I recently moved out of MCTVs service area and had to cancel my service. It was so easy canceling my service. The representatives were super helpful and friendly and didnt try to talk me into staying or upgrading like other carriers do. When I dropped off my modem and router, the process only took about 1 minute and I was on my way, which was a relief considering these things usually take forever.
They run a monopoly in our city and provide terrible internet speeds, prices, and services. Honestly hoping Spectrum can buy them out and take over service. Spectrum offers 10x the speed of Massillon for the same price. They also just changed their Google profile to remove any negative reviews they had in the past if that says anything...
Absolutely horrible service have been receiving there service for years because quite frankly they run a monopoly we simply do not receive the speed we pay for and have called several times and dealt with the same answe that it’s “not on there end” 0/10 do not recommend

Turned my equipment in 5 days early and then was told I didn’t a month later. Sat on the phone for 20 mins and got hung up on.
We havent even had our internet installed yet and already disappointed. Had a scheduled installation a week in advance, for today 04-16-21 from anywhere between 8-12. My fiance took a half a day off to be there when the guy showed up, only for the guy to apparently knock on our door multiple times and say we werent there, that no one was there and left his card. When in fact we were there. Looked at our cameras and no one even came to our door, and there was no card. I was on the phone with them because no one showed up, just to be told this lie and then they wont be able to send anyone out until Wednesday evening....were really frustrated for we already lost work to be home, schedule a week in advance and they push it back by another 5 days because of their error/lie.
Im very disappointed in this company as the WIFI will just shut off and not work for multiple hours at a time. As a gamer this is horrible as every time I want to play I cant even connect to internet. I even us an Ethernet and it still doesnt work. Ill restart and trouble shoot and it still wont work. In conclusion PLEASE DONT BUY.
You can send e-mail and maybe stream video with their most expensive package. Dont even attempt to game online because their ping is outrageous. About 100-500ms ping almost constantly. They just recommend a new modem everytime they slow your internet down. I never get even close to the 100mbs I pay for, even when hard wired to the router.
I do not like my cable bill but do love the service Massillon Cable provides. Called today with a telephone, WiFi speed question. Was in phone que for seconds and Mike was very helpful. He took time and gave his personal extension for any other questions. He offered to walk me through my router set up on the phone.

I have been a loyal customer for many years trying to support local. Problem is cost keeps going up service, speeds get worse. There is talk of moving to allow other companies to compete in this area. I will be first to sign up. Ridiculous prices for products received
This cable company is the absolute worse in Ohio that I have ever had the misfortune to be stuck with. Armstrong in Medina was bad but MCTV takes the cake. If any other company could get passed the monopoly they have, MCTV would be put out of business. The speeds they say they have seldom are the speeds you receive. If it is not down and being worked on they still expect you to pay as if you have the service anyway. To the owners of MCTV I hope you get the exact service you that you give your customers.
The single only reason that I currently use MCTV is that they have a monopoly over my area. If given a chance I would immediately switch providers.

Service is good but prices are wild. Cable shuts out a lot for short periods . I swear it goes up in price often. People who work there an service guys were nice an helpful. Had no problem getting someone to help. Main thing was how much it costs. Know a lot of people who finally cancelled it as I did as well.

Customer service is nothing short of just plain out terrible, their service is terrible, their internet is terrible but yet they have a monopoly in Perry township stopping spectrum from spreading their services out so people have actual choices
We’ve had MCTV for about a year now. Installer was professional and explained everything.Speeds are always pretty close to what we are paying for. Have never had to call customer service for anything.Only problem we had is the contractor who was running new fiber optic lines in our neighborhood clipped our main underground power lines.When I informed Mctv, they took care of it that day.

Its the year 2019 and I cant even pay for more than 5Mbps upload speed. I have important video conferences that I constantly have issues with. Download is fine but upload is absolutely terrible for producing content, broadcasting, and video conferencing.Not to mention, pricing is way overpriced. Id overlook that if there was some kind of scalability and improvement of their services over the years, but were still stuck in the early 2000s with this speed.Average users wont care, because they dont understand that they deserve better or that theyre grossly overpaying for terrible speeds. They dont understand anything outside of their own little bubble of mediocrity. They dont care about home businesses, kids that are home schooled, self employed people that need to video conference. This is where people and technology are heading. Its more common than a lot of people understand.Telecommuting requires strong upload. Even if they delivered the 5 up, which they dont (and thats normal; youll never get the full up or down with any provider) - even if it was delivered - its still not enough for the modern purposes I mentioned.Do you see the problem? Even their maximum speeds are not enough for an average user that needs a good upload rate. And were stuck with it. No other company will provide at our location.

The customer service is great. But CABLE service!! I can not look at my phone and stream a show. When I was with DSL at 10 meg I could run 2 streaming devices and a few phones with no problem. It is sad service with no explanation. I CAN NOT WATCH A FOOTBALL GAME WHILE IM TYPING THIS. Ever 2-3 minutes buffering. This phone and my TV the only things running.
They have a monopoly on the area. High prices for services they provide. With no breaks of any kind. Internet to match. When I called for a break in the price due to not being happy with their prices they basically said goodbye. What happened to customer satisfaction?
Horrible service, pay for 100 Mbps internet, rarely run that speed,call them and have no answers for me, just tell me do stuff I have already done to correct it. Then blame the other services Im using, telling me the issue isnt them its everything else

Their product has always been terrible, especially considering the price, but lately the customer service has been awful too. Switched to AT&T (never thought that they would be better, as terrible as they are too).
I generally think this company is over priced and over rated I prefer any other company besides MCTV. There Internet Packages are way to OVERPRICED And I can assure you that there is a lot of different company out there that offer internet speeds that are faster and cable for a better and cheaper reasonable price. If their prices were not so ridiculous they wouldnt be that bad at all.
I have had the service for almost 3 years and havent really had the greatest experience. The internet buffers alot. My bigger issue is that I have no other choice of internet provider in my area because of their monoply and am stuck with Mediocre service. They seem overpriced compared to others as well. The technicians and customer service have been fine I guess. The 1 thing that really helped was ditching the junk router I was renting from them and buying a decent one at best buy. They also came out and moved my router and modem closer to a place where the signals have easier access to devices. Since then its been better which is a relief because I was so mad for a long time at the delays. I hope this helps someone with the same problem.

Lets be real about this company. Its only in business because it operates in a town that allows MCTV to have a monopoly with uncompetitive pricing. Slow internet speeds and wanted to charge me around $90 a month just for 100 up and 10 down Mbps speeds. Good news is that Verizon and TMobile plan on bringing in home internet thats runs off of 5G for only $50 a month. Ive been making sure to keep my entire neighborhood up to dates about Verizon and TMobile home internet so the entire block can ditch MCTV for VZW and TMobile. Just got Verizon home internet in massillon, so its finally time to ditch MCTV!!!!

Our cable went out on a Sunday and Alex was out Monday morning to get our cable up and running again. Any time I have called for any kind of help there knowledgeable, patient and helpful staff have always been there as well as their technicians like Alex. Excellent service!
I support MCTV because they are a local company in a world where there arent enough family owned businesses that actually care about their community. That does not mean they should get a free pass to price gouge us for mediocre service. The upload speeds are unacceptable and the download speeds are passable for a developing nation, but not for a country that is supposed to be leading the race on technology.They have said for years that they are rolling out fiber, but little noticeable progress has been made and the prices they plan to charge for fiber internet that is limited to 1/10th of its capability is outrageous. The customer support has been very good and they do work quickly when you have problems which is a benefit of the company. Overall I would recommend MCTV but if they want to keep us customers around, then they had better modernize before they are left in the dust for national operators with usable internet.
I am using data to review you guys because your terrible service is offline right now! I am trying to do work and all of a sudden the page just cant connect. This is absolutely appalling that I just lost all my progress of my work because of your terrible service. THREE HOURS OF WORK TO BE LOST IN MERE SECONDS! SHAME ON YOU GUYS! NOW I HAVE TO RESTART AND THEN GO TO WORK TOMORROW AT 6AM! I shouldnt have to buy a new house just so i can leave your terrible service. People say this is bad, but Ive had nothing but good service. Their support staff answer questions, theyre helpful, and ultimately an A+ service. I run several gaming rigs and there has never been lag. Be happy its not a Time-Warner company.
I have clients whom use Massillon cable service. Their services range from tv, phone, internet and business services. Their customer service has always been good and have never had a bad experience! Some negative reviews tend to be configuration issues; wireless, wireless range, and allegedly speed concerns. Lets see, I pay for the fastest Internet and it never goes as fast as its supposed to, it drops pretty often, and days like today when its completely out and not working, the number is busy when I try to call for over an hour. I run my business online and have nine employees, and I even am still locked into a contract with Time Warner cable for three years, from my prior location, but Im forced to use this terrible Internet and suffer accordingly due to their monopoly. This company is garbage. Nothing they tell you they will do or give you is true. You buy internet and they say you will have a certain download speed but that is rarely the speed you have. You call to fix it and they get it close (never the amount you pay for) and call it good bit your speeds crash within 24 hours. Worst cable/internet company out there. Stay away if you have any smarts.
This place has a literal monopoly in the area.They arent that helpful. There isnt much to gain from them other than internet. That by the way has a price tag not worth it. The service fluctuates terribly. Sometimes your internet is good, sometimes everything stops and there isnt one single thing you can do about it.Like I said though, no one in the area has another choice, all other services go through MCTV. This town sucks.
I cant believe all of the negative reviews on here. Their service isnt terrible. Pay your bill and youll be just fine. Ive used frontier and Hughes net and by far they are 500% better. Frontier was $60 for 12mbps. Now we have consistent speeds around 50mbps down and 3 up with no data cap for the same price. And no, Im not using only Facebook and sending emails. Sometimes there are 3 tvs streaming HD and 2 computers gaming online. If youre not getting those speeds maybe you should check your equipment. Routers should be replaced every few years as they are always on. They begin to deteriorate over time. And you should check your speed when connected directly to the modem with nothing else connected. And.... this isnt name your price. If you dont like whats offered for the price, go somewhere else. Hughes would love your business. More bandwidth for me.
Very poor internet and they have a monopoly in the area. What ever happened to competition? This is a highly populated area, how could this be occurring in the day and age. They should do the area a favor a go out of business. Very poor service, with a lot of problems. Extremely expensive for the cable, I have lived in this area for only 5 years and the rates have sky rocked during this time.
I see mixed reviews all over the place. Mainly it is either very bad or very good. I know there is faster internet at better prices in other areas of the country and world. Sadly in this area my options are limited. Although I have had service from other companies and this one by far surpasses them all in customer service. They will bend over backwards to help you out with any issues.
MCTV has always provided good service to our household. They are always friendly when I call and even worked to help me solve computer and email issues I was having on my end. Im not a high end user so I havent had tried to push the limits of the internet speeds but everything has worked well for us.I dont know what people are talking about with Time Warner. My parents have it and they are always having problems and getting a CS rep on the phone takes about 20 - 40 min, English is usually their second language. Time Warners service is pretty bad compared to MCTV
Unbelievably slow... $80 for 100 mbps is such a rip off, so we went to 50. Now TV streaming is always buffering without anything else using it. I cant wait for another provider to come into the area. They will continue to gouge us more and more until then.
I was having issues with my connection, they were pretty minor, but the customer service I received went above and beyond most other service providers. Pleasant to deal with, treated me like a person, I really couldnt be happier, they definitely went the extra smile! :)
I have to question the integrity of some of these negative reviews. My family and I have use this company for decades and the customer service is always excellent and their cable and internet services are reliable at a great price as compared to other cable companies.I think the only people who complain about prices are those who never left Massillon and dont know any better. I have lived in multiple other states and other places in Ohio, I have had cable and satellite in these places and MCTV is far and away the best I have experienced and for the best price.
They like to call me fifty times if Im one day late on payment. But if theyre equipment doesnt work correctly (which it never does because its cheap junk) they could care less. (My remotes for both my cable boxes hardly ever work. When I call about this and ask for upgraded equipment they just say that its going to be an extra charge and they cant help me if I dont pay the fee and drive the equipment back to them to exchange) Numerous complaint calls to them do nothing. Prices are way too high. Youll get a $150.00 bill from them eventually. ATT is $80 /month for same services. Spectrum is at least half the price. Im done . Switch providers now if you havent already.
Has anyone else notice the prices are going up, up, up ?we were paying $90.00 basic internet and cable. in less than two years we now pay 144.15! it just went up 20 more bucks from the last cable bill till this one. We dont buy any pay per views. Why??Get a clue cable companies, BASIC CABLE is 100.00 per month PERIOD. I might be going to antenna PERIOD. I will not be going to any At&T owned stuff thats for sure.

I could have paid for my own modem now. The service reps are stupid.Also, I noticed how they react to publicity here on Google plus... we cant seem to find an account under your name. First I would like to say that the fact Massillon cable has basically “monopolized” the Massillon area for cable and internet blows my mind.. I swore that was illegal. But on the the fact that their customer service is the WORST I’ve ever experienced from any company. They refuse to work with you and go their “extra smile”. They charge next months bill to your account half way through the previous month and then threaten you with a disconnect. You’re lucky to get half the advertised speed even during non peak hours. When you call to go over issues of them pre charging your account or with speed or anything, they tell you to basically suck it up, too bad and smile. This company is a joke.. all the way around. As soon as my cell phone contract is over, I will be switching to att who is the only other company allowed “in some places of Massillon”. Save yourself the time, stress and hard earned money and get your services elsewhere. You won’t regret it.. that I promise you.
If I could go lower than 1 star, I would. I pay $47 for 25 mbps (internet) a month. According to the various third-party speed tests Ive been doing on my connection lately, Im topping out at 6.5 mbps, not even close to the advertised amount. Theres no excuse for this. Im over-paying for lackluster service. Im actually considering switching really soon. I hear U-Verse isnt too bad and definitely cheaper. Dont let anybody tell you you dont have options; theres at least one other internet provider in the town of Massillon.
The internet service is awful. I am supposed to be getting 10 MB/s for download speed and the best I can get is 1.2. My dad is paying $25 a month for trash. I highly recommend a different provider.

I called to set up Internet service and the customer service rep was rude and unprofessional and told me that I had to come to the store and show my ID and a copy of my lease before I could even see how much it would be to set up service AT&T spectrum or any other Internet companies that I’ve called to set up service took my Social Security number and the rest of my personal information and quoted me a price Masland cable did not they were rude and unprofessional and I would recommend nobody go to them for Internet or any other service.
Well, if your kids do home school, or plan on gaming... you wont get far. We have the upgraded net, and it sucks lol

This is the only internet service we can get in our area. They raised the price, then reduced our service. And we still dont receive that. We deliver what we advertise is B.S. currently downloading at 5Mb/s. What a joke.
They throttle internet speeds constantly. Internet goes down multiple times a week. They are too set in their ways of being scummy to good paying customers to even lower their price to match Spectrum. If you are new to town, DO NOT use MCTV for anything.
If I could give less that 1 star I would, have unfortunatley been stuck with MC for over 10 years. All the 5 stars only browse Facebook all day. If you have more than a handful of devices all at once your internet good luck doing anything. It gets so bad to the point that not even emails can be sent. Their motto is go the extra smile but the only thing extra they do is take money out of your wallet and give you less than you pay for.

I have never had a problem with MCTV. From customer service to the technicians fixing an issue. All have been helpful, friendly and honest. MCTV doesnt try to pressure you into tv/internet service, unlike AT&T. Also, they are up front with their rates. No hidden fees or misleading wording. No contracts either.

I know this place had a lot of bad ratings from people in Massillon. But we are down in south eastern BFE Ohio and went from having a monopoly by Frontier (whose internet speeds and prices are completely outdated - max speeds down here were 2-3 mbps no matter what package you choose) to actually having an option that has proven to be everything it claimed.The employee who installed our internet was very nice and professional. We were promised 50mbps with MCTV and get it consistently. Weve only had one outtage, due to a fiber line being cut somehow after a wind storm. The whole town was out. I was able to call their customer service from my cell phone from the only corner in the house that gets a signal. The lady from MCTV was super nice and helpful. She called me back 3 times within the afternoon to update me on the status of the outtage. Even though it totally sucked not having internet for 8 hours lol, their customer service was fantastic and I really appreciated how thorough they were with following up.If you live in Massillon, per the other reviews, you may want to try a different company. But we are about 1 hour and 30 mins from Massillon and our internet has been amazing. Perhaps those reviews are older and MCTV has improved there as well. I hope so! We are very happy with our service, as are all the other people we know who signed up when MCTV became available in our area. Whatever you do, dont get Frontier...
Massillon Cable has horrible service, but they have the cutest most helpful service TECH!!!! I think his name was Chad, I was at a loss for words when he walked in my door so stunning and sweet. His voice was like angels singing hyms of love. Please come back Chad PLEASE!!!

They throttle you to oblivion the only people who leave good reviews use their internet for emails and facebook and dont know any better. if you download anything dont plan on playing anything for a week. i pay for 50/3 and i get about 1/4 if not less regularly. to bad they monopolize and milk your money, terrible company. if i could give less than 1 star i would.

I had a cable box replaced (dropped cable and phone and only have internet now). The service tech couldn’t take the time to hang the new box where the old one was. Just left it hanging. Not impressed with their service or customer service.

Im one of MCTVs biggest fans.I was very upset because I was getting awful HD service. I called and was told that they didnt have other reports in my area. They said they would be happy to come check it out, but also mentioned that it could be as simple as a loose connection. Im thinking no way. Bottom Line. .. It was a loose connection on my TV. Watched Ohio State on Perfect MCTV ! Very Happy Customer!

Im a Realtor and have used MCTV for many years, as well as recommending them to my clients! They are super to work with on all aspects of their Service.
I do not understand the negative reviews. I live in Brewster and we have excellent service. Very few internet problems. I have a friend on Spectrum and spent some time at his house taking care of dogs, etc. and their internet cannot even come close in reliability. Another friend just cancelled Spectrum because of all the problems she was having. The tech service is great at MCTV. They will walk you through a problem and fix it over the phone if possible. The only complaint that I have ever had is about a guy that works at the front desk. He is in the wrong job because he does not understand customer service.

I want to say I have had great experiences with MCTV. Every time I need to call their employees are the most courteous people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. No long wait times on the phone, they take their time and really try to help. I have one son in Oregon that travels and one son in singapore, when my internet went down I was afraid I would miss the message from my son. A very nice lady names Heather took a lot of time with me and scheduled someone to come out that evening. Mr.Eshelman was out here in less than 1/2 hr and 20 min later had everything fixed just in time to get my message from my son. Ive been with MCTV for 3 yrs and they are terrific. The internet sucks and i have a better version of it...either you need new employees or you should just start over all together.
I live not even 10 minutes from Massillon Cable and my internet still sucks. We pay for 100mbps and Im only getting 56mbps. Not to mention the high latency on games and videos!

My family and I have been with MCTV for over 15 years and have always been happy with their services. I have had Internet only with MCTV for at least 8 years and have never had a problem. There are outages of course, but they are rare and no more frequent than with anyone else. I once made the mistake years ago trying AT&T, and within a year went right back to MCTV. We are moving to Canton and most unfortunately cannot get MCTV at our new address.I am a software developer working from home and Ill say that while I always want more speed the advertised speeds have almost always been just about right on the mark for me. I test quite regularly and often find that slowness is usually due to the service Im attempting to use and not the available throughput from MCTV. Many people may not realize this but the 20MB download speed you can theoretically achieve from your ISP is really pretty useless if you are only able to get 300kbps from the service you are downloading from. Im not saying MCTV throughput never suffers, there have been times (usually during service disruption) where service still exists but is slow.It seems others have other less wonderful experiences than I have. Just bear in mind very few happy customers go to the extent to write a review, and reviews are often inundated with only the people who have had a bad experience.
We switched from Directv this past summer and have regretted the change. We have had issues with the cable tv from distorted pixels to frozen pictures. Called to report an issue and they did come right out and checked our lines. They determined it was in the main lines down the street and they would have it corrected within the next few days. Well, it has not been corrected. We have just put up with it until now, weve had enough. So, I called to report it and again they want to come out and check the lines in our house. Its not our lines, its the same problem!!!
