Shawn was awesome. We needed help because we were relocating and gone a lot. He never failed to show up. He took care of the snow and then went on to mow and weed-eat our lawn. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for snow removal or lawn care! Five stars is not enough. It should be 10!

We have a large property outside of CR, so when I lost the key to our rider I knew itd be a challenge to find someone to mow. I had been calling companies for a few days explaining my situation only to find none were taking on new customers. After calling Behrends and getting a quote, he gave me a number to call said I could probably get a universal key made for few bucks. He made my day as no one else offered this and he willing gave me the info knowing I wouldnt need his company at that point. For his honesty and help, Id never use anyone else, Id even called Gregs Landscaping and they werent any help.

I’ve been blown away by Shawn’s flexibility and amazing attitude. He always gives me a heads up on the condition of my lawn and is easy to chat with. Not only does he care about his business, he also is intentional and personal with me and my family. Shawn made sure my lawn was all taken care so I wouldnt get fined by the city. Back story. My husband is fighting for his life in the hospital with covid pneumonia and Im home sick with covid and can barely walk to the door. Shawn did not hesitate to offer his services to help me when I really needed it.Hes a great guy.Thank you Shawn!

Sean was very aggressive and responsive when I contacted him for work. I didnt think much of it until he put me on the back burner for weeks. My yard would go untouched for weeks at a time then he would come by to double or triple mow my lawn all in one go around. Which granted it probably needed it, because it hadnt been addressed in so long! When I tried to get answers from him he claimed rain was the reason why it took him 14+ days to come by. I even saw him pull up once or twice and then leave again when it clearly needed it! He would then go on the offense with me telling me he is the professional and was educated (his grammar alone is enough to make you chuckle when he says that) and that I clearly didnt read his mangled contract well enough. After awhile it wasnt even worth my time to argue. If you are looking to use Mr. Bherends for service I would THINK TWICE! I guarantee he will not come out to your house and mow 10 times if you sign with him. 0 chance. He will deceive you, lie to you, and give you the run around until you realize its just not worth the stress anymore.You should be ashamed of yourself sir. Would give -5 stars if I could.

Do not hire Behrends Law Care. We hired Shawn in April of 2021 and paid $500 up front for 10 mows and one fertilizer treatment through June 23, 2021. Shawn only mowed our yard 5 times. After the fifth mow on May 29, 2021, Shawn claimed that each time he came out he had to double mow, and therefore, he had satisfied our 10 mow contract. He refers to a vague portion of the contract that he feels gives him freedom to double-mow your lawn without any notice or discretion to you. There was zero communication that this was occurring and no warning that we were getting half of what we paid for. Though this portion of the contract is not clear or equitable, he will argue in circles and tell you to take him to small claims court. Shawn waited 10+ days between mows and blamed the rain. Had he mowed weekly, the lawn would not have been in such poor condition. We had multiple neighbors come and offer to mow for us because it looked so horrible. When asked if he truly believed his actions were reasonable with what a typical client would expect from a lawn care service, Shawn refused to answer.Shawn has no interest in making his customers happy. If questioned or asked to do something different, Shawn simply says “you signed the contract” and blames you for not understanding the terms, even if the terms are unclear or misleading. He provided half of the mowing services that we paid for, so, ultimately, he stole $200 from us.Check out the BBB reviews and ratings, along with the one star Google reviews and the Yelp reviews. They all speak for themselves.Also, Shawn has accused me and my husband of writing fake reviews of his company when in fact we have only written this one single review...we don’t appreciate being falsely accused. Perhaps he should consider some of the other customers who have not been happy and not just us.

We had Behrends rebuild our retaining wall. They are the most professional team weve ever worked with. From the estimate to the end they have been very easy to work with. Whenever we had a question Sean was there to explain it in terms we could understand. This company is good at what they do, fast and detail oriented. If we landscaping done in the future we will go back to them because of how they worked with us. Great job guys! (The picture was at the end during clean up)

Worked with Shawn for a little bit now. In a business where many people cut corners, Shawn continues to pull through with quality service because he genuinely cares about his customers!It’s also a business where we are at the mercy of the weather, he remains in contact with his people and is constantly giving updates to make sure people know when their projects will be completed. He’s also just been a joy to work with!

This guy did a job for my friend. Let me just say firstly, what a terrible job. Ripped my friend off for sure. Charged him double what it should’ve been. Do NOT recommend this service. Save your money and time and go somewhere else… He’s an unethical scumbag.

My aunt had Mr. Behrens do some work for her recently. She told me he didnt do what she felt was fair and he got extremely aggressive and kept referring to his horribly misspelled contract time and time again. I read the contract myself and after translating the grammar errors it remained extremely ambiguous. He used that to take advantage of her and totally ripped her off multiple mows. He cuts corners, hes dishonest, and overly unethical. He does the absolute BARE minimum to get a paycheck. What a way to live. I ended up finishing my aunts lawn due to her muscular dystrophy and my uncles recent passing, so she was ok. Shame on you Mr. Berens! Would leave 0/5 stars if possible.

Showed up a few minutes late and were extremely unprofessional. The person who was in charge (and who I think owned the business too?) was very arrogant and his breath smelled extremely bad. Hopefully he decides to use all of the money I paid him on a new a new toothbrush and maybe a dentist appointment. Not to be a Karen, but I don’t think I’ll be using their service again and wouldn’t recommend using them to anyone else.

Behrends would rarely show up when they said they would. I had mows left at the end of the season and requested they would plow to use them and Shaun said no. Im a widow and i would have appreciated better service. I dont need to waste money!

Very punctual, polite, professional and not to forget perfectionists. De-thatched, seeded, water, front yardI had mr Behrends come by in mid April to do a quote on my lawn for de-thatching and seeding out front, along with some tilling out back. He lied when he told me he’d come by Mid May and I didn’t have anything done - let alone any communication until early June. I was very patient and willing to work with him and his timeline, but after two months I didn’t feel like a priority and wanted answers. He continuously spewed nonsense about how it was raining too much, then not enough. Ground is too wet then too dry, it was just smoke and mirrors and It was extremely stressful. He was very arrogant and aggressive over the phone when we talked about it. He was so unprofessional. He then texted me to cancel and told me I was aggressive and disrespectful Bc I was a bit upset re the timeline. When I followed up with a response it would not send Bc he blocked me!! Mr Behrens will waste your time and take your money. 10/10 would not recommend!!

Great job this morning on the snow removal from our driveway! It had been a couple of snows and packed down from driving on it but Behrends got the job done! They came over right away and were very conscientious about doing the job to our satisfaction. Impressive!

Tried calling this company multiple times and they would never respond. After calling 7 different times I finally got a hold of some guy who impatiently told me he wouldnt mow my lawn unless I signed up for a full season. If you ever get a hold of this guy hes very impatient and disrespectful. Would not recommend berens lawn care.

Without fail, Shawn would contact me every couple weeks to let me know of any changes to my timeline for my work and any other issues we needed to work through (job specifics, etc). I called him with questions a couple times and changes to my scope of work. He took all of them in stride and was always flexible with me.Shawn and crew came out to do the work. They were very efficient and friendly and also made me comfortable leaving them to do their work while I was away at my job or in my home. All of the crew members were always willing to chat, give me updates, etc. and were pleasant to work with.In the end, they did a great job. I could tell they genuinely cared about their work, doing small things to go the extra mile (saving me good wood I asked for, blowing off my driveway multiple times, etc.). I called to get a quote and Shawn quickly responded. I have solid ice and he gave plenty of suggestions for what I could do to save money. He also followed up daily to check in on the progress. I have yet to have the driveway plowed as were trying to break up the ice as much as possible before he comes out but just based on his professionalism, response time, follow up, and overall pleasantness, I would highly recommend Shawns services!!

Poor customer service. If you want your lawn mowed every 4 weeks, call these guys. If you want your lawn mowed weekly during the summer, I’d recommend finding someone else. If you pay in advance, be prepared for them to mow every 4 weeks and blame the weather for the reason they can’t make it out every week...even though your neighbors are able to mow weekly around rain. This is what our yard looked like every few weeks before they’d finally come out to mow again.

I was hoping that the good reviews would hold up. Unfortunately weekly mowing was once a month at best and Mr. Behrends preferred to make excuses rather than fix it. He also sneaks something called a double into the description as an avenue for not showing up as many times contracted and increasing his revenue per mow. To top it off both a fence gate and corner of my house we’re damaged and he failed to repair (I didn’t ask for the gate). At the end he resorted to demean me which shows his ethics.

I was in a car accident that resulted in a shoulder injury. Called and was informed that they would be able to handle my residence. First snow came with about 6 inches. Went to work and expected after I returned that it would be done since I had already paid. Got home and still not done. Sent a text at 4:30pm and finally got a reply at 6pm that he would check with driver on ETA. Never heard from him again. Had to shovel it myself. Very dissatisfied and disappointed in the service.As to your response, you never contacted me back and I NEVER received a contract stating anything. You flashed something on your phone and said you would write it up on the drive and send it. Still havent received it. I dont appreciate being bashed personally for your neglect and would appreciate you taking ownership. I have only stated the facts to my experience and glad I cancelled the check. Now Im only out $32 instead of $500. Now that I also know how you treat people when you dont like truth. There is something called humility and just admitting you were wrong that goes a long way!! Instead you decide to attack the customer. Not very good business skills.

If I could put zero stars I would. Do not waste your money here. He will rip you off. We paid for 15 mows in the middle of June which would equate to once a week through the rest of September. He came once on June 19th. Next Time was two weeks later on July 3rd. His excuse for not coming for 14 days was rain for 5 days in that 2 weeks period slowed him down. I decided to let it go and hope he would change my opinion about him and his company. And it is now July 24th and he hasn’t been back. Literally 3 weeks! Our yard is horrible. This time the excuse Is the warm weather is burning up the grass but let me tell you, it is not. Our lawn is long. We work a lot and can not mow in a timely manner so we paid a company to do what we were not around for. Well, mowing once a month is definitely something we could have handled. And it would have been free. If you try talking to him about when he will be there next he will tell you the next two days and then not follow through. He has done this 3 times to me now. Told me a day and never came. I hope someone who needs their lawn mowed will read this review and turn the other way!

Pretty sure the 20 excellent reviews must be from friends or family. Our 2018 experience with Shawn was terrible! He said all the right things but did not follow through with anything he said he would do. He left our gate open (forewarned him about this so the dog wouldn’t get out) did not come when he said he would, ever! He always had an excuse that made no sense. Once we saw him at a local restaurant on an evening he said he would be out to do our lawn. We texted him to see what he would say and he claimed he had “just finished” at our place. Impossible. He cannot be trusted. Our yard looks the worst it has ever looked. We cancelled our service with him and requested a refund of the unused services for which we had prepaid. He agreed to send a $250 refund check right away. That was about 8 weeks ago and despite two more reminders that we are still awaiting the refund, we have not received the check. Unfortunately we paid ahead “to get a discount.” When I wrote the check back in March he grumbled something about cash is better so he wouldn’t have to claim it on his taxes. That should of been a clue but he took my check and came across as knowing his trade and being enthusiastic about doing a good job for us so we have him a chance. Little did we know he would do us so wrong despite chance after chance. We have dozens of texts to and from him documenting all of this. My next call is to the Better Business Bureau.Update Nov 16: Still no $250 refund he promised for services not rendered. I’m not afraid of Google, Mr Behrends. This is an honest review. I just paid another lawn care place to come do the aeration you never did.Update Dec 22, 2018: Literally 5 minutes ago via text Shawn said he would pay the $250 since we must need it more than he does but we must remove our negative review from Google. My husband said we would gladly update the review with a statement that he did refund the money but we would not remove it because it is true. He then went back to blaming us as the client and citing a “signed contract.” Folks, there never was a signed contract. I don’t doubt he probably does a fine job for his large accounts but homeowners should not utilize his services. In the end we decided it is worth a $250 loss to voice our honest review. You might notice that every negative review on here is met with anger and threats and in our case a “bribe” to return our own $250 (for services NOT completed) if we would remove it.

Will definitely hire again. Communication and follow through was excellent.

I needed some fall leaf pickup before a potential fall rain or snow in a couple days, Shawn was able to accommodate me quickly. He was polite, very easy to communicate with, you send him a text and he responds quickly unlike so many of the service people out there. He did a very good job with my leaf removal and was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend him.

We had a lot of solid ice and snow left at the bottom of our driveway due to another plow leaving it there. Shawn did a very good job at removing the ice and snow. I would highly recommend him to do any of your snow removing you may need. I know I will be calling him again for some help.

Due to length of time it took for weather to cooperate for the work to even be started I canceled since it had been 4 months of waiting. I am STILL waiting for my refund. I get no response or the truth from him after a month late for a refund. When he asked for 1/2 up front he got it ....now where is my refund? Pretty sad way to run a business. I wouldnt trust him for a min!! Beware. And I have communication saying check was sent or Ill check on it and let you know with no response. As well as the communication saying I would receive a FULL refund.

I just got Shawn to do my a clean up of my driveway of a ton of snow and he did an awesome job of it. He was extremely helpful and even though I had to delay his payment by a few days since I was out of town he was more than willing to accommodate me. I would definitely recommend them for any plowing needs! Great work, fast and friendly as well! Plows came through our neighborhood and missed the curb line by 5 ft. They also piled 4 ft piles on the corners of my drive, causing me to not be able to get cars in or out of our driveway. Not only were they able to knock back the piles and clean up the curb... they helped me push my car out when it was stuck, and even came by to rework what they werent able to get up the first time due to being compact ice. Theyve helped out several of our neighbors as well.

I called Shawn to mow my lawn a couple of times and not only is he really nice, but he does an amazing job with the lawn. It looks great. Its not often when you get great customer service and great service all in one company.I will definitely recommend Behrends Lawn Care to any friends and family that need their lawn taken care of.

Service was purchased for us as a gift. They took forever to come out after it snowed. After the 7+ snowfall we were stuck in the drive because Shawn did not come out. I had to clear the snow myself. This was 24+ hours after snow had stopped,and trying to contact Shawn. He did not come out when he said he would. When he would finally come out, the service was not very good. He would leave a lot of snow on our drive, which has caused it to turn to ice and become very slippery. I would not recommend using his snow removal service! There are many other companies that are reliable and do a good job!

Shawn was very good about communicating with us. Hard worker who did a great job in a timely manner.

Extremely professional and timely service. Very reasonable prices and ensures sidewalks are cleaned. Shawn treated my lawn as if it was his own.
