My husband is working up there and found out his mother was dying, he tried to get a car the minute yall opened to make it home because the Dr said she wouldnt make it through it the night. If he was able to get the car he would have been home in time to tell her goodbye, instead he was denied and his uncle had to drive from Oklahoma to Iowa and back to get him. His mother passed away 6:29 yesterday, because he wasnt able to get a car he wasnt able to be with his mother when she passed. Thank you

I ordered thru the call center if you do this (please check with the local office !! ) tThe only hiccup we had was a miscommunication between the local office and the call center about the necessity of a 3 row SUV. 2 adults and 3 older teens means 2 rows wont cut it.But they called me back with in 10 minutes to tell me they worked it out.so I rented for a family vacation the price was super reasonable conceidering saving the wear and tear on my car. It was approximately 400. For 8 days unlimited miles. We visited a 8 states on our trip. We loved the 2021 Ford Explorer we drove automatic everything. It took some getting used to but it was great lots of space and drove great

I had reserved a standard size SUV but upon arrival they didnt have one and thought I would be okay with a Rav 4. Not acceptable. We were leaving on a 10 day camping trip and there was no way all of our equipment would fit in the Rav.Ended up with a pickup truck which required that I go purchase a tarp, rachet straps, and bungee cords to cover everything up . Luckily we didnt run into any rain!Ive always had good experiences with Enterprise so this was a huge disappointment.

We have nothing but good things to say about the Mason City Enterprise location. Check out was easy, but what was most impressive was the follow up after the rental. We had a question regarding the gas refill policy and we also told them of an issue with the interior. These issues were expressed to someone answering phones on the nation wide 800 #. A day later I received a follow up call from someone at the Mason City store (forgive me for not remembering your name) who went above and beyond to not only answer the question we had, but took action that remedied the issues we had. Thanks and we look forward to doing business with MC Enterprise in the future.

We have rented cars at Enterprise in Mason City, Iowa, several times. Our latest rental was July 24 -27. The experience was great and safe. The Enterprise employee met us outside promptly and did the check out procedures in under ten minutes. Our return was handled equally as efficiently. Two rentals ago, we actually wrecked the rental by hitting a deer, and that experience was handled so professionally! These folks are great!

My rental agreement was for a full size vehicle, however, I was given the next size smaller, because the vehicle I requested was unavailable. Two of my passengers were over 62, this made for an uncomfortable ride. Because I use points, the only offer made was I didnt need to fill the vehicle back up prior to return.

Employees seemed happy and helpful to get me into a vehicle but overall just not a good experience working with Enterprise of Mason City. Rented a vehicle from them to attend a fellow Marines funeral in Texas this weekend. Gave them a heads up a few days in advance and they still had nothing available until 4 minutes before they closed for the day. Not a big deal, inconvenient yes but things happen, however my issue comes with the returning of the vehicle. As most everyone in the state is aware 90% of the roads are closed. I-35 is completely shut down. I have no way to get back home, and so I am stuck with the charges building up for days that I am unable to return this rental car when if it wasnt for the roads I would have been home already. I called when they opened to see if there was anything they could do to help me out. I was told they would call a manager and get right back to me. Well after hearing nothing for hours I finally called back just to be told tough luck they would continue charging me the full cost until I returned the vehicle. I understand that theyre a business but come on. Its kinda out of my hands at this point when I can return the car. So thank Enterprise, for not caring at all about the safety of your clients. Good thing I paid extra for the insurance because you might just be digging it out of a ditch by the time you get it back.

I normally love Enterprise. Today, however, has made me hate them. I picked up a reserved vehicle, pre-paid for 2 days rental, then got hit with a $200 cash deposit! Just for using my debit card. Ridiculous! What I had budgeted at $105 became $305. Not just a surprise, but took the money I needed for the trip I planned! Transparency is expected, not being robbed should be a given. No notice or warning makes for bad business. WILL NEVER USE ENTERPRISE AGAIN.

I recently rented a Dodge Grand Caravan from the Mason City Iowa Enterprise Rent-A-Car. We used the van to move my youngest son from Iowa to Ohio for medical school, so we had the van for a week. Because of the offices weekend schedule, we picked the van up on Saturday morning. When we got the van home, we discovered the tires were low on air and had no valve stem covers. In addition, the van was low on oil. Since the Mason City office was closed Saturday afternoon and Sunday, I called Enterprises roadside assistance number for advice. They did offer to swap out the vehicle, but we opted to add air to the tires, put some valve stem covers on, and add engine oil. We drove the van to Ohio and back - 1800 miles - with no additional problems. When I returned the van the following Friday, I let the Enterprise workers know that the things I had to do to ready the van for an extended trip were not my responsibility - they were more than courteous, and refunded me a days worth of rental price for my troubles. Overall, I learned to check the oil and tires BEFORE I leave the Enterprise lot next time. With the way the Mason City Enterprise office handled things, I would definitely rent a vehicle from them again without hesitation (this was actually my third rental vehicle from the Mason City location, so I was surprised at the problems - my other vehicle rentals were great). If I had to offer any suggestions to Enterprise, it would be to check the vehicle fluids and tires before letting the vehicle leave the lot, and maybe streamline the phone menus on the Roadside Assistance calls - they are really long!

I had a very enjoyable experience! I tried reserving a vehicle via the website but for whatever reason it would not complete the reservation (which wasnt a problem for me). I also called just to be on the safe side and was told that a vehicle will be waiting for me. Upon arriving to the Mason City Iowa Airport I called Enterprise and was picked up and taken to the office which was a great convenience. On the ride to the office I had a very enjoyable talk with the driver which made me feel very comfortable. Once at the Enterprise office I was greeted immediately (with no waiting), and although the handheld device that was used seem to have stopped working (had to be redone with the desktop system) the process was still pretty quick. The experience with turning in the vehicle was just as enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend Enterprise to anyone after my experience with the Mason City Iowa Enterprise Staff!!!

While the car rental experience is set with much ease and in comfortable cars, the prose of refilling the car with gas at a lowered price so that you are not rushing to get gas and reach your drop off is promising. However, be much more realistic with the charges. A car that takes $20 to fill up does not need $15 to refill what is already more than 3/4 full. Be fair to your customers!!!

The vehicle we rented, a 2018 Nissan Murano, served us well. We had about a 2 hour drive to the Twin Cities for Easter weekend and it was a smooth and comfortable ride for the two of us and a couple of guests. My only concern was the sophisticated GPS map. I didnt plan to use the map but apparently I or someone else accidently pushed the wrong button and we couldnt get it to default to the beginning screen. Perhaps more training on this before renting this type of vehicle the next time would help?

Absolutely horrible service. The last 3 times we booked with them we had problems. The first time we booked with them over the phone. When we arrived we were told we needed to.go home and get a water bill. We did that then we were told they needed a chip card.so we left without a vehicle. The second time we booked with them we had a chip card but were told they didnt have the car we booked and we had to cancel our Thanksgiving trip to Wisconsin with family. Yesterday we booked on the phone we were told as long as we had a chip card we were good. We took a cab to Enterprise and on the way Julie called to say they no longer had the car we booked. She guaranteed we had A vehicle. When we arrived we were told they didnt take our bank card because of the type it was. For the last time we left without a vehicle again. We had to pay for a cab ride home. Sadly, this place is the only place to rent a car unless we go to Rochester. Very disappointing service dont waste your time

Awful service. Second experience with them, which was also awful. Rude customer service, short with people and do not listen! Way overpriced and require way to much paperwork. Denied me a car purely on You guys are married, with a bank account, but only your husbands name is on the card.Also, Im disabled, and cannot work, so thanks for your rude attitude and dismissal.

Enterprise was quick to get me back on the road after an accident totaled my car at the start of a road trip to go see my son graduate from basic training. They came and picked me up from where they had towed my car to, and quickly got me on the road. Once liability was determined for the accident, the easily transferred the billing to the insurance taking responsibility off of me. Julie was great, even when the insurance was screwing up!

I Returned vehicle on Sunday night and turned in keys 10 minutes after the office opened on Monday morning. They charged me for that day of rental and I didn’t even use it.I did call and talk to a local representative in Mason City all they could do is apologize, didn’t help me at all.I will never rent a car from enterprise again.

I was happy with the overall service except for the fact that I was quoted $160 for the price of a standard car and when I got there all they had was a large SUV and it ended up costing me almost $400 so my budget for the weekend was kind of blown. But it was a really nice vehicle, I just think the price should have stayed the same.

Horrible policy disclosure. I booked my premium rental with a master/debit then when I went to pay I couldnt be approved with my same card for my premium rental and had to downgrade. Note I reserved my rental weeks ago for a vacation, enterprise just now informed me the day before! Absurd get policy clear and act as a customer service agency not appreciated how this was treated when I choose to give them my money I deserve what I want otherwise Ill always choose an alternative.

First they gave my reservation away. Then they pawned off a huge cargo van on me. A SUV came in while I was there I asked if I could take it and was told that it was going back out. I stay in town for an hour having dinner. When I drove back by enterprise the same SUV was still sitting there. So if you go to this location expect to be lied to about everything

While I was satisfied with our car rental overall, I did not give them 5 stars for the following reasons: 1) I asked for a 4 door sedan (car) because we were traveling cross-country and wanted to be as fuel efficient as possible. I asked for a chrystler 200 or the equivalent. We were presented with a Chevy Traverse. While this is a nice vehicle, its a 4 door cross-over suburban type vehicle that has 5 seats in the back and does not quite fit the definition of fuel efficiency. While we liked the vehicle in general--the space, the seat warmers, the light over the cup holder, and the back up camera, it wasnt what we asked for. Even though we made the reservation ahead of time, the company told us that it was due to Spring Break and the amount of cars they rented out. 2) I utilized my 1 hour lunch break to pick up the car. I filled out an entire online application and confirmed with their staff over the phone that day. But when I got there, I waited in a pretty long line, and then when it was my turn, the woman was so flustered and distracted that most of her sentences didnt even make much sense. I know it was a long day for them because of Spring Break, but the employees should not be complaining about having business, especially to a paying customer of a rental for 5 days. They hadnt washed or cleaned the interior of the vehicle yet, so after filling out all the paperwork, the employee took 20+ minutes to clean the vehicle. I used almost my ENTIRE hour lunch break to pick up the car. I thought that was a ridiculously long amount of time. 3) We were told our car had XM radio paid for. However, we only had one channel (the preview channel) that worked. As we were driving through the mountains and cross-country, regular radio wasnt always possible, so only having the preview station was a little irritating. 4) Finally, having to put $100 as a deposit just for using your debit card is inconvenient. AND they didnt tell me this at ANY point before checkout--not online, in the application, over the phone, etc. I wish I had fair warning before having to fork over $100 for duration of our rental.

Process in office takes too long. Even though rented vehicle online, I get to office & theres no vehicles. Conflicts with pricing. Interior of vehicles need to be cleaned better. Enterprise does not assist when one of their vehicles has a mechanical problem while traveling. Lack of knowledge about vehicle accessories.

1/31/18.....UPDATE......I would write a second review if I could, but I cant seem to....so........My second rental with these folks, 1/6/18. All I can say is THANK YOU! These guys are so very helpful and go the extra mile for you! They corrected the second driver charge from the first rental. My rental had not been returned at the time I was to pick it up. No worries! The replacement they offered was perfect! (Awsome upgrade) No extra charge, same deal. They made it so easy! PLUS when we returned, after a week of my personal car sitting there in sub-zero weather, it wouldnt start. They came to my rescue! They got my car started for me, made sure it was running all with a smile! I will always choose these folks for my rental choice.They make it right! THANK YOU!*******************************I realize this is a bit old, but Im just now finding out I may have been told differently, as Im looking to rent from them again. Last January 8 2017? I rates from them. I was told no charge for an extra driver. Then when we went to pick up the car, since we are not married, but domestic partners, we were told no you must be married. Ok we bought that. Charged us accordinglyBut now I see in the Enterprise Rules it says married or domestic partner . So what gives? Is it MARRIED ONLY for no charge for additional driver? Were we over charged?Im thinking twice on it the reservation i have for January 6 thru the 16th 2018.

Booked online, went with the economy compact. got to the location and when i pulled up i seen a 2016 dodge charger and started drooling over it. when we went out to do a walk around, they showed me the car i originally booked and being 65, knew there was no way i was going to fit in the car. i used a debit card so had limited options for an upgrade; i was offered a 4dr compact ford fiesta for $5 more, or the 2016 charger for $10 more and JUMPED on that deal. hell of a fun car! great service, had a 24hr rental. called them to let them know i would be a few mins late on return because i took the car to the drive thru wash (shocked them for some reason haha) and received my deposit back on my card 3 days later. highly recommend, and will definitely be going back JUST to drive that car again

Was very pleased with service and Vehicle WAS DISAPPOINTED when I saw a nearly 8.00 charge on my bill for re-fueling ption- When I was asked there was no mention of this being charged to my bill (Especially since the vehicle had less than 1/4 of tank of gas and I was told that i did not need to put gas in it since it had not been fueled before my arrival)
