Terrible customer service. I was in an accident last week and picked up a car that was ran down shaking and tires sliding in the snow. I called and spoke to the manager on duty she told me to come in she had a car. When I get there the car was on hold for an oil change. Was told the car would be ready the next morning........call the next day and it wasn’t ready. Didn’t end up getting the car until almost 5pm that I had to go get. Get there it still wasn’t ready. Just getting out of the hospital it was very frustrating. The manager was very rude and unprofessional. After this insurance claim I would never rent here again! Very unprofessional!

One star is actually too much! This has been the worst experience of renting a car ever. This facility was unprofessional, please don’t rent from here if you have a deadline or an emergency. We were not inform that the minivan we reserved was unavailable until the day of trying to take our daughter back to school. We were delayed, didn’t meet our deadline to take her back, and ended up spending more money because we needed to spend the night. Terrible customer service experience and very incompetent!

This location provided the worst customer service ever. They did not have the vehicle that we ordered and prepaid for in stock. We were charged an additional $200 black tax in order to rent a downgraded car. The staff was not helpful and poorly trained. We waited for over an hour while our representative took care of other people and not resolving our situation. We will never book with Hertz again and intend on spreading the word. Very very disappointing.

I normally rent from this location with no problems. Well this weekend I was given a car that I feel is unsafe!! 1 the breaks are bad (the car shakes when you break as if theyre trying to catch) and 2. Doesnt accelerate (when you hit the gas it doesnt take off). I learned that on the road to the cabins we were staying at over the weekend (4 hr drive turned into 5 1/2 hrs). upon returning I waited until the office opened to call to try to get into another vehicle. The first time I called was around 10:30 the agent Candace said to call back around 1/1:30 or that she would call back. Noting.. I call back at 1:37 where I was told they had a customer w/ the same size reservation, but she had to check w/ her manager Mary to see if she could give me that vehicle and have another cleaned out for the other customer. FINE. I was put on a long hold before being hung up on! I called back twice and got no answer. I waited awhile and called again and finally the same agent answered stating oh we were disconnected (they have caller I.D & my # on file.. Why wasnt I called back?), but they have a compact car (downsize) they could give me. Absolutely not!! I didnt pay to be inconvenienced and downsized!!! 😒🙄 So I was then placed on a 10 minute hold (again) before the manager got on and I had to explain again the situation. After she tried again offering me a compact car and me declining... She said the only thing to do was to call roadside assistant and they help find a location w/ a vehicle in my rental category. So Im like so you expect me to drive a vehicle I feel unsafe driving to a location TBA when Im up the street at work. She proceeds to tell me that or they can tow the vehicle and I can find a ride to the new location 🤦🏽‍♀️😳 Unbelievable!!! Im definitely disappointed and currently still trying to get in touch w/ someone to get a different vehicle. Oh yeah I called and asked for the corporate # and was given the 1800 # I already had 😩 Oh and I was told by the manager they would call me if they got something before they closed at 5, but get this they close at 4 due to COVID! Smh

Was involved in an accident and had to rent a car. Went to Hertz and they gave me this humongous Dodge Ram truck that I can barely climb in and out of with my bad legs. Im waiting on a call from them to exchange this for something a little lower to the ground that I can navigate but Im going to wait and see if they called me like they said they were other than that Im very disappointed. Im over 60 years old and I cannot be climbing in and out of this humongous vehicle. I still await their phone call to swap this car for something else

Went on Google to check info for Hertz because thats the rental car company AAA uses for their car rental partner ship for discounts. Sadly I will not be able to use then because their hours are not convenient for some peoples work schedule. It would be nice if they were open a little later in the evening.

Do not patronize this office. My son rental car was impounded by the Chicago Heights police Dept because his friend had marijuana in her purse This rental company kept the car impounded as of this writing for 6 days collecting daily rental from the insurance company. My son and I repeatedly called the assistant manager Matt and a rep Robert for assistance in getting the car out so that the daily impoundment fees wont be astronomical but we were not assisted. The workers at this office were friendly when talking to them but did absolutely nothing with assisting us. Today I called and was placed on hold and Matt never came back to the phone. Avoiding me is unprofessional as well as not following up on when the car will be picked up. Hertz is eager to rent you a car but no one was eager to find out when the car would be picked up. I will never patronize this office in the future and I will contact the Better Business Bureau on how this situation was handled. To this date we still dont know when the car will be picked up. There is so much more I can write but I include in detail in my letter to the better business Bureau and to their coporate office.Do not patronize this office

Only issue is the actual location...seems kinda ghetto having the office in the corner of a car dealership! And because of the location you cant return a car when its closed! Staff nice, service was pretty fast, just lousey location!

It appears that they dont take very good care of thier cars. I went through 2 cars before I got one that was satisfactory. The first car still had a car seat in it and the second had a big plug in it. The rep did however; exchange with no problem. None of the cars were washed. I just think they could do better!

I think there were a couple of misunderstandings as to when, what time and where I was supposed to get picked up for my car. And I dont understand how it happened because when we spoke yesterday, there were no alternate times. I was told to call when I arrived at the place where I dropped my car off. When I called, they said I was scheduled to pick up my rental at 1p tomorrow from them. After correcting the date and time, I was asked when I would be in to pick the car up. So I think my reservation may have gotten mixed with someone elses. After getting it corrected, Hertz was apologetic and very courteous. The experience at Hertz was very good. I think it was a miscommunication between scheduling and the actual action. Hopefully the return experience will be without issues.

Not very happy with your service, first of all, you guys had a Lyft to give me a ride, to get a rental, car shook going over 55, the minute I arrived where I was going, the check engine light came on, called sat and waited on the phone for 20 mins, so I hung up. Wanted you guys to trade cars, no such luck. Also tires were bald, I wont be coming back or ever renting a car from you again.

Worse car rental experience ever! They are all over the place and very unorganized! Took them days to pick up the rental vehicle from the auto body shop because they were short staffed. Had a pick up/drop off service with Lyft/Uber that was suddenly terminated within 2 weeks of me picking up my rental vehicle. Just horrible! If they werent recommended by my car insurance company I would have gone with Enterprise!

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the second time I have made a reservation for a mini van only to find out none were available when I went to pick up. My reservation was made 2 weeks ago and no one cintacts me to tell me none were available. On top of that the agents in Mattesson could care less.

Kind of off the beaten path and hard to find but once you find it you go through the process very quickly if you have a gold card but they do not accept debit cards unless you have a credit card
