I got Deceived and Bamboozled. I drove 5 hours away to Gerald of Matteson dealer and the internet & sticker on the car said 35 grand. But when it was time to do the deal they tack on an extra 4 grand for an market value adjustment. They told me ALL the car dealers are charging this fee because of low inventory. How is this my fault? I drove 5 hours for this car and they refused to take the fee off. I felt under duress so I signed the contract anyway. The next day brother bought a car from a different dealer. They tried the same scam (market value adjustment). He called them out on it, and they took the fee off immediately. So Gerald ‘s facility told me Fake News. Even though I like the car, I will forever look at it as the car Gerald ripped me off on. So when you go here beware of the market value adjustment scam. I wish they would be abashed and refund the 4 grand… I feel abused and cheated

Really poor service by service department. Was not able to diagnosis a simple starter that needed to be replaced. Try to blame issues on an “after market” remote starter—which wasn’t-it was a genuine Honda accessory. It was just a range extender that they saw added inside car. Didn’t understand that electrical codes that computer was giving them were “soft” codes that needed to be cleared. Another dealer was able to figure my issue out out by “jumping” the starter and that there was a “dead spot” in it. Sucks for them because they lost out in the revenue. This place gave me the run around big time.

Terrible experience. Our Honda broke down traveling across country and they wouldn’t even plug it in to diagnose for us, despite the fact we were stranded. Horrible customer service - wouldn’t return phone calls and when they did they made us wait 2 hours to tell us they wouldn’t look at it, so it was too late to call somewhere else on a Saturday. Would not spend my money here when they are not willing to even help in an emergency.

Jaime was amazing! For the first time, I felt like a salesperson listened to me and understood what I wanted and asked for. She was able to work with me and in the end, she got what she needed and I got what I needed! She was able to answer all of my questions and I could tell she was prepared and knew what she was doing! I went for some minor issues with my car and what happened is that probably not going back. So, first of all they have some teenagers as sales persons who they looking you while laughing, and they talk foreign language.The same people took some other individuals to the service reception, and they showing my car. My car had open windows and luckily I was there while they were looking inside “MY CAR.” After, the mechanic didn’t found issues on my car according my complaints . They kept the car 4 hours and they found that everything is ok. The mechanic removed my dash camera from the power when she took it for test drive. I checked the gas consumption from the computer, and it was high . She was speeding with “MY CAR.”By the way, I am traveling 33 miles one way to visit this dealership, and it makes me thinking “ lifetime warranty,” they don’t gonna find any issue even if the car is smoking. Oh I almost forgot, the lady who writes the issues at the service reception sat on the edge of the bucket seat. She apologized with excuse that she didn’t know; lack of training.

Jamie Storako was awesome. She was personable, showed empathy, worked hard to sell us on buying a car from her but wasnt pushy at all, and went the extra mile. She had the car washed twice to make sure it was spotless. In addition, the extra set of keys for the car were missing. She promised she would track them down and mail them to us. Sure enough, the keys arrived in the mail yesterday, only 4 business days after we purchased the car.

Overall it was a good experience no complains. They had the vehicle I had in mind of getting in stock. Test drove it and had my truck appraised at the same time came back in and started the paper work. Salesman (devin) was very knowledgeable about the vehicle I was buying and answered all my questions. The finance guy (Felix) was also second to none the guy has been doing doing it for a long time and it shows. After all I’d definitely do it all over.

I liked how Maria was honest with me about the interior of the Acura I purchased and when I drove there from Aurora she even got the vehicle on a lift so I could see the undercarriage of the car. I liked how Vosko went out of his way to get me the wheel lock (that was overlooked by me before I left) so I wouldn’t have any issues with changing a flat tire in the future.

The change from Planet Honda, from a service perspective, was disappointing. From a service tech who recommended 4 new tires on a CRV that had new tires put on just over a year ago, to calls / texts / emails to speak with a service manager that were simply never returned when I had questions, to misplacing the car when my daughter arrived for pick up and it taking 30 minutes to procure, it was simply not what I expect from Honda. Disturbing on a variety of levels. Will simply not return.EDIT:. Your response was to reach out to you to discuss further. I tried, as stated above. Four times to be exact. No returned calls or emails. What makes this time different?

I had a bad sales experience. I thought I was prepared to when I went in to Gerald Honda to consider a new car. Apparently I was not ready because when I got home with my new car and looked over the contract some more, I felt ripped off. I shouldn’t have to be an expert at buying cars to get a fair contract. In addition, I was promised wheel locks on my tires. But when I looked in my glove compartment, weeks later, I found a pack of wheel locks in there. I was disappointed because I expected the wheel locks to be on my tires when I left the dealer.However, I did not realize the General Manager had reached out to me after reading my review of Gerald Honda. That speaks volumes in and of itself, which is a good thing. Good enough for me to change my rating. But I still want my locks on the tires instead of in the glove compartment.

This place is the definition of a “stealership”. We’ve been leasing a car for nearly 3 years. The lease is up this month. The windshield washer pump was not working. I assumed because of the intense cold. Brought it in and they proceeded to pour warm water on the pump for 10 minutes which fixed the issue. The pump was frozen. They didn’t replace the pump or anything. Nothing new was installed. They wanted to charge $150 for 10 minutes of chatting and running warm water. I was watching them through the glass. It turns out the car is 6 days out of warranty and they can’t do a simple courtesy for a customer. I talked the manger down to $75 but still felt robbed. We were going to lease another car through them but this solidified our decision to be a strong NO. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST. This place probably takes advantage of women and the elderly because they don’t know what is usually wrong with their car and they just believe whatever the dealer says is wrong. Next time pretend to be working for another 30 minutes and keep the car away from customer view.

I brought my Honda Civic hatchback to this dealership to get it fix cause it was the closest to my job. They did a good job on my control arm and ball joints, but when they did the oil change they didn’t reset my dashboard. So now I don’t know when to change my oil. And another issue I have a tool bag in my trunk and my jacket had drill bits. My drill went missing and also drill bits from my jacket. And I’m always calling they keep transferring me to different people and no one pick up the phone I leave voice mail i never get a call back. By far the bad service I ever gotten.Don’t bring your car to this dealership.

We first spoke to Maria from the internet sales department. She was knowledgeable and gave us a good price over the phone which was lower than a price offered to us by another dealership. That and the lifetime powertrain warranty got us in the door. When we came into the dealership we worked with Mike B who answered our many questions with patience and respect. We felt like valued customers from the moment he held the door open for us when we first arrived. We purchased a 2021 Accord and Gerald Honda honored the price that was first given to us by Maria over the phone. No haggling. Great experience.

I have only written a few google reviews in my life. I only do it when I receive exceptional or horrific service. I was at the Honda service department in Matteson yesterday and after my car was looked at I encountered two of the most nicest young men. Jonathan and Jason both greeted me and was extremely helpful. A young lady (I didnt get her name) brought my car closer to me. Jason helped me get into my car. He even helped me with my seat belt. Jonathan took all my information he needed to service me from a socially distant chair nearby...allowing me to not run back and forth. Did I mention that I currently have a broken left knee and a fractured right ankle. They didnt know that but Im sure they noticed my braces. I didnt have to beg for great customer service, like I have had to do in other establishments...these three wonderful people simply was amazing and delightful! Thank you SO very much for focusing on us customers. This crippled lady really appreciates you all. I will be telling others of my experience and I will be back for more services.

I came to this dealership after finding a car I liked on CarGuru.We test drove the vehicle and decided we wanted to move forward. The person we were working with, Adam, did not really go over any of the features of the car. He also tried to tack on an additional $999 to the car’s price. This was for some kind of vehicle package (nitrogen in the tires? Idk) We asked for a lower price on the car he said okay I’ll get rid of this pack and crossed it off - so I wrote out the new price and signed off on it and verified that that was correct.I came in with a prequalification for a loan with a very good rate. But Adam then said no we can get you something better. My dad and I both said why- we already have a good rate and you work with Capital one. He said well just run it with Honda. He then inquired with FOUR banks. It’s super frustrating when the dealer continues to talk over you, rush you, and come back empty handed after promising a better deal.Once we were in financing- they did not honor the paper they had me sign with the new price and then proceeded to explain to me what the paper meant. Yes I know that you tried to add on 999$ (On a used car for no reason) but you also then said let’s just take that off the price. They spoke to me like I couldn’t comprehend what they were saying. As soon as I didn’t want to add on another package (which would increase my monthly payment almost $100) the tone changed in the room.Everything felt rushed, every question we had was brushed off. The real kickers were at the end of our visit after purchasing the car. I had brought up that the center console interior was covered in sticky coffee at the beginning- and after buying the car it still hadn’t been cleaned. They took it back, cleaned what was visible without picking up the moving parts and it was still sticky in coffee.There was also a question about the engine cover and my dad just wanted to verify that the new Honda Accords no longer had covers. He just wanted to see under the hood of one and when we asked Adam- he seemed pretty upset about it.Yes we did end up buying the car. I did see other car salespeople taking the time to go over everything with other buyers but we just didn’t get that lucky. Hopefully others have a better experience.

My entire experience with this location was HORRIBLE. My car was towed in on a Friday. I was given a total Friday evening then received a call Saturday. After calling several times Saturday just to tell them to start work on my car, John did not call me back. On Monday, I had to call two times and express my frustration in order to receive call back. Once I finally talked to John, I was told a part had to be ordered but would be there the next day and my car should be done. Tuesday comes and by the afternoon I was not given an update so I called AGAIN. Just to be told they wouldnt have time to get to my car that day. All of this time, there was no rental available so I was spending extra money on Uber to get to work. Wednesday gets here and my car STILL isnt done so they offer a rental. Thry bring a rental and the gas light is on so there is no gas in it. My car was not ready until Friday which means I waited an entire WEEK for repairs that should have only taken a day or two. Its unfortunate that car dealers think they can take advantage of women as if we arent as knowledgeable. I will NEVER visit this location again!

We have had great past experience with the service Department at This location!Isaiah was a wonderful sales man with in-depth knowledge of not only Honda’s but other brands too. When I say we ask a LOT of questions- we really really do!!He was patient and kind through the whole experience!If you need service or a purchase Gerald Honda is the best!!

We sought out Gerald Honda as our local dealer would not work with us with pricing. Might we tell you we traveled 5 hours away to buy a CR-V from Gerald Honda. Reason why? Their price and incentives COULD NOT be beaten. It was WORTH THE DRIVE! Although we had a slight hiccup with the keys we were provided excellent customer service from Maria, Michael, Monet, and Risto in finance.Thank you again for your time and efforts! They offered a deal on a trade-in that was 4,800 less than what I received elsewhere. To call them crooks is unfair to thieves. At least thieves use a weapon. These manipulators use a smile and a handshake.
