These apartments are really a great size and the management is hard to beat. They are affordable, clean, and safe. Southern Hills is a great place of upper middle class clientele and I really enjoyed living there.

The thing I like best at Southern Hills Apartments is that the entire building is quiet throughout the week. They offer wireless internet for all of their apartments and is in a convenient location. I dont think the prices are unreasonable either.

Probably the nicest places to live in Marshalltown. John is a good and honest guy and will treat you right if you respect him and the properties. Cabinetry, kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures are all a little dated but get the job done. Nothing at all pretentious about the place, but its Marshalltown...Very quiet community - mostly Fisher employees, many of them from overseas. Never encountered anyone who wasnt nice or polite; just quiet. Safe area and even though you need to drive everywhere, its not like theres anything to do in the town.Garage did not accommodate a 1.2 ton truck, so only rent one if you have a sedan.

Southern Hills Apartments are in a good location. I really liked the resident manager there as well. She always kept good track of things there.

There isnt much to choose from in Marshalltown as far as apartments go. Southern Hills is a decent place, but just a little outdated. You wont really find anything new in town so you kind of just have to work with it.Management is really good at maintaining the area and fixing any issues that may come up. I havent had any bug problems, but they regularly come around and check in each of the buildings.You can have a gas grill, which is a huge plus. Apartments are spacious enough, but they rarely have any openings and if they do, they usually go fast, so dont hesitate if you know you want to move in.Garages are extra, but can fit a car, bike, and a bunch of other stuff. I know some people have tried putting a truck in their garage with little luck, so be aware of that.Tenant pays electricity, gas, cable, and internet.

The townhouses are spacious and nice. Snow removal doesnt get done like it should.
