Recommended by a neighbor, who had them do some masonry re-pointing and a flue liner for their furnace chimney.We had recently had a minor chimney fire, where a large chunk of creosote that was left in there by the previous chimney sweep had smouldered overnight. Our chimney also appeared to be built badly, with cracking bricks and a poorly-built smoke chamber.The previous cleaner we used had said there was a lot of glazing and creosote he couldnt remove without charging a large fee, and recommended we burn chemical creosote-removal sticks, every couple fires, to loosen the buildup.Other companies wanted to charge just to come out and have a look, a month or more out. Minuteman was able to schedule a visit the very next day. No charge to come, inspect, and point out what was needed vs. what wasnt.We thought the smoke chamber might need major revisions, but they assured us it was fine as-is, just needed to be cleaned properly, and showed us exactly what issues there were and how minor they were in reality.Minuteman could have charged us thousands to fix issues like other companies try to do, but there was none of the high-pressure sales like weve had from others in the past.They offered to clean in the same visit, for a reasonable price, and did a very thorough job.Highly recommended, will use again.

Minuteman chimney was slow to return our initial call and then refused to help us until next year. They didnt spend adequate time even assessing what we needed before saying call me next year, I am too busy. I had read all the positive reviews and thought their service would be better. It was very disappointing. I would not recommend them.

Really great guy, called him out of the blue on a Thursday when we didnt have heat because our boiler wouldnt stay running. He came out within a few hours and said our chimney was terribly blocked. He cleaned out what he could that day and then promised to come back on the following Monday to install a cleanout in order to reach the rest of the blockage. He came when he said he would and got us back up and running and at a reasonable price as well. After that we had him install a cap which was also a good job at a good price.

Great guy, competitively priced and most importantly honest! He wont upsell you on a new chimney, cap, etc if you really dont need it. He arrives on time, cleans your chimney and leaves the room and fireplace area cleaner than he found it. You might play telephone tag a few times initially to make an appointment but its worth it.
