The staff is very friendly and I have no problems with anyone. Nevertheless, they spend little time cleaning and when they do clean, it is obvious that the young people have no clue how to “clean “. The floors are ALWAYS dirty. Dust, paper, hair everywhere. It is clear that don’t see it and don’t take cleaning seriously. I’ve been a 10 year member. I’t was much cleaner at the old location and much cleaner at the 20+ locations I have visited.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The equipment and facilities are clean. PF makes sure that customers wear their masks and I feel that I can work out in a safe space.

I love everything about the Plant Fitness in Matthews! It is always clean. The staff if very friendly and helpful. We as a family have the Black card and have visited other locations. The Matthews locations is by far our favorite. We actually live closer to another location but prefer to drive to Matthews.

Planet fitness has always been above and beyond with equipment sanitation however now more than ever with CDC guidelines, social distancing and more I always feel safe coming here for a workout. The staff at the Matthews location are very friendly, the gym is spacious and always clean and I live the environment. Everytime I come here I know everyone from the front desk and beyond are going to be friendly and get me excited and motivated for my workout. The Matthews location is awesome!

This is a very nice facility with helpful staff. I love that they have the stand up tanning beds as well.

This was my first time working out at the new location, and its nice! I like that they are following the new CDC guidelines and allowing fully vaccinated people to not wear a mask. Overall, I was very pleased.

Bought a membership for a planet fitness which was exclusive to a location that has been closed for six months. Membership didn’t apply to any other location this company charged my account till last month for a location that was closed... Planet fitness is shady. You guys need to figure out a more effective way to not steal from people or you will be investigated by people for this stuff. It a small amount of money I get the scam but it shouldn’t be happening

I slept by my girlfriends house last night and then when I left this morning I want to hit the gym before heading back downtown. I found this 24 hour planet fitness gym right near her house and I have to say that it’s probably one of the cleanest and well-maintained planet fitness gyms that I’ve been to here in Charlotte. Good job guys

Normally this club is great. Clean and the staff are friendly. However no one has cleaned the women’s locker room in days. The toilets are splashed with urine, covered in hair, and one is completely plugged. The front desk said they are trying to hire someone. How long do we have to wait? Disgusting!

I went in to cancel three months ago. They said we can put a freeze on your account if you want to wait a few months and decide to cancel them. Great I thought. Obviously they just want my annual fee to hit and it did. Tried to cancel and get refund and they just smugly told me there was nothing they could do. Like we are in a pandemic, I know you guys are taking ppp money. You can’t refund people? So now I’m forced to pay annual fee for two days of a year membership. Don’t trust these people. Policy is made by people. It can be adjusted.

Unfortunately after years of good relations with PF, I am now having to report these charges to the bank as they up and moved locations without notification.“Sorry, we sent an email”Really!? Burden of proof is on you!I understand your business suffered under the pandemic, but this is purely inappropriate to charge without proper communication and confirmation of receipt of that communication.

Really good prices and I love that tanning and massage chairs/tables are available. The locker rooms are nice as well. There are a few machines they dont have that I wish they did like the Jacobs ladder, etc. but for the 10-20 dollars a month you cant beat it

I havent actually worked out yet here at the new location, just recently opened, but did stop in to talk with the staff, see how things were laid out and they invited me to tour through the place. Im really quite impressed with the upgrades to this new location, its layout, and their sanitation.

They make you wear a mask even when you are running on a treadmill. How do they expect you to do that without passing out from lack of oxygen? Also I had my mask below my nose like everyone else in there so we can breathe and the employee singled me out about it. They need to rethink their covid policies. Their website says you only have to wear it in between machines but clearly they enforce something totally different.

Nice new open clean well ventilated. Canceled my membership because the only organized thing they have is the 30 minute workout but people stay in one spot so you cant use it the way its meant to be used. Had a bad experience.

Planet Fitness STEALS money from you and doesn’t take responsibility or refund you your money when they were the ones who messed up. I had downgraded from the Black card to basic white card and they were still charging me 22.06 for months, all the manager could say was “sorry” Bc I did not have a “home gym” when I have been going to the one on Sardis after they gave me the White card. My bf and I both downgraded at the same time and his went through but not mine and we had the same home gym. Planet Fitness are THIEVES.

Due to the pandemic I haven’t use my membership in over a year. I noticed on my bank account statement that they charged me a $39 membership fee. I went in to cancel my membership and asked for a refund of the $39 membership fee. They refused and also refused to give me the name or number of someone else that I could talk to. Very disappointed!!

Planet Fitness as a whole will take your money even after you have cancelled your membership so please be careful. I cancelled last month and the money was still taken out this month. When I do go back to the gym it will not be with PLANET FITNESS. Anytime Fitness has great sales and better facilities may be a great idea to look into them I know I am.

Couldn’t pay me to go this gym. Do not trust them. They will screw you out of money during a pandemic. Do not trust these people. They are evil.

This the cleanest Planet Fitness Ive visited thus far. Due to a job transfer from Dallas Texas to Charlotte NC...of course, I had to transfer Gym locations. I actually went to cancel my membership. Surprised at the cleanliness and vibe of the place... I decided not the cancel🤔 After a week I cancelled due to my new job location ( Innovation Park) having a Gym on the premises..... which is also VERY nice. Highly recommended

I was actually really disappointed with their COVID precautions. I didnt see anyone cleaning machines the entire time I was in there. Other members werent wiping off machines after they finished and some people were even walking to and from places without masks on. It didnt seem like the staff cared about the safety of their members because there was no implementation to their policies. Great membership price but poor safety precautions.

I like everything about this gym. I like the new location and the layout and size. Has all the machines that I need.

This is by far one of the best PF locations in Charlotte. Its always clean, well staffed, friendly, it smells good. It can get pretty busy sometimes but youre hardly ever waiting too long to use the equipment.

Yes i must say that Planet Fitness is one of the best places to go and build your body and see results in no time. I love the atmosphere there, no one to judge u or make u feel self conscious about your self. Only 10$ a month,, u cant beat that!!, So looking foward to my next workout.

Great for ppl on a budget and dont want to be intimidated by Gym Heads. They do trainers that can show how to properly use the equipment. They will write up a exercise plan to Focus on your trouble areas. You must ask for a trainer at the desk. This center has ample parking as well.

Although I was only a member for a short time, I was pleased with this location. The facility is clean and the equipment is well maintained with instructions that beginners can follow. My only suggestion would be to allow credit/debit as a form of payment.

Great Planet Fitness location. You will find some very nice people working the front counter here. They also have a section where you have to climb up some stairs and there is a loft with some extra equipment. All around good Planet Fitness.

I joined this gem to simply go with a friend of mine, I have another gym membership with a gym that I like better personally that is a lot more convenient for where I live so after my friend quit going 10 months into starting my membership, I come back to the location as I see that they have withdrawn 39 and $22 out of my account and the Amanda and Richard front desk representatives both look up my account and tell me that I am some type of guest account which makes no sense because they are pulling money out of my account. I tell them whatever type of membership or whatever is going on I want canceled even if I have to pay some type of termination fee or something like that. They refused to cancel my membership stating that I am not allowed to cancel my membership there. This literally makes no sense at all bad they make it almost impossible to cancel Your membership at a location when you have been going there the entire time. Long story short I had to flag all of the transactions with my bank as fraud to be able to cancel this membership

I love the flexibility to work out at whatever time, 3am or 3pm. Well equipped,clean facilities and friendly helpful staff. I mostly go during the late night/early am and I always feel safe and comfortable.

I’ve been with this gym for a while now. The facility is decent and the staff is nice. The men’s showers are certainly an issue though. A few months ago they took out the soap dispensers and now I only see where two out of the 4 showers are working. Water pressure is really bad and the showers don’t look like they’ve been cleaned. One is missing a faucet handle and the other doesn’t drop water at all when you turn the faucet. If my annual membership fee of 40 dollars along with everyone else’s 40 dollars is charged, that money needs to be used to upkeep the facility. It would also be good if the staff could keep an eye on kids that hang out in groups around machines and sit at them having conversations instead of using them. Of course they’ll say their using the machines too. I also sometimes see some people trying to hold two machines at once by putting rags or belongings near it while using another one. I never see the staff addressing this. Other than those things not too bad of a place for 22 a month.

I really like this gym. Have been to several other gyms like this, this is the only one that provides consistent great service without trying to sell you something more. Great job guys.

A friend of mine was interested in purchasing a membership here at Planet Fitness, so i offered to come up here with her and look over the contract with her. Arriving first, i spoke with the assistant manager; her name is Neiby. A very nice, friendly, outgoing and personable young lady. This place is fantastic. If youre a black card member, the spa and tanning area is included in your monthly membership. There are sanitation stations throughout, for cleaning the machines, both pre and post-workout. The bathrooms are large and well-maintained. I would highly recommend this particular Planet Fitness. And yes, my friend purchased a membership. Well worth the cost. Whoever needs to get in shape, spend little money and receive the best personal trainer needs to sign up for a black card @ planet fitness!, very impressed with this facility cleanliness, no waiting for machines to be available, classes available from early morning till eve, theres always a trainer on site ready to answer questions and customize exercises to target your desired areas. If you decide to enroll, lookout for Olukunle O Akindahusni, he’ll make you sweat and enjoy every second of it! This gym has become my favorite out of all Charlotte area.

Fantastic new location!

Never really crowded, which I love. Mostly older people frequent this one. I like to use the stair climber and machines for strength training. Restroom is clean and locker room is average size.

Jacky at the front desk makes my day every time I come here. She has so much energy that I need right before my nightly workouts!

Staff is always friendly. Clean facility. Doesnt get as busy as some of the other PFs.

Nice gym, nice location. My only complaint is there are 2 girls who spend a lot of time in the gym just sitting on one of the mats in a corner, listening to music/charging their phone/laughing being loud and obnoxious and no one has done anything about it. I go to the gym 3 times a week and they are always there. I think that is unacceptable.

I like that there is enough cardio equipment that you never have to wait for a machine. The gym is always clean and the staff is friendly.

Can not stand this particular location, horribly rude staff with piss poor attitudes. Will not return to this location! With so many other competitors having similar pricing if not better, as a consumer it’s just not worth it.

$10 per month for a huge variety of machines and typically no wait to get on them really cant be beat. Its pretty much self directed. And other services like tanning and massage chairs are extra.

Ive been away for this particular Planet Fitness for about a year. Coming back I see that they have several new machines and more massage chairs. Although list location is still really small it still has a lot what you need to get the job done.

Its good for how much it costs. My only complaint is the lack of free weights. So if lifting is your goal this may not be the best place. It does have a lot of weight machines but I imagine most people serious about lifting want free weights.
