato. If you have this kind of approach, running a firm with a bunch of junior attorneys, thus offering below market rates, thats fine, but be upfront about your fine print.
